Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Gear train housing for an airship propulsion unit TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a gear train housing for an airship propulsion unit, a propulsion unit of the type comprising a pylon and a nacelle carrying the equipment necessary for propulsion, said housing being arranged to contain oil lubricating the gear train comprising two walls, each wall axially delimiting the enclosure formed by the housing, and a cylindrical intermediate wall comprising an oil recuperator arranged to pivot angularly via adjustment means relative to said two walls so as to position the oil recuperator at the lowest point or at a point situated below the point of attachment between the pylon and the nacelle of the propulsion unit. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] In the field of airship propulsion, the use of propeller propellers fixed to the cell located under the airship is known.
[0003] In particular, these propellers are fixed vertically opposite the balloon, or the cell located under the balloon, when the latter is located in a horizontal plane or on flat ground.
[0004] A thruster comprising a vertical pylon at the end of which is located a nacelle containing the propulsion equipment such as an engine, a gear train rotation speed reducer and a propeller is widespread. In addition, the reducer requires an oil circulation which lubricates said gears. An oil collector is arranged at the base of the gear train housing in order to recover the oil flowing by gravity.
[0005] The need for increased power requires the multiplication of propellers around the balloon.
[0006] However, the non-vertical arrangement of a propellant causes an angular offset of the nacelle, so that the oil collector is also angularly offset relative to the vertical defined by gravity, and thus can no longer recover all the oil.
[0007] The invention aims to remedy this problem. SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0008] To this end, and according to a first aspect, the invention proposes a gear train housing for an airship propellant, said housing being arranged to contain oil lubricating the gear train, characterized in that it comprises:

[0012] - at least the nacelle wall and the intermediate wall comprise means of angular adjustment so as to adjust the angular position of said walls relative to each other.
[0013] The housing according to the invention makes it possible to position the oil collector opposite the propulsion unit nacelle in any angular orientation of the pylon connecting the balloon to the nacelle. This solution also makes it possible to limit the number of parts to be modified.
[0014] According to various improvements which can be combined with each other and combined with the preceding embodiments, the housing can comprise one or more of the following characteristics:
[0015] - the hood wall comprises angular adjustment means;

[0018] - preferably, the orifices are arranged in an arc of a circle, preferably in a circle;
[0019] - the intermediate wall comprises two radially extending shoulders, each shoulder extending from an axial end of said wall and comprising the adjustment means.
[0020] According to a second aspect, the invention provides a gear train for an airship propellant comprising a housing according to one or more of the characteristics of the first aspect.
[0021] According to a third aspect, the invention proposes an assembly or a kit comprising a housing according to one or more of the characteristics of the first aspect and a set of conduits comprising at least one conduit arranged to connect the oil collector with an oil circulation pump equipping the gear train, and at least one conduit connecting said pump with an oil distribution system on the gears.
[0022] According to a fourth aspect, the invention provides a method of assembling an airship propellant comprising a gear train surrounded by a housing according to one or more of the characteristics of the first aspect, the method comprising the following steps:
[0023] - supply or manufacture the walls,
[0024] - place the intermediate wall on the nacelle wall and orient it angularly, via the adjustment means, the intermediate wall so as to locate the oil collector at the lowest point.
[0025] Preferably, the method may further provide the following steps:
[0026] - connect at least one conduit, preferably of adjusted length, between the receiver oil cooler and an oil circulation pump fitted to the gear train, and
[0027] - connecting at least one conduit, preferably of adjusted length, between said pump and an oil distribution system on the gears.
[0028] Adjusted length means a length equal to or corresponding to the spacing between the two parts concerned and a functional clearance length.
[0029] The method may further provide for the arrangement of the cover wall on the intermediate wall, so as to close the reducer or close the enclosure in which the gear train is located. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0036] The figure shows, according to one embodiment, an arrangement of several propeller thrusters 200 around the envelope of an airship 100 seen from the front. Six thrusters 200 are shown on each lateral side of the balloon. Preferably, the The lateral thrusters extend in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis of the balloon. The thrusters are spaced apart by a few angular degrees. The first lateral thruster extends at an angle of between 50 and 80 degrees relative to the vertical P defined by the direction of gravity and relative to the top of the balloon. In addition, other thrusters are visible along other inclination planes.
[0037] In connection with Figures 2a, 2b, 3 and 4, an embodiment of a gear train housing for a propeller propulsion unit of an airship is described.
[0038] The propeller propulsion unit 200 comprises a pylon 201 and a nacelle 202. The nacelle 202 comprises or carries the motor-reduction means and the propulsion means. The pylon 201 connects the nacelle 202 to the dirigible balloon 100. With reference to [Fig.l], the pylon 201 extends radially relative to the longitudinal direction or axis of the balloon. With reference to Figures 2a and 3, the longitudinal axis of the pylon L extends vertically along the direction of gravity P. With reference to Figures 2b and 4, the longitudinal axis of the pylon L extends along a direction having a non-zero angle relative to the vertical defined by the direction of gravity P.
[0039] With reference to Figures 2a and 2b, the thruster 200 comprises blades 210 seen detached from the propeller shaft 211 to further visualize the housing 10. In addition, the thruster comprises a motor shaft rotation speed reducer (not visible) disposed between the motor shaft and the propeller shaft. The thruster comprises a housing 10 defining an enclosure in which the gear train of the reducer and a lubricant distribution system are located. The housing 10 is located on a front face of the nacelle 202.
[0040] According to the proposed embodiment, the housing 10 comprises:
[0041] - a nacelle wall 11,
[0042] - a hood wall 14, and
[0043] - an intermediate wall 12 arranged between the nacelle wall 11 and the cowl wall 14.
[0044] Preferably, the housing 10 has a circular shape, preferably each wall has a circular shape.
[0045] According to one embodiment, the nacelle wall has the shape of a flange, in particular a disc separate from the front face of the nacelle. According to another embodiment, the nacelle wall is merged with the front face of the nacelle.
[0046] Preferably, the cover wall 14 has the shape of a flange, in particular a disc, arranged at the axial end of the reducer.
[0047] Preferably, the intermediate wall 12 has the shape of a circular tube.
[0048] Furthermore, the housing 10 comprises a lubricant recuperator 13, in particular oil. The oil recuperator 13 is in fluid communication with the enclosure of the housing so that oil can flow along the inner faces of said walls to the collector, the intermediate wall acting as an oil recovery ring.
[0049] The housing 10 comprises means for angular adjustment of the oil collector 13 around the gear train. With reference to Figures 3 and 4, the angular adjustment means comprise orifices 20 arranged on the periphery of the walls and angularly spaced by a few degrees; the orifices of the nacelle and intermediate walls are not visible.
[0050] Preferably, the oil collector 13 is connected to the intermediate wall 12. According to an embodiment not shown, the intermediate wall comprises two collars, each collar being at an axial end of the wall. Preferably, each collar has angular adjustment means, for example angularly spaced orifices.
[0051] When assembling the housing, the intermediate wall can be arranged in a desired angular orientation with respect to the nacelle wall. Then the hood wall can be arranged on the intermediate wall to close the enclosure of the housing, regardless of the position of the intermediate wall.
[0052] When assembling a thruster, it is then possible to adjust the angular position of the oil collector so that it is located at the lowest point and thus recover a maximum possible quantity of oil. For example, with reference to FIGS. 2b and 4, the oil collector 13 is located below the lowest point of the cowl wall 14 and also below the connection point between the pylon 201 and the nacelle.
[0053] The angular positions of the walls can be locked by locking means known to those skilled in the art, for example by screwing.
[0054] With reference to Figures 3 and 4, the recovered oil can be pumped by an oil pump 30 via conduits 51 and 52 to be redistributed via a distribution system 40.
[0055] For reasons of economy, it is possible to adjust the length of the oil conduits 51, 52; the length of the gap between the oil collector and the oil pump on the one hand, and / or the length of the gap between the oil pump and the distribution system on the other hand can vary according to the angular offset of the oil collector and / or the positioning of the oil pump and the distribution system.
[0056] Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment(s) described and variant embodiments can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
