[0005] To bridge steps, joints or butts in floor coverings, it is known (WO 99 / 01628 A1) to provide cover profiles that are invisibly fastened using a fastening rail. For this purpose, the fastening rail, which can be fastened to a substrate, forms parallel fastening webs that protrude from the substrate and create a clamping receptacle for two profile legs provided on the underside of the cover profile. The profile legs engage in the clamping receptacle at different depths to adapt to an existing step in the floor covering. Since the height of the fastening webs determines not only the lowest but also the greatest height of the steps or joints to be bridged, because the height of the profile legs of the cover profile can correspond at most to the height of the fastening webs, the use of these known devices is limited to certain ranges of the joint or step heights to be bridged.
[0006] In order to expand the area of application, it has already been proposed (DE 20 2005 001 979 U1 ) to provide a connecting rail between the fastening rail and the cover profile. This connecting rail can be inserted into the clamping recess between the two fastening webs of a fastening rail that can be connected to the substructure. The connecting rail has two holding webs that protrude from a rail base and are a continuation of the fastening webs of the fastening rail. These holding webs thus form a clamping recess for the profile legs of the cover profile, analogous to the fastening webs. The cover profile can therefore be inserted into either the fastening rail or the connecting rail, so that for greater step or joint heights only the connecting rail needs to be clamped into the clamping recess of the fastening rail before the cover profile is clamped into the connecting rail at a height that takes the respective step or joint height into account.The disadvantage, however, is that although the height of the cover profile can be adjusted to the respective step or joint height, it is hardly possible to compensate for a height difference between floor areas between which the cover profile is intended to create the most continuous transition possible.

[0008] The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a fastening device for cover profiles between floor sections in such a way that extensive adaptation to different step or joint heights can be ensured, taking into account any height differences of the floor sections to be bridged by means of the cover profile.
[0009] Starting from a device of the type described at the outset, the invention achieves the stated object in that the rail base of the connecting rail is inclined relative to the clamping legs and the holding legs offset inwards relative to the clamping legs by the thickness of the profile legs of the cover profile, and in that the clamping legs and holding webs of the connecting rail, which are located opposite one another in pairs, the fastening webs of the fastening rail and the profile legs of the cover profile each have a different height determined by the angle of inclination of the rail base.

Claims
Patent claims 1. Device for fastening a cover profile (1) for floors, comprising a fastening rail (3) which can be fastened to a base (2) and which has two fastening webs (4) forming a clamping receptacle for two profile legs (6) provided on the underside of the cover profile (1), and comprising a connecting rail (5) which can be optionally inserted into the clamping receptacle of the fastening rail (3), which is provided with two clamping legs (7) on the underside of a rail base (8) and with two holding webs (9) projecting from the rail base (8) and forming a clamping holder for the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1), characterized in thatthat the rail base (8) of the connecting rail (5) is inclined relative to the clamping legs (7) and the holding legs (9) offset inwards relative to the clamping legs (7) by the thickness of the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1), and that the clamping legs (7) and holding webs (9) of the connecting rail (5) lying opposite one another in pairs, the fastening webs (4) of the fastening rail (3) and the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1) each have a different height determined by the angle of inclination of the rail base (8).
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover profile (1) has a support leg (14) between the two profile legs (6) with a support foot (15) angled according to the angle of inclination of the rail base (8).
3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the support leg (14) with the profile leg (6) forms a receiving groove (16) for the associated holding web (9) of the connecting rail (5) on the side facing away from the angled support foot (15).

Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the profile legs (6) of the cover profile (1) and the clamping legs (7) of the Connecting rail (5) on the opposite outer sides Have longitudinal grooves (11) which interact with locking lugs (12) provided on the free longitudinal edges of the fastening webs (4).
