In turn, the reference time, in one embodiment, may be used to determine other navigational information. Such navigational information may include, for example, the location/position of a satellite positioning system (SPS) receiver. In one embodiment, a relative velocity between an SPS receiver and a set of one or more satellites is used to determine an offset between time as indicated by the SPS receiver and the reference time. According to another embodiment of the invention, an error statistic is used to determine the reference time. An antenna system for a wearable electronic device includes a first conductive surface constructed from a segment of outer housing of the wearable electronic device. The invention relates to a time synchronization device in a radio navigation system, in particular to a high-precision time synchronization device, which solves the problems in the prior time synchronization device including long-time synchronization adjustment and inability of real-time monitoring and adjustment of clock signal. In the device of the invention, an industrial computer obtains phase difference signal output from a phase comparator via a GPIB bus, and respectively transmits a control signal to a synchronizer trigger, an atomic clock and a signal source via a RS232 serial communication bus; and the industrial computer further controls the operating state and the switching thereof. The operating state includes time synchronization state: the phase comparator obtains the phase difference of signals output from the synchronizer trigger and the atomic clock, and the industrial computer adjusts the signal output from the atomic clock to synchronize with the signal output from the synchronizer trigger; and monitoring state: the phase comparator obtains the phase difference of signals output from the atomic clock and the signal source, and the industrial computer adjusts the signal output from the signal source to synchronize with the signal output from the atomic clock.

A system and method for determining a time zone based date and time from a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal, the method including receiving a time zone reference signal at a telematics device, determining a local Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) correction from the time zone reference signal, storing the local UTC correction, and calculating local time from the local UTC correction and the GPS signal. In one embodiment, the time zone reference signal is the GPS signal. In an alternative embodiment, the time zone reference signal is a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signal. In yet another alternative embodiment, the method includes scheduling mobile vehicle communication system activities based on the local time.

The invention provides a software time synchronization method for a position and orientation system (POS). The POS comprises an inertial measurement unit, a POS navigation computer, a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver and the like. The time synchronization method comprises the following steps of: firstly synchronizing system time of the POS navigation computer to world coordinated time by using a GPS second pulse sent by the GPS receiver and a time counter; and synchronizing the data acquisition time of the inertial measurement unit with the world coordinated time through a method of correcting a frequency division period of a data acquisition pulse clock of the inertial measurement unit so as to complete the time synchronization of the POS. In the invention, the problem of reducing of synchronization accuracy of the POS in a short time due to the clock drift is solved through the method of changing the frequency division period of the data acquisition pulse clock, and the software time synchronization method has the characteristics of high accuracy and high anti-interference capacity.
