Description

Title of the invention: Method for assembling a partition and assembly kit for implementing said method. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of building construction, and in particular to the interior design of a building. More specifically, the present invention concerns a method for mounting a partition on a flat surface. In particular, according to the present invention, the partition is mounted using snap-fit means. TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Document FR 2 719 089 discloses a device for assembling a partition, and in particular a removable partition. This device, as illustrated in [Fig. 4] of document FR 2 719 089, incorporates a profile capable of receiving the edge of a partition. More specifically, the profile includes a groove in which an edge of the partition is intended to abut. The device described in document FR 2 719 089 also includes a clip intended to cooperate with the profile to hold the partition in place.

[0003] However, this device is not satisfactory.

[0004] Indeed, this device requires, after coupling the partition with the profile, the installation of a clip in order to secure said partition with said profile.

[0005] Given the bulkiness of the partition and the need to temporarily maintain it, this last step is a source of complexity.

[0006] Moreover, the clip, once it is engaged by snapping with the profile, remains visible and may therefore require the implementation of a cover.

[0007] The present invention therefore aims to propose a method of mounting a partition which is simple to implement, and for which ergonomics are improved compared to known solutions in the state of the art.

[0008] Another object of the present invention is to propose a method of mounting a partition in which the manipulations of the partition are limited after the latter has been put in place.

[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a kit for mounting a partition. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0063] According to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for mounting a partition on a supporting face of a flat surface. In particular, the present invention relates to the implementation of fastening means for mounting the partition against the supporting face by a simple snap-fit. According to this first aspect, the means of The fixings are formed / attached to both sides of an edge, referred to as the support edge of the partition, and the support face. The implementation of the present invention allows, in particular, in the final step, the positioning and securing of the partition to the support face.

[0064] It is understood that the dressing, decoration, and finishing stages can be carried out after the positioning and securing of the partition with the support face.

[0065] It is understood that a slice is an essentially flat lateral face of the partition.

[0066] Thus, according to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method of mounting a partition against at least one support face of a flat support, the partition comprising two essentially parallel main faces connected by a contour, said contour comprising four slices, the mounting method comprising fixing at least one of the slices against at least one support face with fixing means, said fixing means comprising at least one clip and at least one opening delimited by a contour configured to cooperate by snap-fit with the at least one clip, the at least one clip being fixed on one of the support face and the slice considered, while the opening is formed on the other of the support face and said slice.

[0067] According to this first aspect, the invention implements fastening means mounted respectively on one or the other of the edges and the support face. Also according to this first aspect, the fastening means are fixed / formed prior to the positioning of the partition, and in particular of the edge in question, on the support face.

[0068] The invention also provides, according to one embodiment, for the formation of the opening on the support face. In particular, the formation of the opening may include material removal, drilling, stamping, punching, or any other operation capable of leading to the formation of an opening. In this regard, the flat support, according to this embodiment, may comprise a metal beam having a central, essentially flat section, said central section having a face coinciding with the support face. For example, a punching step may be performed on the support face of the beam in order to form the opening.

[0069] According to another embodiment, it is possible to consider positioning an additional part to form the opening. In particular, the additional part may include the mounting and / or fastening of a snap-fit section onto the support face. More specifically, the snap-fit section comprises an elongated plate extending between its two ends in a direction of elongation, said plate comprising the opening. In particular, the plate comprises two faces opposite each other, referred to respectively as the upper face and the lower face. Advantageously, it is also possible to create a recess opening from the supporting face (although creating the recess in the partition and opening from an edge is also an option). In this case, the plate can be installed over the recess on its underside, the plate including the opening, which in turn provides access to the recess.

[0070] The snap-fit section (in other words the plate) may include a central section arranged with two end sections, said end sections being configured to allow the snap-fit section to be fixed against one of the support face and the mounting edge and by the lower face of the snap-fit section.

[0071] The opening is delimited by a snap-fit contour configured to cooperate by snap-fitting with the snap-fitting means by engaging the latter in the opening through the upper face of the snap-fit section in a mounting direction going from the upper face to a lower face of the snap-fit section opposite the upper face.

[0072] Advantageously, the opening has an extension along the greater elongation direction, advantageously at least twice the transverse extent of the snap-fit section, so as to allow positioning adjustment of the partition by displacing the latter along the extension direction of the opening when the snap-fit means are engaged by snap-fit with the snap-fit contour. Also advantageously, the snap-fit section may include folds such that the end sections are in a foreground plane and the central section is in a second plane different from the foreground plane and downstream of the foreground plane in a direction opposite to the mounting direction.

[0073] According to the first aspect, the process may then include the execution of the following steps:

[0074] a) fix at least one clip on one of the edge and the support face of the support;

[0075] b) form at least one opening on the other of the edge and the support face;

[0076] c) position the edge opposite the support face, and proceed to snap it into place of at least one clip with at least one outline.

[0077] The fixing of the clip may include in particular the implementation of fixing means, for example screws.

[0078] In this regard, the clip may be provided with a base and locking means extending from a first face of the base. The base also includes a second face, opposite the first face, by which the clip can be mounted onto one of the edges and the support face of the holder.

[0079] The base may be provided with holes allowing the clip to be fixed to one of the edges and the support face of the support with screws for example.

[0080] The latching means may include two spring fins. In particular, each spring fin may comprise, along a direction from the first face to the second face and referred to as the principal direction, a first essentially planar section and a second essentially planar section. The first two sections extend divergently from each other along the principal direction, and the second two sections extend convergently from each other along the principal direction.

[0081] In a particularly advantageous manner, the first two sections are arranged so that, when the ratcheting means are engaged in the opening, and when in contact by sliding against the contour of the opening (called ratcheting contour), they move closer together in order to allow the complete insertion of said ratcheting means into the opening.

[0082] Also advantageously, the two second sections can be arranged so that, after passing through the opening of the first sections, they butt against the snap-in contour.

[0083] Each spring fin may include a spring strip connecting its first section to the base. In particular, the spring strip may connect an edge of the first section to the base.

[0084] Advantageously, the base includes play-compensating means configured to compensate for any play along the mounting direction defined in the remainder of the description of the present invention. The play-compensating means may include tabs extending from an edge of the base and bent in a direction opposite to the principal direction. These tabs are configured to bear against the upper face and exert a force in a direction opposite to the mounting direction.

[0085] Advantageously, at least one opening may be elongated along an elongation direction so as to allow relative displacement, along the elongation direction, of at least one clip within the opening after execution of step c). The assembly method further comprises a step d), following step c), of adjusting the positioning of the partition, the positioning adjustment comprising a displacement of said partition along the elongation direction. This latter aspect facilitates assembly, and in particular the positioning and subsequent snapping of the partition at at least two different (and not parallel) edges.

[0086] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a mounting kit for a partition against a supporting face of a flat support, the partition comprising two faces main sections essentially parallel and connected to form a contour, said contour comprising four slices, the assembly kit comprising:

[0087] - a clip provided with a base and locking means extending from a first face of the base, said clip being configured to be mounted on either of the support face and one of the edges of the contour, called mounting edge, by a second face of the base and opposite to the first face;

[0088] - a snap-fit section, essentially flat, and intended to be integral with the other of the support face and the mounting edge, the snap-in section being provided with an opening, elongated in shape along an elongation direction, delimited by a snap-in contour configured to cooperate by snap-in with the snap-in means by engaging the latter in the opening through a top face of the snap-in section along a mounting direction going from the top face to a bottom face of the snap-in section opposite the top face.

[0089] This second aspect incorporates the characteristics described in relation to the first aspect.

[0090] The invention also relates to a third aspect concerning the implementation of the mounting kit.

[0091] More particularly, the invention also relates to a method for mounting a partition on a supporting face of a joist, the partition comprising two essentially parallel main faces connected by a contour, said contour comprising four slices, the method employing the mounting kit, and said method comprising:

[0092] - a step of fixing the clip on a so-called mounting edge of the partition;

[0093] - a step of forming the snap-fit section on the support face of the joist

[0094] - a step of positioning the mounting edge of the partition opposite the support face for the purpose of engaging the ratcheting means in the opening.

[0095] The remainder of the statement of the present invention provides a detailed description of examples relating to the different aspects described above.

[0096] The remainder of the statement describes the various steps of a method for mounting a partition against at least one support. It is understood that a partition within the meaning of the present invention may include a separation of a room or a facade of a wall of a room.

[0097] Furthermore, the partition 1, as shown in [Fig. 1], comprises two principal faces 2 and 3, said principal faces 2 and 3 being connected by a contour 4, said partition having the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped. In this respect, the contour comprises four slices 5, 6, 7, 8, and shaped so that two adjacent slices are perpendicular.

[0098] The partition may include any type of material, in particular the partition may include wood.

[0099] The method according to the present invention comprises the provision of the partition 1 and a support face 10 of a flat support 9. The flat support 9 may comprise another partition, a joist, a skirting board, the floor of a room, a partition wall.

[0100] Furthermore, when the flat support includes a partition, the support face can be either an edge or the main face of the partition in question.

[0101] The method according to the present invention is intended for mounting the partition 1 against the support face 10 of the flat support 9. This mounting notably employs fastening means, said fastening means comprising at least one clip and at least one opening delimited by a contour, referred to as the snap-in contour. According to the present invention, the snap-in contour is configured to cooperate by snap-fitting with the at least one clip.

[0102] Thus, at least one clip can be fixed on one of the support face and one of the four slices, called the mounting slice, while the opening can be formed on the other of the support face and the mounting slice.

[0103] For example, at least one clip can be mounted on the mounting edge and the opening formed on the support face.

[0104] The remainder of the statement is limited to the simple consideration of a clip mounted on the mounting edge and an opening formed on a support face. However, the invention is not limited to this single aspect and a person skilled in the art may consider the reverse situation.

[0105] Figure 2 is an illustration of an example of a clip 11 that can be put into work for the realization of the process according to the present invention.

[0106] The clip 11 includes a base 12 and snap-on means 13. The base 12 is generally planar in shape and comprises two faces opposite each other, referred to respectively as first face 14 and second face 15.

[0107] The first face 14 is a face from which the snap-on means 13 extend, while the second face 15 is a face by which the clip is intended to be mounted against the mounting edge. In particular, the base may include holes 16 and 17 for mounting the clip against the mounting edge by means of screws. The clip may also be mounted against the mounting edge by means of protruding pins relative to the second face 15.

[0108] The latching means 13 comprise two spring fins 18a and 18b. The two spring fins 18a and 18b are, in particular, symmetrical to each other by with respect to a plane of symmetry P, the plane of symmetry P being perpendicular to the first face 14.

[0109] More particularly, each spring fin 18a and 18b can comprise, along a direction from the first face 14 to the second face 15 and called the main direction, a first section 19a, 19b essentially planar and a second section 20a, 20b also essentially planar.

[0110] The first two sections 19a and 19b extend divergently from each other along the main direction, and the second two sections 20a and 20b extend convergently from each other along the main direction.

[0111] By "extending divergently along the principal direction", it is meant that the separation between the first two sections increases along said direction.

[0112] By "extending convergently along the principal direction", it is meant that the spacing between the two second sections decreases along said direction.

[0113] Each spring fin 18a and 18b may include a spring strip 21a, 21b securing its first section 19 to the base. The spring strip 21a, 21b may include a corrugated metal band giving said spring strip its spring properties.

[0114] Thus, and this aspect will become clear in the rest of the statement, the first two sections 19a and 19b are arranged so that, when engaged in the direction of assembly in the opening of the snap-in means, and when in contact by sliding against the snap-in contour, they come closer to each other in order to allow the complete insertion of said snap-in means into the opening.

[0115] Figure 3 is a schematic representation of an opening according to the principles set forth in the present invention. In particular, the opening 22 shown in Figure 3 is obtained directly by removing material from the support face of the flat support. The flat support 9 comprises, in this specific case, a metal beam or joist with a rectangular or square cross-section. The material removal can involve any technique known to a person skilled in the art in the field of metal structure forming.

[0116] Thus, the formation of the opening 22 may include drilling, stamping, punching or any other operation likely to lead to the formation of said opening 22.

[0117] On [Fig.3], we can also observe a stamped area 23 formed at the periphery of the opening and in particular intended for the mechanical reinforcement of the support face 10. More particularly, the stamped area 23 is recessed relative to the support face 10.

[0118] The opening 22 is delimited by a contour, called the snap-in contour 24, configured to cooperate by snap-in with the clip 11.

[0119] In particular, the cooperation between the clip 11 and the snap-in contour 24 includes the engagement of the clip 11 in the opening 22 by the support face 10. During this engagement, the divergence of the first sections 19a, 19b decreases as the engagement progresses until the second sections 20a, 20b reach the snap-in contour 24. The second sections 20a, 20b then pass into the opening 22, thus allowing, by virtue of their convergence, a separation of the first sections 19a, 19b. After passing through the opening 22, the second sections slide against the snap-in contour by a face opposite to the front face.

[0120] Thus, the fixing of the mounting plate according to the terms of the present invention may be preceded by the following steps:

[0121] a) fix the clip 11 ([Fig.4]) onto the mounting edge;

[0122] b) form the opening 22 on the support face ([Fig.3]);

[0123] c) position the mounting edge opposite the support face, and proceed to snap the clip into place with the snap-in contour.

[0124] Step a) implements a fixing by means of screws 25 against the mounting edge 6a.

[0125] Advantageously, the base 12 of the clip 11 includes play-compensating means configured to compensate for any play along the mounting direction. In particular, the play-compensating means include tabs 26 ([Fig. 2]) extending from an edge of the base 12 and bent in a direction opposite to the main direction. These tabs are configured to bear against the support face and exert a force in a direction opposite to the mounting direction.

[0126] According to a variant of the present invention, the formation of the opening 22 can include placing a plate 27 on the support face 10 of the flat support 9 ([Fig.7]).

[0127] In this respect, the plate 27 may comprise an upper face 28 and a lower face 29 and include the opening 22. In particular, the elongated plate 27 extends between two ends in a direction of elongation. More specifically, the plate 27 may comprise a central section 30 and two end sections 31, 32, said end sections being configured to allow the snap-on section to be fixed against the support face by the lower face of said plate 27. It is understood that the opening 22 is supported by the central section 30.

[0128] Thus, step b) may include the execution of a step b3) of placing the plate 27, by its lower face 29, against the support face 10. The placement of the plate 27 may include a screwing step.

[0129] In addition, step b) may also include, prior to the execution of step b3), the creation of a housing 33 opening through the support face and the mounting edge (step b1)). According to this latter aspect, step b3) is executed so that the plate is overlapping the housing 33, and the opening provides access to the housing.

[0130] As illustrated in [Fig.5], [Fig.6] and [Fig.7], the plate 27 may include folds so that the end sections 31 and 32 are in a foreground and the central section 29 is in a second plane different from the first plane and downstream of the first plane in a direction opposite to the mounting direction.

[0131] According to an advantageous embodiment, the opening is elongated in shape along an elongation direction so as to allow a relative displacement, along the elongation direction, of the clip in the opening after execution of step c). This latter aspect makes it possible in particular to consider a step d), following step c), of adjusting the positioning of the partition, the adjustment of the positioning including a displacement of said partition along the elongation direction.

[0132] Thus, in [Fig.8], we can see the placement of two plates 27a, 27b on the edge 6 (hereinafter "horizontal edge"), two other plates 27c, 27d on the edge 5 (hereinafter "vertical edge"), and two clips 1la and 11b on the edge 7 (hereinafter "other vertical edge") of a partition 2.

[0133] Figure 9 schematically represents the positioning of clips 1 le, 1 Id, 1 le and 1 If on a support face 10a (hereinafter "horizontal support face") of a horizontal plane support 9a. Fig. 9 also shows the positioning of clips 11g and 1 Ih on a support face 10b (hereinafter "vertical support face") of a vertical plane support 9b, said vertical plane support 9b forming a right angle with the horizontal plane support 9a.

[0134] Figures 10 and 11 show the mounting of partition 2 against the face Horizontal support 10a. In particular, and as illustrated in [Fig. 10], the horizontal edge is positioned opposite the horizontal support face, in such a way as to allow clip 1l to engage with plate 27a and clip 1d with plate 27b (illustrated in [Fig. 8] and [Fig. 9]). [Fig. 10] shows the end of the engagement and then the snapping of clip 1l with plate 27a, and of clip 1d with plate 27b.

[0135] In these two figures, the vertical face remains at a distance from the vertical support face. Also, considering an elongated opening in the plates 27a and 27b allows for movement of the partition after clipping, on the one hand, clip 11c with plate 27a, and on the other hand, clip 11d with plate 27b.

[0136] In this regard, the opening of the plates 27a and 27b may have an extension along the greater elongation direction, advantageously at least twice greater, than the transverse extent of the snap-in section of the clips 11c and 1 Id.

[0137] This last aspect thus allows an adjustment of the positioning of the partition 2 tending to bring the vertical edge 5 closer to the vertical support face 10b so as to engage, on the one hand, the clip 11g in the plate 27c, and on the other hand, the clip 1 Ih in the plate 27d ([Fig. 11] and [Fig. 12]).

[0138] According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, it may be considered to implement a dismantling wedge 34. In particular, and as illustrated in [Fig.13], the dismantling wedge 34 can be arranged in the housing 33.

[0139] As illustrated in [Fig.14], the dismantling wedge 34 comprises two main walls 35, 36 parallel to each other, each provided with a free edge 35a and 36a opposite a bottom 37 of said dismantling wedge.

[0140] In particular, and as illustrated in [Fig. 13], the dismantling wedge 34 is configured to be inserted, by its bottom 37, into the housing 33. More particularly, the dismantling wedge 34 is intended to be inserted into the housing 33 by its bottom 37 and so that the opening 22 of the plate 27 is in line with a face of said dismantling wedge opposite the bottom 37.

[0141] Furthermore, the dismantling wedge 34 is configured to adopt either a first position and a second position in the housing depending on the mounting direction.

[0142] In particular, the first position, illustrated in [Fig. 15], is a position in which the free edges 35a and 36a are kept away from the first sections 19a and 19b.

[0143] The second position being a position for which each free edge 35a and 36a forces the first sections to come together so as to allow the removal of the snap-on means in a direction opposite to the direction of assembly [Fig. 16].

[0144] In particular, moving the dismantling wedge 34 from the first position to the second position involves moving said wedge in a direction opposite to the direction of assembly, while moving the dismantling wedge from the second position to the first position involves moving the dismantling wedge in the housing in the direction of assembly.

[0145] The dismantling wedge may also include two lateral levers 38 which extend from the bottom 37 and in a direction from the bottom 37 towards one of the free edges 35a, 36a, and each terminate in a tooth 39. The two teeth 39 each extend in two opposite directions.

[0146] It is understood that the lateral levers each extend along one face, called the lateral face, of their respective dismantling wedge, opposite each other. More particularly the two lateral faces are perpendicular to the main walls 35 and 36.

[0147] The plate 27 may include stop means, which extend from the lower face of said plate, and intended to cooperate with the teeth 39. In particular, the stop means 40 ([Fig.7]) may be configured to allow the dismantling wedge to be held in the second position by cooperation of said stop means 40 with the teeth 39.

[0148] In particular, the stop means, as illustrated in [Fig.5] and [Fig.7], may comprise two slats, referred to as stop slats 42 and 43, which extend from their origin, respectively, from the end section 31 and the end section 32. In particular, the stop slats 42 and 43 extend towards each other in a manner substantially parallel to the central section 30. As illustrated in [Fig.7], the stop slats terminate with a rounded section along the mounting direction.

[0149] Alternatively, as illustrated in [Fig. 6], each stop slat 42, 43 may comprise, from its origin to its free end, a first portion 42a, 43a and a second portion 42b, 43b. The first two portions 42a, 43a extend towards each other, while the second two portions 42b, 43b extend from a first portion 42a, 43a in the direction of assembly. Each stop slat 42, 43 may also comprise a lug 42c, 43c. The lugs 42c, 43c extend convergently in a direction opposite to the direction of assembly and each from one of the second portions 42b, 43b.

[0150] The cleats 42c, 43c are in particular configured to form the stop means cooperating with the teeth.

[0151] Finally, the transition from one of the first and second positions to the other of these two positions can be controlled by means of a tool designed to act directly on the dismantling wedge. In particular, the tool may include a rod for insertion into a circular or oblong opening 41, providing access to the dismantling wedge, and formed in the partition or the flat support. The tool may, in particular, act on the bottom of the dismantling wedge. According to this embodiment, the opening 41 may be formed from a face of the flat support opposite the support face. According to another embodiment, the opening may be formed on a side of the flat support and consequently be oblong in shape.

[0152] The invention also relates to a mounting kit for a partition against a supporting face of a flat support, the partition comprising two essentially parallel main faces connected by a contour, said contour comprising at least three slices, for example four slices, the mounting kit comprising:

[0153] - a clip provided with a base and locking means extending from a first face of the base, said clip being configured to be mounted on one of the faces support or one of the edges of the contour, called mounting edge, by a second face of the base and opposite to the first face;

[0154] - a snap-fit section, essentially flat, intended to be integral with the other

[0155] of the support face or the mounting edge, the snap-in section being provided with an opening, elongated in shape along an elongation direction, delimited by a snap-in contour configured to cooperate by snap-in with the snap-in means by engaging the latter in the opening through a top face of the snap-in section along a mounting direction going from the top face to a bottom face of the snap-in section opposite the top face.

[0156] This assembly kit may in particular reproduce in part or in whole the characteristics described in relation to the assembly process.

[0157] The invention also relates to the implementation of the kit for mounting a partition.

[0158] Of course the invention is not limited to the described method(s) of implementation and alternative embodiments can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the claims.
