Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and device for controlling a vehicle's software update (10). For this purpose, first data representing the vehicle's usage history are received. This first data includes data representing a set of historical geographic locations of the vehicle and data representing a set of time-stamped values ​​of vehicle usage parameters. Second data representing a current time point and a current geographic location of the vehicle are received. A time point for the vehicle's software update is determined based on the first and second data points. A validation signal for the vehicle's software update at the determined time point is received, and the software update is controlled based on the validation signal and the software update time point.
