Description

Title of the invention: Cosmetic case comprising an applicator holder with a clip-on lid

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic device, in particular for making up keratin materials, in particular but not limited to the skin and / or the eyelids, of the type comprising a body defining a housing for receiving the cosmetic product and an applicator holder pivotally connected to the body around a hinge axis.

[0002] More generally, a cosmetic product is a product as defined in Regulation EC No. 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council dated November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products. Technological background

[0003] In the field of the invention, US 2,446,080 discloses a container comprising a reserve of loose powder and a powder puff. The container comprises a container body for housing the loose powder and a lid for closing the container, the lid being hinged to the container body. The lid comprises a pocket for the powder puff formed between a partial partition and an inner surface of the lid. The partition is profiled at its free edge to allow the operator's thumb to grip the powder puff.

[0004] Document KR 20-0478937 discloses a cosmetic container comprising a container body containing a cosmetic product and a puff storage portion coupled to the container body for covering and protecting the cosmetic product and allowing a puff to be placed.

[0005] The puff storage portion includes a lower portion on which the puff rests and a cover for covering at least a portion of the upper surface of the puff.

[0006] The puff storage portion is rotatably coupled to the container body. The direction in which the puff is stored in the puff storage portion is parallel to the rotation axis of the puff storage portion, so that the puff cannot be released from the puff storage portion when the puff storage portion is rotated. A disadvantage of this container is that the gesture for removing the puff is not completely convenient. The user must perform two different gestures to put his fingers under the gripping strip of the puff and then remove it from the storage area.

[0007] Document KR20190002187 discloses a compact housing comprising: a cylindrical housing body comprising a cosmetic composition cup, and a A powder puff holding unit that preserves a powder puff; a housing cover hingedly coupled to one side of the housing body, having a mirror fixed in the center, and opened and closed at a predetermined angle; and a hinge opening and closing the housing cover. The housing prevents contamination of the mirror caused by contact between the mirror and the powder puff inside the housing by storing the powder puff in a pocket to reduce direct contact with the mirror.

[0008] Document KR20180064251 discloses a cosmetic case comprising a A powder puff storage unit comprising: an upper housing having a mirror; a lower housing connected to the upper housing by a hinge; a storage unit receivable between the upper housing and the lower housing and comprising a powder puff storage unit and a cosmetic composition storage unit; the storage unit being mounted in a refill located between the upper housing and the lower housing. The non-sealed, non-rotatable refill can only be placed in one position.

[0009] Document KR101885213 discloses a housing body in which is housed an impregnated sponge arranged on a support by a cosmetic composition and a cover intended to be opened and closed on the housing body and on which a mirror is installed. The sponge support has only one predefined position.

[0010] Document KR200483748 discloses a container body in which a first cosmetic is housed; and a pivotable lid portion for opening and closing the container body. The lid portion includes a storage member for receiving a second cosmetic product, and an applicator storage member partially covered by a wall for housing a cosmetic applicator. The applicator storage member is disposed in a predetermined fixed position.

[0011] Document KR200479403 discloses a cosmetic case provided with a non-adjustable applicator holder.

[0012] Document KR200478937 discloses a container body in which the cosmetic product is housed; and an applicator storage unit coupled to the container body for covering and protecting the cosmetic product, and for allowing the applicator to be disposed. The applicator storage unit includes a lower portion on which the applicator is disposed, and a cover surrounding at least a portion of an upper surface of the applicator. The applicator storage unit is hinged to the container body. It covers the upper surface of the cosmetic product contained in the container body, such that the product and the applicator do not come into contact with each other during storage. The applicator storage unit is fixed in a predetermined position.

[0013] Document US2446080 discloses a non-waterproof and non-orientable refill placed in a housing.

[0014] Patent application WO2020253967A1 filed by the Applicant discloses a cosmetic device intended to contain a cosmetic product, the device comprising:

[0015] - a body defining a housing for receiving the cosmetic product,

[0016] - an applicator holder pivotally connected to the body around an axis articulation, the applicator holder comprising a base for supporting the applicator and a cover for partially covering the applicator when it is present in the applicator holder,

[0017] wherein the cover together with the base define an insertion axis for inserting the applicator into the applicator holder, the angle between the insertion axis and the hinge axis ranging from 60° to 120°.

[0018] There is a need to allow the consumer to choose the orientation of the applicator's withdrawal direction.

[0019] There is a need to facilitate the maintenance and use of an applicator in the device, with an insertion and extraction direction organized so as to minimize the number of manipulations by the user.

[0020] There is a need to allow the consumer to choose the orientation of the applicator holder, in order to improve the grip and removal of the applicator, for example depending on whether she is left-handed or right-handed.

[0021] There is a need to allow the consumer the possibility of adapting the extraction / deposition position of the applicator according to the usage gesture that she prefers.

[0022] There is a need to provide a device for housing the applicator in an applicator holder adapted to its extraction and its return to position, in an ergonomic manner.

[0023] There is a need to adapt the lid of a refill by organizing the directions of extraction of the applicator and the way of holding it.

[0024] There is a need for a new cosmetic device allowing easy removal of the applicator from the applicator holder.

[0025] Another need is to provide a cosmetic device comprising a mirror on an inner face of the cover with a reduced risk of soiling with the cosmetic product when removing the applicator from the applicator holder. Definition of invention

[0026] Cosmetic device

[0027] Exemplary embodiments of the present invention aim to satisfy at least one of these needs by proposing a cosmetic device intended to contain a cosmetic product, the device comprising:

[0028] - a body defining a housing for receiving the cosmetic product,

[0029] - an applicator holder pivotally connected to the body around an axis articulation, the applicator holder comprising a base for supporting the applicator and a cover for partially covering the applicator when it is present in the applicator holder,

[0030] the cover being assembled on the base.

[0031] Thanks to the invention, the applicator holder is adjustable to allow marketing or the consumer to choose the orientation of the applicator withdrawal direction, for example depending on whether the person is right-handed or left-handed.

[0032] The cover being attached to the base, for example by being clippable, unclippable, adjustable in several chosen positions or free of choice. The consumer can thus adapt the extraction / deposition position of the applicator according to their preferred usage gesture.

[0033] The applicator holder is preferably configured to close, in a closed configuration, an upper opening of a housing or housing refill, and, in this case, the base supports the applicator at least in the closed configuration of the applicator holder.

[0034] In other words, the base is positioned under the applicator in the closed configuration of the applicator holder to support it, when the body of the cosmetic device rests on a surface.

[0035] The applicator holder can completely cover the body of the housing.

[0036] The housing for receiving the cosmetic product may have a substantially cylindrical shape and the applicator may have a circular outline with a diameter adapted to the internal diameter of the housing defined between the cover and the base.

[0037] The device advantageously comprises:

[0038] - a housing for housing the body,

[0039] - a cover pivotally connected to the housing around a hinge axis so that the hinge axis of the cover is perpendicular to the hinge axis of the applicator holder.

[0040] The invention also relates to a cosmetic case, comprising a device described above, the device forming a refill.

[0041] The applicator holder and the body may together form a removable refill, may be packaged separately before insertion into the device.

[0042] The applicator is advantageously a puff, for example a foam puff.

[0043] The applicator preferably comprises a gripping strip, better still a textile gripping strip, fixed to a face of the applicator opposite an application face.

[0044] The gripping strip is preferably secured at its two ends to opposite regions of the periphery of the applicator.

[0045] The user may place fingers, for example two fingers, under the gripping strip, between the gripping strip and the face of the applicator opposite the application face, to grip the applicator.

[0046] This gesture can be followed in the same fluid movement along the withdrawal axis, which coincides with the insertion axis, by withdrawing the applicator from the applicator holder in order to load the application face of the applicator with product so as to apply makeup.

[0047] The cover of the applicator holder has, for example, a crescent moon shape, concave towards the outside.

[0048] Alternatively, the cover of the applicator holder may have a free edge of a shape chosen from the group consisting of a rectilinear, convex and concave shape, or any combination of these shapes.

[0049] The cover may extend over the applicator by a distance ranging from 0.5 cm to 2 cm, measured from the outline of the applicator in a radial direction towards the center of the applicator.

[0050] The insertion axis of the applicator may be an axis of symmetry of the cover of the applicator holder.

[0051] The device advantageously comprises a mirror fixed on an internal face of the cover.

[0052] In such a case, the invention reduces the risk of soiling the mirror when a user removes the applicator from the applicator holder due to the orientation of the insertion axis.

[0053] The base of the applicator holder may be bowl-shaped.

[0054] This shape may be complementary to the outline of the applicator to help hold in place in the applicator holder.

[0055] The cosmetic product may be a foundation, a blush or an eye shadow.

[0056] The cosmetic product impregnates, for example, a compressible and porous material.

[0057] The cosmetic product may contain any type of pigments, for example oxides of iron.

[0058] The applicator holder comprises a joint for rotary connection with the body.

[0059] The applicator holder preferably comprises a gripping latch for making pivot the applicator holder relative to the body, said latch being advantageously positioned opposite the articulation of the applicator holder.

[0060] The latch may make it easier for the user to pivot the applicator holder relative to the body.

[0061] The articulation of the applicator holder may project relative to the rest of the applicator holder.

[0062] In this case, and when the cosmetic device comprises a case, the latter may comprise a cavity for housing the articulation of the applicator holder.

[0063] This cavity may be positioned diametrically opposite the latch, if desired. When viewing the cosmetic device, the cavity may be on either the left or right side and the latch is then on the right or left side, respectively. The first configuration may be advantageous for a right-handed user. The second configuration may be advantageous for a left-handed user.

[0064] Makeup method

[0065] The invention also relates, according to another aspect, to a method for making up keratin materials, preferably the skin, using a cosmetic device as defined above, comprising:

[0066] - optionally, assemble the cover on the base in a first position,

[0067] - remove the applicator along an insertion axis,

[0068] - collect the cosmetic product with the applicator,

[0069] - make up keratin materials,

[0070] - reinsert the applicator into the applicator holder along the insertion axis,

[0071] - possibly disassemble the cover and the base,

[0072] - optionally, assemble the cover on the base in a second position.

[0073] When the applicator comprises a gripping strip attached to the face of the applicator opposite the application face, the method may comprise gripping the applicator with the gripping strip to remove the applicator along the insertion axis.

[0074] Case

[0075] The invention also relates to a cosmetic case, comprising a device as described previously, the device forming a refill. Preferred embodiments

[0076] Preferably, the application element according to the invention has one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination:

[0077] According to a first embodiment of the invention:

[0078] The cover comprises a first relief capable of cooperating with a second complementary relief of the base, in order to ensure the assembly of the base and the cover in a predetermined position.

[0079] The cover comprises at least two first reliefs capable of cooperating with at least two second complementary reliefs of the base, in order to immobilize the cover in at least two predetermined angular positions.

[0080] The cover is assembled on the base by clipping, screwing, snapping, force fitting or snapping.

[0081] The cover has a notch cooperating with a complementary hollow located on the base.

[0082] The cover comprises a ring and a transverse wall molded in one piece, the ring being assembled on the base.

[0083] The cover is assembled on the base in a removable manner.

[0084] According to a second embodiment of the invention, the cover is assembled on the base in the absence of a first relief of the cover capable of cooperating with a second complementary relief of the base and the cover assembled on the base is free to rotate relative to the base, to allow the consumer to optimize its orientation. Description of the figures

[0085] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from reading the detailed description which follows, from non-limiting examples of its implementation, and from examining the appended schematic and partial drawing, in which:

[0086] [Fig-1] [Fig.l] is a cross-section of an example of a cosmetic device according to the invention, in a closed configuration,

[0087] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a perspective view from above of the applicator holder of the device shown in [Fig.l],

[0088] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is an inclined perspective view from above of the base of the carrier applicator of [Fig.2],

[0089] [Fig.4] [Fig.4] is a first inclined perspective view from above of the base of the applicator holder of [Fig.2],

[0090] [Fig.5] [Fig.5] is a second inclined perspective view from above of the base of the applicator holder of [Fig.2].

[0091] [Fig.l] shows an exemplary embodiment of a cosmetic device 1 with longitudinal axis X according to the invention, intended to contain a cosmetic product. In the example shown, the device 1 is a cosmetic product refill intended to be introduced into a housing. The housing may comprise a base and a cover 3 pivotally connected around a hinge axis. The housing may comprise a mirror fixed to an internal face of the cover. The housing preferably comprises a push button and the cover 3 comprises a locking tab for locking and unlocking the cover.

[0092] The refill 1 comprises a body 4 defining a housing for receiving the cosmetic product and an applicator holder 5 connected to pivot about a hinge axis Y. The applicator holder 5 forms the cover of the refill 1.

[0093] The applicator holder 5 comprises a base 6 for supporting the applicator at least in the closed configuration of the applicator holder 5, and a cover 8 for partially covering the applicator when it is present in the applicator holder 5, which is not the case in the figures.

[0094] As shown in [Fig.2], the cover 8 and the base 6 define an insertion axis Z for the introduction of the applicator into the applicator holder 5. In this example, the insertion axis Z of the applicator is an axis of symmetry of the cover 8 of the applicator holder 5. In the example, the cover 8 is assembled on the base 6 by clipping.

[0095] In this embodiment, the cover 8 of the applicator holder 5 has the shape of a circular segment, constituting a wall located between a secant line forming a straight free edge 14 of the cover 8 and an arc forming a circular edge 15 of the cover.

[0096] In this embodiment, the applicator (not shown) is a powder puff, with an application face, facing the base 6 of the applicator holder 5, to collect the product from the case and the makeup.

[0097] The applicator comprises another face opposite the application face, visible to the user when he opens the cover 3.

[0098] Where appropriate, the applicator is positioned in the applicator holder 5, so that its gripping strip is substantially perpendicular to the insertion axis Z.

[0099] Still in this embodiment, the applicator holder 5 comprises a gripping latch 122 for pivoting the applicator holder 5 relative to the body 4, said gripping latch 122 being positioned diametrically opposite the articulation 13 of the applicator holder 5.

[0100] [Fig. 3] shows in isolation the base 6 of the applicator holder 5 comprising a substantially flat lower wall 26 and an outer side wall 218 of substantially cylindrical shape of revolution. The cover 8 shown in Figures 4 and 5 comprises a transverse wall 12 and a ring 11 defining a clipping skirt 28 which engages in the annular space 238 constituting a housing formed between the outer side wall 218 and an inner skirt 228 of the base 6 perpendicular to the lower wall 26.

[0101] The cover 8 can be attached to the base 6, for example being fixed thereto by snap-fastening the orientation tooth 16 (or notch 16) of the base 6 into the orientation hollow 18 of the cover 8.

[0102] Of course, the base 6 may comprise several orientation teeth having a shape complementary to that of corresponding hollows provided in the clipping skirt of the cover 8.

[0103] On the contrary, the base 6 may not have any orientation teeth and the cover 8 may not have any orientation recesses. In this case, the cover may be assembled on the base by snapping the clipping skirt 28 into the housing 238.

[0104] Preferably, the clipping skirt 25 of the cover 8 constitutes the side wall of the cover 8.

[0105] The cover 8 may be coupled to the base 6 in a manner other than by clipping, in particular via a bayonet mechanism, by snap-fastening, screwing or by tightening. By "snap-fastening" is meant in particular any system involving the crossing of a bead or cord of material by elastic deformation of a portion, then by return to the elastically unstressed position of said portion after crossing the bead or cord.

[0106] The cosmetic product is for example a foundation, a blush or an eyeshadow, and the cosmetic product can impregnate a compressible and porous material.

[0107] For the use of the cosmetic device 1, initially in a closed configuration, the user opens the cover 3 to bring the cosmetic device 1 into an open configuration. Then, he grasps the applicator with the strip to remove the applicator along the insertion axis Z and he removes the applicator along the insertion axis Z, which is also the removal axis.

[0108] He then pivots the applicator holder 5 while holding the gripping latch 12. He collects the cosmetic product with the applicator and makes up the keratin materials, for example the skin of the face. Once the makeup is done, he pivots the applicator holder 5 into its closed configuration and then reinserts the applicator into the applicator holder 5 along the insertion axis Z.

[0109] Preferably, the refill contains a cushion, the absorbent material being in particular an open-cell foam, in particular an injected foam, for example a polyamide foam (Nylon), a polyurethane foam (PU), a polyacrylonitrile foam (PAN), a polyethylene foam (PE), an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foam or a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) foam or a cluster of fibers, particularly polyethylene and / or polypropylene fibers.

[0110] According to a particular embodiment of the present invention, the refill comprises a screen. The screen can be fixed by welding to the lower cylindrical side wall 27, in particular by ultrasound, on, in particular on said wall.

[0111] The sieve is preferably made of an elastically deformable porous material, in particular a textile or a foam. The flexibility of the sieve material can allow it to deform, in particular under the pressure of the composition, for example during its filling if the filling is carried out from the bottom after fixing the sieve, or after the composition has been deposited in the housing if the sieve is fixed above the composition.

[0112] When the screen is made from a textile, the latter may be a woven, a non-woven or a knit, preferably a woven or a knit. The textile advantageously comprises a mesh of threads, the latter being in particular, or even exclusively, synthetic.

[0113] When the screen is made of a foam, this may be an open-cell polymer foam, for example chosen from the group consisting of polyurethane foams, butadiene rubber (BR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), natural rubber (NR), moistened urethane, dry urethane, polyether, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, polyolefins, in particular polyethylene, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), latex, silicone, styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), silicone elastomer, nitrile rubber, butyl rubber and neoprene, thermoplastic elastomers.

[0114] The screen may have undergone a treatment, with or without a roller, thermal or not, with or without the application of pressure, so as to create a relief and / or modify the surface appearance and / or the porosity properties of the screen. Such a treatment may be stamping, embossing, calendering, or other. It is possible, as a variant or in addition, to apply, for example by gluing or printing, at least one element, in particular a swelling ink, to at least one surface of the screen, so as to seal at least one part of it. It is also possible to print on the surface, in particular the external surface, of the screen.

[0115] The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown.

[0116] The body 4 may have another shape, not being cylindrical for example. The cover 8 of the applicator holder 5 may have a free edge 14 of a shape chosen from the group consisting of a rectilinear shape, a convex and concave shape, or any combination of these shapes. The cover 8 may have a free edge 14 having a wave shape with a concave central shape and convex lateral shapes. The cover 8 may cover a larger part of the applicator than in the embodiments shown. The base 6 may be cup-shaped or have a shape adapted to the applicator, being complementary to it.
