AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing tire pressure monitoring systems in vehicles often fail to provide intuitive and timely alerts for abnormal tire pressure, making it difficult for users to identify and address tire issues promptly, which can compromise safety and efficiency.

Method used

A method and device that utilizes a lighting system with pressure sensors to project ground lighting near the vehicle when a side door is unlocked, activating lights only near tires with abnormal pressure and blocking lights near normal tires, providing a visual indication of the faulty tire.

Benefits of technology

Enables quick identification of abnormal tire pressure, ensuring timely intervention, improving vehicle handling, safety, and reducing fuel consumption by maintaining optimal tire pressure.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for monitoring the tire pressure of a vehicle (2), the method comprising: collecting pressure signals from pressure sensors; analyzing, from the pressure signals, the tire pressure to determine whether each tire has normal pressure; and triggering lighting (14) on the ground in the vicinity of the vehicle (2) upon detection of unlocking of at least one side door (9) of the vehicle, by controlling a lighting system (11) comprising at least one light source (12; 12a) associated with each tire to illuminate an area (Z1) on the ground in the vicinity of said tire, the control comprising, if at least one tire (4a) has abnormal pressure, activating each light source (12a) associated with the abnormal tire (4a) and blocking each light source (12) associated with a normal tire.
