Title of the invention: Applicator for creating multiple fine and close lines SUMMARY

[0001] In one embodiment, an applicator allows for the creation of multiple superfine lines or points. Previous applicators that create multiple lines cannot produce sufficiently sharp lines and exhibit excessively large gaps. In one embodiment, an applicator solves the problem of creating multiple lines with extreme precision and sharpness.

[0002] In one embodiment, the applicator will allow consumers to draw multiple fine lines or dots very close together. There may be two different uses for this type of applicator. One use of the applicator is to fill the space between the eyelashes. This is similar to eyeliner but much more natural. The disclosed applicator creates extremely precise and crisp dots and lines because the dots need to be applied at the waterline between the eyelashes. Therefore, the dots produced are very close together to increase precision. A second use may be to create pigmentation-like effects for the eyebrows. Conventional eyebrow pigmentation products have a single applicator but have problems with flow stability when used on the eyebrows, and the lines produced are also not very crisp.

[0012] Fig. 1 is a schematic illustration of an applicator 100 intended for creating fine lines and dots, such as for applying cosmetic products, but it has other uses in applications where the manual creation of fine lines and dots is necessary. The applicator 100 is described in the context of applying cosmetic products, such as eyeliner, but the applicator can be used to apply ink for writing instruments or paints for sketching and freehand drawing instruments.

[0013] Referring to Figures 3 and 4, in one embodiment, the applicator 100 includes a body sleeve 110 containing an ink cartridge 112. The body sleeve 110 is capped at its upper end by a tracing tool fitting 102. The fitting 102 is configured to hold two or more tracing tools. In the illustrated embodiment, three tracing tools 104, 106, and 108 are shown. The tracing tools 104, 106 and 108 are used to trace fine lines or dots by applying liquid formulations, such as cosmetic products, by transferring the liquid formulation from the cartridge 112 to the tracing tools 104, 106 and 108. An applicator that traces fine lines and dots, comprising: a body sleeve having the shape of an elongated tube; a first tracing tool having a first section in the body sleeve and a first tip extending out of the body sleeve, in which the first tracing tool decreases in size at a distal end of the first tracing tool; a second tracing tool having a second section in the body sleeve and a second tip extending out of the body sleeve, in which the second tracing tool decreases in size at a distal end of the second tracing tool; the first tracing tool, the second tracing tool, or both the first and second tracing tools, having a curve to bring the first and second tips closer together;the applicator further comprising a third tracing tool having a third section in the body sleeve and a third tip extending out of the body sleeve, wherein the third tracing tool decreases in size at a distal end of the third tracing tool, wherein the third tracing tool is located between the first and second tracing tools, and the third tracing tool does not have a curve; wherein the first tracing tool has a curve to bring the first tip closer to the third tip, and the second tracing tool has a curve to bring the second tip closer to the third tip.

2. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein the first, second and third tips are aligned.

3. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein any two adjacent tips are physically separated from each other by a space not more than 4 mm or by a space not more than 2 mm.

4. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein the first, second and third tips extend out of the body sleeve approximately of equal height.

5. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein the first, second, and third tracing tools transport a formulation from the body sleeve to the first, second, and third tips by hair action.

6. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein the first, second and third tracing tools have a rod-shaped section extending into the body sleeve and a cone-shaped section for the tip.

7. Applicator according to claim 1, further comprising a fitting on the body sleeve having a first inclined inner wall which bends the first tracing tool and a second inclined inner wall which bends the second tracing tool.

8. Applicator according to claim 1, wherein the first tracing tool and the second tracing tool are flexible to allow curvature along the length.
