[0034] [Fig.6] and [Fig.7] represent respectively in plan and in perspective some possible variants of shape of the stick of [Fig.l]; and

[0035] [Fig.8] schematically represents certain stages of production of the stick according to the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0036] With reference to the above-mentioned figures, a stick is shown, in particular for the lips, generally designated by the reference number 1.

[0037] More precisely, it is a stick-shaped article, for example of circular section - [Fig.l] - and of a diameter between 8 mm and 50 mm, or with a plane of any shape.

[0038] The plan can for example be square, rectangular, star-shaped, with the corners possibly rounded.

[0039] The cosmetic stick 1 can be a product for the lips, eyes, face, body, for example, in more detail: lip sticks, such as lipsticks, lip balms or glosses, sticks for the eyes and face, such as eye shadows, foundations, concealers, makeup bases, tanning products, blushes, highlighters, body sticks, e.g. deodorants.

[0040] Preferred cosmetics may be: a lip / face / body stick balm with a morning dew / glow effect; a pH-reactive lip / cheek stick with a healthy glow effect. Various pH-reactive products can be used in various colors for a more natural effect; an eye stick: wet effect on the eyelids; an eyebrow stick: fixative, illuminator, stylish effect.

[0041] The stick 1 may have a substantially cylindrical or slightly conical profile. Advantageously, the stick may provide a cross-section to the main axis which may be tapered (only slightly or clearly visible) towards one of its end surfaces, which is also useful for ensuring a correct demolding angle from the mold 20 with which it is produced.

[0042] As can be seen in [Fig.7], the stick 1 can have one of its free ends (the one facing upwards) intended for the application of the cosmetic product according to various configurations.

[0043] For example, starting from the leftmost configuration (in [Fig.7]), the stick may have a substantially cylindrical shape, possibly tapered towards a free end 199. In this case, the fuselage is very light, used only for demolding, and practically invisible to the naked eye. The free end 199 may be a substantially flat surface inclined (at an angle other than 90°, for example close to 60°) transversely relative to a main axis of the stick (in a sausage slice).

[0044] According to the second embodiment of [Fig.7], the plane of the stick is always cylindrical and the end can be beveled, with a substantially flat part 200 having the purpose of defining, for the end user, a surface for first application of the cosmetic article.

[0045] The outer surface of the stick 1 may be visibly tapered towards this flat surface.

[0046] According to the third embodiment of [Fig.7], the stick 1 is substantially a cylinder having a free end 201 (for applying the product) substantially perpendicular to the main axis of said stick.

[0047] Again in [Fig.7], the stick 1 is a cylinder, but the free end has flat surfaces 203, 204, 205 with several facets and inclined differently relative to the main axis of the stick.

[0048] It should be noted that the illustrations in [Fig.7] are simplified representations of the stick, given simply as an example, of a final external form thereof which can, of course, be any kind of form, depending on the final aesthetic effect that one wishes to obtain, but also depending on the type of cosmetic product (lip stick, deodorant, etc.).

[0049] The cosmetic stick 1, preferably for the lips, is formed of at least a first A and a second B cosmetic product of different color.

[0050] According to the invention, at least the first A and the second cosmetic product B are transparent or translucent such that, when the stick 1 is observed from at least one lateral angle, at least one cosmetic product placed furthest from an observation point is visible transparently through the one placed closest to the observation point.

[0051] The first and second cosmetic products A, B are configured to partially absorb certain wavelengths and to allow others to pass through (by transparency) so as to modify the color of the stick when it is seen from said lateral angle, as will be explained with reference to Figures 3 to 5.

[0052] Advantageously, the stick 1 comprises a third cosmetic product C, also transparent or translucent.

[0053] The third cosmetic product C may have a different color from the first A and the second cosmetic product B.

[0054] The third cosmetic product can also be configured to partially absorb certain wavelengths and to allow others to pass through.

[0055] In fact, each cosmetic product serves as a filter which cuts certain frequencies of the light spectrum and lets others pass (through it), as we will also see below in the description.

[0056] Advantageously, the cosmetic products A, B, C are configured to partially absorb certain wavelengths and allow others to pass through, according to a principle of subtractive mixing of colors.

[0057] A particularly pleasant aesthetic effect is obtained when the color of the first cosmetic product A is cyan, the color of the second cosmetic product B is magenta and the color of the third cosmetic product C is yellow.

[0058] These colors represent the primary colors of subtractive synthesis.

[0059] A characteristic of the three cosmetic products A, B, C is to selectively absorb only certain wavelengths of light and to reflect the others. The "basic" color of each cosmetic product is therefore determined by the radiation subtracted from white light, which is why we speak of subtractive synthesis.

[0060] It is also possible for the stick to contain other cosmetic products, for example a fourth cosmetic product D - [Fig.6] - which may be a transparent and pearly white to create even more marked iridescent effects.

[0061] Of course, the stick can also have a different number of cosmetic products, from two to six, including with repetitions, for example two by two.

[0062] The primary colors of subtractive synthesis are: cyan, magenta, yellow -C,M,Y-; by adding all three of them together we obtain black. In fact, in subtractive synthesis, black is the result of the total subtraction of the colored radiation reflected by the pigments.

[0063] The subtractive primary colors advantageously used for three-color synthesis (and therefore for products A, B and C) are cyan, magenta and yellow and, ideally, they should act as filters: the first cosmetic product A (cyan) substantially blocks the red band, i.e. at wavelengths above about 580 nm, and consequently transmits (i.e. lets through) those of blue and green (this is the reason why the light transmitted by a dye of this type appears cyan); the second cosmetic product B magenta substantially blocks the green band, between about 490 nm and 580 nm, while the third cosmetic product C of yellow color substantially blocks the blue band, i.e. at wavelengths up to about 490 nm.

[0064] For example, it may be assumed that the values of each color are expressed as numbers between 0 and 1, where 0 represents no color and 1 indicates the maximum intensity of the color. For example, red may be represented as (1, 0, 0), green as (0, 1, 0), blue as (0, 0, 1), cyan as (0, 1, 1), magenta as (1, 0, 1), and yellow as (1, 1, 0).

[0065] Further assume that the colors cyan, magenta, and yellow have the same subtraction intensity as the primary colors:

[0066] Cyan absorbs red (R): (1, 0, 0).

[0067] Magenta absorbs green (G): (0, 1, 0).

[0068] Yellow absorbs blue (B): (0, 0, 1).

[0069] To calculate the color obtained when looking through the cylinder, we can use color subtraction as follows:

[0070] Suppose the initial light is represented by the color (R_in, G_in, B_in), which indicates the initial red, green, and blue intensity of the light.

[0071] When it passes through the cyan section, the amount of red subtracted becomes:

[0072] R_res_cyan = R_in * (1 - Cyan[0]) = R_in * (1 - 1) = R_in *0 = 0

[0073] Therefore, after the cyan section, the color becomes (0, G_in, B_in).

[0074] When it passes through the magenta section, the amount of green subtracted becomes:

[0075] G_res_magenta = G_in * (1 - Magenta[l]) = G_in * (1 - 1) = G_in *0 = 0

[0076] Therefore, after the magenta section, the color becomes (0, 0, B_in).

[0077] Finally, when it passes through the yellow section, the amount of blue subtracted becomes:

[0078] B_res_yellow = B_in * (1 - Yellow[2]) = B_in * (1 - 1) = B_in *0 = 0

[0079] Therefore, after the yellow section, the final color will be (0, 0, 0), which represents black.

[0080] In practice, because the translucent color sections of the filters are not perfect and do not completely absorb the corresponding wavelength, black appears as a very dark color.

[0081] Using the same logic, it is possible to combine primary colors several times or to combine primary colors and those resulting from them, or to add a transparent color with glitter and suspended particles, creating other variables and therefore different shades of color for an effect of intensity and brilliance, always according to the same principle of subtracting colors through translucent materials.

[0082] The effect described above is easy to understand from the analysis of Figures 3 to 5, in which the stick is "observed" from different points of view, indicated respectively by arrows I (corresponding to [Fig.3]), II (corresponding to [Fig.4]) and III (corresponding to [Fig.5]) of [Fig.2].

[0083] In [Fig.3] for example, the stick appears in three different colors and, more precisely, band I results from the subtractive superposition of product A and product C (cyan and yellow) and is green in color.

[0084] The second band II results from the superposition of the three cosmetic products A, B and C, and therefore tends towards black, or at least a very dark color (in shades of brown) taking into account the ingredients necessary for the production of the stick (for example gelling agents, esters, oils, pigments) which prevent the creation of perfectly transparent optical “filters”.

[0085] The third band II consists entirely of the third cosmetic product and is therefore magenta in color.

[0086] In [Fig.4], the first band I, which is made up solely of product A, is therefore cyan in color; the second band II, which results from the superposition of product A and product C, is therefore green. The third band III, which results from the superposition of products C and B, is therefore red. The fourth band IV, which is made up solely of product B, is therefore magenta.

[0087] In [Fig.5], the stick is seen from yet another angle. In this case, band I, which is made up of the second product, is therefore magenta, band II is black or very dark, band III, which results from the superposition of yellow and cyan, is therefore green.

[0088] Advantageously, the cosmetic products A, B, C are juxtaposed two by two and are in reciprocal contact.

[0089] The arrangement of the various cosmetic products in the stick can have various variations, as shown in [Fig.6].

[0090] In fact, when the stick is seen in plan, contact lines X, Y, Z, Q, between the different cosmetic products can be rectilinear as in the first, third and fifth version of [Fig.6] or wavy as in the second and fourth representation, still in [Fig.6].

[0091] Still seen in plan, the stick 1 can preferably have a circular profile and each of the cosmetic products can be arranged substantially in the form of a circular sector, as in the first, second and fifth versions of [Fig.6], or in the form of substantially parallel bands, as in the third and fourth versions.

[0092] It should be noted that the fifth version of [Fig.6], the rightmost, shows a stick having the three products A, B, C already described, while the cosmetic product D can be transparent in color with suspended elements, or a repetition of one of the three products A, B, C or a product resulting therefrom, thus allowing for color combinations of different intensity and effects.

[0093] The invention also relates to a method (partially illustrated in [Fig.8]) for producing a cosmetic stick 1, preferably for the lips, comprising the steps of:

[0094] a. provide a hollow mold (i.e. which defines a cavity 21), into which at least one first core 30 is inserted,

[0095] b. pouring between the mold and at least the first core 30 (therefore in the cavity 40) a first cosmetic product A heated until it becomes substantially liquid,

[0096] c. wait for the first cosmetic product A to cool and solidify,

[0097] d. extract the first core 30 from the mold,

[0098] e. pour into the cavity left free by the first core 30 at least one second cosmetic product B heated until it becomes substantially liquid,

[0099] f. waiting for the second cosmetic product B to cool and solidify,

[0100] g. optionally extracting a second core 31 from the mold,

[0101] h. optionally pouring between the mold and at least the second core 31 a third cosmetic product C heated until it becomes substantially liquid,

[0102] i. possibly wait for the cooling and solidification of the third cosmetic product C,

[0103] j. extract the stick from the mold.

[0104] In this process, the first A, the second B and possibly the third cosmetic product C, which are transparent or translucent, and configured to partially absorb certain wavelengths and allow others to pass through, therefore substantially play the role of filters.

[0105] Advantageously, as already pointed out, the cosmetic products A, B, C are configured to partially absorb certain wavelengths and allow others to pass through, according to a principle of subtractive mixing of the colors.

[0106] Preferably further, the color of the first cosmetic product A is cyan, the color of the second cosmetic product B is magenta and the color of the third cosmetic product C is yellow.

[0107] In the figures, the mold 20 is shown as a parallelepiped provided with a cavity 21, and is preferably made of metal suitably polished in correspondence with the wall which defines the cavity 21 to facilitate the separation and demolding of the stick. But of course, the mold may also have other shapes (provided that they define the cavity) and may be made of other materials, for example elastic, preferably silicone.

[0108] The core 30, 31 is preferably made of a rigid material, for example metal.

[0109] The cosmetic products A, B, C preferably used to make the stick can be anhydrous, based on waxes.

[0110] These, when overheated (for example above 60°C) take on a liquid consistency which allows them to be easily poured.

[0111] When, on the other hand, they are at room temperature (e.g. 25°C), they take on a solid, slightly pasty consistency.

[0112] An example of their composition may be the following: high-melting point gelling agents based on low molecular weight L-glutamic acid (DIBUTYL LAUROYL GLUTAMIDE, ETHYLHEXANOYL GLUTAMIDE, 12-HYDROXYSTEARIC ACID, LECITIN, etc.), non-polymeric, which assemble to form a rigid reticular structure for the formation of the stick. Esters, alkanes and oils of various typology, viscosity and polarity, antioxidant agents, and liposoluble active ingredients may be associated with this base.

[0113] Suitable colorants (to obtain the desired color of each cosmetic product) and additives intended to confer specific properties to the stick (for example perfumes, UV protection, emollients, refreshing agents) may be added to the basic composition described above.

[0114] Aesthetic elements may also be added to the basic composition (for example, mica-based pearls, calcium sodium borosilicate or calcium aluminum borosilicate, suspended particles, glitter, preferably in a minimal dose, from 0.1 to 0.8%, to minimize the impact on the transparency of the pencil, etc.).

[0115] We have seen that a stick as described above can provide a shimmering aesthetic effect depending on the point of view adopted to see it, by using products cosmetics of different colors which, depending on the viewing angle, overlap according to a principle of subtractive synthesis (or mixing) of colors, giving the stick a very attractive and innovative effect.

[0116] Various embodiments of the invention have been described, from which other modes and other embodiments based on the same inventive concept can be conceived.
