Abstract

An insulating connector for limiting electrical transmission through a scaffolding assembly, the insulating connector including: a connector constructed at least partially from an insulating material, the connector configured to structurally connect two adjacent scaffolding elements together. A scaffolding standard for limiting electrical transmission through a scaffolding assembly, the scaffolding standard including: a tube for standing vertically in a scaffolding assembly; an insulated connector in accordance with any one of the previous claims, the connector mounted and fitted and / or fastened to one end of the tube. A scaffolding transom for limiting electrical transmission through a scaffolding system, the scaffolding transom including: a tube for lying generally laterally in a scaffolding assembly; an insulated connector, the connector mounted and fitted and / or fastened to one end of the tube. A scaffolding assembly configured to limit electrical transmission through the assembly, the system including: a plurality of standards, each one including a hollow tube; a plurality of ledgers, each ledger including an electrically insulating ledger attachment member connected to at least one end for attaching the ledger to the standard; a plurality of transoms, each transom including an electrically-insulating transom beam attachment member connected to at least one end for attaching the transom beam to the standard; at least one platform for connecting to one or more transoms or ledgers for supporting a worker or tools on for working; and, at least one insulating spigot for releasably coupling at least two standards, wherein when the scaffolding assembly is connected to form a scaffolding assembly, electrical conductivity is limited across the assembly.
