Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: VEHICLE COMPRISING SEALING MEANS FOR A CANVAS SUNROOF
[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle which comprises a roof in which a roof opening is formed and a sunroof fixed on the roof, said sunroof comprising a frame which borders the circumference of the roof opening and a fabric which covers the upper edge of the frame and which extends above the roof opening with a removable portion for selectively opening access to the roof opening or closing said roof opening.
[0002] It is known from document US7264307 to have a vehicle with a canvas sunroof, the frame of the sunroof being provided with sealing means with the roof and the canvas being provided with sealing means with the frame, these two sealing means make such an assembly very expensive and complex to implement on the vehicle.
[0003] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome these drawbacks.
[0004] It comprises in fact, according to the invention, a vehicle which comprises a roof in which a roof opening is formed and a sunroof fixed on the roof, said sunroof comprising a frame which borders the circumference of the roof opening and a canvas which covers the upper part of the frame and which extends above the roof opening with a removable part for, selectively, opening access to the roof opening or closing said roof opening, said canvas being extended laterally below the frame and comprises sealing means which are positioned between the part of the canvas which is positioned below the frame and the roof.
[0005] According to a first characteristic of the invention, the sealing means comprise a rectangular profile seal which runs along the entire frame, such a seal generally being an EPDM seal (for Ethylene Propylene Diene-Monomer) which is glued by an adhesive to the roof and which has a section of 8 mm by 3 mm once the sunroof is fixed to the roof, with the compressed seal.
[0006] According to a second characteristic of the invention, the roof comprises an external stamping which frames the seal of the sealing means from the outside and an internal stamping which frames the seal of the sealing means from the inside.
[0007] According to a third characteristic of the invention, the outer stamping of the roof has a low stamping height, guiding the installation of the seal on the roof before the sunroof is fixed. A low stamping height corresponds to a height of the outer stamping which is less than the height of the spacing which is present between the roof and the underside of the frame.
[0008] According to a fourth characteristic of the invention, the inner stamping of the roof has a stamping height which corresponds to the height of the spacing which is present between the roof and the underside of the frame.
[0009] According to a fifth characteristic of the invention, openings formed in the roof allow the sunroof to be screwed onto the roof.
[0010] According to a sixth characteristic of the invention, the canvas comprises in its central part a zipper intended to be handled from the passenger compartment of the vehicle which makes it possible to open or close a part of the canvas to close or open the opening of the roof, the central part of the canvas being able to be rolled up on itself and attached behind the sunroof to be able to roll in the open position of the sunroof.
[0011] The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:
[0012] [Fig-1] represents a vehicle which has a roof on which is secured a sunroof according to the invention.
[0013] [Fig.2] represents a sectional view of a part of the roof and the sunroof according to the invention.
[0014] [Fig.3] shows a view of the roof before the sunroof is positioned. according to the invention.
[0015] [Fig.l] shows a vehicle which has a roof 1 in which a roof opening 11 is formed and a sunroof 2 fixed to the roof 1.
[0016] The sunroof 2 comprises a frame 3 which borders the perimeter of the roof opening 11 and a canvas 4 which covers the upper part of the frame 3 and which extends above the roof opening 11 with a removable part of the canvas 4 which makes it possible to selectively open access to the roof opening 11 or close the roof opening 11.
[0017] As more particularly visible in [Fig.2], the canvas 4 is extended laterally under the frame 3, with sealing means 5 which are positioned between the part of the canvas 4 which is positioned under the frame 3 and the roof 1.
[0018] The sealing means 5 comprise a rectangular profile seal 51 which runs along the entire frame 3.
[0019] The pavilion 1 comprises an external stamping 12 which frames the seal 51 of the sealing means 5 from the outside and an internal stamping 13 which frames the seal 51 of the sealing means 5 from the inside.
[0020] The outer stamping 12 of the roof 1 has a low stamping height, guiding the installation by gluing of the seal 51 on the roof 1 before the sunroof 2 is fixed and masking the seal 51 which would be visible through the space which is present between the roof 1 and the lower outer edge of the frame 3 without the outer stamping 12.
[0021] The inner stamping 13 of the roof 1 has a stamping height which corresponds to the spacing which is present between the roof 1 and the underside of the frame 3, making the inner stamping 13 form a bearing surface for the frame 3 to define the positioning height and block the free end of the canvas 4 of the sunroof 2.
[0022] As more particularly visible in [Fig.3], the outer stamping 12 and the inner stamping 13 run around the roof opening 11, on either side of the seal 51.
[0023] Openings 14 formed in the roof 1 allow the sunroof 2 to be screwed onto the roof 1.
[0024] The seal 51 is an EPDM seal (for Ethylene Propylene Diene-Monomer) which is glued by an adhesive to the roof and which has a section of 8 mm by 3 mm once the sunroof 2 is fixed to the roof 1 and the seal 51 is compressed.
[0025] A zipper intended to be operated from the passenger compartment of the vehicle makes it possible to open or close a part of the canvas 4 to close or open the opening of the roof 11.
[0026] The central part of the canvas 4 is rolled up on itself and attached behind the sunroof 2 so that it can roll in the open position of the sunroof 2.
