[0008] The invention will be better understood upon reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the drawings in which: there figure 1is an exploded perspective view of a case according to a first embodiment of the invention; the figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the case of the figure 1 , in a first configuration; the figure 3 is a partial side view of an assembly including the case of the Figures 1 And 2 , in a second configuration; the figure 4 is an exploded perspective view of a case according to a second embodiment of the invention; the figure 5 is a partial side view of an assembly including the case of the figure 4 , in a third configuration; and the figure 6 is a side view of the whole of the figures 4 And 5 , in a fourth configuration.
[0009] THE figures 1 to 3 represent a case 10 for a handgun 12, according to a first embodiment of the invention. figures 4 to 6 represent a case 110 for the 12 handgun, according to a second embodiment of the invention.
[0010] More specifically, the figures 3 , 5 And 6 represent a set 14, 114 including the case 10, 110 and the weapon 12 in an assembled configuration.
[0011] The weapon 12 is of the pistol or revolver type and includes in particular a barrel 16 and a stock 18. The barrel 16 extends substantially longitudinally, between a first end 20, called the front end, and a second end 22, called the rear end.
[0012] The butt 18 extends from the rear end 22 of the barrel 16. Preferably, the butt 18 extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to said barrel 16. By "substantially perpendicular" is meant that a principal direction of the butt is inclined at an angle between 0° and 30° with the perpendicular to a principal direction of the barrel 16.
[0013] Cases 10 and 110 will be described simultaneously below, with common elements designated by the same reference numbers.
[0014] The case 10, 110 includes: a housing shell 24, 124; a cap 26, 126; and a locking device 28, 128.
[0015] The hull 24, 124 extends in a longitudinal direction, between a front end 30 and a rear end 32.
[0016] In the following description, we consider an orthonormal basis (X, Y, Z) associated with the shell 24, 124. The X direction corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the shell.
[0017] The hull 24, 124 defines an internal space 34, 134, intended to receive the barrel 16 of the weapon 12 in the assembled configuration of the set 14, 114. The hull 24, 124 comprises: an internal wall 36, 136, oriented towards the internal space 34, 134; and an external wall 38, 138, oriented towards the outside of the case 10, 110.
[0018] In the assembled configuration, visible on the figures 3 , 5 And 6 , the front ends 20 and rear ends 22 of said barrel 16 are arranged respectively at the front ends 30 and rear ends 32 of the hull 24, 124; and the butt 18 is arranged outside the inner space 34, 134, so as to be able to be grasped by a user equipped with the case 10, 110.
[0019] Preferably, in the assembled configuration, the interior space 34, 134, includes an enlarged area 40 ( figure 3 ), near the front end 30 of the hull. The said enlarged area 40 allows in particular to receive an accessory fixed to the front of the barrel 16 of the weapon 12, such an accessory being for example a lamp.
[0020] The outer wall 38, 138 of the shell 24, 124 is intended to be attached to a part of the body or to a piece of clothing of the user, such as for example to a belt.
[0021] In the embodiments shown, the holsters 10 and 110 are configured so that the weapon 12 can be gripped with the user's right hand. According to embodiments not shown, the holsters are adapted for a left-hand grip.
[0022] In the first embodiment of figures 1 to 3 The shell 24 comprises a first and a second part, called left part 42 and right part 44. The left part 42 and right part 44 are substantially arranged on either side of a plane (X, Z) forming a median plane of the case 10. The left part 42 and right part 44 are fixed to each other, in particular by means of fasteners 45. In an alternative not shown, the left and right parts are formed from a single piece.
[0023] At the rear end 32 of the hull 24, the left part 42 of said hull has a rear edge 46, extending substantially in a plane (X, Z) and arranged obliquely with respect to X.
[0024] The left part 42 of the shell 24 is intended to be attached to a piece of the user's clothing, such as a belt, so that the weapon 12 can be grasped with the right hand.
[0025] In the second embodiment of figures 4 to 6 The shell 124 comprises only the equivalent of the left-hand portion 42 described above. More precisely, the shell 124 is substantially arranged on one side of a plane (X, Z) forming a median plane of the case 110. Said case 110 will be described in more detail below.
[0026] The liner 26, 126 is movable relative to the rear end 32 of the shell 24, 124, between a safety position and a release position. The safety position of the liner 26, 126 is particularly visible on the figures 3 , 4 And 5 The position of the headgear release 26, 126 is notably visible on the Figures 1 , 2 And 6 .
[0027] In the secure position, the cap 26, 126 is able to come to a stop along X against the second end 22 of the barrel 16, so as to maintain the assembly 14, 114 in its assembled configuration. In the release position, the cap 26, 126 allows the weapon 12 to slide along X relative to the housing 24, 124, as described in more detail below.
[0028] In the embodiments shown, the headdress 26, 126 comprises a body 47 and an ear 48.
[0029] The body 47 has the shape of a U-shaped curved band, between a left end 50 and a right end 52. Said left ends 50 and right ends 52 of the body 47 are substantially opposite each other with respect to the median plane (X, Z) of the case 10, 110.
[0030] The ear 48 extends substantially in a plane (X, Z) from the left extremity 50 of the body 47. The headpiece 26, 126 will be described in more detail below.
[0031] The locking device 28, 128 is configured so that, in an engaged configuration of said locking device 28, 128, the cap 26, 126 is locked in the safety position.
[0032] The locking device comprises: an actuation element 54, 154; a first cam system 56, 156; a pusher 58, 158; and a first helical spring 59, 159.
[0033] The actuating element 54, 154 is movable in translation along X relative to the shell 24, 124. More precisely, the shell 24, 124 has a rail 60, 160 in which the actuating element 54, 154 is able to slide, as described below.
[0034] The actuation element 54, 154 includes a front stop 62, 162, suitable for coming into contact with the first end 20 of the barrel 16 of the weapon 12, as detailed below.
[0035] The actuation element 54, 154 is able to slide along X, along the rail 60, 160, between a first and a second axial position. In the first axial position, the front stop 62, 162 is further from the rear end 32 of the shell 24, 124 than in the second axial position.
[0036] The cap 26, 126 is rotationally movable relative to the actuating element 54, 154, along a first axis 64, 164, between the safety position and the release position. The first axis 64, 164 is parallel to Y.
[0037] The first cam system 56, 156 connects the cap 26, 126 to the rear end 32 of the shell 24, 124.
[0038] In the embodiments shown, the first cam system 56, 156 comprises: an oblong hole 66, carried by the ear 48 of the cap and extending between a first and a second end; and a pin 68, carried by the shell 24, 124 and forming a projection along Y with respect to the rear end 32 of said shell.
[0039] The pin 68 is able to slide in the oblong hole 66 between the first and second ends, corresponding respectively to the safety position and the release position of the cap 26, 126.
[0040] The pusher 58, 158 is able to pivot relative to the rear end 32 of the shell 24, 124, about a second axis 70, 170 parallel to Y. A first end 72 of the first helical spring 59, 159 is connected to the pusher. The pusher 58, 158 and the first spring 59, 159 will be described in more detail below.
[0041] In the engaged configuration of the locking device 28, 128, the case 10, 110 and the weapon 12 are in the assembled configuration to form the assembly 14, 114; the first end 20 of the barrel 16 of the weapon is abutted against the front stop 62, 162 of the actuating element 54, 154; and said actuating element is in the first axial position relative to the shell 24, 124.
[0042] Furthermore, in the said engaged configuration, the carriage 26, 126 is in the safe position and the body 47 of said carriage forms a rear stop along X, blocking in translation the barrel 16 of the weapon in the internal space 34, 134 of the hull.
[0043] Furthermore, in the said engaged configuration, the pin 68 of the first cam system 56 is disposed at a first end of the oblong hole 66, closest to the body 47 of the cap 26, 126.
[0044] In a free configuration of the locking device 28, 128, the actuation element 54, 154 is in the second axial position relative to the shell 24, 124.
[0045] Furthermore, in the said free configuration of the device 28, 128, the cap 26, 126 is in the release position and does not form a rear stop for the barrel 16.
[0046] Furthermore, in the said free configuration, the pin 68 of the first cam system 56, 156 is disposed at a second end of the oblong hole 66, the furthest from the body 47 of the cap 26, 126.
[0047] The first method of implementation of figures 1 to 3 will now be described in more detail.
[0048] In the first embodiment, the locking device 28 for the case 10 further includes a second helical spring 74, which will be described later.
[0049] Furthermore, in the first embodiment, the rail 60 of the shell 24 is provided in the internal space 34; and the actuating element 54 of the locking device 28 comprises a rod 78 and a rear stop 80. In the embodiment shown, the actuating element 54 further comprises a median projection 81.
[0050] The rod 78 extends along X in a straight line, between a front end, fixed to the front stop 62, and a rear end, fixed to the rear stop 80. Each of the front stops 62 and rear stops 80 is oriented towards the rear of the shell 24.
[0051] The rod 78 is able to slide along X, along the rail 60, between the first and second axial positions of the actuation element 54.
[0052] In the embodiment shown, the actuation element 54 has a left leg 82 and a right leg 83, arranged on either side of the rod 78 to materialize the first axis 64 of rotation of the cap 26. The rear stop of the actuation element 54 is formed by a rear notch 80 provided in the left leg 82.
[0053] Furthermore, the left leg 82 has a front edge 84, extending substantially in a plane (X, Z) and oriented obliquely with respect to X. The front edge 84 is adjacent along X to the rear notch 80.
[0054] The front stop 62 and the left legs 82 and right legs 83 extend substantially on the same side of a plane (X, Y) passing through the rod 78.
[0055] The median projection 81 extends along Z from the rod 78, opposite the front stop 62 and the left 82 and right 83 legs with respect to said plane (X, Y). Along X, said median projection 81 is situated between the front stop on one side and the left 82 and right 83 legs on the other.
[0056] The push button 58 is rotatable about the second axis 70 relative to the rear end 32 of the shell 24. The push button 58 has a front arm 86, a rear button 88 and a lug 90. The front arm 86 and the rear button 88 are fixed to each other and arranged on either side of the second axis 70. The lug 90 forms a projection along Y relative to the front arm 86.
[0057] The first end 72 of the first spring 59 is fixed to the front arm 86 of the pusher. A second end 92 of said first spring 59 is fixed to the left part 42 of the shell 24.
[0058] In the method of implementation of figures 1 to 3The first spring 59 is a tension spring. In a state of minimum stress of said first spring 59, visible on the figures 1 to 3 , the front arm 86 and the rear button 88 of the push button are substantially aligned along X.
[0059] In a state of maximum stress (not shown) of the first spring 59, the rear button 88 is positioned higher along Z than in the state of minimum stress. In other words, in the state of maximum stress, the rear button 88 is further from the stock 18 of the weapon 12 than in the state of minimum stress. Preferably, in the state of maximum stress, the rear button 88 abuts against the rear edge 46 of the left part 42 of the shell 24.
[0060] Conversely, in the state of maximum stress, the front arm 86 is positioned lower along Z than in the state of minimum stress.
[0061] The second helical spring 74 is a compression spring and extends along X between a front end, resting on the shell 24, and a rear end, resting on the median projection 81 of the actuation element 54.
[0062] In the embodiment shown, the second helical spring 74 is received in an internal cavity 94 formed in the shell 24. Said internal cavity 94 is delimited along X between a front wall 95 and a rear wall 96. The front end of the second helical spring 74 bears against the front wall 95 of said internal cavity 94. The median projection 81 is able to slide along X within the internal cavity 94.
[0063] In the engaged configuration of the locking device 28, visible on the figure 3 , rod 78 is in the first axial position relative to rail 60 of shell 24.
[0064] Furthermore, in the said engaged configuration, the lug 90 of the pusher 58 is engaged in the rear notch 80 of the left leg 82 of the actuation element 54.
[0065] Finally, in the said engaged configuration, the second helical spring 74 is compressed in a first state of compression, between the median projection 81 of the actuation element 54 and the front wall 95 of the internal cavity 94.
[0066] In the free configuration of the locking device 28, visible on the figure 2 , rod 78 is in the second axial position relative to rail 60 of shell 24.
[0067] Furthermore, in said free configuration of device 28, the cap 26 is in release position and the body 47 of said cap substantially fits the inner wall 36 of the shell 24 at the rear end 32.
[0068] Furthermore, in said free configuration, the rear notch 80 of the left leg 82 of the actuation element 54 is moved along X of the lug 90 of the pusher 58.
[0069] Finally, in the said free configuration, the second helical spring 74 is in a second state of compression, corresponding to a lower compression than the first state of compression; and the median projection 81 of the actuation element 54 is in contact with the rear wall 96 of the internal cavity 94.
[0070] The second method of implementation of figures 4 to 6 will now be described in more detail.
[0071] In the second embodiment, the shell 124 has a first sliding surface 200, adjacent along Z to the interior space 134. The rail 160 of the shell 124 extends along X over said first surface 200.
[0072] Furthermore, in the second embodiment, the actuation element 154 includes a cover 202 and a jumper 204.
[0073] The 202 cover corresponds approximately to the right-hand part 44 of the shell 24 of the case 10 of the figures 1 to 3 More specifically, the shell 124 and the hood 202 are substantially arranged on either side of the median plane (X, Z) of the case 110; and in the engaged configuration of the locking device 128, the hood 202 extends substantially between the front end 30 and the rear end 32 of the shell 124, said shell and said hood together defining the interior space 134 receiving the barrel 16 of the weapon 12, as described below.
[0074] The hood 202 has a second sliding surface 206 and a slide 208.
[0075] The second sliding surface 206 is able to slide along X against the first sliding surface 200 of the shell 124. The slide 208 forms a projection along Y relative to said second surface 206 and is able to cooperate with the rail 160 to guide the sliding along X of the actuation element 154 relative to the shell 124.
[0076] Furthermore, a front end of the hood 202 is integral with the front stop 162.
[0077] The rider 204 has a U-shaped section with a first 214 and a second 216 flanks. Each of said first 214 and second 216 flanks extends substantially in a plane (X, Z) and said first 214 and second 216 flanks are arranged on either side of the median plane (X, Z) of the case 110.
[0078] The first side 214 of the rider 204 is integral with the hood 202, said rider being arranged at the rear of said hood according to X.
[0079] The cap 126 is received between the first 214 and second 216 flanks of the rider 204, said first and second flanks materializing the first axis 164 of rotation of said cap 126 with respect to the actuation element 154.
[0080] Furthermore, in the second embodiment, the cap 126 includes a bar 218 substantially arranged in a plane (X, Z). One end of said bar 218 is fixed to the left end 50 of the body 47 of said cap 126, while a second end of said bar is free. The bar 218 forms a third axis 220.
[0081] Furthermore, in the second embodiment, the pusher 158 comprises a sliding tube 222 and a gripping button 224, which are fixed together; and the bar 218, the first helical spring 159 and the sliding tube 222 are arranged coaxially, the first spring 159 being located radially between said bar and said tube.
[0082] The pusher tube 222 is able to slide along the bar 218 along the third axis 220. The first spring 159 is a compression spring which tends to move the pusher 158 away from the first end of the bar 218.
[0083] Furthermore, in the second embodiment, the locking device 128 further comprises a second cam system 226. Said second cam system 226 comprises a pin 228 and a slot 230, said pin being able to move within said slot.
[0084] The pin 228 is integral with the button 224 of the push button 158 and forms a projection along Y relative to said button.
[0085] The slot 230 is made in the second side 216 of the rider 204 and includes a rotation portion 232 and a locking portion 234, adjacent to each other.
[0086] The rotation portion 232 extends in the form of an arc around the first axis 164, between a first closed end and a second end opening onto the locking portion. More precisely, in the second embodiment, the first rotation axis 164 of the cap 126 relative to the actuating element 154 coincides with the second axis 170, allowing the pusher 158 to pivot relative to the rear end 32 of the shell 124.
[0087] The blocking portion 234 is substantially straight and extends between the rotation portion 232 and a closed end. The blocking portion 234 extends substantially radially with respect to the first axis 164, opposite said first axis.
[0088] There figure 5 shows assembly 114 with case locking device 128 110 in engaged configuration, jumper 204 not shown.
[0089] In the engaged configuration of the locking device 128, the front stop 162 of the actuation element 154 is substantially opposite the front end 30 of the shell 124.
[0090] Furthermore, in said engaged configuration, the pin 228 of the second cam system 226 is disposed at the closed end of the slot 230 locking portion 234.
[0091] The said pin 228 is held in contact with the said closed end by the first spring 159. The cap 126 is thus blocked in rotation relative to the actuation element 154, in the safety position.
[0092] In the free configuration of the locking device 128, visible on the figure 6 , the pin 228 is disposed at the first closed end of the rotation portion 232 of the slot 230. In said free configuration, the first spring 159 is more compressed than in the engaged configuration.
[0093] A method of operation of the case 10, 110 will now be described.
[0094] Consider an initial state of the holster 10, 110, in which the weapon 12 is not assembled to said holster and the locking device 28, 128 is in the free configuration described above. For example, the outer wall 38, 138 of the shell 24, 124 is attached to a user's belt.
[0095] We consider a first step in the operating process, designated as the assembly step of set 14, 114.
[0096] At the beginning of the assembly stage, the user inserts the barrel 16 of the weapon 12 into the internal space 34, 134 of the hull, through the rear end 32. The front end 20 of the barrel 16 comes to rest against the front stop 62, 162. The user continues his movement tending to move the barrel 16 of the weapon 12 along X and the actuating element 54, 154 is thus moved from the second axial position to the first axial position.
[0097] The actuating element 54, 154 thus moves in translation along X towards the front of the shell 24, 124, driving the cap 26, 126. The pin 68 of the first cam system 56, 156 thus moves from the second to the first end of the oblong hole 66. The continued translation of the actuating element 54, 154 thus causes the cap 26, 126 to pivot around the first axis 64, 164, from the release position to the safety position.
[0098] The assembly step of set 14 according to the first embodiment will be described in more detail.
[0099] During the translation along X of the actuation element 54, the front edge 84 of the left leg 82 of said actuation element comes into contact with the lug 90 of the pusher 58. Under the action of said front edge 84, arranged obliquely in a plane (X, Z), the lug 90 is displaced along Z and thus causes the pusher 58 to rotate about the second axis 70. Said rotation of the pusher stretches the first spring 59 from its state of minimum stress to its state of maximum stress.
[0100] The translation along X of the actuation element 54 continues until the rear notch 80 reaches the lug 90. The first spring 59 then relaxes towards its minimum stress state, which causes the lug 90 to insert into said rear notch 80.
[0101] The actuating element 54 is thus locked in translation along X relative to the shell 24 in the first axial position. The locking device 28 is in the engaged configuration, the cap 26 being locked in the safety position.
[0102] The assembly step of set 114 according to the second embodiment will be described in more detail.
[0103] During the translation along X of the actuation element 154, the pin 228 of the second cam system moves from the first to the second end of the rotation portion 232 of the slot 230. Said movement of the pin 228 accompanies the pivoting of the cap 126 from the release position to the safety position.
[0104] When the cap 126 reaches the safety position, the pin 228 reaches the second end of the rotation portion 232. The first spring 159 is released, pushing the pin 228 towards the closed end of the locking portion 234.
[0105] The cap 126 is thus locked in rotation relative to the actuating element 154, in the safety position. The locking device 128 is in the engaged configuration.
[0106] We consider a second step in the process of operation of the case 10, 110, designated as the dissociation step of the assembly 14, 114.
[0107] The dissociation step of set 14 according to the first embodiment will now be described.
[0108] When the user wants to remove the weapon 12 from the holster 10, he first grasps the stock 18 with his right hand. Then, with his right thumb, he presses the rear button 88 of the push button 58, so as to bring said rear button 88 closer to the rear edge 46 of the left part 42 of the shell 24.
[0109] The pusher 58 thus pivots around the second axis 70, which moves the lug 90 away from the rear notch 80 of the actuation element 54, by stretching the first spring 59.
[0110] With the rear notch 80 no longer held against the lug 90, the second spring 74 relaxes, pushing the rod 78 and the first stop 62 towards the rear of the shell 24. The barrel 16 of the weapon 12 is thus ejected rearward by the front stop 62, which facilitates its unsheathing by the user.
[0111] The dissociation step of assembly 114 according to the second embodiment will now be described.
[0112] When the user wants to remove the weapon 12 from the holster 110, they first grasp the grip 18 with their right hand. Then, with their right thumb, they press the button 224 of the pusher 158, so as to bring said button 224 closer to the first axis 164. The button 224 thus moves translationally along the third axis 220, compressing the first spring 159.
[0113] The translation of the button 224 moves the pin 228 in the blocking portion 234 of the slot 230, to the second end of the rotation portion 232.
[0114] The user's thumb movement then accompanies the movement of the pin 228 towards the first end of the rotation portion 232. This movement causes the cap 126 to rotate from the safety position to the release position.
[0115] Under the action of the first cam system 156, the rotation of the cap 126 leads to the translation along X of the actuating element 154 relative to the shell 124, from the first to the second axial position. The barrel 16 of the weapon 12 is thus pushed rearward by the front stop 162, which facilitates its ejection by the user.
[0116] The case 10, 110 according to the invention therefore allows the locking device 28, 128 to be put into the engaged configuration by the simple introduction of the weapon 12 into the housing shell 24, 124.
[0117] Furthermore, the weapon is easily released by a movement of the user's thumb.
[0118] The locking mechanism 28, 128 is not visible from outside the right side of the case 10, 110. When said case is attached to the right side of a user, a third party is therefore unable to detect the operation of said locking device 28, 128, which improves the security conferred by the case 10, 110.
