Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a combustion device for burning the volatile components of a solid biomaterial fuel charge (22) and recovering the solid carbon of the biomaterial, the combustion device comprising: 1. A charge compartment (18), which opens at its upper part from an opening in the bottom of the combustion chamber (12) into the combustion chamber, and which is arranged inside the charge chamber (13). 2. An air control lip (191), the lower part of which is inside the charge compartment such that a primary air supply gap (193) remains between the inner surface of the upper edge of the charge compartment and the outer surface of the air control lip, which guides the primary air downward along the inner surface of the charge compartment, and the upper part of which is above the upper edge (182) of the charge compartment, and the upper part of which has secondary air openings (192), and which is connected to the metallic structure above the air control lip. 3.An air guide (20) resting freely on the fuel charge, which directs part of the air through the opening in the middle of the air guide to the middle of the charge and part of the air flows under the air guide from the gap between the outer edge of the air guide and the inner surface of the charge compartment. 4. From the top of the combustion chamber of the right cheek duct (14) to the charge chamber. Hot flue gases are led into the charge chamber along the cheek duct to heat the charge container from the outside, whereby the fuel charge is pyrolyzed inside the charge compartment and the pyrolysis gases burn in the combustion chamber under the influence of secondary air.
