Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the separation of RP and / or SP remdesivir from a RP-SP isomeric mixture by liquid-liquid chromatography (LLC) using a two-phase, binary, ternary or quaternary solvent system. Binary solvent systems consist of an alkanoate ester with 3-6 carbon atoms and an aqueous solution containing a water solubility-enhancing additive and a pH-regulating excipient. The ternary solvent systems consist of an alkane with 5-8 carbon atoms, a furane-type aromatic heterocyclic compound or an alkanoate ester with 3-6 carbon atoms, and an aqueous solution containing a water-solubility-enhancing additive and / or a pH-value regulating excipient. The quaternary solvent systems consist of an alkane with 5-8 carbon atoms, a furane-type aromatic heterocyclic compound and an additional third organic co- solvent component. The ternary solvent systems may contain an aqueous solution containing a water- solubility-enhancing additive and / or a pH-regulating excipient, or may consist of pure water alone without any additives.
