Description

Title of the invention: Packaging with integrated crown template

[0001] The present invention relates to a new cardboard packaging primarily for packaging galette-type pastries. The packaging comprises a container with an interior space or volume delimited by a base and a peripheral wall, in one piece, with a lid that closes said volume. The container and the lid are made from the same cardboard blank, which is pre-scored and pre-cut so as to form a container and a lid that are hinged to each other during three-dimensional unfolding. They are therefore separated by a hinge formed by a transverse groove cut into the blank, which divides the blank into a first part comprising the grooved and cut portions to form the container, and a second part comprising the grooved and cut portions to form the lid.

[0002] The packaging of the invention, designed to hold, in particular, large desserts such as tarts, is even more specifically adapted to hold galettes (savory buckwheat crepes). This box is distinguished by technical characteristics that allow it to package this particular type of food, and includes in particular the accessory or accessories that are inevitably associated with it. Thus, the packaging alone, in its particular configuration according to the invention, makes it possible to create at least one crown, which will be awarded to the person who finds the bean in the galette.

[0003] Thus, more precisely, the cardboard packaging of the invention, which allows the packaging of cakes, is classically made from a single flat blank of pre-scored and pre-cut cardboard, said blank comprising two parts separated by a transverse groove, a first part comprising the bottom and the peripheral walls of a container of the packaging and a second part forming a lid for said packaging, the transverse groove forming a hinge between the container and the lid.

[0004] According to the invention, this packaging is such that the flan has a crown template integrated inside the flan, in which it is delimited by separation means made in the flan and manually operable.

[0005] The wreath template is therefore an integral part of the cardboard blank, in which it is drawn and from which it must be easily detachable. Given that the template is integrated into the packaging, and that the wafers are likely to leave grease stains on the inner surfaces of the packaging, it is then preferable to provide a means of protecting the wreath(s), which consequently occupy – according to the definition of the invention – a fraction of these inner surfaces.

[0006] This is why, according to one possible configuration, the crown template is at least partially covered, inside the packaging, by a coating Protective. This coating also serves another important function: after the ring template is separated from the packaging, some of the latter's walls / faces are left with a gap, since this template is an integral part of the packaging's blank. The missing portion, resulting from the separation, is then filled by this coating. It is therefore doubly useful to have this coating, which covers a portion of the packaging's interior surface, to protect the template from any contact with the ring on the one hand, and to replace it in order to maintain the integrity of the packaging on the other.

[0007] According to one possibility, the protective coating has a shape and dimensions that cover the entire crown template and extend beyond it by a band covering the entire periphery of the template. Proper attachment of the coating can thus be ensured, since the entire perimeter of the coating surface is in contact with the durable cardboard of the packaging.

[0008] Preferably, the protective coating is a cellulose-based film, such as a transparent film made of cellulose hydrate and, for example, marketed under the name cellophane. When transparent, such a film allows one to see if any product remains in the packaging without having to open it. Furthermore, it provides a barrier against microorganisms, which is desirable in the food sector, the packaging of which is the subject of this invention.

[0009] Given the expected dimensions of a crown, and in particular its length which must be compatible with a head circumference, the crown template is included in at least one long side of the packaging, preferably in a long face of the lid facing the bottom of the container. If the packaging is large, designed to hold a cake for a significant number of people, the crown template may, if necessary, be integrated only into this cardboard face.

[0010] In many cases, however, the crown template is simultaneously included in the large face of the lid opposite the bottom of the container and in another wall of the packaging, for example the wall of the container adjacent to said large face, from which it is then separated by the hinge.

[0011] Preferably, the tool-free separation means consist of dashed lines with alternating through incisions and unincised portions. It then becomes easy to detach the crown template from the rest of the packaging and to give it the final three-dimensional shape intended by its cutting.

[0012] According to one possibility, the crown template is a rectangular strip comprising two crowns or crown parts arranged end-to-end and separated by manually operated separation means. This rectangular configuration is particularly favorable for detachment, as a rectangular strip only has two directions for separation and is therefore clearly easier to separate. of the rest of the packaging. In addition, this design has the advantage of allowing for several distinct crown configurations, for example two small crowns or two parts of a single crown which, fixed in the extension of each other, lead to a larger crown.

[0013] The two crowns, generally of the same external profile so that the option of a large crown made up of two sections can be validly implemented, are separated from each other in exactly the same way as the separation of the rectangular strip of the packaging: similar or identical manual separation means are provided along the inner contour of each crown, means consisting of incisions alternating with solid portions.

[0014] For the final assembly of the crown once detached, the two crowns or crown parts include complementary fastening means at their opposite free ends. These therefore allow either the closure of each crown, or the formation of a larger crown, first by fastening the two separate parts into a new assembly along an axial direction and then by joining the two free ends of this assembly.

[0015] Advantageously, at least one of the two crowns or crown parts includes means for fastening in at least two possible closed positions. It is therefore possible to adjust the size of the crown discreetly.

[0016] According to one possible configuration, the fastening means consist of cutouts forming tabs near the free ends of the crown or part of the crown, the cutouts being made so that said tabs have an orientation opposite to each other at said free ends. This opposite orientation allows for male-female operation, with the tab located at one of the free ends being inserted into the cutout delimiting the tab located at the other end.

[0017] Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following description, relating to embodiments given by way of example only. Understanding this description will be facilitated in particular by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

[0018] [Fig. 1] shows the pre-cut and pre-grooved blank forming the two-dimensional base of the galette packaging of the invention;

[0019] [Fig.2] represents a variant including the protective coating;

[0020] [Fig.3] illustrates, in perspective view, the package formed in three dimensions, with the lid closed on the container;

[0021] [Fig.4] shows, also in perspective view, the variant of the packaging with the protective coating, before and after separation of the crown template;

[0022] [Fig. 5] shows the rectangular strip of cardboard bearing the crowns or parts of crowns; and

[0023] [Fig.6] illustrates the disassembly / reassembly of the crowns, showing in particular the making of a longer crown by means of the two disassembled parts fixed in an aligned manner.

[0024] With reference to [Fig. 1], the cardboard container of the invention is made from a single flat piece 1 of pre-cut and pre-scored cardboard to form a single package 1 as shown in [Fig. 3]. The piece 1 comprises two parts 10, 20 – respectively the container 10 and the lid 20 – separated by a groove 30 forming a hinge between the container 10 and the lid 20. The container 10 has a base 11 and walls 12, 13, 14, 15 intended to form together the peripheral wall of the container 10. The lid 20, similarly, has a large face 21 designed to face the base 11 when closed, and three walls 22, 23, 24 that slide into contact with the outer faces of the walls 12, 13, 14, 15 when the package 1 is closed.Flaps 16, 17 of the container 10 and 26, 27 of the lid 20 allow, for example by gluing onto the walls 14, 13 and 24, 23 respectively, the packaging 1 to be obtained in its three-dimensional version as shown in Figures 3 and 4. A slot 18 is also provided in the wall 12 of the container 10 to cooperate with a tab 28 formed after cutting in the face 22 of the lid 20. The blank and the packaging first, the first part and the container next, and the second part and the lid finally, have the same numerical reference because it is each time one and the same element, respectively presented flat and formed three-dimensionally.

[0025] The crown template 40 shown in [Fig. 1] consists of a rectangular strip separable from the rest of the package 1 via incisions in dotted lines 4L. This template 40 comprises two crowns 42, 43 or portions of crowns 42, 43, and in the configuration shown, it extends over the entire large face 21 of the lid 20 and over the wall 15 of the container 1. It is therefore traversed by the hinge 30. It is visible from the outside of the package 1 when the latter is formed and closed, as shown in [Fig. 3], parallel to the sides 23, 24 of the lid 20.

[0026] Figure 2 illustrates the addition of a complementary element: a coating 50 is applied to the entire crown template 40. This coating, for example made of a material known commercially as cellophane, is therefore a transparent or translucent cellulose derivative. In the example shown, it is also rectangular in shape, with dimensions slightly larger than the band of the crown template 40, on which it is centered, so as to preserve a peripheral area 51 allowing the band 50 to be glued all around the template 40. Thus, when the template 40 is separated from the rest of the packaging 1 (see Figure 4), at right) by detachment along the interrupted line 41, the coating strip 50 remains firmly attached to said packaging 1. It becomes in a way a window which makes it possible in particular to see whether the packaging 1 is empty or not.

[0027] Figure 4 shows the two configurations of the packaging box 1, first when it still has the detachable panel that constitutes the ring template 40 (left), and then when it does not (right), with the said template 40 shown detached between the two configurations. The left part of the figure clearly shows that the entire ring template 40 is separated from the interior volume of the packaging 1 by the lining 50 even when it is in place, so that if the packaging 1 contains a galette, it cannot come into contact with the template 40. It is known that these galettes, particularly those made of puff pastry containing fat, can easily stain the interior surfaces of the packaging 1, leaving grease stains. Given the considerable surface area of the crown template 40, it would almost inevitably and probably quickly become stained if it were not protected by the coating film 50.

[0028] The wreath template 40, as shown in [Fig. 5], comprises two parts 42, 43, which are in most cases portions of a single wreath but can constitute separate, smaller wreaths, for example, for children. The two parts 42, 43 may have decorative motifs, which may be identical and separable via the manual dividing line 47 in broken incised lines. After separating the wreath template 40 from the packaging 1, a strip 40 is obtained as shown in the two drawings on the left in [Fig. 6]. In the leftmost case, the template 40 occupies the large face 21 of the lid 20 and the wall 15 of the container 10, hence the portion of the hinge 30 visible there, whereas in the second case, moving to the right, the template 40 is unfolded. Continuing to the right, the two parts of template 40 are separated by tearing along the cutting line 47.

[0029] Each of the two parts 42, 43 is provided, near its free end, with cutouts 44, 45 (see [Fig. 5]) which allow the crown to be self-fastened in all cases, both when closed and when extended. They thus allow the formation and closure of a larger crown as shown in the rightmost drawing of [Fig. 6], or the closure of two smaller crowns. The cutouts 44, 45 then function independently, although they are identical in design: one 44, 45 forms a tab that fits into the slot formed for the cutout of the other 45, 44. An alternative cutout 46, made in at least one of the parts 42, 43 of the template 40, can be used to adjust the size of the final crown, which then becomes available in two sizes.

[0030] The configuration examples shown in the figures should not be considered exhaustive of the invention, which on the contrary encompasses the form variants mentioned earlier: shapes of the template 40, of the coating 50, of the patterns of the crown parts etc.
