As shown in [Fig. 7B], the user has selected a new cosmetic style 200D, which is displayed superimposed on the image of the user's face 310 as the selected cosmetic style 201B. In this way, the user can change selections between any number of cosmetic styles from the plurality of 200A, 200B, 200C, 200D...200N. cosmetic styles 200A, 200B, 200C, 200D...200N before adjusting or printing a cosmetic style.

[0060] Figure 7C depicts a user adjusting the selected 201B cosmetic style according to their preferences. In some embodiments, Figure 7C follows Figure 6B in a sequence of steps. In some embodiments, the application suggests adjustments to the selected 201B cosmetic style. In some embodiments, the suggested adjustments are based on the user's face shape, the shape of a user's facial feature, the color of the user's hair, skin, eyes, or clothing, or a trend adjustment, for example, an adjustment that is trending with one or more users. In some embodiments, adjusting the selected cosmetic style 201B includes changing a color, size, length, width, hair size, pattern, angle, position, location, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, such as when the cosmetic style 201B has discrete elements, the discrete elements of the cosmetic style 201B can be adjusted independently. For example, if the selected cosmetic style 201B is a makeup overlay of a pair of eyebrows (as shown in [Fig. 7C]), each eyebrow in cosmetic style 201B can be adjusted independently. As another example, if the cosmetic style 201B is a lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow, the lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow can all be adjusted independently of each other.

[0061] In some embodiments, the selected cosmetic style 201B is adjusted using a plurality of sliders 250A, 250B, 250C...250N. In some embodiments, the selected cosmetic style 201B is adjusted using another mechanism, such as a plurality of presets, manipulation of the selected cosmetic style 201B with a touch display, or otherwise. Once the user is satisfied with the selected cosmetic style 201B, they can transmit the selected cosmetic style 201B as a makeup file to a printing device. In some embodiments, the software application can further store the selected and / or adjusted cosmetic style 201B as a preset, so that the user can select and / or print the same cosmetic style 201B later.

[0062] As shown in [Fig. 7D], user 300 applies the selected and / or adjusted cosmetic style to a surface with the printing device. In some embodiments, the surface is a face, skin, or hair. In some embodiments, user 300 is a second person, the first person applying the cosmetic style to the second person. In some In embodiments, the first person can be a trained user, such as a shop, salon, spa, or makeup counter.

[0063] During operation, the printing device 100 receives the makeup image file of the selected cosmetic style 201B from the intelligent device. The user 300 can hold the printing device 100 by the handle and move the printer over a surface. In some embodiments, the surface is a face. In some embodiments, the surface is skin or hair. In some embodiments, the surface is a facial feature 200. When the printing device 100 is moved over the surface, the printing device 100 detects a position and curvature of the body by relying on the position sensor and directs the printer to print the cosmetic style at a specific location, for example, a location adjacent to the printer applicator. In some embodiments, the user 300 directs the printing device 100 over the surface before selecting, adjusting, and / or printing the cosmetic style. In such embodiments, the printing device 100 is configured to detect a user's facial feature 300 to enable the software application to provide a recommendation based on the user's facial characteristics, detecting a position of one or more facial features or a combination thereof.

[0064] In some embodiments, the printing device 100 detects its own location on, or along, the surface and automatically applies one or more cosmetic styles to that location. In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is applied manually, as activated by a button or switch. In this way, the printing device 100 prints the cosmetic style only at the location desired by the user, based on the selected cosmetic style, adjustments made to the cosmetic style, or a combination thereof.

[0065] In one aspect, a method for applying a cosmetic style with a system is provided. In some embodiments, a method includes selecting the cosmetic style from a plurality of cosmetic styles, displaying the cosmetic style on an image of an individual, transferring the cosmetic style as an image file to a printing device, moving the printing device over a portion of the individual, and printing the cosmetic style onto the individual at a location based on one or more position sensors of the printing device. Figure 8 illustrates an example of a method 800 for using an example system (e.g., system 2000 or system 2500), in accordance with the disclosure.

[0066] In block 805, a cosmetic style is selected. In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is selected from a plurality of cosmetic styles. In In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is selected as shown in Figures 6A, 7A, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is selected from an eyebrow, eyeshadow, concealer, primer, foundation, blush, lip pencil, lipstick, bronzer, eyeliner, freckle pattern, facial hair, hair pattern, highlighter, or a combination thereof.

In some embodiments, the cosmetic style consists of one or more cosmetic dyes or inks stored inside one or more reservoirs of the printing device. In some embodiments, a primer is applied before the cosmetic style is printed, and / or a topcoat is applied after the cosmetic style is printed.

[0071] Figure 9 represents another example of method 900 of using an example of a disclosure system.

[0072] In block 905, a plurality of facial features in the body image of the individual are recognized, for example, by a software application of an intelligent device analyzing the image. In some embodiments, the plurality of facial features is recognized by the printing device, through one or more cameras on the printing device. In some embodiments, the depth and / or curvature of the plurality of facial features is recognized by the proximity sensor on the printing device. As described here, facial features may include the cheeks, cheekbones, eyes, eyelids, inner edges of the eyes (waterline), lips, eyebrows, nose, hairline, ears, chin, or similar features.

[0073] In block 910, the system recommends a cosmetic style. In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is recommended based on a trending cosmetic style, a user's hair, skin, eye, or lip color, a previous cosmetic style selected by the user, the shape of the user's eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, cheeks, or forehead, a user location, or the color of the user's clothing. In some embodiments, the cosmetic style is selected from an eyebrow, eyeshadow, concealer, primer, foundation, blush, lip pencil, lipstick, bronzer, eyeliner, freckle pattern, facial hair, hairstyle, highlighter, or a combination thereof.

[0074] In Block 915, the cosmetic style is displayed on the individual's body image, as described herein.

[0075] Optionally, in block 920, the user modifies the selected cosmetic style. In some embodiments, changing the cosmetic style involves selecting another cosmetic style from among the available styles instead of the current cosmetic style. In some embodiments, the user can change the cosmetic style several times before deciding to print it.

[0076] At block 925, the user adjusts the cosmetic style. In some embodiments, adjusting the cosmetic style includes changing a color, size, length, width, hair size, pattern, angle, position, location of the cosmetic style, or a combination thereof.

[0077] In block 930, the system prints the cosmetic style onto a part of the individual's body. In certain embodiments, such as those described herein, the printing device accurately detects and prints the cosmetic style onto a specific location on a user's body.

[0078] It should be understood that methods 800 and 900 are to be interpreted as purely representative and not exhaustive. In some embodiments, the process blocks of methods 800 and 900 may be carried out simultaneously, sequentially, in a different order, or even omitted, without departing from the scope of this disclosure.

[0079] Figure 10 shows an example of a second derivative graph of a curve fitted to a portion of an individual's skin, such as an eyebrow, with the second derivative plotted against position along a length of the curve. The example graph, or a data structure encoding the data for the graph, can be used to determine the start and stop points 11 for individual segments of the plurality of guide segments 111, as shown in the display. An example of a method, feasible at least in part by an intelligent device and / or a disclosure printing device, for determining the plurality of guide segments, includes imaging the portion of skin to produce an image of a feature of the portion of skin (e.g., an image of an eyebrow), analyzing the feature of the portion of skin to compute a geometric curve that is fitted to the feature (e.g., a best-fit curve), computing a mathematical or polynomial representation of the curve, and computing a second derivative of the mathematical or polynomial representation of the curve (i.e., a rate of change of a curvature or slope of the curve; "slope of slope").In some embodiments, thresholds for the second derivative are used to determine whether a particular second derivative data point corresponds to a significant rate of change in curvature of the original mathematical or polynomial representation. For example, if thresholds of -0.5 and 0.5 are implemented, second derivative data exceeding these thresholds indicate significant decreases and increases in the rate of change of the curve's slope at a particular position along the curve. These points are used as start and stop points for individual guide segments of the plurality of guide segments as shown in the display.

[0080] In some embodiments, such approaches are useful for producing guide segments for any kind of feature or peculiarity. For example, as shown in Figures 11A-1 IC, eyebrow shapes 112 are determined by analyzing eyebrow images, and best-fit curves are calculated and fitted to the eyebrow shapes 112. The curves are analyzed at the second derivative level to determine the start and stop points 11 for the plurality of guide segments 111 based on the rate of change of the slope of the original fitted curve at positions along the curve. Eyebrows exhibiting gradual changes in slope, as shown in Figures 11A and 1 IB, have at least fairly regularly spaced start and stop points 11 along the plurality of guide segments 111, while eyebrows exhibiting sharper or more abrupt changes in slope, as represented in [Fig.1 IC], have corresponding groupings of start and stop points 11 at corresponding positions along the plurality of guide segments 111.

[0081] As shown in [Fig. 12A], an example of a printing device 100 with a plurality of guide segments shown on a display (left) is shown next to a conceptual representation of a printer applicator 12 with respect to the plurality of guide segments 111 (right) during the application of a cosmetic style. In the configuration shown, the printer applicator 12 is adjacent to a portion of skin intended to be printed and is in a position aligned with the plurality of guide segments 111. When the printing device 100 is moved along the length of the skin feature and printing occurs, the printing device 100 may be misaligned with the skin intended to be printed. In such cases, as shown in [Fig.[l2B], the printer applicator 12 is in a misaligned position and a feedback device or component generates feedback 113 to alert the user to the need to change the course of the printing device 100. In some embodiments, "dry run" practice methods for the printing device may be used so that the user can practice the application movement of the cosmetic style on the skin area without actually applying the cosmetic style to the skin. In this way, the user is better prepared to actually apply the cosmetic style to the skin and has a lower risk of error and the resulting feedback 113. In some embodiments, the feedback 113 provided to the user by the feedback device or component includes audio feedback, visual feedback, audiovisual feedback, or haptic feedback.

[0082] As shown in [Fig. 13], an example of a method 1300 is shown for monitoring the application of a cosmetic style by a disclosure device and / or system and generating feedback for an individual in order to correct the application of the cosmetic style in real time.

[0083] In block 1305, the printing device or system recognizes and analyzes the characteristics of the eyebrows. In some embodiments, this occurs as a result of analyzing images of an eyebrow on the individual's face.

[0084] In block 1310, the printing device or system generates an eyebrow trace and / or an optimal fitting curve and calculates and generates the guide segment. In some embodiments, the calculation of the guide segment is performed by calculating the second derivative of the mathematical or polynomial representation of the curve and comparing the data points of the second derivative with respect to one or more thresholds, as described herein.

[0085] In block 1315, during the application of the cosmetic style to the skin, the printing device or system monitors the application of the cosmetic style to detect deviations from the intended application path. In some embodiments, this monitoring occurs continuously during the application of the cosmetic style, for example, as part of a repeated logic loop.

[0086] At block 1320, if a deviation from the intended path is detected (block 1320: YES), the printing device or system generates feedback so that the user can correct the application, and if no deviation from the intended path is detected (block 1320: NO), the printing device or system continues to monitor the application to detect deviations at step 1315. Block 1320 can be considered as a subset of step 1315 and corresponds to a logical determination of the occurrence of the deviation.
