A cable safety barrier has means for disengagement of the cable from an anchor portion of the cable safety barrier when certain vehicle impact conditions are met. Disengaging of the cable may involve allowing a cable end fitting to escape from an open ended slot, when the cable is deflected upwards, or causing the cable fitting to fail.

A stiffening member, as well as a diaphragm of a building in which the stiffening member is used, is disclosed. The diaphragm includes a horizontal wide-flange beam, a corrugated deck, and a corrugated stiffening member. The stiffening member is an elongate, corrugated strip. The stiffening member's corrugations are formed by a series of U-shaped portions that alternate with, and are integrally connected to, a series of horizontal upper portions. Each U-shaped portion consists of three planar portions: two substantially vertical side portions and one horizontal floor portion. Each U-shaped portion is reinforced with two parallel raised ribs. In a second embodiment of the stiffening member, the U-shaped portion is reinforced with two parallel tab portions attached at the sides of the stiffening member. The stiffening member nestingly overlies the corrugated deck, and is attached to the deck and to the underlying horizontal beam with either welds or pins.

A method for manufacturing the surgical device for removing a foreign object from a body and a retrieval basket of the device are described. The retrieval basket is adapted for entrapping and retaining the object located in the body. The basket comprises a structure having a proximal end and a distal end. The structure is formed by a plurality of filaments fabricated from a single or several wires. The filaments extend from the proximal end towards the distal end, and are bound together to define a plurality of strands. The strands ramify at corresponding branching points into loops having various shapes and sizes. At least a part of the loops are overlapped and/or interlaced so as to define a net, and thereby impart structural rigidity and dilatation ability to the basket when opened. The method of manufacturing the retrieval basket includes selecting at least one wire; weaving the basket from the wire by overlapping and/or interlacing the filaments so that to form a net at least in the vicinity of the distal end; and binding the filaments for forming a shape of the retrieval basket.

A fenced assembled from a plurality of pickets and at least one insert and at least one rail. The insert is laid across the pickets which are preferably arranged in spaced-parallel fashion. A piercing tool pierces through the insert and an associated picket, causing at least one tab of the insert, formed by the piercing action, to extend into the picket. Precision-folded, high strength, fatigue-resistant structures and a sheet therefore are disclosed. To form the structures, methods for precision bending of a sheet of material along a bend line and a sheet of material formed with bending strap-defining structures, such as slits or grooves, are disclosed. Methods include steps of designing and then separately forming longitudinally extending slits or grooves through the sheet of material in axially spaced relation to produce precise bending of the sheet when bent along the bend line. The bending straps have a configuration and orientation which increases their strength and fatigue resistance, and most preferably slits or arcs are used which causes edges to be engaged and supported on faces of the sheet material on opposite sides of the slits or arcs. The edge-to-face contact produces bending along a virtual fulcrum position in superimposed relation to the bend line. Several slit embodiments suitable for producing edge-to-face engagement support and precise bending are disclosed. With these teachings, forming numerous three-dimensional load-bearing structures from a two dimensional sheet are enabled. Examples of straight and curved beams, chassis, and exoskeletons are disclosed.

A geogrid using fiber-reinforced polymeric strips and its producing method are disclosed. The geogrid of a lattice shape includes plural longitudinal fiber-reinforced polymeric strips longitudinally arranged in parallel at regular intervals and formed by reinforcing fiber in a thermoplastic polymer resin, and plural lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strip laterally arranged in parallel at regular intervals and formed by reinforcing fiber in a thermoplastic polymer resin. Each longitudinal fiber-reinforced polymer strip has at lease one first contact point crossed with the lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strip on the upper surface and at least one second contact point crossed with the lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strips on the lower surface. The contact points are fixed by welding the longitudinal and lateral fiber-reinforced polymer strips. The geogrid is excellent in installation capacity, frictional feature and shape stabilisation and shows high tensile strength and low tensile strain and low creep deformation.

A wire-reinforced webbing material is disclosed for use in furniture, bedding and the like. The webbing includes a flat knitted fabric comprised of substantially elastic yarns such as polyester. A plurality of reinforcement wires are integrally knitted into the fabric structure in a lengthwise direction. The wires may be thin-gauge titanium or titanium alloy wires. Elastomeric yarns or cards may also be integrally knitted into the fabric structure parallel to the reinforcement wires. The reinforcement wires and elastomeric cords combine with the knitted fabric to yield a webbing material having both a high tensile strength and a resilient responsiveness to applied external loads.

A railing system includes an upper core member having a cap connector. In a first embodiment, a railing system includes a cap member having a cap flange that detachably couples with the cap connector on the upper core member. The invention mainly discloses a method and device for producing spring bed core full-automatically; an automatic transmitter with simple and easy operation is used for connecting a spring coiling machine and a spring stringing machine integrally; under synchronous control, three machines coordinate the motion so as to realize full automatic production line from steel wire to bed core. The spring coiling machine equidistantly and horizontally outputs springs through a step conveying mechanism; the springs horizontally output adjust the turnover component of the automatic transmitter to be upright state and positioned into groups equidistantly by positioning components; the springs are pushed into the spring stringing machine from a conveying belt by means of the pushing component of the automatic transmitter to realize spring string. A full automatic production line is formed, and the steel wire as raw material is automatically made into the spring bed core, thereby greatly improving the production efficiency, shortening the production time in unit, reducing the labor intensity, and forming great economic benefit in enterprises; moreover, the obtained product has high quality and low defective rate, and the equipment failure rate is low.

A composite construction panel having a thin panel of concrete material and a reinforcing grid of sheet metal studs with embedment portions which are actually embedded into the concrete panel, each of the studs having a web, right angular flange formed on a free edge of the web, an angled edge strip formed along the free edge of the right angular flange, an embedment angled flange portion formed along the opposite edge of the web, an edge strip formed on the angled flange at an angle thereto; and, spaced apart angled flange openings formed in the angled flange for flow of concrete therethrough. An alternate form of stud has a triangular tube structure along one edge of the web. Another form of stud has a discontinuous webs defining spaces between them. In one embodiment two concrete panels may be secured to the studs in spaced relation to create a hollow structure.

This invention provides a fencing system (10) comprising a plurality of spaced apart parallel extending upright posts (12); a plurality of horizontally extending bearers (14); and a plurality of parallel extending uprights (16). A locking hook bolt, which may be used for securing cable to support posts in guardrail assemblies, and a method for using the same are provided. The locking hook bolt includes a first leg, a second leg, and an arcuate portion coupling the first and second legs such that the second leg extends generally parallel with, and spaced apart from, the first leg. The trough has an open top side and defines a channel for selectively receiving a bottom edge of the mobile home underpinning. A foot is attached to and extends outwardly from the front wall. A plurality of troughs is provided. A coupler assembly for selectively couples a pair of the troughs together.

A fence panel, a method of erecting the same, and a corresponding fence panel kit having a plurality of pickets and a plurality of multi-element rails. The rails include anchor strips that are pivotally pre-attached to the plurality of pickets, resulting in a subassembly that can be folded to an initial compact, folded configuration of the pickets and anchor strips. The subassembly can be unfolded, allowing elongate picket positioning strips to be mounted onto the pickets and the anchor strips. Locking strips are then mounted onto the anchor strips, securing the picket positioning strips in place and completing the assembly of the multi-element rail.
