Abstract

The method for modeling the sensory appreciation of a group of cosmetic products (R1, R2), where the cosmetic products are characterized by sensory properties defined by sensory descriptors and by a set of meta-variables (MV1-MV7) determined by combinations of the sensory descriptors, includes a multivariate statistical analysis of the decorrelation of the meta-variables using principal components (MVMAP), and generation of the sensory appreciation model based on the principal components. Claims

the sensory assessment obtained by the method according to one of claims 1 to 7, so as to generate a decision tree (fig.4) comprising a sequence of conditions (<S1-S7 ;> S1-S7) on meta-variable values (MV1-MV7) leading to a theoretical prediction of the appreciation of the cosmetic product (1;0;-l).

9. Tool according to claim 8, in which the theoretical prediction of the appreciation of the cosmetic product is made for at least one type of consumer, and in which the sequence of the decision tree and said conditions are at least partly dedicated to each consumer group respectively.

10. Method for designing a chemical composition of a cosmetic product and adjusting the composition with chemical compounds having sensory properties, so as to satisfy a sequence of conditions on the meta-variables, resulting from a decision tree generated by the cosmetic product design assistance tool according to one of claims 8 or 9, resulting in a preference of said assessment.

11. Computer program product comprising instructions which, when the program is executed by a computer, cause the latter to implement the method according to one of claims 1 to 7, or the tool according to one of claims 8 or 9.

12. A computer-readable recording medium comprising instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to implement the method according to one of claims 1 to 7, or the tool according to one of claims 8 or 9. [Fig. 2] MV1
