Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Composition of oils for the care of keratinous material Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a composition of various oils for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair. The present invention also relates to a use of at least two specific oils. Context
[0002] Keratinous materials are widely present on the surface of the human body, for example on the skin, scalp and hair. Many people have long sought to refresh the surface of the body, in order to feel comfortable in everyday life and at work. Among other things, the sticky / greasy feeling, especially that of the hair, is of particular concern to many people. Accordingly, various products are developed to treat the sticky or greasy feeling of people.
[0003] In keratinous materials on the surface of the body, the scalp and hair are particularly susceptible to greasiness. Various formulations have been developed to treat the sticky or greasy feeling, including those provided in separate form, e.g., lotion, spray and the like, and those incorporated into conventional hair and / or scalp products, e.g., shampoo, leave-in and / or rinse-out conditioner / oil.
[0004] Among other means, keratinous material, particularly hair, is cleansed and treated with many cosmetic products to improve the sticky or greasy feeling, for example with shampoo. These various regimens, however, can remove the hair's natural oils and cause structural damage to the hair. For example, shampoos are often formulated with anionic surfactants that essentially cleanse the hair instead of conditioning it. Anionic surfactants are very effective at removing dirt, pollution, buildup, etc. from the hair, but they also remove sebum, a natural oily or waxy material that automatically lubricates the hair.
[0005] Conditioning compositions are used to enhance or restore the natural luster, shine, softness, and manageability of hair, for example, after shampooing and / or after subjecting the hair to a chemical treatment. Conditioning compositions are often applied as cream-like emulsions or lotions, and typically include one or more cationic compounds, in rinse-out or leave-in form. Other care products ca Pillars can also be incorporated into a leave-in product. Since it is present on the hair for a long period of time, the requirement for a leave-in product may be particularly focused on accomplishing the desired function of that product without adversely affecting the hair.
[0006] It is therefore always necessary in the art to develop new compositions for the conditioning of keratinous materials in order to satisfy multiple consumer demands, in particular the balance between non-greasy feeling, shine and softness with a feeling of lightness. Summary of the invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, which can deliver instant and long-lasting shine with a feeling of lightness.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, which will not cause a sticky and greasy sensation.
[0009] The inventors have surprisingly discovered that when specific non-volatile oils and specific volatile oils are used in combination, the above objects can be satisfied.
[0010] Optionally, the non-volatile oil may comprise a silicone, for example an α,α-aminosilicone, preferably an α,β-amino(Cl-C6)alkyl silicone, especially a silicone having a viscosity of 500-50000 mPa / s, preferably 10000-15000 mPa / s. Preferably, the non-volatile silicone according to the present invention is free of a phenyl group. The non-volatile oil may also comprise a hydrocarbon-based oil selected from synthetic esters.
[0011] Optionally, the volatile oil may comprise or be selected from the group consisting of a volatile silicone and a C8-C16 isoparaffin. The volatile silicone may comprise a C6-C10 alkyl methicone, for example caprylyl methicone. The C8-C16 isoparaffin is preferably a C8-C14 isoparaffin.
[0012] Accordingly, according to one aspect, the present invention provides an oil composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the following components:
[0013] A), at least one non-volatile oil; and
[0014] B), at least two volatile oils.
[0015] According to an exemplary embodiment, component A) may be:
[0016] Al) a synthetic ester of formula RiCOOR2, selected from the group consisting of monoesters of a C6-C10 branched saturated monocarboxylic acid with a C6-C10 branched saturated alcohol.
[0017] According to an exemplary embodiment, component B) may be:
[0018] at least two volatile oils selected from the group consisting of the components Bl) volatile silicone oil and B2) C8-C16 isoparaffin.
[0019] According to one embodiment, component B1) may be a C6-C10 alkyl methicone, for example, caprylyl methicone.
[0020] According to an exemplary embodiment, the oil composition of the invention may comprise the following components:
[0021] A) at least one non-volatile oil comprising component A1) a synthetic ester of formula RiCOOR2, selected from the group consisting of monoesters of a C6-C10 branched saturated monocarboxylic acid with a C6-C10 branched saturated alcohol; and
[0022] B) at least two volatile oils chosen from the group consisting of: components B1) volatile silicone and B2) C8-C16 isoparaffin.
[0023] According to one embodiment, component B1) may be present in an amount of 10% by weight or more, preferably 15% by weight or more, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0024] According to one embodiment, component B2) may be present in an amount of 40% by weight or more, preferably 50% by weight or more, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0025] The composition of the present invention may be in the form of an oily gel or an oily balm.
[0026] Another object of the present invention is to provide a use of a combination of components A1), B1) and B2) according to the present invention for use on the human body, in particular on keratinous material, for example on hair.
[0027] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the application of the composition according to the first aspect of the present invention to the skin, in particular the hair.
[0028] Other subjects and characteristics, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become even more apparent upon reading the detailed description and examples which follow. Embodiments of the invention

[0038] Unless otherwise defined, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as that commonly understood by those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains. Where the definition of a term in this specification conflicts with the meaning commonly understood by those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains, the definition described herein shall apply.
[0039] According to the first aspect, the present invention provides an oil composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the following components:
[0040] A) at least one non-volatile silicone oil, comprising component A1) a synthetic ester of formula RiCOOR2, selected from the group consisting of monoesters of a C6-C10 branched saturated monocarboxylic acid with a C6-C10 branched saturated alcohol and
[0041] B) at least two volatile oils comprising the following two components:
[0042] B1) a volatile non-phenyl silicone selected from the group consisting of a C6-C10 alkyl methicone, preferably caprylylmethicone, in an amount of 10% by weight or more, preferably 15% by weight or more, based on the total weight of the oil composition, and
[0043] B2) a C8-C16 isoparaffin in an amount of 40% by weight or more, of preferably 50% by weight or more, based on the total weight of the oil composition. Component A), non-volatile oil
[0044] The oil composition according to the present invention generally means a combination of a plurality of oils, including specific non-volatile oils and volatile oils. According to this definition, the composition may comprise at least one non-volatile oil as component A). Component Al), non-volatile synthetic oil
[0045] Component A) may comprise non-volatile synthetic oils useful as component A1).
[0046] The non-volatile synthetic oil may be, for example, a synthetic ester of formula RiCOOR2.
[0047] In the formula RiCOOR2, Ri represents a linear or branched fatty acid residue containing from 4 to 40 carbon atoms, and R2 represents a hydrocarbon chain containing from 4 to 40 carbon atoms, provided that Ri + R2>14, or >16.
[0048] The oil of formula RiCOOR2 intended to be used as synthetic oil can be chosen from mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-esters and polyesters, and their mixtures.
[0049] Examples of oil of formula RiCOOR2 include purcellin oil (cetostearyl octanoate), diisopropyl adipate, octyl isononanoate, isononyl isononanoate, 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, stearyl heptanoate, stearyl caprylate, 2-octyldodecyl stearate, 2-octyldodecyl erucate, oleyl erucate, isostearyl isostearate, 2-octyldodecyl benzoate, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, butyl stearate, hexyl laurate, 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, 2-hexyldecyl, 2-octyldecyl palmitate, 2-octyldodecyl myristate or 2-diethylhexyl succinate.
[0050] Preferably, the oil of formula RiCOOR2 may be chosen from esters of a C6-C24 monocarboxylic acid with a C4-C20 monoalcohol, at least one of the acid and the alcohol being branched or unsaturated; or preferably chosen from esters of a C4-C10 (preferably C6-C10) monocarboxylic acid with a C4-C10 (preferably C6-C10) alcohol, at least one of the acid and the alcohol being branched.
[0051] Thus, according to one embodiment of the invention, the oil of formula RiCOOR2 may be a monoester of a saturated monocarboxylic acid branched in C6-C10 with a saturated alcohol branched in C6-C10. Among the examples cited above, we can thus cite in particular octyl isononanoate, and in particular isononyl isononanoate.
[0052] Advantageously, component A1) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 40% by weight, preferably from 0.1% by weight to 30% by weight, or preferably from 0.1% by weight to 20% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0053] Component A2). non-volatile amino silicone oil
[0054] Component A) may also comprise non-volatile amino silicone oils useful as component A2), in addition to component A1).
[0055] For the purposes of the invention, the terms “silicone” and “silicone oil” may be used interchangeably.
[0056] The non-volatile amino silicone oil to be used as component A2) may preferably be free of phenyl groups, i.e. a volatile non-phenyl silicone. The term "non-phenyl" denotes a compound bearing no phenyl substituents.
[0057] Silicone is generally used as an oil for various cosmetic purposes. Among others, an amino silicone is of particular interest. The term "amino silicone" refers to any silicone comprising at least one primary, secondary or tertiary amine or a quaternary ammonium group (i.e., a quaternized group).
[0058] A silicone can carry the amine group on the backbone chain of the molecule, called amino-terminal silicone, or carry the amine group on the pendant chain, called amino-grafted silicone.
[0059] Amino silicones are described, for example, in US2011 / 0155163 and US2011 / 155164, both of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0060] Non-limiting examples include amodimethicone, silicone quaternium-22, trimethylsilyl amodimethicone, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, bis-cetearyl amodimethicone, bis-amino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl di-methicone, PEG-40 / PPG-8 methylaminopropyl hydroxypropyl di-methicone copolymer, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, quaternium-80, methoxy PEG / PPG-7 / 3 aminopropyl dimethicone, silicone quaternium-22, bis(C13-15 Alkoxy) PG- amodimethicone, bis-hydroxy / methoxy amodimethicone, aminopropyl phenyl trimethicone, aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, PEG-7 amodimethicone, silicone quaternium-8, visamino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl dimethicone, polysilicone-19, silicone quaternium-18, and mixtures thereof.
[0061] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the amino silicone is preferably an amino-terminal silicone.
[0062] Accordingly, another preferable amino silicone group according to the present invention may comprise: amino bispropyl dimethicone; aminopropyl dimethicone; amodimethicone; bis-aminopropyl dimethicone; bis-aminopropyl / ethoxy aminopropyl dimethicone; bis-butyloxyamodimethicone / peg-60 copolymer; bis-isobutyl peg-14 / amodimethicone copolymer; bis-isobutyl peg-15 / amodimethicone copolymer.
[0063] Without being limited to any known theory, it is believed that a bis-amino-terminal silicone is preferably useful, i.e., an amino silicone having as terminal groups two amino groups. For the purposes of the present invention, such a bis-amino-terminal silicone is referred to as a bis-amino silicone, or referred to as an α,co-aminosilicone, unless specifically indicated otherwise. In particular, the amino group of the useful α,co-aminosilicone may be further modified with an alkyl or alkoxyl, preferably a C1-C6 alkyl or alkoxyl, or more preferably a C1-C4 alkyl or alkoxyl, for example, propyl.
[0064] Among others, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-aminopropyl / ethoxy aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, bis-cetearyl amodimethicone, bis-amino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl dimethicone, bis(C13-15 Alkoxy) PG- amodimethicone, bis-hydroxy / methoxy amodimethicone may be preferred.
[0065] Consequently, the non-volatile silicone oil useful in the invention may be an α,α-aminoalkyl silicone, preferably an α,α-amino(Cl-C6)alkyl silicone, for example bis-aminopropyl dimethicone.
[0066] For the purposes of the invention, the non-volatile silicone may preferably have a viscosity of 500-50000 mPa / s, preferably 10000-15000 mPa / s.
[0067] Without being limited to any known theory, it is believed that the incorporation of component A2) is particularly beneficial for the soft feeling of keratinous materials. In addition, ra,co-amino(Cl-C6)alkyl silicone, especially that having a viscosity of 500-50000 mPa / s, preferably 10000-15000mPa / s, has a particular benefit.
[0068] Preferably, the molecule of component A2) is devoid of a phenyl group.
[0069] Then, according to an embodiment of the present invention, despite the presence of any other non-volatile oil used as component A) or not, the use of component A), in particular an α,co-amino(Cl-C6)alkyl silicone, for example bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, preferably having a viscosity of 500-50000 mPa / s, preferably 10000-15000mPa / s, is used as an essential component for the oil composition, which can provide better softness, as well as good brightness, stability, et cetera.
[0070] Advantageously, component A2) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, preferably from 0.1% by weight to 5% by weight, or preferably from 0.1% by weight to 3% by weight, relative to the total weight of the com- oil position.
[0071] Component A3), additional non-volatile silicone oil
[0072] Component A) may also comprise additional non-volatile silicone oils, useful as component A3), in addition to components A2) and A1).
[0073] The additional non-volatile silicone oil is different from the "amino silicone" useful as component A2) according to the present invention.
[0074] According to one embodiment of the present invention, examples of the additional non-volatile silicone oil may be given from the family of polydialkyl-siloxanes with terminal trimethylsilyl groups, such as oils having a viscosity in the range of 0.2 m2 / s to 2.5 m2 / s at 25°C, for example the oils of the DC200 series from DOW CORNING, in particular that having a viscosity of 60,000 Cst, of the SILBIONE 70047 series, more particularly the 70.047 V 500,000 oil supplied by the supplier RHODIA CHIMIE, polydialkylsiloxanes with terminal dimethylsilanol groups such as dimethiconol such as the oils of the 48 series from the company Rhodia or polyalkylarylsiloxanes such as the SILBIONE 70641 V oil 200 provided by the supplier RHODIA CHIMIE.
[0075] Advantageously, component A3) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 12% by weight, or preferably from 3% by weight to 9% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Component B), volatile oil
[0076] The oil composition according to the present invention may comprise at least two volatile oils as component B).
[0077] For the purposes of the present invention, it is preferred that component B) is at least one volatile oil chosen from the group consisting of: components B1) non-phenyl silicone volatile oil and B2) C8-C16 isoparaffin. Component B1), volatile non-phenyl silicone oil
[0078] Many silicone oils are conventionally known to be non-volatile, while some non-phenyl silicone oils are known to be volatile, even with a relatively low evaporation rate. Examples include volatile linear or cyclic silicone oils, especially those having a viscosity < 8 centistokes (cSt) (8 x 106 m2 / s), and especially containing from 2 to 10 silicon atoms and in particular from 2 to 7 silicon atoms, these silicones optionally comprising alkyl or alkoxy groups containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Such volatile non-phenyl silicone oils may be an alkyl silicone.
[0079] Without being limited to any known theory, it is deduced that when the "alkyl" moiety in the volatile non-phenyl alkylsilicone has a number of carbon atoms similar to the groups Ri and / or R2 in the oil of formula RiCOOR2 useful as component Al), the desired softness, lightness and shine of the hair can be particularly satisfied, which may be due to the better compatibility between such an alkylsilicone and the oil of the formula RiCOOR2. Thus, among others, the typical volatile silicone oil can be a C6-C10 alkylmethicone.
[0080] Caprylylmethicone may be provided as an example of a C6-C10 alkylmethicone. A commercial caprylyl methicone product is that sold under the trademark DOW CORNING FZ-3196 by the company DOW CORNING (DOW CHEMICAL).
[0081] Without being limited to any known theory, it is believed that provided that the functions of the other active components are not significantly inhibited / masked, component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, can be preferably used in a relatively higher amount. For example, for a leave-in hair product, a relatively higher amount of component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, can provide lightness and softness to the hair. According to the invention, it is important to use component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, in an appropriate amount.
[0082] Thus, advantageously, component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, may be present in an amount ranging from 10% by weight to 35% by weight, preferably from 15% by weight to 25% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Component B2), C8-C16 isoparaffin
[0083] Component B) of the oil composition according to the present invention may optionally comprise additional volatile oils, for example an oil selected from the group consisting of C8-C16 isoparaffins, as component B2), which generally serves as a solvent.
[0084] Oils based on hydrocarbons containing from 8 to 16 carbon atoms, and in particular branched C8-C16 alkanes (also known as isoparaffins) are known to be conventional volatile oils and can be used as component B2) alone or in a mixture. Examples include isododecane (also called 2,2,4,4,6-pentamethylheptane), isodecane, isohexadecane, and for example oils sold under the trade names Isopars® or Permethyls®.
[0085] C8-C16 isoparaffins are generally used as organic solvents, for example, used as a co-solvent in a mixture of organic solvents with one or more other conventional organic solvents. In contrast, when a solvent is used for the present invention, component B2), for example isododecane, is generally used in a significant amount, particularly in an amount of 40% by weight or more, based on the composition of the oils according to the present invention. Without being limited to known theory, it is believed that, although it serves as a solvent, the presence of a C8-C16 isoparaffin, e.g., isododecane, as well as its amount, can substantially affect the effect of the composition, e.g., the lightness and conditioning effects of hair treated with the oil composition.
[0086] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the composition is substantially free, or free, of other conventional solvents. In other words, other conventional solvents, for example hydrogenated polyisobutene conventionally used in a hair product, if present, represent no more than 10% by weight, or no more than 5% by weight, more preferably no more than 1%, of the oil composition. In other words, the oil composition according to the present invention may use a C8-C16 isoparaffin or a mixture thereof, for example isododecane, as the sole solvent.
[0087] Thus, advantageously, component B2), in particular isododecane, may be present in an amount ranging from 40% by weight to 95% by weight, preferably 50% by weight to 95% by weight, or preferably 55% by weight to 90% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Simultaneous use of components Bl) and B2)
[0088] The inventors have surprisingly discovered that the simultaneous use of at least two specific oils, i.e., component B1), a volatile non-phenyl silicone oil and B2) a C8-C16 isoparaffin, can be particularly advantageous. Without being limited to any known theory, it is believed that the concomitant use of these components B1) and B2) can result in a composition having a particularly advantageous lightness, as well as a desirable softness, for a hair product.
[0089] Thus, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the oil composition according to the present invention comprises both components B1) and B2). Component C), vegetable oil
[0090] The oil composition according to the present invention may further comprise at least one vegetable oil, in particular of the triglyceride type for use as component C).
[0091] Preferably, the triglyceride type vegetable oils are chosen from sunflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil, pumpkin oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, hazelnut oil, apricot oil, macadamia oil, castor oil, olive oil; avocado oil; argan oil; camellia oil, palm oil, corn germ oil, cottonseed oil, peanut oil, pumpkin seed oil, wheat germ oil, babassu oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, almond oil, linseed oil, safflower oil, as well as mixtures thereof.
[0092] Or preferably, the triglyceride type vegetable oils are chosen from sunflower oil, jojoba oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, coconut oil, corn oil, soybean oil, pumpkin oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, hazelnut oil, apricot oil, macadamia oil, castor oil and avocado oil.
[0093] As commercial triglyceride vegetable oil products, mention may be made of helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil sold under the name REFINED SUNFLOWER OIL by the company AAK KAMANI PRIVATE, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) seed oil sold under the name JD FFL JOJOBA GOLDEN OIL by the company JOJOBA DESERT, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil sold under the name ACTIVATED VIRGIN COCONUT OIL by the company BIOTROPICS, ARGANIA SPINOSA kernel oil sold under the name LL POFRUCTYL ARGAN BE LS 9779 by the company BASF BEAUTY CARE SOLUTION, and prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil sold under the name APRICOT KERNEL OIL REFINED DAC by the company GUSTAV HEESS.
[0094] Advantageously, the triglyceride type vegetable oil may be present in an amount ranging from 0.5% by weight to 15% by weight, preferably from 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, or preferably from 0.1% by weight to 5% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0095] According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that all or substantially all of the useful components, especially those useful as components A) and / or B), as for components A1), A2), A3), B1) and / or B2), are each free of phenyl. For a hair product, especially a hair oil, the presence of phenyl in certain components, for example in a silicone, can generally be beneficial for the shine effect. However, it is also known that a phenyl-containing compound can often be environmentally unfriendly. On the other hand, the inventors of the present invention have surprisingly discovered that by using the oil composition according to the present invention comprising the specific combination of components A) and B), the desired shine can still be achieved.
[0096] According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that the oil composition consists essentially of, or consists of, components A1), A2), A3), B1) and B2) described herein. According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that the oil composition consists essentially of, or consists of, components A1), A2), B1) and B2) described herein. Adjuvants or additives
[0097] The oil composition of the present invention may comprise conventional cosmetic adjuvants or additives, for example, perfumes, fillers, antioxidants (for example, tocopherols, such as d-alpha-tocopherol, d- beta-tocopherol, d-gamma-tocopherol, d-delta-tocopherol), and mixtures thereof.
[0098] A person skilled in the art can select the amount of adjuvants or additional additive so as not to negatively affect the end use of the oil composition according to the present invention. Anhydrous form
[0099] For the purposes of the present invention, the composition according to the present invention may be essentially in anhydrous form. According to the present invention, the inclusion of water or moisture in the composition is preferably avoided; however, those skilled in the art will readily understand that water may not be 100% removed. For example, although water is not intentionally added, it may be provided by ingredients of the composition that contain it in residual amounts, may be incorporated during production, or may be absorbed from the environment during production and / or storage.
[0100] Therefore, for the purposes of the present invention, the term "anhydrous" means the absence of water or the presence of water in an amount such that skilled persons can determine that it is free or substantially free of water. For example, an "anhydrous" composition according to the present invention may comprise less than 2%, preferably less than 0.5% by weight of water, based on the total weight of the composition. Preferably, an "anhydrous" composition according to the present invention does not comprise a detectable amount of water, where "detectable amount" means an amount that can be detected by a device conventionally used in the art for measuring water content.
[0101] Optionally, components A) to C), as well as, if present, any other component, are subjected to a water removal step before being incorporated into the composition of the present invention. The technical means for water removal are not particularly limited, provided that the composition obtained is "anhydrous".
[0102] The oil composition of the present invention may be in the form of an oily gel or an oily balm. Method and use
[0103] The compositions according to the invention can be manufactured by known processes, generally used in the cosmetic or dermatological field.
[0104] According to one embodiment, the present invention relates to a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the application of the oil composition according to the present invention to the skin, in particular the hair.
[0105] The following examples serve to illustrate the present invention without, however, being li- mitatives. EXAMPLES
