Abstract
Description
[0001] Interchangeable threaded base
[0002] The invention relates to an interchangeable threaded socket according to the preamble of claim 1 and an arrangement according to claim 6.
[0003] Mounting a cover on a housing designed for a replacement part by screwing it together, allowing multiple openings and closings, is known in the art. For example, this is known from filter housings for filter inserts, such as air filters.
[0004] Common locking concepts have the problem that the holes for self-tapping screws in the housing wear out after repeated screwing. If metal inserts are installed in the housing, these increase the cost of the housing. Furthermore, metal inserts can also be damaged due to incorrect installation, necessitating replacement of the housing.
[0005] US 2012 / 0274092 A1 describes a clamping structure for a trunk cover of a pickup truck, which is mounted on a frame portion of a trunk cover for releasably securing the frame portion to a side wall of a bed of the pickup truck. The clamping structure includes a composite grip member comprising a metallic grip body and a plastic sleeve. The metallic grip body has an engagement portion for stably engaging the side wall of the pickup truck. The plastic sleeve has a first abutment flange that smoothly abuts a rotary handle and a second abutment end facing a sliding block. Thus, the composite grip member can provide advantages of both metal and plastic materials, so that the operational stability and reliability of the clamping structure can be improved and its service life can be extended.
[0006] The invention is based on the object of providing a novel closure concept for mounting a cover on a housing. This object is achieved according to the invention by an interchangeable threaded base according to claim 1 and by an arrangement according to claim 6.
[0007] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims.
[0008] According to the invention, an interchangeable threaded socket for a housing with a cover for closing the housing is proposed, wherein the cover has one or more seats for one fastening screw each, wherein the housing has a number of recesses corresponding to the number of seats, each of which is aligned with one of the seats when the cover is placed on the housing in a closed position, wherein the recess is hollow for receiving the interchangeable threaded socket and is provided with a support geometry in its interior, wherein the interchangeable threaded socket has a complementary support geometry and a bore for receiving a fastening screw, wherein the support geometries of the recess and the interchangeable threaded socket are configured for mutual engagement with one another such that the interchangeable threaded socket inserted into the recess is held in a position in which the bore is aligned with a bore of the respectively assigned seat, when the cover is placed on the housing in the closed position.
[0009] In one embodiment, the interchangeable thread base has a cylindrical body or a body with a different cross-sectional shape in which the bore is arranged concentrically.
[0010] In one embodiment, the support geometry of the interchangeable thread base has at least one cam which is configured to engage with a respective cam track which is part of the support geometry of the bay window, such that an end of the interchangeable thread base which leads into the bay window when the interchangeable thread base is inserted is guided in the direction of a wall of the bay window, so that the interchangeable thread base strikes the wall.
[0011] In one embodiment, the wall of the bay window, against which the interchangeable threaded base comes to a stop, points away from the housing.
[0012] In one embodiment, the cam is part of a plane that completely or partially penetrates the body, cutting diagonally. In one embodiment, a radially projecting projection is arranged at a trailing end of the interchangeable threaded socket opposite the leading end. When the interchangeable threaded socket is inserted into the recess, the projection engages an inner stop surface of the recess, which is opposite the wall, when the interchangeable threaded socket rests against the wall.
[0013] In one embodiment, the projection and / or the cam are / is rounded.
[0014] According to one aspect of the present invention, an arrangement is proposed comprising a housing with a cover for closing the housing, wherein the cover has one or more seats for each fastening screw, wherein the housing has a number of recesses corresponding to the number of seats, each of which is aligned with one of the seats when the cover is placed on the housing in a closed position, and one or more interchangeable threaded sockets as described above corresponding to the number of recesses.
[0015] In one embodiment, the width of the support geometry of the interchangeable threaded base and the width of the bay window are selected for play-free or low-play accommodation in the bay window and / or a cove complementary to the body is provided in the bay window.
[0016] In one embodiment, an upper stop surface is arranged at an upper end of the wall of the bay window, which upper stop surface limits axial movement of the interchangeable threaded socket out of the bay window to a point at which the projection disengages from the inner stop surface, so that the trailing end can be moved away from the wall to be guided past the upper stop surface.
[0017] In one embodiment, the housing is configured to accommodate a replacement part, for example a filter insert, in particular an air filter.
[0018] In one embodiment, the replacement part has a projection which, when the replacement part is inserted into the housing, adjoins the inner stop surface towards the cover and continues it.
[0019] The housing with the cover and the replacement part can, for example, be part of a motor vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle. According to the invention, interchangeable threaded sockets with a screw hole are inserted into the housing. These sockets are positioned therein so that the screw hole is aligned axially with a fastening screw on the cover. When the fastening screw is tightened, the interchangeable threaded socket rests on the housing, and the fastening screw can firmly connect the cover to the housing.
[0020] If the screw hole of an interchangeable threaded socket is worn out, this can be replaced instead of the entire housing.
[0021] Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

[0037] Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference numerals in all figures.
[0038] Figure 1 is a schematic view of a housing 1 with a cover 2 for closing the housing 1. The housing 1 is configured in particular to accommodate a replacement part, for example, a filter insert, in particular an air filter. The cover 2 can be attached to the housing 1 by screwing, allowing multiple closing and opening.
[0039] The housing 1 with the cover 2 and the replacement part can, for example, be part of a motor vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle.
[0040] The cover 2 has one or more seats 3, each for a fastening screw 4, in particular a screw head 6 of the fastening screw 4. Figure 2 is a schematic sectional view of one of the seats 3. In particular, the cover 2 has two, three, four or more seats 3. The housing 1 has a number of recesses 5, in particular corresponding to the number of seats 3, which are arranged, for example, on the outside of the housing 1 and are each aligned with one of the seats 3 when the cover 2 is correctly placed on the housing 1. Figure 3 is a schematic sectional view of one of the recesses 5. The recess 5 is hollow and has a support geometry 7 in its interior, which is configured for positioning an interchangeable thread base 8. Figure 4 is a schematic view of the interchangeable thread base 8. The interchangeable thread base 8 has a support geometry 9 that is complementary to the support geometry 7 of the recess 5.
[0041] The interchangeable threaded base 8 shown in Figure 4 has a cylindrical body 30 with a concentric bore 10 configured to receive the fastening screw 4. The fastening screw 4 can, in particular, be a self-tapping screw, wherein the bore 10 and the fastening screw 4 are dimensioned such that a thread 22 of the fastening screw 4, shown in Figure 10, cuts into a wall of the bore 10 when it is screwed into the bore 10.
[0042] The support geometry 9 of the interchangeable threaded base 8 has, for example, at least one cam 11, which is configured to engage with a respective cam track 12, which is part of the support geometry 7 of the bay window 5, such that an end 13 of the interchangeable threaded base 8, which leads when the interchangeable threaded base 8 is inserted into the bay window 5, is guided in the direction of a wall 14 of the bay window 5 until the interchangeable threaded base 8 strikes the wall 14. Figure 5 is a schematic view of the bay window 5 with the interchangeable threaded base 8 before insertion. Figure 6 is a schematic view of the bay window 5 during insertion of the interchangeable threaded base 8, wherein the cam 11 is in engagement with the cam track 12 and the leading end 13 leads in the direction of the wall 14. Figure 7 is a schematic view of the bay window 5 with the inserted threaded base 8, which is in contact with the wall 14.For example, the interchangeable thread base 8 has two cams 11 as described above, wherein one of the cams 11 is configured to engage with a cam track 12 on one side of the bayonet 5 and the other cam 11 is configured to engage with a cam track 12 on an opposite side of the bayonet 5. In this way, rotation of the interchangeable thread base 8 in the bayonet 5 is prevented. The wall 14 of the bayonet 5, against which the interchangeable thread base 8 comes to a stop, can, for example, point away from the housing 1. The at least one cam 11 can, for example, be arranged at the leading end 13. In the embodiment shown, the cam 11 is part of a plane 15 which penetrates the cylindrical body 30 diagonally, completely or partially. At a trailing end 16 of the interchangeable threaded base 8 opposite the leading end 13 there is arranged a radially projecting projection 17 which, when the interchangeable threaded base 8 is inserted into the recess 5, engages with an inner stop surface 18 of the recess 5 which lies opposite the wall 14 when the interchangeable threaded base 8 rests against the wall 14. This situation is shown in Figure 7. In this situation the interchangeable threaded base 8 is positioned in the recess 5 such that the bore 10 is aligned with a bore 21 (shown in Figure 9) of the respectively associated seat 3 for the fastening screw 4 in the cover 2 when the cover is arranged on the housing 1. Due to the stop of the interchangeable threaded base 8 on the wall 14, the interchangeable threaded base 8 cannot move any further in the direction of the wall 14.Due to the engagement of the projection 17 with the inner stop surface 18 and the cam 11 with the cam track 12, the interchangeable thread base 8 cannot move in the opposite direction.
[0043] Lateral movement of the interchangeable threaded base 8 in the bay 5 can be prevented by selecting the width of the support geometry 9, in particular of the plane 15, for a play-free or low-play fit in the bay 5. Alternatively or additionally, a groove 29 complementary to the cylindrical body 30 can be provided in the bay 5, in particular on the wall 14. Likewise, the body 30 can be formed with a different cross-sectional shape instead of a cylindrical shape. In this case, instead of the groove 29, another complementary shape can be provided to guide the body 30 in the bay 5.
[0044] At an upper end of the wall 14, an upper stop surface 19 is arranged, which limits a purely axial movement of the interchangeable thread base 8 out of the bay window 5 in the position shown in Figure 7, up to a point at which the projection 17 comes out of engagement with the inner stop surface 18, so that the trailing end 16 can be moved away from the wall 14 in order to be able to be guided past the upper stop surface 19.
[0045] The projection 17 and / or the cam 11 may be rounded to ensure smooth insertion of the interchangeable threaded base 8 into the bay window 5.
[0046] Figure 8 is a schematic view of the housing 1 with the interchangeable threaded base 8 inserted into the recess 5 and a replacement part 20, for example a filter insert, inserted into the housing 1. Figure 9 is a schematic view of the housing 1 with the interchangeable threaded base 8 inserted into the recess 5 and the replacement part 20 inserted into the housing 1, as well as the cover 2 placed on the housing 1 in a closed position, wherein the bore 21 of the seat 3 is aligned with the bore 10 of the interchangeable threaded base 8.
[0047] Figure 10 is a schematic view of the housing 1 with the interchangeable threaded base 8 inserted into the bay window 5 and the exchangeable part 20 inserted into the housing 1 as well as the cover 2 placed on the housing 1, wherein a fastening screw 4 is screwed through the bore 21 of the seat 3 into the bore 10 of the interchangeable threaded base 8 and the screw head 6 rests against the seat 3.
[0048] The bore 21 of the seat 3 is dimensioned in particular such that the thread 22 of the fastening screw 4 does not engage a wall of the bore 21. The bore 21 therefore generally has a larger width than the bore 10.
[0049] Figure 11 is a schematic view of the housing 1 with the interchangeable threaded base 8 inserted into the recess 5 and the interchangeable part 20 inserted into the housing 1, as well as the cover 2 placed on the housing 1 and the screwed-in fastening screw 4. As the fastening screw 4 is screwed in further, the interchangeable threaded base 8 is pulled out of the recess 5 by the thread 22 until the trailing end 16 of the interchangeable threaded base 8 strikes the upper stop surface 19. In this situation, the fastening screw 4 itself prevents the trailing end 16 from being guided away from the wall 14 and past the upper stop surface 19. This can also be prevented by a design of the interchangeable part 20, which for this purpose has a projection 23 that adjoins the inner stop surface 18 towards the cover 2 and continues it. The cover 2 is thus securely fastened to the housing 1.
[0050] Figure 12 is a schematic view of an alternative embodiment of the interchangeable threaded base 8. The projection 17 protrudes not only radially but also axially, is formed with an alternative shape, and additionally has a radial tongue 24 designed to rest on an upper sealing surface 25 of the housing 1. Figure 13 is a schematic view of a further alternative embodiment of the interchangeable threaded base 8. Instead of the projection 17, two spring-like tongues 26 are provided, which are configured for support on a cutout 27 of the housing 1.
[0051] Figure 14 is a schematic view of another alternative embodiment of the interchangeable threaded base 8. Instead of the projection 17, two spring-like tongues 26 are provided, which are configured for support on lateral edges 28 of the bay window 5.
[0052] Figure 15 is a schematic view of another alternative embodiment of the interchangeable threaded base 8. Instead of the projection 17, two spring-like tongues 26 are provided, which are configured for support on the wall 14 of the housing 1.
