Abstract

A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag integrated circuit (IC), an RFID reader, and methods for an RFID tag IC and an RFID reader are described for collided reply recovery using parallel RFID tag responses. A suitably configured RFID reader may be able to recover multiple tag replies from the collision, for example using error correction techniques or similar approaches. The reader may then be able to serially or simultaneously acknowledge multiple tags using the recovered replies in an inventory round. To enable such serial or simultaneous acknowledgement, RFID tags or tag ICs may be configured to wait for subsequent acknowledgement or access commands upon receiving an incorrect or inapplicable command, instead of immediately effectively exiting the inventory round.
