Abstract

Description

[0001] The invention relates to a countertop washbasin, having a base, a basin wall projecting from the base with a basin edge lying in one plane, a drain opening arranged in the base and arranged off-center thereon and a support surface arranged on the base for placing the countertop washbasin on a support plate.

[0002] Sinks are open-topped containers with a drain to the sewer system and a faucet attached to the sink, from which water is drawn. Sinks are mounted, for example, on a vertically oriented wall, with fixtures located near the mounting surface. A shelf is often provided to the side of the faucet, for example, for placing soap or other items. The sink has a recess, at the lowest point of which is the drain or connection to the sewer system.

[0003] In addition to washbasins that are mounted on the wall, there are also washbasins that are recessed into a vanity top. For this purpose, the washbasin has an outward-projecting, circumferential ledge that is shaped and sized to cover the mounting hole within the vanity top and protrudes beyond the mounting hole. The washbasin bowl is led through the mounting hole and, when installed, is located predominantly below the vanity surface. The tap is usually mounted on the vanity top, and the drain opening in the basin bowl is also positioned at the lowest point of the washbasin so that the water can drain away completely. When installed, only the top of the washbasin is visible; this extends from the edge of the basin inwards and towards the drain hole.

[0004] Countertop washbasins differ from inset washbasins in their installation. Instead of being wall-mounted or installed in an opening within the washbasin, countertop washbasins are placed on a vanity top, so that the outside of the washbasin is also visible and the washbasin is almost entirely above the countertop. The faucet is located either in the washbasin or on a wall. The drain opening is located in the base of the basin at the lowest point. The water is drained into the sewer system via a suitable pipe or drain opening, which is routed through a comparatively small opening within the washbasin.

[0005] One problem with state-of-the-art countertop washbasins is the lack of protection against splashing water and the increased water consumption when the washbasin is used to collect water, for example to soak or rinse objects.

[0006] The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a countertop washbasin that avoids or reduces the disadvantages of the prior art and allows flexible installation.

[0007] This object is achieved by a countertop washbasin having the features of the main claim. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are disclosed in the subclaims, the description, and the figures.

[0008] The countertop washbasin with a base, a basin wall protruding from the base with a basin rim lying in one plane, a drain opening arranged off-center in the base, and a support surface arranged on the base for placing the countertop washbasin on a support plate. The base, which can also extend continuously from the basin rim to the drain opening, forms the surface on the inside of the countertop washbasin that usually absorbs the water and directs it to the drain opening. The support surface, with which the countertop washbasin is mounted on a support plate, is arranged on the outside or underside of the countertop washbasin on the base and at least partially surrounds the drain opening. 1. Countertop washbasin (1), with a base (10), a basin wall (20) projecting from the base (10) with a basin edge (30) lying in a plane (25), a drain opening (40) arranged in the base (20) and arranged off-center therein and a support surface (50) arranged on the base (10) for placing the countertop washbasin (1) on a support plate, characterized in that the support surface (50) is oriented inclined to the basin edge plane (25) 2. 3. Countertop washbasin according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the pool edge (30) and the pool wall (20) are arranged around a central axis (2) and the drain opening (40) is arranged offset to the central axis (2).

4. Countertop washbasin according to claim 3, characterized in that the central axis (2) forms an axis of symmetry.

5. Countertop washbasin according to one of claims 3 or 4, characterized in that the basin wall (20) is oriented parallel or inclined to the central axis (2) and is polygonal or curved.

6. Countertop washbasin according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base (10) is inclined or curved towards the drain opening (40).

7. Countertop washbasin according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inclination is 5° to 25°, in particular 10° to 20°, preferably 15° 8.
