Description

Title of the invention: Mechanical construction profile system comprising at least one local fixing element 1. Field of the invention

[0001] The field of the invention is that of mechanical construction profiles used in various fields to work in the manufacture of objects.

[0002] The invention finds application in particular in the field of joinery in which mechanical construction profiles are commonly used to manufacture, for example, doors, windows with or without opening(s) 2. Prior art

[0003] Joinery elements, such as doors and windows, are conventionally manufactured using mechanical construction profiles which are assembled together to form the frames and, where appropriate, the openings.

[0004] For example, a door generally comprises a frame delimiting an opening and at least one opening secured to the frame in a movable manner to close or release this opening.

[0005] The frame generally comprises a top crosspiece and a bottom crosspiece as well as two side uprights. The crosspieces and the side uprights each comprise a mechanical construction profile, the mechanical construction profiles being assembled to each other to form the frame.

[0006] According to the same principle, an opening may comprise a top crosspiece and a bottom crosspiece, as well as two side uprights. The crosspieces and the side uprights each comprise a mechanical construction profile, the mechanical construction profiles being assembled to each other to form a frame. This frame may be filled, for example, by one or more glass and / or metal or plastic panels...

[0007] These profiles are generally manufactured by extrusion in metal or plastic. To allow the profiles to be assembled together or accessories to be attached to the profiles, the profiles are provided with screw fixing means.

[0008] These screw fixing means comprise anchoring points formed in the mass of the profile. As shown in [Fig.l], which illustrates a cross-section of a profile 10, these anchoring points 11, or alveovis, generally have an open annular section and extend longitudinally along the entire length of the profile. These anchoring points define an internal housing 12 whose geometry is designed to receive a screw. In the carpentry trade, this type of anchoring point is called alveovis.

[0009] Given that the profiles and the alveovis are made by extrusion, the alveovis extend along the entire length of the profiles.

[0010] However, the alveovis are only used occasionally to make screw assemblies and not over their entire length.

[0011] As the alveovis are made from a solid material, their manufacture involves the consumption of the raw material from which the profile is made. However, as these alveovis are only used occasionally, their production along the entire length of the profile involves a consumption of raw material which is not necessary but only imposed by the manufacturing process by extrusion of the profile.

[0012] Thus, the technique of assembling profiles by screwing and alveovis induces an overconsumption of raw materials. This overconsumption of materials also has a negative impact on the carbon footprint of the manufacture of joinery elements.

[0013] There is therefore a need to improve the assembly techniques for mechanical construction profiles, particularly those used for the manufacture of joinery elements. 3. Objectives of the invention

[0014] The invention aims in particular to provide an effective solution to at least some of these different problems.

[0015] In particular, according to at least one embodiment, an objective of the invention is to provide a technique for assembling mechanical construction profiles which is more ecological.

[0016] In particular, the invention aims, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a technique which contributes to reducing the quantity of material used in the manufacture of mechanical construction profiles.

[0017] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a technique which contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the construction of elements manufactured from mechanical construction profiles, such as for example joinery elements.

[0018] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a technique which is versatile, in particular in that it makes it possible to offer great freedom in the installation of assembly points of profiles between them and / or accessories.

[0019] Another objective of the invention is, according to at least one embodiment, to provide such a technique which is simple and / or robust and / or inexpensive. 4. Presentation of the invention

[0020] For this, the invention proposes a mechanical construction profile system comprising at least: - a profile extending along a longitudinal axis, said profile comprising at least one rail extending along said longitudinal axis; - a local fixing element forming at least in part at least one fixing housing capable of housing a screw, said at least one fixing element being capable of cooperating with said at least one rail to be secured punctually to said at least one profile.

[0021] Thus, the invention no longer consists of implementing alveovis along the entire length of the profile as in the prior art, but of providing the profile with one or more longitudinal rails allowing the punctually fixing of one or more local fixing elements allowing assembly by screwing profiles together and / or accessories.

[0022] The invention thus contributes to reducing the consumption of material from which the profile is made insofar as the housing for receiving a screw is no longer made along the entire length of the profile. It is only the rail which is made along the entire length of the profile, which rail does not define in itself, at least entirely, the housing for receiving a screw, this housing being at least partly made in the local fixing element.

[0023] This reduction in raw material consumption leads to a knock-on reduction in carbon impact.

[0024] According to a preferred characteristic, said at least one local fixing element comprises a body, said body alone delimiting the contours of said at least one fixing housing.

[0025] In this case, the fixing housing capable of receiving a screw is formed independently of the profile.

[0026] According to another preferred characteristic, said at least one local fixing element comprises a body, said body delimiting, with said profile, the contours of said at least one fixing housing.

[0027] In this case, the fixing housing capable of receiving a screw is formed by assembling the fixing element to the profile.

[0028] According to another preferred characteristic, said body of said at least one local fixing element comprises at least one securing portion of a shape complementary to that of said at least one rail, and capable of cooperating with said at least one rail.

[0029] This makes it possible to assemble a local fixing element to a profile in a simple, economical but reliable manner by means of a rail-slider type system.

[0030] According to another preferred characteristic, said rail comprises at least one central core, said body of said at least one local fixing element delimiting with said at least one core said at least one fixing housing.

[0031] This provides good robustness and ensures good positioning of the local fixing element in the profile rail.

[0032] According to another preferred characteristic, said at least one fixing housing has an essentially circular section, said body comprising at least a first portion of said at least one fixing housing and said at least one core comprising at least a second portion of said at least one fixing housing, said at least one first and second portions each having a center of geometry coincident with the axis of said at least one rail.

[0033] In this case, the portions of the core fixing housing on the one hand and of the local fixing element on the other hand are concentric.

[0034] According to a preferred characteristic, a system according to the invention comprises means for holding said at least one local fixing element in position in said at least one rail.

[0035] This makes it possible to maintain the position of the local fixing element on the profile and thus to optimize the assembly of profiles with each other and / or accessories. This can in particular make it easier for an operator to assemble them since, once the local fixing elements are in place, he no longer has to worry about their positioning because they are held there.

[0036] In this case, the coefficient of friction between said at least one rail and said at least one fixing element is preferably chosen in such a way that said holding means ensure that said at least one local fixing element is held in position in said at least one rail by friction.

[0037] Playing on the coefficient of friction between the rail and the fixing element to maintain the local fixing element in position relative to the profile is a simple, economical but nevertheless effective means of ensuring this function.

[0038] According to a preferred characteristic, said means for holding said at least one local fixing element in position in said at least one rail comprise notching elements provided on said at least one rail and / or said at least one fixing element to ensure said holding.

[0039] Such notches make it possible to simply and effectively fulfill the function of the position holding means.

[0040] According to a preferred characteristic, said means for holding said at least one local fixing element in position in said at least one rail comprise adhesive elements provided on said at least one rail and / or said at least one fixing element to ensure said holding.

[0041] Such adhesive elements make it possible to simply and effectively fulfill the function of the position holding means.

[0042] According to a preferred characteristic, said means for holding said at least one local fixing element in position in said at least one rail are configured so that a screw screwed inside said at least one fixing housing acts by crushing of material on said at least one local fixing element and on said at least one rail to block in translation said at least one fixing element relative to said at least one rail along the longitudinal axis of the latter.

[0043] This makes it possible to provide good robustness and to ensure good holding in position of the local fixing element in the rail of the profile by means of a screw screwed into the fixing housing, the threads of the screw engaging both with the web of the rail of the profile and with the local fixing element.

[0044] According to a preferred characteristic, said at least one fixing housing has an essentially circular section, said body comprising at least a first portion of said at least one fixing housing and said at least one core comprising at least a second portion of said at least one fixing housing, said at least one first and second portions each having a center of geometry, the centers of geometry of said at least one first and second portions of said at least one fixing housing extending respectively along two axes distant from each other and parallel to the longitudinal axis of said at least one rail, said screw screwed into said at least one housing acting on said at least one rail and said at least one local fixing element to move said at least one fixing element relative to said at least one rail and thus lock it in position by pressing said at least one fixing element against said at least one rail..

[0045] In this case, the housing portions of said core on the one hand and of said local fixing element on the other hand are concentric.

[0046] This embodiment makes it possible to ensure that a local fixing element is held in position on the one hand by the action of cooperation between the thread of a screw and the rail and with the body of the local fixing element, and on the other hand by applying pressure to the local fixing element against the profile. This reinforces in a simple and effective manner the holding in position of a local fixing element relative to the profile.

[0047] According to a preferred characteristic, said at least one local fixing element comprises a body, said body comprising two half-bodies joined to form said body.

[0048] This implementation makes it possible to ensure the function of a prior art alveovis in a size substantially as compact as according to the prior art. This also makes it possible to facilitate the manufacture of a local fixing element which can in particular be obtained by a molding process.

[0049] According to a preferred characteristic, said at least one rail comprises a female portion complementary to a male portion of said at least one local fixing element, or vice versa.

[0050] According to a preferred characteristic, said local fixing element comprises a stamped sheet metal body.

[0051] Stamping makes it possible to manufacture local fixing elements economically, particularly compared to the use of extrusion techniques (particularly micro-extrusion of aluminium alloy parts), pultrusion, profiling, rolling, folding, injection, electroerosion or machining.

[0052] According to a possible characteristic, said body comprises at least two securing elements capable of cooperating respectively with a rail of said profile.

[0053] According to a preferred characteristic, said at least two securing elements are provided on at least two opposite edges of said body.

[0054] In this case, said at least one fixing housing is preferably formed by wings cut out and deployed alternately on either side of a median plane passing through said at least two opposite edges.

[0055] As explained in more detail in the description, such an implementation makes it possible to shift the local fixing elements towards the center of the cavity of a profile and, where appropriate, to improve the sealing at the junction between an interface part, a profile and a door threshold.

[0056] The invention also relates to a local fixing element for a system according to any one of the variants set out above.

[0057] The invention also relates to a joinery element comprising at least one profile system according to any one of the variants set out above.

[0058] A joinery element according to the invention preferably belongs to the group comprising: - doors; - windows with or without opening(s); - the portals; - fences: - roller shutters; - blinds; - pergolas; - the verandas. 5. Description of figures

[0072] 6. Description of particular embodiments

[0073] Various examples of embodiments of a mechanical construction profile system according to the invention are presented in relation to Figures 2 to 21.

[0074] Generally speaking, a mechanical construction profile system according to the invention comprises at least: - a profile 20; - a local fixing element 21 forming a fixing housing 22 capable of housing a screw.

[0075] The profile 20 extends along a longitudinal axis. It is preferably made by extrusion or pultrusion. Alternatively, it could be made by profiling, rolling, folding, injection, electroerosion, machining. It is also preferably made of metallic material, in particular aluminum alloy or steel, or of thermoplastic material such as for example PVC, polyamide, ABS or thermosetting material such as for example glass-polyester or carbon-epoxy composite.

[0076] The profile 20 comprises at least one rail 23. This rail 23 extends along the longitudinal axis and along the entire length of the profile 20. It is made from the mass of the profile so that it forms only a single piece with it.

[0077] The local fixing element 21 is capable of cooperating with the rail 23 to be secured at specific points to the profile 20. One or more local fixing elements 21 may be secured to the profile 20 at the required location or locations as needed. They may be made of plastic, in particular polyamide or other, or metal, in particular aluminum alloy, steel or other. They may, for example, be manufactured by extrusion, profiling ("roll forming" in English) or injection or casting or machining or sheet metal or stamping.

[0078] In the embodiment illustrated in [Fig.2], the local fixing element 21 comprises a body 24. This body 24 alone delimits the contours of the fixing housing 22. In this embodiment, the housing 22 has a closed peripheral contour. It could alternatively have a longitudinal slot. The body 24 comprises a male securing portion 25 to the rail 23 having a shape complementary to the female internal shape of the rail 23 and capable of being housed inside the latter. Together they form a dovetail type assembly.

[0079] In variants, such as for example those illustrated in figures 3 and 6, the rail 23 could have a male portion 230 and the local fixing element 21 could have a female securing portion 250 capable of cooperating with the male portion 230 of the rail 23.

[0080] The system comprises means for holding at least one local fixing element 21 in position in the rail 23 of the profile 20.

[0081] In this embodiment, these position holding means comprise adhesive elements provided on the rail 23 and / or the fixing element 21 to ensure that the fixing element 21 is held in position in the rail 23, i.e. to prevent it from sliding unintentionally in the rail. These adhesive elements comprise, for example, beads of hot-melt glue 26 secured to the fixing element 21. In this case, after the local fixing element(s) 21 are placed in the desired locations in the rail 23 of the profile 20, the local fixing element(s) are heated to activate the glue, which immobilizes the fixing element 21 by gluing.

[0082] [Fig.4] illustrates another embodiment in which the body 24 of the local fixing element 21 alone delimits the contours of the fixing housing 22. Unlike the previous embodiment, the peripheral contour of the fixing housing 22 is not closed but has a slot 27 at the level of its portion 25 for securing it to the rail 23.

[0083] According to another approach, the body 24 of the local fixing element 21 delimits, with the profile 20, and not alone as in the previous embodiment, the contours of the fixing housing 22. This is illustrated in particular in figures 5, 6, 7 and 8.

[0084] In these embodiments, the rail 23 comprises a central core 28. The body 24 of the local fixing element 21 delimits with the core 28 the fixing housing 22. The core 28 passes through the slot 27 of the local fixing element 21.

[0085] A mechanical construction profile system according to the invention preferably comprises means for holding the at least one local fixing element 21 in position in the rail 23.

[0086] In the embodiments of Figures 5 and 6, the fixing housing 22 has an essentially circular section. The body 24 comprises a first portion 221 of the fixing housing 22 and the core 28 comprising a second portion 222 of the fixing housing 22, the first and second portions each having a center of geometry along coincident axes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rail 23. The centers of geometry of the first and second portions of the fixing housing are coincident in the longitudinal median plane of the rail; ie the first and second portions are concentric.

[0087] Thus, the local fixing element 21 and the rail 23 are configured so that a screw screwed inside the fixing housing 22 acts by crushing material on the local fixing element 21 and on the rail 23 to block the fixing element 21 in translation relative to the rail 23 along the longitudinal axis of the latter. In this way, the insertion of the screw into the fixing housing 22 and its engagement in the material of the first 221 and second 222 portions of the fixing housing will coordinate the tapping of the peripheral contour of the fixing housing 22 to hold the fixing element 21 and the rail 23 opposite each other and contribute to the tear-off resistance of the assembly. This configuration therefore constitutes a means of holding the at least one local fixing element 21 in position in the rail 23.

[0088] The position holding means may comprise adhesive elements such as those described in relation to the first embodiment, and which could be implemented in any embodiment.

[0089] The means for holding in position may consist of choosing the coefficient of friction between the rail 23 and the fixing element 21 so as to ensure that the at least one local fixing element 21 is held in position in the rail 23 by friction. More precisely, the geometric adjustment between the rail 23 and the local fixing element 21 will be determined to achieve a more or less forceful hold by mounting by hand, with a mallet, or with a press.

[0090] The means for holding the at least one local fixing element 21 in position in the rail 23 may comprise notching elements provided on the rail 23 and / or the fixing element 21 to ensure holding in position.

[0091] In the embodiment of figures 7 and 8, the means for holding the at least one local fixing element 21 in position in the rail 23 are configured so that the screwing of a screw inside the fixing housing 22 acts on the local fixing element 21 to move it in the rail 23 and press it against walls of the rail. 23, and thus lock it in position. The fixing element 21 is therefore mounted to move in translation along an axis transverse to the rail 23 (see arrow in [Fig.8]).

[0092] In this case, the fixing housing 21 has an essentially circular section. The body 24 comprises a first portion 221 of the fixing housing 22 and the core 28 comprises a second portion 222 of the fixing housing 22. The first and second portions each have a center of geometry along axes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rail and distant. The centers of geometry of the first and second portions of the fixing housing are distant from each other by a distance d (see [Fig.7]) in the longitudinal median plane of the rail, i.e. the first and second portions are not concentric.

[0093] In this way, when a screw is screwed into the fixing housing 22, the fixing element 21 moves in translation in the rail 23 along an axis transverse to the rail so that walls of its securing portion 25 are pressed against opposing internal walls of the rail 23. This variant also ensures good grip of the screw on the two geometries and thus prevents one from sliding relative to the other.

[0094] In this configuration, the insertion of the screw into the fixing housing 22 and its engagement in the material of the first 221 and second 222 portions of the fixing housing will coordinate by crushing the material the tapping of the peripheral contour of the fixing housing 22 to participate in holding the fixing element 21 and the rail 23 opposite each other and contribute to the tear-off resistance of the assembly.

[0095] In variants of the different embodiments, the rail could have a male portion and the local fixing element 21 could have a female fixing portion capable of cooperating with the male portion of the rail or vice versa.

[0096] In this respect, Figures 9, 10 and 11 illustrate a variant of the embodiments of Figures 7 and 8 in which the core 28 of the rail constitutes a male element capable of cooperating with a female securing portion 250 of the local fixing element 21.

[0097] Figures 12 and 13 illustrate a variant according to which the local fixing element 21 is not a single piece. On the contrary, its body 24 comprises two half bodies 241.

[0098] In the illustrated variant, the rail 23 comprises a female portion capable of receiving a male portion of the securing portion 25 of the local fixing element 21. Alternatively, the male portion could be located on the rail 23 and the female portion on the local fixing element 21.

[0099] The dimensions of the two half-bodies 241 are chosen in such a way that when the two half-bodies 241 cooperate with the rail 23, they together form the fixing housing 22. Each half-body 241 comprises a half securing portion 251 which together form the securing portion 25.

[0100] This embodiment has the advantage of allowing the installation of local fixing elements in a more compact manner than the previous ones.

[0101] Figures 14 to 18 illustrate another embodiment in which the local fixing element 21 is in one piece and made of stamped sheet metal.

[0102] The local fixing element 21 is made from a sheet metal which, after stamping, comprises: - two opposite edges constituting securing elements 25 capable of cooperating respectively with a rail 23 of the profile 20; - a fixing housing 22 formed by wings 223 cut out and deployed alternately on either side of a median plane passing through the two opposite edges.

[0103] Alternatively, this local fixing element with two opposite edges constituting securing elements 25 could be obtained other than by stamping. It could for example be obtained by injection, by molding or any other suitable manufacturing technique.

[0104] Alternatively also, the fixing housing 22, rather than being laterally delimited by wings 223 cut out and deployed alternately on either side of a median plane passing through the two opposite edges, could be laterally delimited by uninterrupted surfaces.

[0105] In the embodiment below, the profile comprises female rails capable of receiving the male fastening elements. Alternatively, the rails could be male and the fastening elements female.

[0106] This embodiment can in particular allow: - to offset a local fixing element 21 from the edge of a profile 20; - to improve the sealing at the junction between an interface part, a profile 20 and a door threshold.

[0107] The implementation of the technology for obtaining by extrusion a profile of the prior art such as that illustrated in [Fig. 1], requires the anchoring points 11 (alveovis) to be arranged in contact with the partitions 100 of the profile because the extrusion requires maintaining continuity of the material during extrusion. Thus, if one wishes to arrange an alveovis 11 more in the “center” of the cavity 101 of a profile 10 by shifting it downwards in [Fig. 1], it is necessary to add internal partitions (not shown), such as the partition 100, more in the center of the cavity 101. This is however expensive in raw material. In addition, this is not always feasible, depending on the dimension of the profile. In fact, small cavities are not feasible because their creation would require the use of tools whose strength would not be sufficient to withstand the forces resulting from the thrust of the material during extrusion.

[0108] This embodiment of figures 14 to 18 has the advantage of being free from this constraint, because the position of the assembly points (i.e. of the rails 23) of the local fixing element 21 is determined by the geometry of the stamped local fixing element 21 and not by constraints inherent in the extrusion technology. Indeed, the rails 23 allowing the securing of the stamped local fixing element 21 can be made anywhere in the cavity of the profile without constraint. This embodiment therefore has the advantage of offering great freedom in the installation of the rails 23 for assembling the local fixing elements 21 and thus offering the possibility of adapting as best as possible to the need to fix various profiles or accessories together.

[0109] Furthermore, the offset towards the center of the cavity of the profile of the local fixing element can make it possible to improve the seal at a junction piece 32 which can be interposed between a first profile 30 ensuring the role of a door sill bar and a second profile 31 (see [Fig. 19]). Such an assembly principle is described in particular in the patent document FR3055650. In such a configuration, the fact of offsetting the position of the local fixing elements 21 towards the center of the cavity of the profile makes it possible to reduce the center distance between two opposite local fixing elements and thus to move them away from the corresponding edges of the profile. As a result, the holes for the assembly screws provided through the junction piece 32 are further away from its edges. This makes it possible to provide more space for a sealing gasket around these holes and consequently to improve the seal.

[0110] In the embodiment which has just been described, the two opposite edges of the body each define a securing element capable of cooperating with a rail of the profile. In variants, more than two securing elements may be provided on the body. The securing elements, whatever their number, may not be provided on two opposite edges of the body. They may, for example, be arranged in an essentially uniform manner around the separating element to form a star. Such an implementation contributes to stabilizing the securing element relative to the profile, which makes it possible to improve the robustness of the assembly.

[0111] The different embodiments can be combined.

[0112] A mechanical construction profile system according to the invention can for example be implemented for the manufacture of joinery elements, such as for example: - doors (entrance, window, balcony, service, interior, communication, tertiary, industrial, etc.), - gates (garage, fence, etc.), - windows with or without openings (casement, sliding, roof windows, etc.); - fences: - roller shutters; - blinds; - pergolas; - the verandas.

[0113] Figures 22, 23 and 24 illustrate the securing of a threshold 30 (or lower crosspiece) of a door frame to a lateral upright 31 (or profile) by means of a profile system according to the prior art comprising alveovis.

[0114] In this case, each end of the threshold 30 is secured to the lateral upright 31 by means of three screws 32 which are screwed into the sockets 33, or screw shafts, provided along the entire length of the upright 31.

[0115] Figures 19, 20 and 21 illustrate the securing of a threshold 30 (or lower crosspiece) of a door frame to a side upright 31 by means of a profile system according to the invention.

[0116] In this case, each end of the threshold 30 is secured to the lateral upright 31 by means of three screws 32 which are screwed into the fixing housings 22 of the local fixing elements 21. Prior to screwing, the three local fixing elements 21 are placed on the lateral uprights 31 locally at the required locations. For this, the securing portion 25 of the fixing elements 21 is introduced into the rail 23 of the uprights 31 each consisting of a profile 20. Each local fixing element 21 is then slid into the rail 23 to the required location. They are held in position there by the holding means (friction, gluing, notching, etc.). Depending on the embodiment implemented, screwing a screw 32 into the fixing housing 22 of a fixing element 21 can make it possible to cause it to be pressed against the walls of the rail 23 and thus contribute to keeping it in position in the rail 23.

[0117] Various variants of the embodiments described above are conceivable.

[0118] A local fixing element could, for example, comprise several fixing housings and thus allow the installation of several screws.

[0119] A profile could also comprise several rails each provided with one or more webs.

[0120] Several local fixing elements can be secured to the same rail.
