AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Classic stirrup leathers cause discomfort for riders due to the accumulation of layers under the leg, limiting adjustment possibilities and leading to painful pressure on the shin.

Method used

A single-strand riding stirrup leather with a system for holding a stirrup and adjustable height, featuring multiple loops at the upper end for threading into a stirrup leather knife, and flexible seams to minimize thickness under the thigh.

Benefits of technology

The single-strand design reduces thickness under the leg, allowing for more comfortable riding and increased adjustment capacity without causing painful pressure on the rider's shin.

Abstract

The invention relates to a single-strand riding stirrup leather (1) with a stirrup retaining system (2) at its lower end and successive loops (4) at its upper end for adjusting the length. These loops fold back on themselves under the stirrup knife (5), avoiding any discomfort to the rider. Unlike conventional stirrup leathers, this design offers a wide range of adjustment while maintaining precision of fit. Figure for abstract: Fig. 1

Description

Title of the invention: single-strand riding stirrup leather

[0001] The invention relates to a riding stirrup leather comprising a single strand, equipped at its lower end with a system for holding a stirrup, provided or not with a device for adjusting the height of the stirrup, and comprising at its upper end several successive loops capable of being threaded into a stirrup leather knife under the flap of the saddle, and making it possible to adjust the length of the stirrup leather. The latter also comprise flexible seams so that the unused loops fold back on themselves, under the stirrup leather knife of the saddle. Technical field of the invention

[0002] A classic device, called a stirrup leather, is a strap attached to the side of the saddle and from which a stirrup is suspended. The classic stirrup leather device is usually composed of a long leather strap, lined or not with a nylon reinforcement. It has two ends: the first is equipped with an adjustment buckle while the second is perforated with several holes allowing the length of the stirrup leather to be adjusted. The stirrup leather is passed through the eye of the stirrup and into the stirrup knife, itself attached to the saddle. The stirrup leather, closed on itself, then forms a loop. The adjustment length therefore corresponds to half the length separating the first hole from the last. The loop formed by the stirrup leather between the stirrup knife and the stirrup creates a double thickness along its entire length. The two ends involved in adjusting the length of the stirrup leather are located under the rider's leg, at the stirrup knife. The end with the holes passes through the loop and creates a third layer. Thus, under the rider's leg, at the stirrup knife, there is a combination of a loop and three layers of girth. This accumulation is the cause of discomfort for the rider. Technical background

[0003] Single-strand stirrup leathers already exist on the market. The adjustment buckle is then placed at the bottom of the stirrup leather, which prevents the buckle from being too thick under the thigh and therefore reduces the thickness under the leg. However, in order not to bother the rider, the buckle must be placed as close as possible to the stirrup so as not to come into contact with the shin. The distance between the buckle and the stirrup determines the length adjustment capacity of the stirrup leather (difference between the length of the stirrup leather set to the longest and the length of the stirrup leather set to the shortest). The adjustment possibilities are then very limited. Indeed, if the buckle is located far from the stirrup, it applies pressure painful on the rider's shin. The maximum acceptable distance between the stirrup and the buckle is about fifteen centimeters. This means a maximum adjustment capacity of less than 10 cm (a consequence of the buckle formed by the stirrup leather). This type of single-strand stirrup leather is attached to the stirrup knife of the saddle via a nylon loop, avoiding the excess thickness that the classic stirrup leather creates under the thigh. Brief description of the figures

[0004] [Fig.l] represents the use of the invention on a riding saddle. In this non-limiting schematic representation, the loops at the upper end of the stirrup leather will be represented as 3 in number. In this non-limiting schematic representation, the loops at the upper end of the stirrup leather will be represented as 4 in number.

Claims

Claims

1. Single-strand riding stirrup leather, comprising: - a single strand (1) having a lower end equipped with a holding system (2) of a stirrup (3), - an upper end provided with several successive loops (4), these loops being configured to fit into a stirrup leather knife (5) under the saddle flap, - flexible seams (6) allowing the unused loops to fold back on themselves under the stirrup leather knife, characterized in that the successive loops (4) allow the length of the stirrup leather to be modulated and the excess unused loops fold back to avoid any discomfort to the rider.
