Description

Title of the invention: Assembly forming a strip profile, intended to be fixed to the opening, respectively the frame, of a door whose opening / closing is carried out by an electromagnetic lock

[0001] The present invention relates to a strip profile assembly, intended to be fixed to the opening, respectively the frame, of a door whose opening / closing is carried out by an electromagnetic lock, the assembly comprising on the one hand a U-shaped strip profile and on the other hand, permanently fixed inside the profile, one of the two elements, namely the electromagnetic suction cup and the plywood made of material attracted by a magnet, preferably plywood, constituting the electromagnetic lock, while the other of the two elements of the electromagnetic lock, preferably the suction cup, being fixed to the frame, respectively to the opening, of the door. The present invention also relates to a door installation comprising an opening and a frame, a strip profile assembly of the above type being fixed to the opening.

[0002] An assembly of this type is already known from FR2884273Al. The profile extends in a longitudinal direction corresponding to the vertical direction of the door, having a substantially U-shaped cross-section comprising a top and two lateral branches extending on either side of the top to define an interior space intended to permanently receive the plywood of an electromagnetic lock. To permanently fix the plywood to the fascia profile, a nut is provided which abuts, by two lateral shoulders, against each of the distal faces of two edges coming from the lateral branches and facing each other at a distance from each other. The nut cooperates with a threaded screw passing through the plywood to make the plywood integral with the nut by screwing into the thread of the nut.On the other hand, to ensure the immobilization of the plywood in the vertical direction, a pierced proximal plate is provided, also of greater width than the distance between the two edges, arranged between the plywood and the nut and coming to bear, under the pressure exerted by the screwing of the screw in the nut, against the proximal faces of the two edges, the nut and the proximal plate taking each of the two edges in a vice.

[0003] In addition, an element made of elastomeric material, called a silent block, is arranged between the proximal plate and the plywood. The tightening of the screw in the nut is carried out in such a way as not to compress, or at least not to compress too much (for example not more than 30% in thickness), this elastomeric element, which allows the plywood not to be fixed too rigidly to the profile and remains floating. Indeed, if the plywood was fixed too rigidly by fully tightening the screw to the point that the elastomeric material was completely compressed between the plywood and the proximal plate, the electromagnetic lock, in practice, could not operate, because the two surfaces, respectively of the plywood and the suction cup, supposed to come into plane-to-plane contact with each other to achieve mutual securing by electromagnetism, never being perfectly parallel, could not come into plane contact with each other, and the door could not be closed.

[0004] This results in two contradictory injunctions on the force with which the screw should be tightened into the nut, since it is necessary on the one hand to ensure that the vice with which the nut and the proximal plate grip the edges does not loosen and on the other hand not to compress the elastomeric element too much. Thus, if the screw is not tightened hard enough into the nut, the vice loosens and the plywood comes loose and slides along the profile under the effect of its weight, and if it is tightened too hard, the lock does not work.

[0005] In FR2884273A1, this problem is solved by providing a wing provided with an opening for receiving the plywood. This opening has a dimension substantially identical to that of the plywood, so that the peripheral edge of the opening bears against the lateral peripheral surface of the plywood so as to constrain it in its vertical and rotational movements relative to the axis of the screw, and thus prevents it from sliding downwards despite the loose tightening of the screw in the nut.

[0006] In addition to the fact that the production of this wing with an opening in the profile requires complex manufacturing steps, it also forces the installer to plan in advance exactly where the plywood should be, thus complicating the installation of the profile. In addition, it often happens that the plywood "comes out" of the opening despite everything, in particular due to impacts, and then ends up sliding downwards.

[0007] The present invention aims to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a strip profile assembly of the above type which ensures both good operation of the electromagnetic lock of the door and good fixing of the plywood, respectively of the suction cup, inside the strip profile, while remaining simple, or even simpler, to manufacture.

[0008] According to a first aspect of the invention, an assembly forming a strip profile intended to be fixed to the opening, respectively the frame, of a door whose opening / closing is carried out by an electromagnetic lock, the assembly comprising on the one hand a strip profile and on the other hand, permanently fixed inside the profile, one of the two elements, namely the electromagnetic suction cup or the plywood made of material attracted by a magnet, preferably the plywood, constituting the electromagnetic lock, while the other of the two elements of the electromagnetic lock, preferably the suction cup, is fixed to the frame, respectively the opening, of the door, the strip profile extending in a longitudinal direction corresponding to the vertical direction, having a substantially U-shaped cross section comprising a distal apex and two lateral branches extending on either side of the apex to define an interior space intended to permanently receive the plywood, respectively the suction cup, the profile comprising: - at least one edge, preferably two opposite edges, projecting from the interior face of a branch, preferably of a respective branch; - a part forming a nut, abutting, by its proximal face, against a distal face of the at least one rim, preferably against the respective distal faces of the two rims, and cooperating with a main screw coming from the plywood, respectively the suction cup, in particular a screw passing through the plywood, respectively the suction cup, to achieve by screwing a connection of the plywood, respectively the suction cup, to the part forming a nut; and - an element made of elastomer material, called a silent block, arranged between the plywood, respectively the suction cup, and the part forming the nut, the screwing of the main screw into the nut being carried out in such a way as not to compress, or at least not to compress too much, the elastomer element so that the plywood, respectively the suction cup, retains, in relation to the profile, a clearance necessary for the proper functioning of the electromagnetic lock; is characterized in that the nut-forming part is fixed to the rim or to at least one of the two rims by means of auxiliary fixing means, in particular by means of at least one auxiliary screw, in particular self-drilling.

[0009] By thus providing for decoupling the loose connection of the plywood to the nut and the strong fixing of the nut to the profile, which in the prior art were carried out by means of a single clamping screw, the invention provides a more reliable and structurally less complex system for fixing the plywood to the profile, in particular by dispensing with the need for a vice.

[0010] Preferably, the or each auxiliary screw passes through the nut-forming part and a respective rim.

[0011] Preferably, the head of the auxiliary screw projects from the proximal face of the respective rim through which it passes.

[0012] According to another embodiment, the auxiliary fixing means consist of a proximal plate and at least one auxiliary screw cooperating with an associated hole, in particular two auxiliary screws and two associated holes, the proximal plate and the nut-forming part being arranged so as to grip the rim(s), the auxiliary screw(s) being screwed into the hole(s) formed in the proximal plate. and / or the nut-forming part so as to tighten them against each other sufficiently to ensure a good vice grip on the edge(s).

[0013] According to another favorable embodiment, the auxiliary fixing means consist of at least one layer of adhesive or glue placed between the proximal face of the nut and the rim or one of the rims or each of the rims.

[0014] According to a second aspect of the invention, which in itself constitutes an invention independently of the first aspect, but which can favorably be implemented in combination with the first aspect, the elastomeric element is in direct contact with the edge(s).

[0015] Preferably, at least one shim washer is provided, in particular two washers stacked on top of each other, arranged between the elastomer element and the plywood, respectively the suction cup.

[0016] According to another particularly advantageous embodiment, no shim washer is provided, the elastomer element being sandwiched directly between the plywood, respectively the suction cup, and the edge(s).

[0017] A third aspect of the invention, which constitutes in itself an invention independently of the first and second aspects, but which can favorably be implemented in combination with each of them, relates to a nut-forming part consisting of a nut, in particular of hexagonal shape, and of an envelope part enveloping the nut, in particular the material of the envelope part being made of a molding material, in particular a thermoplastic material, while the nut being made of a harder material, in particular steel or metal.

[0018] The nut part according to the invention can thus be easily manufactured on a large scale and with perfect reproducibility.

[0019] In particular, the envelope part comprises a base-forming part defining within it a cavity of complementary shape to the nut to receive the latter.

[0020] Preferably, on either side laterally of the cavity, the base-forming part defines two lateral promontories, one of the promontories extending over a greater width than the other, the two promontories being intended to bear against the distal faces of the two rims.

[0021] Preferably, the base-forming part comprises an oblong-shaped through slot intended to be passed through by the self-drilling auxiliary screw.

[0022] According to a preferred embodiment, in a projecting part of the base-forming part, a through hole is provided in continuity with the tapped hole of the nut, so that the main screw can pass right through the part.

[0023] According to a favorable embodiment, at least one overmolded tab, in particular two overmolded tabs, is or are overmolded on the distal face of the base-forming part of the envelope part, after introduction of the nut into the cavity, so as to to trap the nut in the cavity, the lug(s) projecting above the cavity without encroaching above the hole in the nut, thereby preventing the latter from leaving the cavity without destroying its function.

[0024] According to a fourth aspect of the invention, which in itself constitutes an invention independently of the first, second and third aspects, but which can favorably be implemented in combination with each of them or any two of them and all three together, there is provided at least one proximal longitudinal rib, in particular two proximal longitudinal ribs facing each other, projecting from the inner face of a branch, in particular of each branch, at a level further from the top than the two edges, so as to be at the level of the lateral surface of the plywood, respectively the suction cup, to prevent it from pivoting relative to the axis of the main screw.

[0025] The present invention also relates to an Installation forming a door, comprising an opening leaf and a frame, an assembly forming a strip profile according to the invention being fixed to the opening leaf, respectively to the frame, the other element of the electromagnetic lock which is not part of the strip profile assembly being fixed to the frame, respectively to the opening leaf.

[0026] By way of example only, preferred embodiments of the invention are described with reference to the drawings, in which:

[0027] [Fig.l] is a sectional view of a profiled assembly according to the invention;

[0028] [Fig.2] is a more detailed view of a portion of [Fig.l], at the connection between the nut-forming part and the plywood;

[0029] [Fig. 3] is a perspective view from below of the nut-forming part of Figures 1 and 2;

[0030] [Fig.4] is a perspective view from above of the nut-forming part of Figures 1 and 2;

[0031] [Fig.5] is a top view of the nut-forming part of [Fig.4];

[0032] [Fig.6] is a sectional view along line AA of [Fig.5]; and

[0033] [Fig.7] is a sectional view of a door installation comprising a headband following an embodiment different from that of the preceding figures.

[0034] In [Fig. 1], there is shown a sectional view of a profile 1 according to the invention. The profile 1 has a U-shape having a distal apex 2 (i.e. on the side remote from the door) and two branches 3, 4 respectively left and right, the branch 4 making an angle with the branch 3, so as to give a flared shape to the interior space of the profile.

[0035] A plywood 5 is fixed to the profile 1 in a manner described in detail below, while a suction cup 6 forms with the plywood 5 an electromagnetic lock, well known in the art. Preferably, the interior space of the profile is suf sufficiently large to be able to accommodate the plywood and the suction cup completely when these two elements are "glued" to each other by magnetism in the closed state of the electromagnetic lock, the profile 1 being fixed to the opening (see [Fig.7]) of the door while the suction cup 6 is fixed to the door frame.

[0036] A wing 7 projects laterally from the outside of the profile and acts as a handle that can be grasped by hand to pull the opening towards you when the lock has been deactivated, that is to say when the current has been cut, which has the effect of removing the magnetic field created by the suction cup, which then no longer attracts the plywood by magnetic attraction.

[0037] Two proximal ribs 8, 9 respectively left and right project laterally from the inner faces of the two lateral branches 3 and 4. These two ribs extend over the entire length (height) of the profile and are at a distance from each other such that the plywood can be arranged between them with its two lateral surfaces respectively left and right in the immediate vicinity of the two respective free ends of the two ribs. Thus, the two ribs prevent, by abutment, too great a rotation, relative to the vertical axis, of the plywood 5.

[0038] It should however be understood that the presence of these two ribs, although favorable, is only optional according to the invention, and in particular that one could provide only one or even none. One could also provide instead, a wing extending from one branch to the other and comprising a through opening in which the plywood would be received in a complementary shape, as is known in the prior art.

[0039] In [Fig. 2], there is shown a larger scale view of a part of [Fig. 1], namely at the level of the fixing of the plywood 5 to the profile 1.

[0040] For this attachment, two distal edges 10 and 11 respectively left and right are provided, coming from the two lateral branches 3 and 4 respectively, being closer to the top than the proximal ribs 8 and 9. However, without departing from the scope of the present invention, those skilled in the art will understand that only one edge could be provided instead of the two edges.

[0041] A nut-forming part 12 is arranged so as to have two proximal lateral surfaces 13 and 14 in contact with the distal surfaces of the two flanges 10 and 11, while a distal central surface 15 passes between the two flanges and is substantially flush with the proximal surfaces of the two flanges. The part 12 is permanently fixed to one 10 of the two flanges 10 and 11, by means of a self-piercing auxiliary screw 16 whose head 17 projects from the proximal face of the flange 10.

[0042] The nut-forming part 12 is fixed by a single screw 16 to a single flange 10. A second screw could be provided for a similar fixing to the other flange. Furthermore, it would be possible, without departing from the scope of the invention, to provide fixing by other means of attachment, in particular the interposition of adhesive, glue, hook and loop fasteners or any other means of strong or permanent attachment, i.e. requiring human intervention to undo the attachment.

[0043] The nut-forming part 12 consists of a nut 18 having a tapped hole and an envelope part 19 enclosing the nut 18, the envelope part 19 preferably being made of a molding material, in particular plastic, in particular Polyamide (PA), in particular PA6, possibly loaded with fibers, in particular at 30%, while the nut is preferably made of a harder material than that of the envelope part, in particular steel or metal.

[0044] The nut-forming part 12 is shown in more detail in Figures 3 to 6 and is described in detail below.

[0045] A main threaded screw 20 passes through a central hole 21 passing through the plywood 5. The hole 21 has a frustoconical shoulder 22 against which the head 23 of the screw 20 abuts and the screw 20 cooperates with the threading of the nut 18, so that when the screw 20 is screwed into the nut 18, the abutment of the head 23 against the frustoconical shoulder 22 has the effect of pushing the plywood 5 towards the nut-forming part 12 and towards the proximal faces of the flanges 10 and 11, relative to the nut-forming part 12 which is held in a fixed and immobile position by the auxiliary screw 16.

[0046] An O-ring 24 made of elastomer material, called a silent block, and a shim 25 in the form of a metal washer are arranged between the plywood 5 and the edges 10 and 11, being crossed by the threaded screw 20.

[0047] The main threaded screw 20 is screwed into the tapped hole of the nut 18 until the O-ring 24 comes to bear against the proximal faces of the two flanges 10 and 11 and the shim 25 bears on one side against the distal face of the plywood 5 and against the O-ring on the other side.

[0048] In the embodiment of the profile 1' shown in [Fig.7], no shim is provided, the O-ring 24 being in direct contact with, on one side, the plywood, and on the other side, the edges 10 and 11.

[0049] Preferably, the tightening of the main screw in the nut is carried out so that the O-ring is not or very little crushed, in particular so that its thickness does not decrease by more than 30% compared to its free thickness.

[0050] In Figures 3 to 6, the part 12 forming a nut is shown in more detail.

[0051] This part 12 is made up of a nut 18 of hexagonal shape and an envelope part 19 enveloping the nut 18.

[0052] The envelope part 19 comprises a base 26 of rectangular parallelepiped shape defining within it on the one hand a cavity 27 of a shape complementary to the nut 18 to be able to receive it within it, and on the other hand a through slot 28 of oblong shape intended to be crossed by the auxiliary self-drilling screw 16.

[0053] On either side laterally of the cavity 27, the base 26 defines two lateral promontories 29 and 30, one 29 of the promontories extending over a greater width than the other 30, the through slot 28 being formed at a distance from the cavity 27, in the promontory of greater width, the slot having its oblong dimension in the length direction (i.e. the length or vertical direction of the profile). The two promontories 29 and 30 are intended to bear against the distal faces of the two rims 10 and 11.

[0054] In a part 32 projecting from the base 26, a through hole 31 is provided in continuity with the tapped hole of the nut, so that the main screw 20 can pass right through the part 12.

[0055] Two overmolded tabs 33 and 34 are overmolded on the distal face of the base 26 of the casing part 19, after introduction of the nut 18 into the cavity 27, so as to trap the nut 18 in the cavity 27, the two tabs projecting above the cavity 27 without encroaching above the hole of the nut 18, thus preventing the latter from coming out of the cavity without destroying its function.

[0056] In [Fig. 7], there is shown a door-forming installation, comprising an opening 40 and a frame 41, a profiled assembly 1' according to the invention being fixed to the opening 40 while the electromagnetic suction cup 6 is fixed to the frame. It goes without saying that the profiled assembly 1 of figures 1 to 6 could replace the profiled assembly 1' in [Fig. 7].

[0057] According to another possible embodiment, the plywood could be fixed to the frame and the suction cup to the profile fixed to the opening.

[0058] In Figures 1, 5 and 6, dimensions of the various elements are indicated, in millimeters, solely by way of example.
