Description

Title of the invention: Motorized drive device for a hinged shutter

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of shutters, and more particularly to a system for closing a window opening comprising at least one hinged shutter and a motorized drive device for the hinged shutter.

[0002] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The window openings of a detached house are generally equipped with hinged shutters arranged to selectively close said openings which are arranged in the walls of the house. The hinged shutters make it possible in particular to limit the risks of burglary and contribute to thermal insulation.

[0004] In a manner known per se, a hinged shutter comprises a panel mounted on joints commonly called hinges which are fixed on an edge of the window opening and which define a vertical axis of rotation of the panel. The panel thus pivots around this axis of rotation, between an open position and a closed position in which the panel, respectively, clears and closes the window opening.

[0005] It is known to equip the panel with a motorized drive device making it possible to control the pivoting of said panel, and therefore to allow the user to automatically open or close the panel without having to push it manually or lean through the window opening.

[0006] Such a drive device generally comprises an electric motor fixed under the lintel of the window opening, and an operating arm having a first end coupled to an output shaft of the electric motor, and a second end provided with a roller arranged to move inside a slide which is fixed on an inner face of the panel.

[0007] If such a device causes the panel to pivot satisfactorily, it nevertheless turns out that the slide and the arm are perfectly visible from the outside when the panel is in the open position, which gives the shutter a particularly unsightly appearance.

[0008] SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The invention therefore aims to propose a system for closing a window opening comprising at least one hinged shutter and a motorized drive device for the hinged shutter which does not affect or only slightly affects the aesthetics of said hinged shutter. Summary of the invention

[0010] To this end, the invention proposes a system for closing a window opening provided in a wall. The system comprises at least one hinged shutter and a motorized drive device for the hinged shutter. The hinged shutter comprises a panel arranged to pivot about a vertical pivot axis between an open position and a closed position in which said panel respectively clears and closes the window opening. The motorized drive device comprises a motor and an operating arm which has a first end connected to an output shaft of the motor and a second end provided with a drive member arranged to move inside a slide fitted to the panel.

[0011] According to the invention, the operating arm extends in a substantially horizontal plane arranged above the panel, and in that the slide is integrated into an upper edge of the panel.

[0012] Such an arrangement of the operating arm and the slide thus makes it possible not to modify the aesthetic appearance of the panel, in particular when said panel is in the open position.

[0013] According to a particular characteristic, the operating arm is substantially flat.

[0014] According to another particular characteristic, the operating arm extends, seen from the outside, exclusively behind an inner wall of the upper part of the panel when the panel is in the open position, the inner wall of the upper part of the panel being visible from the outside when said panel is in the open position.

[0015] Such an arrangement of the operating arm makes it possible to make said operating arm very invisible when the panel is in the open position.

[0016] According to another particular characteristic, the slide comprises a groove forming a guide for the drive member.

[0017] In particular, the groove is a T-groove.

[0018] In particular, the drive member comprises a pad mounted to rotate on the second end of the operating arm around an axis substantially parallel to the pivot axis of the shutter.

[0019] According to another particular characteristic, the closing system comprises two hinged shutters, the motorized drive device comprising two operating arms which each have a first end connected to the output shaft of the motor and a second end provided with a drive member arranged to move inside the slide equipping one of the shutter panels.

[0020] In particular, the motor is electric. Brief description of the drawings

[0021] The invention will be better understood in light of the following description, which is purely illustrative and not limiting, and must be read in conjunction with the appended drawings, among which:

[0029] With reference to [Fig.l], a wall M of a building extends along a substantially vertical plane and comprises a window opening O of substantially rectangular shape. The opening O extends substantially vertically and is equipped with a shutter frame forming a door frame and comprising two uprights N, N' and a top crosspiece T connecting the two uprights N, N' together. The uprights N, N' and the top crosspiece T are here made from the same profile, for example made of aluminum, with a generally L-shaped section. The profile is cut and welded at 45 degrees at the junctions between the uprights N, N' and the top crosspiece T. The uprights N, N' are fixed to the wall M and the top crosspiece T defines, with an upper part of the window opening O (also called a lintel), a box.

[0030] The frame is equipped with a first hinged shutter 1 and a second hinged shutter 1' for selectively closing or clearing the window opening O. For this purpose, the first shutter 1 and the second shutter 1' comprise a panel 10, 10' mounted to rotate about a vertical axis Zi0, Zi0' via two sets of two hinges 20, between a closed position in which the panel 10, 10' closes the opening O and a open position in which the panel 10, 10' clears the opening O while being close to a portion of the wall in the vicinity of the opening O ([Fig.l]).

[0031] The panel 10, 10' comprises two vertical uprights 11, 11' whose ends are connected to each other by an upper crosspiece 12, 12' and a lower crosspiece 13, 13' extending horizontally to form a rectangular frame. The uprights 11, 11', the upper crosspiece 12, 12' and the lower crosspiece 13, 13' are here made from aluminum profiles of generally square section.

[0032] Each of the uprights 11, 11' comprises an inner wall 11a, 11a' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the open position, an outer wall 11b, 11b' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the closed position, and a side wall 11e which faces towards the outside of the panel 10 and which connects the inner wall 11a, 11a' and the outer wall 11b, 11b' to each other (Figures 1 and 2B). The side walls 11c, 11c' of the uprights 11, 11' define a width of the panel 10, 10'. Two of the hinges 20 are fixed on the side wall 11e, 11c' of one of the uprights 11, 11'.

[0033] The upper crosspiece 12, 12' comprises an inner wall 12a, 12a' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the open position, an outer wall 12b, 12b' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the closed position, and an upper wall 12c, 12c' which faces towards the outside of the panel 10, 10' and which connects the inner wall 12a, 12a' and the outer wall 12b, 12b' to each other. The upper crosspiece 12, 12' also comprises a T-shaped groove 12d which extends along a longitudinal axis of said upper crosspiece 12, 12' and which opens onto the upper wall 12c, 12c' (Figures 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B). Groove 12d is therefore provided in the upper edge of the panel.

[0034] The lower crosspiece 13, 13' comprises an inner wall 13a, 13a' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the open position, an outer wall 13b, 13b' which is visible from the outside when the panel 10, 10' is in the closed position, and a lower wall 13c, 13c' which faces towards the outside of the panel 10, 10' and which connects the inner wall 13a, 13a' and the outer wall 13b, 13b' to each other. The lower wall 13c, 13c' defines, with the upper wall 12c, 12c' of the upper crosspiece 12, 12', a height of the panel 10, 10'.

[0035] The inner walls 11a, 12a, 13a of the uprights 11, of the upper crosspiece 12 and of the lower crosspiece 13 extend in the same vertical plane and define an internal face of the panel 10 visible from the outside when said panel 10 is in the open position.

[0036] The outer walls 11b, 12b, 13b of the uprights 11, of the upper crosspiece 12 and of the lower crosspiece 13 extend in the same vertical plane and define an external face of the panel 10 visible from the outside when said panel 10 is in the open position.

[0037] Similarly, the inner walls 11a', 12a', 13a' of the uprights 11', of the upper crosspiece 12' and of the lower crosspiece 13' extend in the same vertical plane and define an internal face of the panel 10' visible from the outside when said panel 10 is in the open position.

[0038] The outer walls 11b', 12b', 13b' of the uprights 11', of the upper crosspiece 12' and of the lower crosspiece 13' extend in the same vertical plane and define an external face of the panel 10' visible from the outside when said panel 10' is in the open position.

[0039] The panel 10, 10' also comprises two first intermediate crosspieces 14a, 14a' and two second intermediate crosspieces 14b, 14b' which extend two by two opposite each other, between the upper crosspiece 12, 12' and the lower crosspiece 13, 13', and which connect the uprights 11, 11' to each other. The first intermediate crosspieces 14a, 14a' and the second intermediate crosspieces 14b, 14b' extend parallel to the upper crosspiece 12, 12' and to the lower crosspiece 13, 13' and here have a generally U-shaped cross section ([Fig.2A]).

[0040] The upper crosspiece 12, 12', the uprights 11, 11' and the first intermediate crosspieces 14a, 14' define two first openings of rectangular shape and of substantially identical dimensions. The first openings face one another and are each closed by a first filling plate 15a, 15a'.

[0041] The first intermediate crosspieces 14a, 14', the uprights 11, 11' and the second intermediate crosspieces 14b, 14b' define two second openings of rectangular shape and of substantially identical dimensions. The second openings face one another and are each closed by a second filling plate 15b, 15b'.

[0042] The second intermediate crosspieces 14b, 14b', the uprights 11, 11' and the lower crosspiece 13, 13' define two third openings of rectangular shape and of substantially identical dimensions. The third openings face one another and are each closed by a third filling plate 15c, 15c'.

[0043] The first, second and third filling plates 15a, 15a', 15b, 15b', 15c, 15c' define, with the uprights 11, 11', the upper crosspiece 12, 12', the lower crosspiece 13, 13', the first intermediate crosspieces 14a, 14a' and the second intermediate crosspieces 14b, 14b', a volume substantially filled with a thermally insulating foam block 16. The foam block 16 is for example made of polyurethane.

[0044] The first shutter 1 and the second shutter 1' are equipped with a motorized drive device 100 for simultaneously controlling the opening and closing of said first shutter 1 and said second shutter 1'. As illustrated in [Fig.4A]-4B, the motorized drive device 100 comprises: • an electromechanical module 110 which is received in the box delimited by the upper crosspiece T of the shutter frame and the upper part of the window opening O, so that the electromechanical module 110 is protected against bad weather (rain, hail, sun, etc.); • a first operating member 120 which extends outside the box and which connects the first shutter 1 to the electromechanical module 110; and • a second operating member 120' which extends outside the box and which connects the second flap 1' to the electromechanical module 110.

[0045] The electromechanical module 110 comprises a tubular electric motor 111 which extends along a first horizontal axis Xm substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the upper part of the window opening O and which is selectively connected to a source of electrical energy by means of a control unit (not shown). The electric motor 111 has a rotary output shaft, here of square section, which extends along the first axis Xm and on which a first toothed wheel 112 is mounted. The control unit is arranged to allow a user to selectively control the rotational drive of the output shaft around the first axis Xm, in one direction or the other.

[0046] The electromechanical module 110 also comprises a transmission bar 113, here of hexagonal section, extending along a second horizontal axis Xm substantially parallel to the first axis Xm and on which is mounted a second toothed wheel 114 arranged to mesh with the first toothed wheel 112. The transmission bar 113 has a first end cooperating with an inlet orifice of a first angle transmission housing 115, and a second end, opposite the first end, cooperating with an inlet orifice of a second angle transmission housing 115'. The first housing 115 and the second housing 115' each extend at one end of the box and comprise an output shaft extending along an axis Zn5, Zn5' substantially parallel to the axes Zi0, Zi0' of rotation of the first and second flaps 1, 1'.

[0047] The first operating member 120 comprises a first bent arm 121 extending in a substantially horizontal plane, between the panel 10 and the upper crosspiece T of the shutter frame, so that the aesthetic appearance of the panel 10 is not modified in any way by the presence of the first arm 121. The first arm 121 is here substantially flat and has a first end which cooperates with the output shaft of the first housing 115, and a second end, opposite the first end, on which a first sliding pad 122 is mounted to rotate about an axis Zi22 substantially parallel to the axis Zi0 of rotation of the first shutter 1. The first pad 122 extends inside the T-shaped groove 12d formed in the panel 10 of the first shutter 1, and is arranged to slide in said T-shaped groove 12d which forms a first guide. The first pad 121 here has a T-shaped cross-section ([Fig.2A]).

[0048] Furthermore, the first arm 121 is shaped in such a way that, seen from the outside, said first arm 121 extends almost exclusively behind the plane in which the inner wall 12a of the upper crosspiece 12 of the panel 10 extends (i.e. between the wall and said plane) when said panel 10 is in the open position. The first arm 121 then does not project from the inner wall 12a, so that it is very little visible from the outside when the first flap 1 is open.

[0049] Similarly, the second operating member 120' comprises a second bent arm 121' extending in a substantially horizontal plane, between the panel 10' and the upper crosspiece T of the shutter frame, so that the aesthetic appearance of the panel 10' is not modified in any way by the presence of the second arm 121'. The second arm 121' is here substantially flat and has a first end which cooperates with the output shaft of the second housing 115', and a second end, opposite the first end, on which a second sliding pad 122' is mounted to move in rotation about an axis Zi22' substantially parallel to the axis Zi0' of rotation of the second shutter 1'. The second shoe 122' extends inside the T-shaped groove 12d' formed in the panel 10' of the second shutter 1', and is arranged to slide in said T-shaped groove 12d' which forms a second guide. The second shoe 121' here has a T-shaped cross-section ([Fig.2A]) and is identical to the first skate 121. .

[0050] Furthermore, the second arm 121' is shaped in such a way that, seen from the outside, said second arm 121' extends almost exclusively behind the plane in which the inner wall 12a' of the upper crosspiece 12 of the panel 10' extends (i.e. between the wall and said plane) when said panel 10' is in the open position. The second arm 121' then does not project from the inner wall 12a', so that it is barely visible from the outside when the second flap 1' is open.

[0051] The first arm 121 and the second arm 121' have a thickness e slightly less than a vertical distance d separating the upper surface of the panels 10, 10' from the lower surface of the upper crosspiece T of the shutter frame when the shutters are in the closed position.

[0052] The operation of the motorized drive device 100 will now be detailed.

[0053] The closing and opening of the first shutter 1 and the second shutter 1' are carried out via the control unit which controls the rotational drive of the output shaft of the electric motor 111.

[0054] The rotation of the output shaft of the electric motor 111 causes the first gear wheel 112 to rotate about the first axis Xm. The rotation of the first gear wheel 112 in turn causes the second gear wheel 114 to rotate about the second axis Xn3, and therefore the transmission bar 113 to rotate about said second axis Xn3. The rotation of the transmission bar 113 simultaneously causes, via the first housing 115 and the second housing 115', the first operating arm 121 to rotate about the axis Zn5 and the second operating arm 121' to rotate about the axis Zn5'.

[0055] The first arm 121 and the second arm 121' then exert, depending on the direction of rotation of the output shaft of the electric motor 111, a driving force (traction or thrust) on the panels 10, 10' via the first pad 122 and the second pad 122'. This driving force simultaneously generates a translation of the first pad 122 and the second pad 122' in the T-shaped grooves 12d, 12d' and a pivoting of the panels 10 around their axis Zi0, Zi0' during which said panel 10 tends to return to their open or closed position.

[0056] It will be noted that, due to their particular arrangement, the first arm 121 and the second arm 121' are very little visible from the outside when the first flap 1 and the second flap 1' are open, and do not in any way modify the aesthetic appearance of the panels 10, 10'.

[0057] Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described but encompasses any variant falling within the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.

[0058] By hinged shutter, we generally mean any pivoting closing element intended to equip an opening (doors, windows, French windows, etc.)

[0059] Although the 1,1' hinged shutters are here mounted on a frame, they can also be mounted directly on the wall M.

[0060] Although the electromechanical module 110 of the motorized drive device 100 is here received in a box delimited by the shutter frame, it can also be received in a casing fixed under the lintel of the window opening O.

[0061] Although the window opening O is here equipped with two shutters 1, the hinged shutters, it can be equipped with a single hinged shutter.

[0062] Although the electromechanical module 110 of the motorized drive device 100 here comprises only a single electric motor 111 for controlling the closing and opening of the two hinged shutters 1, 1', it can comprise a motor per shutter. swinging. The pivoting of the first shutter 1 can then be controlled independently of that of the second shutter 1', and vice versa.

[0063] Although the motor of the electromechanical module 111 is electric here, it may be of a different nature.

[0064] Although the first arm 121 and the second operating arm 121' are bent here, they can be of different shapes.

[0065] Although the groove 12d, 12d' in which the pad 122, 122' slides is here T-shaped, it can be of another shape (straight, dovetail, V-shaped, etc.).

[0066] The skate 122, 122' can be replaced by any drive member suitable for move in the groove 12d, 12d (finger, roller, drawer...), by sliding or rolling.
