AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing shaving assemblies face challenges in providing a comfortable and efficient shave by maintaining shaving blades in a cutting zone while allowing for movement and adapting to facial curves, with existing mechanisms being either inefficient or cumbersome.

Method used

The assembly of the shaving head and handle is achieved by magnetic force using pairs of magnets in repulsion or attraction positions, with the shaving blades suspended by magnetic attraction or counter-magnetized pairs, allowing for adjustable pressure on the blades through screw rods and pivoting mechanisms, enabling them to follow facial curves.

Benefits of technology

The magnetic suspension system allows for efficient and comfortable shaving by maintaining blades in the cutting zone and adapting to facial contours, enhancing shaving performance.

Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly comprising a blade holder cartridge (15); a shaving head (1), equipped with a magnetic suspension consisting of pairs of magnets (2, 4) and (5, 3) in an attractive position; and a handle (16) assembled to said head by means of a joint composed of a cup (20) and a ball joint (25) having pairs of connecting magnets (21, 22) and (23, 24) in a repulsive position. Shaving is performed using shaving blades (13, 14), positioned in the blade holder cartridge (15), which bear against the magnets (4, 5) that exert pressure on them to ensure a comfortable shave. This pressure can be adjusted using the dials (8, 9) associated with the screw rods (6, 7).

Description

The present invention relates to wet shaving sets consisting of a handle and a shaving head adapted to be coupled with a blade holder cartridge. French patent no. 90 04781, to which this certificate of addition is attached, relates to shaving sets characterized by the fact that the handle and the shaving head are joined by magnetic attraction using magnets, and by the fact that the shaving head comprises -on the one hand, a suspension, consisting of pairs of magnets in a repulsive position or of springs, allowing the razor blades to be held in a cutting zone while allowing their movement under the effect of shaving -two wheels, each associated with a screw rod, allowing the force of pressure exerted on the shaving blades by said suspension to be modified. The purpose of this addition is to propose shaving assemblies characterized by the fact that the assembly of the shaving head and the handle is achieved by the magnetic force generated by pairs of magnets in a repulsive position and by the fact that the suspension of the shaving blades is achieved by the magnetic attraction force generated by pairs of magnets in an attractive position or, according to a variant, by pairs consisting of a magnet and a non-magnetic counter-plate in an attractive position. The magnetic force constituting said suspension can be achieved by separating the two elements constituting said pairs or by sliding one of the elements on the other The invention will now be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, given by way of non-limiting examples, in which: Figure 1 is a partial, longitudinal cross-sectional view of a shaving head with magnetic suspension by spacing. Figure 2 is a front view of the magnet against which a razor blade rests. Figure 3 is a front view of the second fixed magnet Figure 4 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a shaving assembly with sliding suspension Figure 1 shows; in 1 a shaving head comprising magnets 2, 3 (according to section BR FIG3) and magnets 4, 5 (according to section AA FIG: 2), associated with wheels 8, 9 allowing them to be moved back and forth, in an attractive position to generate a magnetic force constituting a suspension, in a zone 10, 11, for the shaving blades 13, 14 of the blade holder cartridge 15; in 12 a tenon holding the magnets 2, 3 and 4, 5 Figure 2 shows, at point 4, a magnet having an opening 19 allowing its assembly to the screw rod 6 and a groove 18 allowing the razor blade 13 to bear against it Figure 3 shows at point 2 a magnet with an opening 17 allowing the passage of the razor blade 13 Figure 4 shows; at points 21, 22, 23, and 24, pairs of magnets in a repulsive position ensuring the assembly of the handle 16 to the shaving head 1; at points 27, 28, 26, and 29, pairs of magnets in an attractive position to generate a magnetic force constituting a suspension The handle 16 is assembled to the shaving head 1 by forcing the ball joint 25 into the cup 20 of said handle, the repulsive force of the pairs of magnets 21, 22 and 23, 24 ensuring that said shaving head is held in the different positions resulting from its pivoting in said cup. The adaptation of the shaving unit to the nature of the beard is achieved using the wheels 8,9 associated with the screw rods 6,7 by moving the magnets 4,5 or 28,29 forward or backward, which has the effect of modifying the pressure, thereby suspending the shaving blades 13,14, which constitutes the magnetic force generated by said magnets. The suspension allows the 13 and 14 razor blades to instantly detect and follow the different curves of the face for a comfortable and efficient shave. It is understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and illustrated and that modifications may be made to them without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, the fixed magnet 2,3 may consist of two small magnets between which the shaving blades 13,14 move.
