Description
Title of the invention: Exterior door handle for a motor vehicle.
[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle door handle, in particular a door handle for equipping an exterior door of a motor vehicle.
[0002] More specifically, the present invention relates to a handle for controlling an electric lock on a vehicle door comprising an electrical control device for an electric lock from a locked state to an unlocked state which makes it possible to cause the opening to be unhooked.
[0003] A handle equipped with such an electrical control device for the electric lock is already known from the prior art, in particular from document EPI 162332B1.
[0004] Generally, the handle is defined by an internal lateral surface directed, in use, towards said door, and comprises a first and a second end connecting part to achieve a single-piece connection with the door, a gripping element extending between said connecting parts.
[0005] In particular, the electrical control device, which is normally mounted on the handle, is electrically connected to an actuator acting on the lock, and is manually switchable by a mechanical actuation means also mounted on the handle. For example, the actuation means is of the push-button type and is arranged in said inner side surface to electrically control the lock on said door.
[0006] However, integrating such an actuation means into the handle body is not easy and can lead to difficulties, particularly in terms of preserving the seal around the electrical control device.
[0007] Indeed, gaps may result at the interfaces where the different parts of the handle meet, particularly in the area where the push button is integrated, which in the long term poses a sealing problem.
[0008] The present invention aims to provide a vehicle door handle designed to solve the aforementioned sealing problem in a simple, robust and economical manner. Description of the invention
[0009] The invention relates in particular to a handle for a motor vehicle door, the handle comprising a body having first and second end connection parts with the exterior door and a gripping element extending between the two connection parts, the body defining a housing inside which is disposed a control module for activating an electric lock of the door and an actuation element for the control module, characterized in that the housing comprises a substantially transverse partition with an opening, separating a first compartment for housing the element and the control module from a second compartment for the passage of at least one electrical connector connected to the module, the handle comprising a support for the control module which is configured to extend on either side of the partition so as to position the control module in the first compartment by guiding the electrical connector into the second compartment.
[0010] The invention makes it possible to overcome the aforementioned sealing problem by proposing a partition configured so that the sealing is preserved while facilitating the assembly of all the parts (or components) of the handle.
[0011] Thanks to the invention, the housing can be easily sealed at the partition between the first compartment containing the control module and the second compartment containing the electrical connector that allows the module to be connected to the electrical system. This makes it possible to create a mounting chamber for the control module that is completely sealed from the external environment and thus protects the electronic components from moisture and dust.
[0012] A door handle according to the invention may further comprise one or more of the following features.
[0013] In a preferred embodiment, the actuating member forms a lever extending longitudinally inside the gripping element which is elastically movable through the handle body between an active actuating position of the control module and a rest position.
[0014] In a preferred embodiment, the handle body includes a generally oblong deformation area along the longitudinal direction of the lever, on which a user can press to elastically move the lever through the handle body. This area extends along one inner side of the handle. Because the actuating lever extends inside the handle and is actuated via a deformation surface that is itself fully integrated aesthetically into the handle and, moreover, oriented towards the vehicle opening in the configuration where the handle is mounted on the opening, the handles can be manufactured with any shape or design. The lock is actuated by a natural gripping motion on the handle.
[0015] In a preferred embodiment, the deformation zone is formed by a layer of flexible material, for example of thermoplastic elastomer material.

[0042] Figure 1 shows an opening 110 of a motor vehicle 100 equipped with the handle 10 according to the invention. Here, the opening 110 is an opening of the motor vehicle 100. However, other applications are conceivable. The opening 110 is shown here from outside the vehicle 100.

Handle (10) for a motor vehicle door (110), comprising: - a body (12) having a first (14) and a second (16) end connecting portion with the door (110), and a gripping element (18) extending between the first (14) and the second (16) connecting portion, this body (12) defining a housing (20), this housing (20) comprising a partition (72) separating a first compartment (76) from a second compartment (78); - a control module (30) for activating an electric lock of the door (110); - an electrical connector (36), this electrical connector (36) and the control module (30) being mounted on a support (90), the electrical connector (36) being connected to the control module (30);- an actuation member (40) mounted in the first compartment (76) of the housing (20), characterized in that the partition (72) has an opening (74) with a closed peripheral contour, that the support (90) includes a portion (94C) of cross-section complementary in shape to the opening (74) with a closed peripheral contour, and that this support (90) is configured so as to fit by complementary shape through said opening (74), to extend on either side of the partition (72), positioning the control module (30) relative to its control member (40) in the first compartment (76) and guiding the electrical connector (36) in the second compartment (78).
2. Handle (10) according to the preceding claim, wherein the actuating member (40) forms a lever extending longitudinally inside the gripping element (18) which is elastically movable through the handle body (12) (10) between an active actuation position of the control module (30) and a rest position.

Handle according to the preceding claim, wherein the handle body (12) (10) comprises a generally oblong deformation zone (60) along the longitudinal direction of the lever (40) which a user can press to elastically move the lever (40) through the body (12) of handle (10) which extends on an inner side of the handle (10).
4. Handle (10) according to the preceding claim, wherein the deformation zone (60) is formed by a layer of flexible material, for example of thermoplastic elastomer material.
5. Handle (10) according to the preceding claim, wherein the material of the soft material layer has a shore A between 30 and 70, preferably between 40 and 60, for example 50.
6. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the two connecting parts (14, 16) comprise a face in contact with the opening (110) bearing a layer of thermoplastic elastomer material to form an environmental seal between the handle (10) and the surface of the opening (110).
7. Handle (10) according to claim 2 taken together with any of the preceding claims, wherein the lever (40) has at its free end an actuating finger (44) configured to cooperate directly with the control module (30) in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the lever (40).

Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the support (90) comprises a body (92) which has a portion (94C) of solid cross-section and of shape complementary to the opening (74), the portion (94C) having at least one passage hole for at least said electrical connector (36).
9. Handle (10) according to the preceding claim, in which the support (90) comprises a bottom wall and a peripheral side wall delimiting a cavity (95) open at the front for receiving and holding the module (30).
10. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the support (90) includes an end portion (94B) that snaps into a wall or walls of the housing (20).
11. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a peripheral edge of the opening (74) has an overmolded track forming a peripheral sealing joint, this track extending along a closed peripheral contour.
12. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the control module (30) includes a touch sensor (32) provided with a touch actuation surface (34), said touch surface (34) extending opposite the actuation finger (44).
13. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the control module (30) is a push-button switch.
14. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the gripping element (18) has an arched shape extending over an outer surface of the opening (110).
15. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising an antenna module having at least one data transmission and reception function which is housed in the housing above the lever.
16. Handle (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first (14) and second (16) connecting part are fixedly mounted to the opening (110) to achieve a one-piece mechanical connection with the opening (110).
