Description

Title of the invention: ASSEMBLY OF A SANDWICH PANEL TO A STRUCTURE Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to a particular assembly which associates a sandwich panel with a structure, where the sandwich panel comprises a hooking means allowing the attachment of a tool in order to assist in the removal of the sandwich panel, as well as such a tool, and an aircraft comprising such an assembly. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART

[0002] An aircraft cabin typically comprises a structure with rails. Each rail typically comprises a rectilinear central part and one or two wings which are integral with the central part but at a lower height.

[0003] At least one sandwich panel is fixed to each wing and each sandwich panel is then flush with the central part in order to materialize the floor of the cabin.

[0004] Each sandwich panel comprises two outer layers, for example made of carbon fibers, and a core, for example a honeycomb structure.

[0005] Each sandwich panel is crossed by a series of holes and each receives a fixing screw which is screwed into a nut provided for this purpose and secured to the wing in question.

[0006] When a sandwich panel is to be removed, it is necessary to remove all the fixing screws that secure it to the structure. When the sandwich panel is detached from the structure, it can be removed. Conventionally, a gap is present between the central part of the structure and the side of the sandwich panel. A tool such as a screwdriver can then be placed in the gap to grip the sandwich panel and lift it.

[0007] Even if such an assembly is suitable, the use of a tool with sharp edges may damage the side of the sandwich panel and / or scratch the rail, and it is therefore necessary to find a different arrangement. Statement of the invention

[0008] An object of the present invention is to provide an assembly of a sandwich panel on a structure which is such that removal of the sandwich panel is facilitated.

[0009] For this purpose, an assembly is proposed comprising:

[0010] - a structure comprising a wing with a receiving face where said wing bears at minus one nut,

[0011] - a sandwich panel comprising a core and two external layers on either side on the other side of the core, where the sandwich panel rests against the receiving face, and

[0012] - for each nut, a fixing screw which screws into the nut by passing through the sandwich panel,

[0013] said assembly being characterized in that for at least one nut, the sandwich panel comprises a hooking means arranged between the two external layers, in that the hooking means is crossed by a bore coaxial with the nut and opening at the level of each external layer, in that the diameter of the bore is greater than the diameter of the threaded rod of the fixing screw, and in that the hooking means comprises inside the bore, fixing means intended to ensure removable fixing of a tool in said bore.

[0014] With such an arrangement, it is possible to handle the sandwich panel without risk of damaging it.

[0015] Advantageously, the fixing means take the form of a thread in the bore.

[0016] Advantageously, the attachment means comprises fins on its periphery.

[0017] The invention also proposes an aircraft comprising an assembly according to one of the preceding variants, where the sandwich panel forms a floor of said aircraft.

[0018] The invention also proposes a tool comprising complementary fixing means intended to ensure removable fixing to said fixing means.

[0019] Advantageously, the tool comprises a handle.

[0020] Advantageously, the tool comprises a shoe intended to come into contact with a support surface of the structure and a lever arm mounted articulated on the shoe, a first end of which is mounted articulated on the complementary fixing means and a second end of which extends beyond the support relative to the complementary fixing means. Brief description of the drawings

[0021] The above-mentioned features of the invention, as well as others, will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, said description being made in relation to the attached drawings, among which:

[0022] [Fig-1] is a sectional view of an assembly according to the invention,

[0023] [Fig.2] is a perspective view of a hooking means implemented in the assembly of [Fig.l], and

[0024] [Fig.3] is a side view of an assembly according to the invention with a suitable tool when lifting a sandwich panel.

[0025] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0026] [Fig.l] shows an assembly 100 according to the invention which is implemented for example in an aircraft.

[0027] The assembly 100 comprises a structure 102 which is for example a rigid structure of the aircraft and which has, among other things, rails, and each rail here comprises a central part 102a which is generally rectilinear and one or two wings 102b which are integral with the central part 102a but at a lower height to form a descending step between the central part 102a and each wing 102b.

[0028] In the remainder of the description, only one wing 102b is mentioned, but the description applies in the same way to each wing 102b.

[0029] The wing 102b has a receiving face 104a which is oriented upwards in [Fig.l] and the wing 102b carries at least one nut 106. In the embodiment of the invention shown in [Fig.l], the nut 106 is fixed for example by welding, under the wing 102b which then has a bore 103 which passes through the wing and is coaxial with the axis of the nut 106 to allow the passage of a fixing screw 114 as explained below. However, it is possible to envisage a different implementation, for example the nut 106 can be integrated directly into the wing 102b and the bore 103 then takes the form of a tapped hole.

[0030] The assembly 100 also comprises a sandwich panel 110 which comprises a core 110a, typically a honeycomb structure and two external layers 110b which are arranged on either side of the core 110a, i.e. here above and below, and which are rigidly connected to the core 110a, for example by gluing.

[0031] In the assembled position, the sandwich panel 110, and more particularly one of the external layers 110b, bears against the receiving face 104a of the wing 102b which thus carries the sandwich panel 110 which thus forms a floor of the aircraft. There are several nuts 106 distributed along the wing 102b to ensure the fixing of the sandwich panel 110 to the wing 102b.

[0032] For each nut 106, the assembly 100 comprises a fixing screw 114 with a head 114a and a threaded rod 114b, where the threaded rod 114b of the fixing screw 114 screws into the nut 106 by passing through the sandwich panel 110 and sandwiching the sandwich panel 110 between the wing 102b and the head 114a of the fixing screw 114 and where the threaded rod 114b here passes through the bore 103 to screw into the nut 106.

[0033] For at least one nut 106, the sandwich panel 110 comprises a hooking means 120 which is best seen in perspective in [Fig.2]. The hooking means 120 is arranged between the two outer layers 110b, i.e. in the core 110a. Typically, the hooking means 120 is put in place during the manufacture of the sandwich panel 110. The hooking means 120 is placed in the core 110a before the outer layers 110b are put in place and fixed, then, when the latter are put in place and fixed, the hooking means 120 is enclosed in the sandwich panel 110. As explained below, the hooking means 120 is thus firmly anchored in the sandwich panel 110 to allow the latter to be lifted if necessary.

[0034] The attachment means 120 has a body 121 which here takes the form of a ring which is crossed by a bore 120a coaxial with the nut 106 when the sandwich panel 110 is in the fixing position.

[0035] The bore 120a opens at each external layer 110b thanks to openings 105 that each external layer 110b has for this purpose. In the embodiment of the invention presented in [Fig.l], the attachment means 120 extends into the openings 105 and one of its ends here has a countersunk hole 107 to house the head 114a therein.

[0036] When the fixing screw 114 is put in place, its threaded rod 114b thus sinks into the bore 120a to reach the nut 106.

[0037] To avoid interactions between the fixing screw 114 and the bore 120a, the diameter of the bore 120a is greater than the diameter of the threaded rod 114b of the fixing screw 114.

[0038] The attachment means 120 also comprises, inside the bore 120a, fixing means 120b which are intended to ensure removable fixing of a tool in the bore 120a.

[0039] [Fig. 3] shows an example of a tool 300 used to lift the sandwich panel 110. The tool 300 has complementary fixing means 320b intended to ensure removable fixing to the fixing means 120b, that is to say that the fixing means 120b and the complementary fixing means 320b can be secured to each other and then detached without destroying either one or the other.

[0040] In the embodiment of the invention presented here, the fixing means 120b take the form of a thread in the bore 120a and the complementary fixing means 320b take the form of a threaded rod which is screwed into said thread in the bore 120a.

[0041] In another embodiment not shown, the fixing means 120b and 320b take the form of elements forming clips.

[0042] When the sandwich panel 110 is to be lifted, the fixing screw 114 is removed, then the tool 300 is brought closer and the complementary fixing means 320b are secured to the fixing means 120b. It is then possible to pull on the sandwich panel 110 by pulling on the tool 300 via the hooking means 120 which is anchored in the sandwich panel 110. It is therefore not necessary to use unsuitable tools to initiate the lifting of the sandwich panel 110 and there is therefore no risk of damaging the latter.

[0043] To reinforce the cohesion between the attachment means 120 and the external layers 110b and therefore the solidity when pulled on the sandwich panel, the attachment means 120 comprises on its periphery fins 120c which here extend radially around the axis of the bore 120a. The fins 120c thus sink more deeply between the outer layers 110b to increase the contact surface during pulling.

[0044] To assist in gripping the tool 300 and in pulling, the tool 300 comprises a handle 302 secured to the complementary fixing means 320b.

[0045] The tool 300 comprises a shoe 310 which is placed in abutment against a bearing surface 104b of the structure 102, here the bearing surface 104b is the upper surface of the central part 102a. The bearing surface 104b is a surface where the sandwich panel 110 is absent.

[0046] The tool 300 also comprises a lever arm 312 which is mounted articulated on the shoe 310, here generally in the middle of said lever arm 312. A first end of the lever arm 312 is mounted articulated on the complementary fixing means 320b and a second end of the lever arm 312 extends beyond the support 310 relative to the complementary fixing means 320b, that is to say that the lever arm 312 extends on either side of the shoe 310 and it is fixed on one side to the complementary fixing means 320b while the other end is free and can be lowered by a technician, for example by pressing with the foot, to lift the sandwich panel 110. Such an arrangement makes it possible to increase tenfold the pulling forces.
