Description

Description Wire stripping pliers with two jaws field of technology

[0001] The invention relates to a wire stripping pliers with two pliers jaws, two outer clamping jaws, two inner cutting jaws and two handle parts, wherein the cutting jaws can be displaced from an initial position into an end position when the handle parts are pressed together, wherein the cutting jaws each have a cutting edge with a cutting edge, wherein the cutting edges are at a certain distance from one another in a defined position in which the cutting jaws are brought towards one another, wherein in a position to be regarded as the basic position the distance can be adjusted via an adjusting screw. State of the art

[0002] Stripping pliers of the type in question are well known. They are used for stripping electrical cables. In this context, so-called automatic stripping pliers have become known, which cut into the insulation in a single operation and then, by further squeezing the handles together, at least partially remove it from the conductor. The cutting depth of the cutting jaws is usually adjusted to the thickness of the insulation layer in order to expose the electrical conductor without damage.

[0003] A stripping pliers of the type in question is known, for example, from DE 44 20 006 C2. This stripping pliers is provided with an adjusting screw, by means of which one of the two cutting jaws A supporting lever can be used to adjust the distance between the cutting edges relative to each other.

[0004] Such a stripping pliers are also known, for example, from US Pat. No. 3,596,541 A. This pliers feature an adjusting screw that can act directly on one of the cutting jaws to adjust the distance between the cutting edges. The adjusting screw can be locked in 90° increments, viewed in the direction of rotation of the adjusting screw. Summary of the invention

[0005] In view of the above-described prior art, one object of the invention is to further improve a stripping pliers of the type in question.

[0006] A possible solution to the problem is provided according to a first inventive idea in a stripping pliers in which the adjusting screw can be connected to an adjusting wheel which can be aligned with a marking for the basic position which is fixed on one of the pliers jaws.

[0007] The adjustment wheel allows the user to (further) adjust the cutting edge distance from the basic position established by the adjustment screw. For this purpose, the adjustment screw, which is preferably the only one used to initially make the basic setting, for example, by the manufacturer, can be equipped with the adjustment wheel. Preferably, this adjustment wheel alone allows the user to make further (fine) adjustments of the cutting edge distance from the basic position, particularly without the need for tools.

[0008] For this purpose, the adjustment wheel can be provided with a handling-friendly section, for example with knurling around the edge.

[0009] Preferably, the adjustment screw alone is used to adjust the home position. Only after this basic alignment of the cutting jaws has been achieved, in a preferred embodiment, is the adjustment screw fitted with the adjustment wheel to enable further distance adjustment from the home position.

[0010] The adjustment dial allows the user to easily find the default setting even after further distance adjustment. This is achieved by a marking, preferably on a fixed part of the stripping pliers, for example, on a jaw supporting the adjustment screw, which can be used to align a counter-mark on the adjustment dial.

[0011] Typically, such stripping pliers are used to strip electrical cables with different conductor cross-sections, for example 0.75 mm 2 , 1 mm 2 , 1.5 mm 2 , 2.5 mm 2 , 4 mm 2or 10 mm 2 Depending on the distance between the outer clamping jaws that occurs when gripping the cable to be stripped, the cutting depth of the cutting edges is automatically adjusted, thus ensuring the smallest possible distance between the cutting edges, adapted to the conductor cross-section. Accordingly, the cutting edge distance is automatically adjusted in a known manner depending on the overall outer cross-section of the cable.

[0012] However, especially with smaller cross-section cables, readjustment of the cutting depth or the cutting edge distance may be necessary. In particular, due to unfavorable temperature influences, Without such readjustment, the conductor to be exposed may be damaged.

[0013] According to one possible embodiment, the position of the adjustment wheel relative to the adjustment screw can be fixed and unchangeable. This can be fixed, for example, by the manufacturer. This can be achieved by a force-locking and / or positive-locking connection between the adjustment wheel and the adjustment screw after the basic alignment has been performed using the adjustment screw.

[0014] The locking can be achieved, for example, by a locking screw that passes through the adjustment wheel and is received in a thread of the adjustment screw. The locking screw can be self-locking to ensure the locking of the adjustment wheel and adjustment screw relative to each other. The locking screw can also be glued to the receiving thread.

[0015] As an alternative to, or in combination with, securing by means of a locking screw, the locking can also be achieved by a positive engagement of the adjusting wheel with the adjusting screw. For this purpose, the adjusting screw can, for example, have a positive-locking opening, which can also be used, for example, to set the home position or to temporarily accommodate a correspondingly designed tool. For example, such a holder can have a polygonal cross-section to accommodate a polygonal tool or, after setting the home position and positioning the adjusting wheel, to accommodate a polygonal extension of the adjusting wheel.

[0016] The adjustment wheel can interact with a locking mechanism fixed to the jaw. Such a locking mechanism can typically be overridden by the user initiating rotation of the adjustment wheel.

[0017] The locking mechanism can, for example, operate on its own or at least in the adjustment wheel's home position. This also provides a haptic signal to the user as soon as the home position is reached.

[0018] In one possible embodiment, the locking device can have a protruding, spring-loaded locking projection that engages a locking recess in the adjustment wheel. For this purpose, the locking projection can be formed on a separate spring part that can be attached to the associated pliers jaw for interaction with the adjustment wheel. Furthermore, such a spring part can, for example, be a plastic injection-molded part with an elastically resilient section for forming the locking projection.

[0019] Viewed in a direction of rotation of the adjustment wheel, a plurality of locking recesses can be formed on the adjustment wheel. These can, as is also preferred, be provided at equal angular spacing from one another in the direction of rotation. Furthermore, for example, an angle of more than 5° up to 45° can result between two locking recesses following one another in the direction of rotation, and further, for example, approximately 10, 15, or 30°.

[0020] The locking recesses can be designed at different height levels with respect to the direction of rotation. Starting from the basic position in one direction of rotation of the adjustment wheel, a continuous increase in the height level viewed in the direction of the rotation axis can be achieved. of the following locking recesses, and in the opposite direction of rotation, there should be a continuous reduction in the height of the locking recesses following in this direction. The height is defined by the distance, viewed in the direction of the rotation axis, between the bottom of the locking recess and a plane transverse to the rotation axis.

[0021] The increase or decrease in the height level can be accompanied by an increase or decrease in the spring force of the locking device that has to be overcome. For example, Starting from the basic position, a positive twist direction will increase the cutting edge spacing, accompanied by a decreasing height of the corresponding recesses and a corresponding reduction in the spring force of the locking device. An opposite twist in the negative twist direction, for example, leads to a reduction in the cutting edge spacing. The resulting reduction in the height of the recesses and the associated increase in the spring force of the locking device provide the user with a haptic signal that a critical spacing reduction is taking place, which could potentially result in damage to the electrical conductor being exposed.

[0022] The rotation of the adjustment wheel can be limited to a specific angle range. Preferably, the basic orientation, which is marked with a further preference, is located in the center of the possible angle range.

[0023] In a preferred embodiment, the rotation angle range is less than 360°. Thus, a rotation angle range of, for example, 90° or more, further For example, up to 180° or 270° can be given. Furthermore, a rotation angle range of approximately 210° or 225° can be given.

[0024] Over the limited angle of rotation range, 10 or more, for example up to 20 or more, further for example 15 locking recesses can be provided, preferably evenly spaced from one another.

[0025] The limitation of the rotatability can be achieved by a positive engagement between the setting wheel and the associated jaw, further for example by a projection formed on the underside of the setting wheel, which engages in a length-limited groove in the jaw.

[0026] Alternatively, the locking recesses can also be formed, for example, on the pliers jaw and the spring-loaded locking projection on the side of the adjustment wheel that interacts with them. To limit the rotatability, a projection can also be formed on the pliers jaw, which engages a length-limited groove in the adjustment wheel.

[0027] The adjustment screw can act directly on the associated cutting jaw. Alternatively, only an indirect effect is possible, for example, in a configuration in which one or both cutting jaws are or can be acted upon by a sliding shoe on the outside of the cutting jaw in a direction of travel relative to one another.

[0028] In the case of such a design, the adjusting screw can act indirectly on the associated cutting jaw via the sliding shoe.

[0029] The ranges, value ranges, or multiple ranges specified above and below also include all intermediate values with regard to the disclosure, in particular in 1 / 10 increments of the respective dimension, thus possibly also dimensionless. For example, the specification 90 to 270° also includes the disclosure of 90.1 to 270°, 90 to 269.9°, 90.1 to 269.9°, etc. This disclosure can serve, on the one hand, to delimit a specified range limit from below and / or above, but alternatively or additionally, to disclose one or more singular values from a respectively specified range. Description of the embodiments

[0031] Shown and described, initially with reference to Figure 1, is a wire stripping pliers 1 with two jaws 2, 3 and two handle parts 4, 5. The jaws 2 and 3 define a jaw ZM.

[0032] The pliers jaw 2, which is referred to below as fixed, is directly and firmly connected to the handle part 4 via a cheek area 6.

[0033] In the cheek area 6, the stripping pliers 1 offer a bearing for a rotation axis 7 with a geometric axis x, around which the pliers jaw 3, referred to below as movable, is rotatably mounted.

[0034] The mounting of the movable jaw 3 on the rotation axis 7 results in the region of a shoulder region 8 of the movable jaw 3 extending in the direction of extension of the axis x in projection to the cheek region 6 of the fixed jaw 2.

[0035] The open position of the pliers jaw, for example as shown in Figure 2, is limited by a stop, due to the support of a projection area 9 of the movable pliers jaw 3 on an associated support surface 10 of the fixed pliers jaw 2.

[0036] The further handle part 5 is pivotally mounted about a further geometric axis y, which is aligned parallel to the rotation axis 7 or its geometric axis x. The corresponding physical axis is also in the Cheek area 6 of the fixed pliers jaw 2 or the fixed handle part 4.

[0037] The movable handle part 5 is pivotable about the axis y in the direction of the fixed handle part 4, wherein a pivoting displacement of the movable handle part 5 in the direction of the fixed handle part 4 causes a coupled rotational movement of the movable jaw 3 about the axis x.

[0038] For this purpose, a control lever 11 is attached to the movable handle part 5, which acts with its free end indirectly on an extension arm 13 of the shoulder area 8 of the movable jaw 3.

[0039] The control lever 11 is pivotally mounted on the movable handle 5. The pivot axis preferably runs parallel to the geometric rotation axis x.

[0040] A return spring 14, preferably in the form of a leg spring, acts between the control lever 11 and the movable handle 5. This spring biases the movable handle 5 toward the basic position of the stripping pliers shown in Figure 2.

[0041] Furthermore, the movable handle part 5 acts via a countersink 16 on a cutting edge 17 pivotally mounted in the cheek region 6 of the fixed jaw 2. The cutting edge 17 is mounted in the cheek region 6. The corresponding geometric axis z also runs parallel to the geometric rotational axis x of the movable jaw 3.

[0042] The cutting edge 17 is exposed in a cut-out area 18 of the fixed jaw 3 or the cheek area 6 and serves preferably for cutting a cable to length, for example a cable that is to be stripped in a further step.

[0043] The cutting edge 17 can interact with a fixed counter cutting edge 15 fixed to the pliers jaw 3.

[0044] Due to the pivoting movement of the cutting edge 17 during the pivoting displacement of the movable handle part 5 in the direction of the fixed handle part 4, a cable which may be located in the area 18 is severed by the pivoted cutting edge 17, with the cable being supported on the flanks of the cheek area 6 which delimit the area 18 and / or by bearing against the counter cutting edge 15.

[0045] The two pliers jaws 2 and 3 each have an outer clamping jaw 19 and 20 for clamping a free end of a cable 21 inserted into the pliers jaws ZM for stripping, see Figures 9 to 14.

[0046] In addition, with reference to the arrangement of the clamping jaws 19 and 20 relative to the geometric axis of rotation x, two inner cutting jaws 22 and 23 are provided, each with cutting edges 24 and 25 fixed in the end region facing the clamping jaws 19 and 20. The cutting edges 24 and 25 are arranged with their cutting edges 32 and 33 facing each other.

[0047] The cutting jaws 22 and 23 are combined to form a pair of cutting jaws 26 and are connected to one another in the region of the ends facing away from the cutting edges 24 and 25 via a pivot axis 27, which pivot axis 27 allows the cutting jaws 22 and 23 to be pivoted relative to one another.

[0048] The geometric axis of the pivot axis 27 extends in the operational arrangement of the cutting jaw pair 26 preferably in parallel alignment to the rotation axis x of the movable pliers jaw 3.

[0049] A spring 28, for example in the form of a cylinder compression spring, is arranged between the cutting jaws 22 and 23, which spring 28 loads the cutting jaws 22 and 23 into an open position spaced apart from one another as shown in Figure 2.

[0050] In the illustrated embodiment, a stop slide 29 is provided on the lower cutting jaw 22, which can be locked in the direction of extension of the cutting jaw 22, for providing a stop for the free end of the cable 21 inserted into the pliers jaw ZM, in order to reproducibly define the length of the area to be stripped.

[0051] The cutting jaws 22 and 23 are guided laterally in the respective pliers jaw 2, 3, to enable a proper sliding displacement of the cutting jaws 22 and 23 in the direction of their longitudinal extent, ie starting from a position spaced from the clamping jaws 19 and 20 into an end position displaced in the direction of the rotation axis x and from this end position back into the starting position.

[0052] A pull rod 30 is provided for this displacement of the cutting jaws 22 and 23, preferably of the cutting jaw pair 26 as a whole.

[0053] The control lever 11 is articulated with its free end in an end region of the pull rod 30, so that the pull rod 30 and, via this, the pair of cutting jaws 26 can be acted upon by pivoting the movable handle part 5.

[0054] The pull rod 30 is supported (initially and essentially in the basic position of the stripping pliers 1) on a bridge section 31 of the movable jaw extension arm 13, so that the cutting jaws 22 and 23 can be displaced from an initial position to an end position when the handle parts 4 and 5 are pressed together against the force of the return spring 14.

[0055] The upper cutting jaw 23 in the illustrations rests against a facing sliding surface 33 of the movable pliers jaw 3, along which sliding surface 33 the cutting jaw 23 can slide supported by the pull rod 30 during the displacement.

[0056] The lower cutting jaw 22 also finds such a facing sliding surface 34, but not directly on the facing fixed pliers jaw 2, but on a sliding shoe 35 provided for this purpose. The sliding shoe 35 is pivotally mounted on the fixed pliers jaw 2 about an axis 37 parallel to the pivot axis x.

[0057] The support of the sliding shoe 35 on the fixed jaw 2 is provided by an adjusting screw 38, which is held on the fixed jaw 2 by means of an external thread 39 which engages positively in a threaded opening 40 of the fixed jaw 2.

[0058] The adjusting screw 38 has a dome-shaped support section 41 pointing toward the sliding block 36. Viewed in the direction of the rotational axis t of the adjusting screw 38, opposite the support section 41, the adjusting screw 38 is provided with a form-fitting opening 42, for example, a polygonal opening.

[0059] The form-locking opening 42 is suitable for receiving a correspondingly designed tool 52, by means of which an adjustment or initial setting of the cutting jaw pair 26 can be carried out by displacing the adjusting screw 38 along its axis of rotation t.

[0060] For example, a basic position can be set, for example by the manufacturer, but also possibly within the scope of normal use by the user himself, with respect to the distance a between the cutting edges 32 and 33 of the cutting edges 24 and 25. This basic position can be, as indicated, for example, in Figure 5, the position of the stripping pliers 1 in which the clamping jaws 19 and 20 are adjacent to one another.

[0061] From this set basic position, a proper stripping of cables 21 with different diameters can be reliably achieved, in accordance with the specified working range of the stripping pliers 1, without damaging the strands 44 to be exposed by cutting into or through the insulation sheath 43.

[0062] The adjusting screw 38 can be connected to an adjusting wheel 45, via which a readjustment can be made from the basic position of the adjusting screw 38 if necessary, for example due to unfavorable conditions, for example unfavorable climatic conditions, and / or in the case of small cable diameters.

[0063] The adjusting wheel 45 can be inserted into a recess 48 formed in the fixed jaw 2, which is open at the edge, wherein preferably during the insertion an alignment of the adjusting wheel 45 relative to a marking 46 on the fixed jaw 2 indicating the basic position For this purpose, the adjusting wheel 45 has a counter-marking 47 on an upper side facing away from the adjusting screw 38.

[0064] The adjustment wheel 45 can be gripped in the area of the recess 48, which is open to the side surfaces of the pliers jaws, for rotation. The corresponding edge area of the adjustment wheel 45 can be provided with a knurling 49, for example, for improved handling.

[0065] The adjusting wheel 45 can be fixed in place relative to the adjusting screw 38. For this purpose, a positive engagement can initially be provided, for which purpose the adjusting wheel 45 has a positive engagement projection 51 on the underside 50 facing the adjusting screw 38, which centrally receives the rotation axis t and engages the positive engagement opening 42 of the adjusting screw 38.

[0066] In the course of arranging the adjusting wheel 45 on the adjusting screw 38 and thereby establishing the positive engagement, the counter-marking 47 of the adjusting wheel 45 is preferably aligned with the marking 46.

[0067] The positive engagement is finally secured by a locking screw 53, which passes through a central bore 55 of the adjustment wheel 45 and engages a thread 54 of the adjustment screw 38 (see Figure 7). This can be a screw with a self-locking thread. Alternatively, an adhesive applied to the thread can be used for further securing.

[0068] The rotatability of the adjusting wheel 45 and the adjusting screw 38 connected to it in a form-fitting manner is in the usual use The position of the stripping pliers 1 is limited to a predetermined angle of rotation a of, for example, approximately 190 to 200°. For this purpose, the adjusting wheel 45 can have a projection 56 on its underside 50, which engages in a length-limited groove 57 in the facing surface of the fixed jaw 2 (see Figures 7 and 8).

[0069] Starting from the basic position shown, for example, in Figure 8, the adjustment device E formed by the adjustment wheel 45 and the adjustment screw 38 can be rotated in both directions of rotation up to the respective rotation stop and thus, for example, by approximately 100° in each case. As can also be seen, further markings 58 and 59 can be provided on the upper side next to the counter marking 47, which indicate a plus direction of rotation P and a minus direction of rotation M. These markings are intended to indicate to the user, for example, that rotating the adjustment device E from the basic position in the "minus" direction causes a (further) reduction of the distance a between the cutting edges 32 and 33, and rotating the adjustment device E from the basic position in the "plus" direction causes a (further) increase of this distance a.

[0070] By rotating the adjustment device E from its basic position, a change in the cutting edge distance a can be achieved by linearly displacing the adjustment screw 38 along its rotational axis t in the range of 1 / 100 of a millimeter to a few 1 / 10 of a millimeter. Such a linear displacement of the adjustment screw 38 is accompanied by a corresponding pivoting alignment of the sliding shoe 36, due to the support on the adjustment screw 38, and thus a corresponding alignment of the sliding surface 35 for the lower cutting jaw 22.

[0071] The adjusting wheel 45 and thus the entire adjusting device E can be locked in several circumferential positions, in particular in the basic position in which the marking 46 on the pliers jaw side and the counter-marking 47 of the adjusting wheel 45 coincide.

[0072] A locking device 60 may be provided, which interacts with the adjustment wheel 45 in different rotational angle positions. The locking device 60 may be a plastic element comprising a base 61 and a locking projection 62 attached to the base 61, which is spring-loaded and deflectable essentially in alignment with the rotational axis t of the adjustment device E.

[0073] The locking device 60, which is received and held in a depression 63 of the fixed jaw 2 provided on the bottom in the area of the recess 48, can be an injection-molded part made of an elastically resilient plastic.

[0074] The locking projection 62 of the locking device 60 interacts with locking recesses 64 formed on the underside 50 of the adjusting wheel 45. As can be seen from Figures 15 and 17, the adjusting wheel 45 can have fifteen locking recesses 64 evenly spaced from one another in the circumferential direction, with a central locking recess 64' viewed in the circumferential direction being assigned to the orientation of the adjusting wheel 64 in the home position.

[0075] The locking recesses 64 are initially and essentially identical in design, in particular with regard to their floor plans, in which floor plan the rotation axis t appears as a point, as well as with regard to their respective Depth b viewed perpendicular to the plan view between a recess valley 66 and a surrounding recess edge 65.

[0076] Furthermore, the locking recesses 64 are formed at different heights with regard to the positioning of their recess edges 65 and with reference to the overall surrounding surface of the underside 50. With reference to the previously described surface, different distances c result from the respective recess edge 65, viewed in the direction of the rotation axis t. Starting from a last locking recess 64 viewed in the circumferential direction, this distance c continuously decreases from the locking recess 64 to the next locking recess 64 in the circumferential direction or increases in the opposite circumferential direction. Thus, starting from one end of the locking recess arrangement, the distance c of the locking recesses 64 can approximately double or halve towards the other end, for example, starting from approximately 0.5 to 2 mm to approximately 1 to 4 mm.

[0077] In this case, as is also preferred, the circumferentially central locking recess 64' can, with respect to its recess edge 65, lie essentially at the level of the surrounding surface of the underside 50, from which the distance c increases in the positive direction of rotation P such that an increasing distance of the recess edge beyond the underside 50 results. Again starting from the central locking recess 64', the distance decreases continuously in the negative direction of rotation M, resulting in an increasing lowering of the recess edge below the underside 50 (see Figures 19 to 22).

[0078] The arrangement of the locking recesses 64 at different height levels (increasing or decreasing in the circumferential direction) veaus gives the user a haptic signal when operating the adjustment device E of increasing or decreasing spring force, which is necessary to overrun a detent position.

[0079] In an alternative embodiment, the adjustment wheel 45 can be connected to the adjustment screw 38 in a non-destructive manner, so that after a factory setting of the basic position by the user, for example, access to the adjustment screw 38 defining the basic setting is no longer permitted. Only fine adjustment via the adjustment wheel 45 is then possible.

[0080] The basic functionality of the stripping pliers 1 is described below with reference to Figures 9 to 14. Figures 9 to 11 show the function during the stripping of a cable 21 with a comparatively large diameter d, and Figures 12 to 14 show the function for a cable 21 with a comparatively small diameter d.

[0081] Depending on the total diameter d of the cable 21, the thickness of the insulation sheath 43 to be cut or cut through, viewed in the diameter direction, also results, essentially in a fixed ratio.

[0082] With the pivoting displacement of the movable handle part 5 about its axis y in the direction of the fixed handle part 4 (see pivoting direction f, for example, in Figure 10), the control lever 11 acts on the pull rod 30. The pull rod 30 is supported via an actuating end 70 initially on the bridge section 31 of the jaw-side extension arm 13, so that the movable handle part 5 is pivotally displaced indirectly on the extension arm 13 and the jaw 3 rigidly connected to it. This leads to a closing of the pliers jaws ZM into a clamping position in which the clamping jaws 19 and 20 grip the cable 21.

[0083] In the course of the pivoting displacement of the pliers jaws, the cutting jaws 22 and 23 are also pivoted to the same extent about their pivot axis 27 via the sliding surfaces 34 and 35 of the pliers jaw 3 or the sliding shoe 36, so that in the clamping position according to Figure 9 or also according to Figure 12, the sheaths 24 and 25 cut into the insulation sheath 43 without damaging the strands 44 to be exposed.

[0084] Depending on the path of the cutting edges 32 and 33 in the circumferential direction of the cable 21, the cutting can be performed essentially completely circumferentially. With straight cutting edges 32 and 33, as used for example in the described embodiment, each cutting edge 32 and 33 can also produce a secant-like cutting action, whereby initially, tear-off webs can remain essentially diametrically opposite each other.

[0085] In the cable clamping position according to Figure 9 or 12, a further pivoting displacement of the movable jaw 3 and, via this, also of the cutting jaw pair 26 in the direction of a closed position of the jaws is prevented. This leads to the fact that in the course of further actuation of the movable handle part 5 and the associated further pivoting thereof (pivoting direction f) beyond this clamping position, the pull rod 30, which continues to be actuated via the control lever 11, initially slides along the bridge section 31 in the direction r to a free end 67 of the fixed handle part 4 (compare Figure 10 or Figure 13), until it reaches an end position in which the pull rod 30 loses its support on the bridge section 31 and, with the actuating end 70, moves into a direction r between the bridge section 31 and an adjoining control section 68, which is also rigidly formed on the boom 13, falls into the remaining free space 69 (compare Figures 11 and 14 respectively).

[0086] As a result of the associated further tensile displacement of the tension rod 30 in the direction r, the pair of cutting jaws 26 is also linearly displaced while maintaining the cutting position, so that, if necessary by tearing off any tear-off webs remaining in the course of the cutting, the end section 71 of the insulation sheath 43 is pulled off the conductor or the strands 44 and the conductor is thus exposed.

[0087] Upon reaching the overrun position, in which the drawbar 30 loses its support on the cantilever-side bridge section 31, the restoring force of the spring 28, previously tensioned during the closing process, between the cutting jaws 22 and 23 causes a pivoting return of the cutting jaws 22 and 23, and via this, a pivoting return of the movable pliers jaw 3 in particular, toward the starting position. The pliers jaw ZM is opened, the cable 21 with the stripped end is exposed, and the severed and removed section 71 of the insulation sheath 43 is ejected.

[0088] When the movable handle part 5 is no longer subjected to pressure, it returns to its initial position due to the restoring force of the return spring 14, while the pull rod 30 is dragged along by the control lever 11. As the pull rod-side pressure end 70 slides off the control section 68, the pull rod 30 receives an impulse for linear return displacement opposite to the direction of the arrow r. The pair of cutting jaws 26 is accordingly returned to the initial position, for example, as shown in Figure 2.
