Description

Title of the invention: Bottle presentation and protection device TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for presenting and protecting a bottle and in particular a device adapted to accommodate a valuable, fragile, large bottle, such as a bottle of alcohol or liqueur. TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] There are many bottle formats to accommodate liquids such as alcohol or perfume.

[0003] Among these formats, large bottles can be more than five liters, sometimes up to 18 liters, in the so-called "Melchior" format.

[0004] One bottle format is the so-called "Dame Jeanne," which comes in various capacities and has a distinctive rounded shape, sometimes resembling a teardrop. When placed on a surface, a Dame Jeanne-shaped bottle is unstable and fragile. They can be quite large and therefore difficult to handle. They are also heavy due to the amount of liquid they contain. Furthermore, these bottles, often made of glass, are slippery. Such bottles often contain precious liquids, for example, rare spirits or valuable liqueurs. Consequently, there is a need for supports and protection for Dame Jeanne bottles, and more generally, for large glass bottles with a distinctive shape.

[0005] To protect and provide support on a flat surface for demijohns, a known traditional device is a wicker basket that holds the bottle. The basket can be woven around the bottle and is discarded with the bottle when it is empty. Thus, the wicker basket is often not reusable for another bottle.

[0006] Presenting a demijohn bottle protected by a wicker basket is unsatisfactory, as the wicker hides the bottle and its contents. This greatly diminishes the tasting experience: viewing the contents is an important part of a user's appreciation of a tasting. Furthermore, the wicker basket, by concealing the bottle and its contents, prevents a user performing a pipette pour, as is traditionally done with bottles of this size, from knowing the volume of contents remaining in the bottle.

[0007] Finally, handling a demijohn protected by a wicker basket is not ideal because the external shape of the bottle is preserved by the wicker basket, which is woven around the bottle. The wicker basket therefore cannot take any desired shape, at the risk of not sufficiently holding the bottle inside.

[0008] There is therefore a need to be able to have a satisfactory and thus visible presentation of a large bottle while allowing for good reusable protection and easier handling, limiting the risk of breakage of the bottle. Summary of the invention

[0009] The invention offers a solution to the problems mentioned above, by providing good protection for the bottle and a presentation of the bottle visible from outside the device, as well as a more reliable grip than the prior art. The invention also provides a reusable device.

[0010] One aspect of the invention thus relates to a device for presenting and protecting a bottle comprising a neck and a base, the device comprising: • at least one base intended to receive the base of the bottle, • a plurality of bottle protection hoops spaced laterally each other and distributed in different positions around the perimeter of the base, each protective arch comprising: • a first end connected to the base via a pivot joint and • a second end, the device having a closed configuration in which the second end of each protective hoop is held to a closing means surrounding at least part of the neck of the bottle, and an open configuration in which the protective hoops each have their second end free and away from the neck of the bottle to allow the bottle to be removed from the base, a transition from the closed configuration to the open configuration being achieved by pivoting each protective hoop around the pivot joint to move its second end away from the neck of the bottle.

[0011] Thanks to the invention, the protection, presentation, and handling of the bottle are improved. Indeed, thanks to the device and the space between the protective hoops, it is possible to see a bottle held by the device from the outside. Furthermore, the protective hoops extend from the base of the device according to the invention to the neck of the bottle, providing good protection over a large portion of the bottle. Moreover, the presence of a base, a closure means at the neck, and the fact that the protective hoops are connected to the base and the closure means in the closed configuration results in a more rigid protective device, thus offering greater protection for the bottle than the prior art, and allowing for a good grip on the device and therefore on the bottle held by the device.

[0012] Furthermore, the device according to the invention has a transition from the closed configuration to the The open configuration, resembling that of a flower opening, allows for a satisfactory presentation of the bottle and good visibility of its contents. In its open configuration, the device according to the invention allows the bottle to be removed from the device and thus replaced, resolving the problem of reusing the protective device.

[0013] In addition to the characteristics mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the device according to one aspect of the invention may have one or more additional characteristics from among the following, considered individually or in all technically possible combinations: • The closure means comprises a first ring designed to slide around the neck of the bottle, the first ring including a means for attaching the protective hoops, • the means for receiving the first ring is a peripheral recess in the first ring, wherein each second end of each protective hoop comprises at least one curved inner surface intended to fit into the peripheral recess, • The first ring comprises a first magnetization means, and the second end of each protective hoop comprises a second magnetization means configured to collaborate with the first magnetization means. • The closure means includes a second ring intended to cover at least part of the first ring and at least part of the second end of each protective hoop to hold the first ring and each protective hoop together in the closed configuration of the device, • The device also includes a cap adapted to fit into the closure means and to hermetically seal the bottle, • Each pivot joint is formed by an opening in the base and by an axis from the second end of each protective arch inserted into the opening.

[0014] Another aspect of the invention relates to a system comprising the device according to the invention and a base intended to receive the device, the base comprising a raised central part intended to engage in a recess in the base, the raised central part and the recess in the base being configured to allow the base of the device and the bottle to be raised when switching from the closed configuration to the open configuration by lever action, the lever action being implemented by the protective hoops bearing on the base.

[0015] The base included in the system comprising a raised part associated with a The base's design allows each protective arch to rest on the base to create a lever effect, raising the base and the bottle held by the device, making it easier to access the bottle in the open configuration than without the base.

[0016] The invention and its various applications will be better understood by reading the following description and examining the accompanying figures. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0018] Unless otherwise specified, the same element appearing on different figures has a unique reference.

[0019] [Fig.1] shows a schematic representation of an exploded view of a system according to the invention comprising a device according to the invention in open configuration.

[0020] The invention relates to the device 1 for presenting and protecting bottle 2. The invention also relates to a system comprising the device 1 and a base 3.

[0021] The device 1 protects and presents a bottle 2. A bottle is a device intended to contain a liquid, and comprising at least a base 21 and a neck 22. The base keeps the liquid inside the bottle and allows the bottle to be placed on a surface, for example on a flat surface when the base 21 has a shape designed for this purpose, or for example on a surface designed to accommodate the bottle 2 when the base 21 has a particular shape, for example when the base 21 is domed.

[0022] The device 1 includes a base 11. The base 11 includes at least one part designed to hold bottle 2. The base has a shape adapted to receive bottle 2, meaning that when bottle 2 is placed on the base 11, it is stable and will not fall without external force. In a first embodiment not shown, the base 11 consists of a main part 111. In a second embodiment, shown in [Fig. 1], the base 11 comprises a first main part 111 and a non-slip part 112.

[0023] In the first and second embodiments of the base 11, the main part 111 is designed to accommodate the bottle 2, for example, by having a dimension large enough to receive the bottom 21 of the bottle 2. In other words, the dimension of the main part 111 allows the bottle 2, and therefore the bottom 21, to be placed on the main part 111. To achieve this, the main part 111, in the first embodiment where it stands alone, has a shape that accommodates the shape of the bottom 21 of the bottle 2. For example, if the bottom of the bottle 2 allows the bottle 2 to rest on a flat surface, the main part 111 alone can have a flat shape. For example, if the bottom 21 of the bottle 2 is convex, the main part 111 forming the base 11 can have a concave or substantially concave shape to accommodate the bottom 21 of the bottle 2.In such a case, the main part 111 may only have a first concave area and a second flat area.

[0024] In the second embodiment, the base 11 further includes an anti-slip piece 112. The anti-slip piece 112 is, for example, made of felt, a textile based on synthetic fibers, or any other anti-slip material. The anti-slip piece 112 secures the bottle 2 to the base 11. Preferably, the anti-slip piece 112 has a shape that allows the bottle 2 to be easily centered on the base 11, by being located at the center of the base 11 as shown in [Fig. 1], and for example by having a shape that accommodates the shape of the base 21 of the bottle 2. In the second embodiment, the entire base 11, including the anti-slip piece 112 and the main piece 111, has a shape that accommodates the shape of the base 21 of the bottle 2. For example, if the base of the bottle 2 allows the bottle 2 to rest on a flat surface, the main piece 111 and the anti-slip piece can have a flat shape. For example, if the bottom 21 of the bottle 2 is convex outwards, the main part 111 can have a flat shape and the anti-slip part 112 can have a concave or substantially concave shape to accommodate the bottom 21 of the bottle 2. In general, the combination of the shape of the main part 111 and the shape of the anti-slip part 112 creates a shape that accommodates the bottle 2.

[0025] Device 1 further comprises a plurality of protective hoops 12. Device 1 according to the invention preferably comprises at least four protective hoops 12, and even more preferably six protective hoops 12, in order to form a more protective and stronger structure for bottle 2.

[0026] Figures 2a and 2b each show a schematic representation of a protective hoop 12. The protective hoop 12 shown in Figures 2a and 2b comprises a first end 121 and a second end 122. A protective hoop 12 is a component extending from the first end 121 to the second end 122, along the bottle 2. A hoop can take many forms without departing from the invention. In the preferred example shown in the figures, the protective hoops 12 are hoops that are flat or substantially flat on their inner and outer surfaces. The inner surface of the protective means 12 is its surface facing the interior of the device 1 when the protective hoop 12 is included in the device 1, that is, facing the bottle 2 when the latter is held by the device 1.The outer surface of the protective means 12 is its surface facing outwards from the device 1 when the protective hoop 12 is included within the device 1, i.e., not facing the bottle 2 when the latter is held by the device 1. Preferably, as shown in a side view in [Fig. 2b], the protective hoop 12 comprises at least two curved portions 123a and 123b. Each curved portion 123a and 123b is curved outwards. A domed part 123a or 123b is in the shape of a semicircle whose center is located inside the device 1 when the protective hoop 12 is included in the device 1. The domed parts 123a and 123b help to cushion shocks that could damage the bottle 2. Thus, in the event of a shock, the protective hoop 12 absorbs the shock. The curved portions 123a and 123b also support the protective hoop 12 in the open configuration of the device 1, as will be described later. In one embodiment, each protective hoop 12 is substantially shaped like a half-pear, cut from top to bottom, i.e., bulbous at the base at the first end 121 and oblong at the second end 122, with a first curved portion 123a at the bulbous shape, and a second curved portion 123b at the oblong shape.

[0027] The protective hoops 12 are made of wood or metal such as gold. In one embodiment of the protective hoops 12 shown in [Fig. 3], the protective hoops 12 include a recess extending from the first end 121 to the second end 122. This recess is adapted to receive a strip of decorative material 124. The strip of material 124 and the recess are preferably magnetized to ensure that the strip of material 124 is held in the recess. The magnetization also allows the strip of material 124 to be changed to another strip of material 124, for example, to another strip 124 of a different material, or to another strip 124 of the same material when the previous strip 124 becomes worn. The protective hoops 12 may further include felt or any non-slip or shock-absorbing material on the inner surface, in order to better protect the bottle 2 held by the device 1.

[0028] The first end 121 of each protective hoop 12 is adapted to be connected to the base 11. Each protective hoop 12 is connected to the base 11 by a mechanical linkage between the first end 121 of the protective hoop 12 and the base 11. The mechanical linkage is preferably a pivot joint, as shown in the figures. The pivot joint allows the protective hoops 12 to pivot around the base to move their second end 122 closer to or further from the inside of the device 1 and therefore from the bottle 2 when the latter is held by the device 1. The pivot joint can be made in any way, with part of the elements enabling the pivot joint being included in the base 11 and the other part being included in the protective hoop 12. For example, as shown in the figures, and in particular in [Fig.[Fig. 4], which shows a schematic representation of a base 11 connected to protective hoops 12, and in [Fig. 2a], the base 11 comprises a plurality of openings 11A to 11D, and each protective hoop 12 comprises a first end 121 including at least one axis, for example formed by two opposing studs 121A and 121B. The opposing studs are included in the end 121, which preferably has a width less than the width of the rest of the protective hoop 12, in order to fit into one of the openings 11A to 11D. The openings 11A to 11D then include at least one groove into which the axis formed by the studs 121A and 121B fits. The openings 111A to 111D preferably comprise a first substantially horizontal groove having a width equal to the diameter of the studs 121a and 121b, and then a second substantially vertical groove also having a width equal to the diameter of the studs 121a and 121b, in order to create a dead end when the axis is followed by the first groove and then the second groove, thus creating a removable pivot joint by following the reverse path. The invention covers any method of achieving a pivot joint between the base 11 and the protective hoops 12.

[0029] The protective hoops 12 are sized such that their second end 122 reaches the neck of the bottle 2 when the device 1 holds a bottle 2 for which it has been sized and when the device 1 is in its closed configuration, that is, in the configuration in which the protective hoop 12 is closest to the neck of the bottle 2. Thus, for a 3-liter bottle 27 centimeters high, the second end 122 of the protective hoop 12 can be at a height, measured from the base 11 and in the closed configuration of the device 1, of between 23.5 and 27 centimeters. For a 5-liter bottle 31 centimeters high, the second end 122 of the protective hoop 12 can be at a height, measured from the base 11 and in the closed configuration of the device 1, of between 26.8 and 31 centimeters.

[0030] The device 1 according to the invention thus has a closed configuration, in which the second end 122 of the protective hoops 12 is closest to the neck 22 of the bottle 2, and an open configuration, in which the protective hoops 12 are away from the bottle 2, i.e., their second end 122 is at a distance from the neck 22 of the bottle 2. Moreover, in the open configuration, the second ends 122 are "free", i.e., they are not held by the closing means 13. The bottle 2 is then accessible, and it is possible to remove the bottle 2 from the device 1, in order to put a new bottle 2 in the device 1.In the open configuration, device 1 allows the bottle 2 to be removed from device 1, i.e., the largest width dimension of bottle 2, for example, the largest diameter of bottle 2, is less than a distance between the second ends 122 of the protective hoops 12 in the open configuration, i.e., when the second ends 122 of the protective hoops 12 are away from the neck 22 of bottle 2. In the open configuration of device 1, the protective hoops 12 rest on the surface on which the base 11 is placed, for example, at the level of the first convex part 123a. In a variant presented later in the description, the base 11 is placed on a base 3 and the protective hoops 12 rest on a flared part of the base 3.

[0031] In the closed configuration of the device 1, the protective hoops 12 are held to a closure means 13 via their second end 122, the closure means 13 surrounding at least a portion of the neck 22 of the bottle 2. A "closure means" is a means for holding the device 1 in the closed configuration. The protective hoops 12 are each intended to cover at least a portion of the bottle 2 in the closed configuration of the device 1. Furthermore, in the closed configuration of the device 1, the protective hoops 12 are spaced laterally from one another and are arranged, in different positions, around the perimeter of the base 11. They may be distributed with a fixed distance between them, or with variable distances between them. Thus, a space 15 is created between at least two protective hoops 12, preferably between each protective hoop 12 and its neighboring protective hoops 12.The space 15 thus formed is an opening in the device 1 through which it is possible to see the bottle 2. Thus, the bottle 2 is visible from outside the device 1 while being protected. To create a space 15 as shown in [Fig. 6], the protective hoops 12 are preferably all identical and have a maximum width such that the sum of the maximum widths of the protective hoops 12 is less than the maximum diameter of the device 1. "Spaced apart" means that they are positioned around the base 11 in such a way that at least one space is created between each hoop 12. In the closed configuration, the protective hoops 12 are thus spaced apart, except at their ends. ends 121 and 122. In open configuration, the protective hoops 12 are spaced apart from each other, except at their first end 121.

[0032] Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment, the protective hoops 12 include a bevel at their first ends 121. Thus, in the closed configuration, the first ends 121 form a substantially homogeneous surface, i.e., they do not contain any gaps allowing the bottle to be seen between them. This provides better protection for the bottle 2 in the closed configuration, and facilitates the transition from the open to the closed configuration due to the absence of friction between the protective hoops 12, particularly at the first ends 12.

[0033] The transition from the closed to the open configuration is achieved by pivoting each protective hoop 12 around the mechanical link with the base 11, when the hoops 12 are no longer held to the closing means 13, for example, because these have been unscrewed and / or by the application of a force greater than the magnetic force of the closing means 13. During the transition from the closed to the open configuration, each hoop 12 pivots, the first end 121 remaining attached to the base 11 because it is connected to the base 11 by the mechanical link, and the second end 122 moving away from the neck 22 of the bottle 2. Thus, an opening similar to that of a flower is achieved by the device 1 according to the invention. The opening of the device 1 is therefore easy, predictable, and smooth.

[0034] In a first embodiment of the closure means 13, the closure means 13 is a first ring 131. In a second embodiment, the closure means 13 comprises the first ring 131 and a second ring 132.

[0035] In the first embodiment of the closure means 13, the first ring 131 is configured to hold the protective hoops 12 when their second end 121 is close to the neck 22 of the bottle 2, i.e. in closed configuration. The ring 131 is also configured to surround at least part of the neck 22 of the bottle 2, and therefore to slide around the neck 22, that is to say it has a diameter sufficient to grip the neck 22 of the bottle 2, without risking damaging or breaking the neck 22 of the bottle 2. For this, the bottle 2 can also have a neck 22 adapted to receive the first ring 131, for example by having a first diameter from the upper entrance of the neck 22, then by having a second diameter greater than the first diameter, the first ring then having a diameter between the first and the second diameters to come against the shoulder formed by the second diameter of the neck 22.

[0036] In a preferred embodiment, the first ring 131 comprises a first magnetization means. In this respect, it is magnetized, for example, by comprising a magnet and / or a magnetized part. The second end 122 of each protective hoop 12 includes a second magnetizing means, for example a magnet, of opposite force, enabling the ring 131 to hold each second end 122 of each protective hoop 12 at the neck 22 of the bottle 2. The protective hoops 12 are thus held by the closure means 13, thanks to the collaboration of the first and second magnetizing means.

[0037] Preferably, the protective hoops 12 have a dimension at their second end 122 such that the assembly of the second ends 122 covers the ring 131, as shown in [Fig. 5]. To achieve this, the second ends 122 comprise at least one curved inner surface, adapted to conform to the shape of the ring 131 when the second ends 122 are magnetized to the ring 131. Similarly, the second ends 122 comprise at least one curved outer surface 122A, adapted to create a cylindrical or substantially cylindrical outer surface surrounding the neck 22 when the second ends 122 are magnetized to the ring 131. Finally, the second ends 122 are such that, held together by means of a fastener 13, they form a circular ring of revolution. To achieve this, each second end 122 comprises two surfaces 122B.When, viewed from above, two straight lines pass through the segments formed by the surfaces 122B, the two lines meet at a center O and form an angle α. This angle α is such that the sum of the angles α at each second endpoint 122 is equal to 360°. Preferably, all the angles α at the second endpoints 122 are equal, thus forming a circular ring of revolution. The protective hoops 12 then form a substantially homogeneous surface at their second endpoints 122, as shown in [Fig. 5]. Preferably, the ring 131 includes at least one means for receiving the protective hoops 12. Even more preferably, this means is a peripheral recess, not shown, and the curved inner surface of the second endpoints 122 is contained within a projection adapted to fit into the peripheral recess of the ring 131.The projection is adapted to fit into the peripheral recess of the ring 131 in that it has a height suitable for fitting into the peripheral recess, i.e., a height less than the height of the peripheral recess. Thus, retention by the fastening means 13 is better with a peripheral recess than without. The combination of the presence of a magnet and a peripheral recess in the ring 131 is the preferred embodiment of the ring 131.

[0038] Figure 6 shows a schematic representation of the device 1 in its closed configuration, in the second embodiment of the closing means 13. In the second embodiment, the closing means 13 comprise the first ring 131 and a second ring 132, as also shown in Figure 1. The second ring 132 is adapted to hold the protective hoops 12 around the first ring 131. For this purpose, the second ring 132 has an outer diameter greater than the sum of the outer diameter of the first ring 131 and the thickness of the second end 122 of two protective hoops 12. The second ring is therefore configured to surround: • at least a portion of the second end 122 of all the protective hoops 12, • the first ring 131 and • the neck 22 of bottle 2.

[0039] The second ring 132 preferably comprises a circular ring of revolution, the circular ring of revolution comprising an outer surface visible from outside the device 1 and an inner surface giving on the neck 22 of the bottle 2 when the second ring 132 retains the protective hoops 12 around the first ring 131. Preferably, the second ring 132 comprises an upper surface, the upper surface comprising a circular opening centered on an upper opening of the neck 22 of the bottle 2, in order to accommodate a stopper presented later.

[0040] To retain the protective hoops 12 to the first ring 131, the first ring 131 and the second ring 132 can, in a preferred embodiment, form a screw-nut system, in which one of the two rings 131 and 132 has a thread and the other of the two rings 131 and 132 has a tapped hole configured to receive the thread. Preferably, the first ring 131 has the thread and the second ring 132 has the tapped hole on the inner surface of the circular ring of revolution. Thus, the second ring 132, which has a diameter larger than the diameter of the first ring, is screwed onto the first ring 132 to retain the protective hoops 12 to the first ring 131, in addition to the magnetic force when it is applied.

[0041] As shown in [Fig. 6], in one embodiment, the device 1 further comprises a bottle stopper 14, adapted to the device 1 and the bottle 2. For this purpose, as shown in Figures 1 and 7, the stopper 13 comprises a gripping portion 141 and a stopper 142. [Fig. 7] shows a schematic representation of the device 1, the bottle 2, and a base 3 seen in cross-section along a vertical plane. The stopper 142 is preferably made of cork and has a diameter sufficient to be gripped by the neck 22 of the bottle 2. In this way, it is configured to stopper the bottle 2. The gripping portion 141 comprises at least: • an external gripping surface 141a, preferably a surface of revolution, preferably again a surface in the shape of a circular ring of revolution for better harmony of the device 1, • an upper surface 141b at least partially closed, and • a closing means 141c of the cap 142 in the gripping part 141.

[0042] The closing means 141c for the plug 142 is preferably part of a screw-nut system, the plug 142 comprising a threaded rod 142a and the gripping portion 141 comprising a nut 141c. In such a case, the nut 141c is a threaded cylinder. The invention covers any means of retaining the plug 142 in the gripping portion 141.

[0043] Figures 1 and 7 show a schematic representation of a system according to the invention, the system comprising the device 1 and a base 3. The base 3 has a substantially flared shape, and is preferably a part of revolution about a vertical axis passing through the neck 22 and the bottom 21 of the bottle 2 when the bottle 2 is included in the device 1 and the device 1 is placed on the base 3. Even more preferably, the base 3 is a substantially circular part of revolution.

[0044] The base 3 is configured to receive the device 1. For this purpose, the base 3 has a diameter sufficient to receive the base 11 of the device 1 and has a shape adapted to receive the base 11 of the device 1. Preferably, the base 3 includes a raised central portion 31, called a "pad," the pad 31 having a shape adapted to receive the base 11 of the device 1. When the base 3 includes a pad 31, the base 11 of the device 1 includes a recess (not shown), of a thickness substantially equal to or less than the thickness of the pad 31. The thickness is a height along the vertical axis. Thanks to the pad 31 and the recess in the base 11, a lower surface of the base 11 rests on an upper surface 32 of the base 3.When the device 1 changes from the closed configuration to the open configuration, i.e. when the protective hoops 12 are no longer held to the closing means 13, the protective hoops 12 open away from the neck 22 of the bottle 2 and come to rest on the flared part 33 of the base 3. The base 3 then allows a more easy change from the closed configuration to the open configuration of the device 1. In addition, preferably, the protective hoops 12 and the base 3 are dimensioned so that the bottle 2 is raised in the open configuration of the device 1. For this, the protective hoops 12 rest on the flared part 33 of the base 3 to form a lever arm, lifting the base 11 via the pivot link between the first ends 121 of the protective hoops 12 and the openings 111A to 111D of the base 11.This leverage effect requires sufficient weight from the protective hoops 12 to lift the weight of the bottle 2 when it is empty. When the bottle is full, this leverage effect may not occur.
