An orthogonal XYZ coordinate system is defined with respect to the vehicle. Seat (2) for a vehicle having a floor, the seat (2) comprising at least a first floor slab (14) and at least a first backrest frame (6) linked to said first floor slab (14), said at least a first floor slab (14) comprising a base (22) intended to be fixed to the floor of the vehicle, and a fin (24) extending substantially perpendicular to the base, characterized in that it comprises a protective cover (46) covering at least a portion of a longitudinal edge (26) of the fin of the first floor slab, the protective cover (46) comprising a bottom wall (48) and two side walls (50, 52) perpendicular to the bottom wall; the bottom wall (48) being supported on one face of the longitudinal edge of the fin, the side walls extending parallel to the fin (24) and being fixed to the fin;at least a portion (30) of the longitudinal edge of the fin having a rounded shape having a center of curvature located outside the fin and the bottom wall (48) of the protective cover having a rounded shape corresponding to the shape of the longitudinal edge (26) of the fin.;

Seat (2) according to claim 1, wherein the fin (24) of the first floor slab and at least one side wall of the protective cover comprise at least one opening (58,62), said protective cover (46) comprising at least one fastening element (64) arranged in said openings to fix the protective cover to the fin of the first floor slab.

3. Seat (2) according to claim 1, wherein the fin (24) of the first floor slab has at least one hole (56) and the side wall of the protective cover has a clip (60) arranged in said hole.

4. Seat (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the protective cover (46) is made of plastic material preferably of polypropylene or polyethylene.

A seat (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, comprising a seat belt attachment member (36, 42), a flexible webbing (34, 44) attached to the attachment member, and an anchor plate (40) for the flexible webbing, the longitudinal edge (26) of the flange being a dropped edge (29) directed towards the flexible webbing, when the seat belt is in a nominal operating position, the flexible webbing (34, 44) being designed to rub against the protective cover in case of impact.

6. Seat (2) according to claim 5, in which the anchor plate (40) of the flexible strap is fixed to the base (22) of the first floor slab.

Seat assembly comprising a seat (2) conformed according to any one of claims 1 to 4, further comprising a second backrest frame (8) mounted pivotally relative to the first floor slab (14), the second backrest frame being adjacent to the first backrest frame (6), a portion of the fin (24) being disposed between the first seat frame and the second seat frame.

8. Seat assembly according to claim 7, wherein the first backrest frame (6) comprises a stiffening plate (12) covered with trim and wherein the longitudinal edge (26) of the fin is a dropped edge (29) directed towards the second backrest frame (8).

9. Seat assembly according to any one of claims 7 and 8, comprising: - at least one second floor slab (16) including a base (22) for fixing to the floor of the vehicle, and a fin (24) extending substantially perpendicular to the base, - a third backrest frame (10) mounted pivotally relative to at least one second floor slab (16), the first backrest frame (6) being disposed between the second backrest frame and the third backrest frame, - a protective cover (46) covering at least a portion of a longitudinal edge (26) of the fin of the second floor slab.

Seat assembly according to any one of claims 7 to 9, comprising a seat belt attachment member (36, 42), a flexible strap (34, 44) attached to the attachment member and an anchor plate (40) for the flexible strap, the longitudinal edge (26) of the fin being a dropped edge (29) directed towards the flexible strap, when the seat belt is in a nominal operating position, the flexible strap (34, 44) being adapted to rub against the protective cover in the event of a collision.

11. Seat assembly according to claim 10, wherein the anchor plate (40) of the flexible strap is fixed to the base (22) of the first floor slab.

12. Vehicle comprising a seat (2) conformed according to any one of claims 1 to 6 or a set of seats according to any one of claims 7 to 11.

13. Vehicle comprising a seat (2) conformed according to claim 5, or a set of seats according to claim 10 in which the anchor plate (40) of the flexible strap is fixed to the floor.
