AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Disposable razors contribute to plastic waste and pollution due to their multi-material composition, and ergonomic handles can hinder effective shaving, particularly on one side of the face, leading to inefficiency and potential cuts.

Method used

A handle-less design featuring a pivoting blade housing clamped by the thumb and index finger, with optional flexible hinges or universal joints, allowing ergonomic shaving without a traditional handle.

Benefits of technology

Reduces plastic waste by 1 to 6 times and enhances shaving comfort and safety by enabling effective contouring on both sides of the face.

Description

Title of the invention: HANDLELESS MECHANICAL RAZOR PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a device intended to reduce the use of plastic during the manufacture of disposable mechanical razors. Also intended to improve comfort and safety of use.

[0002] Like many single-use items, disposable razors represent a source of considerable waste and pollution. Often made of two or three different plastics, but especially of metal parts, some of which are not magnetizable, sorting turns out to be a real problem to ensure their recycling. In addition, their packaging is, for marketing reasons, made of transparent plastic in the form of blisters, which adds to the problem.

[0003] The use of a handle, which is often very ergonomic, is not always satisfactory for effectively going around the contours of a face. The length of the handle does not bother a right-handed person on the right side of the face, but the left side is more difficult because unless you change hands, the length of the handle does not always allow effective application of the blades to the skin. Due to the twisting of the wrist, the blades then cut at an angle, are less effective and can encourage the appearance of a cut.

[0004] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome these drawbacks. It comprises, in fact, according to a first characteristic, the elimination of the handle, replaced by an oblong pellet hollowed out with a curved recess, intended to receive the end of the thumb. 2 distal arms are connected to the pivoting housing of the blades. This device makes it possible to replace the handle with the clamp formed by the thumb and the index finger. The thumb serves as a handle and the index finger presses on the rear of the pivoting housing of the blades and presses them against the skin thanks to the pivoting of the housing of the blades.

[0005] Without a handle, the device allows you to contour the face like a bent index finger fitted with blades and sliding over the skin of the face. Directly in contact with the skin, shaving is equally effective on one side of the face as on the other because the handle is no longer a problem.

[0006] According to particular embodiments:

[0007] The pivoting of the housing around the axis can be ensured:

[0008] - by the material itself, flexible at the pivoting point like a polypropylene hinge,

[0009] - or a plastic gimbal which replaces the hinge and provides greater comfort of use.

[0010] - the box can be dismantled and replaced by another box with blades new.

[0011] - the device or one of its parts can be made of plastic or metal of non-limiting manner.

[0012]

[0013]

[0014] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:

[0015] [Fig.l] represents the device of the invention.

[0016] [Fig.2] shows the device held in hand before use.

[0017] [Fig.3] shows the device in operation in dotted lines.

[0018]

[0019] With reference to these drawings, the device before use comprises a pivoting housing (1) provided with blades (9) connected by two arms (2) to an oblong pad (3) having a curved recess (4) intended to receive the end of the thumb (5). The index finger (7) presses on the rear of the housing (1) of blades (9) pivoting on an axis (8) ( [Fig.3]) distal to the end of the arms (2) connected to the oblong pad (3) and its curved recess (4).

[0020] The operation of the device is shown [Fig.3]. The contour of the face (6) is traversed by the pivoting housing (1) of blades (9). The thumb (5) and the index finger (7) pinch the device. The thumb (5) housed in the curved recess (4) [Fig.l] of the oblong pellet (3) forms a clamp with the index finger (7). The following of the contour of the face (6) by the pivoting housing (1) of blades (9) is a natural movement of movement as close as possible to the user's skin. The absence of a handle and the support of the index finger (7) on the housing (1) of the blades (9) pivoting around the axis (8) improve safety by allowing a firm support on the skin. This is not always the case when the pivoting housing (1) of blades (9) is located at the end of a handle several centimeters long and difficult to orient.

[0021] The material savings of a factor of 1 to 6 achieved by this device saves hundreds of tons of plastic material.

[0022] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the manufacture of ecological disposable razors.

Claims

Claims

1. Device for the manufacture of disposable mechanical razors, intended for improve the ecological impact and the comfort of use characterized in that it comprises a housing (1) of blades (9) pivoting connected by arms (2) to an oblong pad (3) and its obviously curved (4) intended to receive the thumb (5) which associated with the middle finger (7) forms a clamp which keeps the device in contact with the contour of the face (6) aided by the pressure of the index finger (7) on the back of the housing (1) of blades (9) pivoting on the axis (8) to obtain an effective shave because the absence of a handle facilitates and secures the operation and considerably reduces the use of plastic.
