Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Method for managing notifications from a mobile telephone received on the dashboard of a motor vehicle Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for managing notifications from a mobile telephone received on the dashboard of a motor vehicle, a computer program product, a system for managing these notifications and a motor vehicle comprising such a system. State of the art
[0002] Motor vehicle cockpits are increasingly designed to integrate features of users' mobile phones. The most common example is the so-called "hands-free" telephone device allowing telephone calls to be made and received without taking one's hands off the wheel or one's eyes off the road.
[0003] Mobile telephone manufacturers, like automobile manufacturers, have developed programming interfaces enabling numerous telephone functions to be controlled from the vehicle's controls and, conversely, enabling notifications, messages, etc., sent by the telephone to be received on the motor vehicle's human-machine interfaces.
[0004] However, this has the disadvantage of harming the confidentiality of exchanges insofar as each call or notification is visible, or at least accessible, to all passengers in the vehicle and not just the driver.
[0005] There is therefore a real need for a method and a system for managing notifications from a mobile telephone received on the dashboard of a motor vehicle which can ensure the driver a certain degree of confidentiality of his exchanges. Description of the invention
[0006] To resolve one or more of the drawbacks cited above, according to a first embodiment, a method for managing notifications from a mobile telephone received on the dashboard of a motor vehicle, comprises the steps of: • detection of the presence of a passenger accompanying a driver of the motor vehicle; • passenger identification; • selection of a notification filtering level based on the result of passenger identification.
[0007] Thus, the notification broadcasts are adapted to the passenger presence context.
[0008] Particular characteristics or embodiments, usable alone or in combination are: • passenger identification includes facial recognition of the passenger
[0009]
[0010]
[0011]
[0012] • the filtering level is chosen from a list of filtering levels that can be configured by the driver; • the list of filtering levels includes at least one filtering level associated with the absence of a passenger and one filtering level associated with the presence of a passenger; • a list of known passengers is predefined and a filtering level is associated with each known passenger; • the motor vehicle including a voice assistant associated with notifications, the voice notification messages are modulated according to the filtering level; and / or • when receiving a phone call, the voice assistant will pronounce or not pronounce the name of the caller. In a second embodiment, a computer program comprises instructions for implementing the steps of a method as defined above during an execution of the program by a computing unit of said device. In a third embodiment, a system for managing notifications from a mobile telephone received on the dashboard of a motor vehicle comprises: • a detector of the presence of a passenger accompanying a driver of the motor vehicle; • a passenger identifier; • a notification filtering level selector based on the passenger identification result. In a fourth embodiment, a motor vehicle comprises a system according to the third embodiment. Brief description of the figures The invention will be better understood upon reading the following description, given solely by way of example, and with reference to the appended figures in which: • [Fig.l] represents a view of a dashboard of a vehicle comprising a notification management system according to one embodiment; and • [Fig.2] represents a flowchart of a notification management process according to one embodiment. Methods of implementation
[0013] The embodiments presented below refer to a motor vehicle, a car. However, those skilled in the art understand that these are also usable with other types of vehicle such as vans, vans, etc.
[0014] The terms “front”, “rear”, “top”, “bottom”, “transverse” are understood in relation to the vehicle.
[0015] With reference to [Fig.l], a motor vehicle 1 comprises a dashboard 3 comprising various person-machine interfaces: screens, voice interface, control buttons, etc.
[0016] The dashboard 3 is controlled by a controller 5.
[0017] The controller 5 may, for example, be integrated into the control system of the vehicle 1, such as an advanced driver assistance system, commonly called AD AS (for "Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems" in English terminology) which makes all driving decisions based on the environment and the programmed destination. The motor vehicle is then referred to as an autonomous motor vehicle. But it can also be a centralized vehicle management system including, or not, driving aids.
[0018] The transfer of data between the different elements is carried out by a CAN (for “Controller Area Network” in English) or LIN (for “Local Interconnect Network” in English) type data bus.
[0019] The controller 5 is connected to a connection interface 7 with a mobile telephone 9 of the user. This connection interface 7 can be wired, for example in the form of a USB-C connection (for “Universal Serial Bus type C” in English, or “Universal serial bus type C” in French) or wireless, for example in the form of a Bluetooth connection (registered trademark of Bluetooth SIG, inc.).
[0020] This connection interface 7 allows at least the operation of the “hands-free” kit of the motor vehicle, as well as the sending of notifications from the telephone to one of the person-machine interfaces of the dashboard 3. In particular, it allows, in the event of receiving a voice call, to send to the dashboard, the name of the caller when it is known from the user's contact book or the number of the calling telephone. Similarly, in the event of receiving a text message, it allows the dashboard to display the message and the name of the sender or to have them read by the voice assistant.
[0021] The controller 5 is also connected to a passenger presence detector 10. For example, the presence detector 10 may be the detector used by the systems seat belt and protective airbag (commonly called "airbag") which detects the presence of a passenger on each seat in order to activate the systems according to this presence.
[0022] The controller 5 is also connected to an identifier 11 of the passengers present. For example, the identifier 11 comprises a camera that can be directed towards the faces of the passengers associated with a facial recognition module comprising a database of people known to the user of the vehicle. These are, for example, family members or work colleagues.
[0023] The controller 5 also comprises a selector 13 for the filtering level of the notifications depending on the result of the identification of the passenger coming from the identifier 11. This selection takes place from a list of filtering levels comprising at least one filtering level in the absence of a passenger and one filtering level in the presence of a passenger. The filtering level in the absence of a passenger generally corresponds to an absence of filtering since no confidentiality rule is necessary. In the presence of a passenger, the filtering level may correspond to the suppression of the name of the caller or to the display of the information in an area of the dashboard visible only to the driver, and therefore to the inhibition of the voice assistant. Each filtering level may be associated with the passenger identification. Thus, the list of filtering levels may include a very restrictive filtering level corresponding to an unidentified passenger, a first intermediate filtering level associated with family members and a second intermediate filtering level associated with work colleagues. The difference between the two intermediate filtering levels may, for example, correspond to a list of interlocutors whose calls are accepted or not. This configuration of the list of filtering levels is carried out by the user of the vehicle 1 during a preliminary step, for example, upon receipt of the vehicle.
[0024] The operation of the system of [Fig.l] is as follows, [Fig.2].
[0025] Firstly, the system detects, step 21, the presence of a passenger or the absence of a passenger using the presence detector 10.
[0026] In the absence of a passenger, the system selects, step 23, the corresponding filtering level, that is to say, generally, the absence of any filtering linked to confidentiality.
[0027] In the presence of passengers, the system identifies, step 25, the passenger(s) using the identifier 11.
[0028] Depending on this identification, the system selects, step 27, a filtering level. In the embodiment described, the system therefore selects a filtering level from among the restrictive level and the two intermediate levels.
[0029] The notifications received are then filtered, step 29, according to the level retained.
[0030] [Fig.l] illustrates a system according to certain embodiments. The cutting presented is for educational purposes to highlight the various functions. However, it is understood that each block can be implemented using different means or their combinations, such as hardware components, software, one or more computers and / or electronic circuits. Each of the components may include at least one computer or a control-command unit. At least one memory may be included in each component. The memory may include computer program instructions or software code.
[0031] The computers can be implemented by any type of data processing device, such as a central computing unit, a signal processing processor, an application-specific integrated circuit, a programmable gate array, etc. The computers can be implemented as a single controller, or a plurality of controllers or computers.
[0032] The different modules are connected to each other by data links adapted to the environment. These can be wired or wireless.
[0033] For software, the implementation may include modules or units distributed in the form of procedures, functions, etc. The memories may be any type of storage circuit. They may be part of the processor circuit, or separate from it and connected via electrical data links. These may be non-volatile type memories, hard disks, random access memories, flash memories, etc.
[0034] Furthermore, the program instructions stored in the memory and processed by the computers can be any type of program code, for example, a compiled or interpreted program written in a suitable programming language.
[0035] The computer program instructions stored in the memory are such that, when executed by the computer, the latter performs one or more of the steps of the methods described above.
[0036] The invention has been illustrated and described in detail in the drawings and the preceding description. This should be considered as illustrative and given by way of example and not as limiting the invention to this description alone. Numerous alternative embodiments are possible.
