Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: KIT AND LINK FOR BICONDUCTIVE ELECTRICAL LEASH AND RESULTING LEASH
[0001] The invention relates to a kit for a biconductive electrical leash, that is, a leash with double electrical conductivity, allowing the transmission of an electric current from one longitudinal end of the leash to the other. The invention also relates to a link and to the biconductive electrical leash obtained from the kit. Background of the invention
[0002] In my international application published under number WO2024100508, the power supply for the locking / unlocking means located at the level of the pet's collar or harness is provided either by means of an electric wire or by electromagnetic waves.
[0003] When an electric wire is in use, it can be cut by malicious individuals or pranksters.
[0004] The use of electromagnetic waves implies the existence of an electronic circuit and a power supply specific to the locking / unlocking means. Summary of the invention
[0005] The main object of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned disadvantages in a simple way.
[0006] According to the invention, this objective is achieved by providing that the leash itself can conduct the current necessary for the locking / unlocking means. Thus, it is not necessary to provide an electrical wire accompanying the leash or an electronic circuit at the collar or harness.
[0007] To this end, the invention proposes a biconductive leash, i.e. with double electrical conductivity, formed from a kit conforming to the following statement 1:
[0008] L- Kit for a bi-conductive electrical leash link, comprising: - an elongated spacer along a longitudinal axis, having four legs arranged in a rectangle, each with a hole perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, - a pair of first pieces of elongated shape along a longitudinal axis and having at one longitudinal end a finger having a hole perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, - a pair of second pieces of elongated shape along a longitudinal axis and having at one of their longitudinal ends a recess suitable for to receive, at the same time, a spacer bracket and a finger of a first piece and having two longitudinal walls each pierced with a hole perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the holes of the two walls being aligned, - four rods suitable for insertion into the holes in the spacer's legs, into the holes in the fingers of the first pieces, and into the holes in the walls of the recesses of the second pieces, - the spacer being made of an electrically insulating material and the first and second parts as well as the rods of electrically conductive materials.
[0009] Each kit according to the invention is intended for the production of a link. The links are intended to be connected to each other to produce a leash made up of two longitudinal and symmetrical half-leashes with respect to the longitudinal axis of the leash.
[0010] The spacer serves to keep the two halves of the cord separated from each other to prevent them from coming into contact. Thus, current can flow in one direction along one half of the cord and return in the opposite direction along the other half. Consequently, it is possible to supply electrical power to a device located at one end of the cord using an electrical power source located at the other end of the cord, without the need for electrical wires that could easily be severed.
[0011] Indeed, while the leash may be subjected to shocks during use, these would not cause a prolonged power interruption. In practice, a power outage would last only a few microseconds, which would not disrupt the intended use of the leash, namely, the conduction of a control current, generally for unlocking, to the locking / unlocking means of a pet collar or harness.
[0012] Advantageous features of the kit of the aforementioned statement 1 are indicated in the following statements 2 to 9:

[0042] Figures 1 and 2 show a kit according to a first embodiment of the invention.
[0043] This kit includes first of all a spacer 3 of elongated shape along a longitudinal axis X and having four legs al,bl,a' l,b' 1 arranged in a rectangle and each having a hole perpendicular tl,t2,t' 1 ,t'2 to the longitudinal axis X.
[0044] The legs al,a' l,bl,b' 1 have a part perpendicular to the X axis extended by a part parallel to the X axis.
[0045] The legs al,a' 1 located on one longitudinal side have a shape opposite longitudinally to those bl,b'l of the legs located on the other longitudinal side, or, in other words, the legs al,al' form a U and the legs bl,b' 1 form an inverted U.
[0046] The spacer 3 has the function of keeping apart from each other, on the one hand, a first piece 1 and a first piece 1', and, on the other hand, a second piece 2 and a second piece 2'.
[0047] However, as will be seen later, the spacer of another kit also contributes to maintaining the second parts 2,2' in a spaced state.
[0048] The first pieces 1' and 1' are generally identical, elongated in shape along a longitudinal axis Y,Y' and each has at one longitudinal end a finger 4,4' having a hole 5,5' perpendicular to their respective longitudinal axis Y, Y'.
[0049] As can be seen in [Fig. 1], the fingers 4 and 4' are not equally distributed on either side of their respective axis Y,Y', they are offset on one side with respect to this axis Y,Y'.
[0050] The second pieces 2 and 2' are generally identical, elongated along a longitudinal axis Z,Z' and each has at one longitudinal end a recess 6,6' suitable for receiving both a spacer tab al,a' 1 and a finger 4,4' of the first piece 1,1'. The two longitudinal walls 9,10,9', 10' of each recess 6,6' face each other and are each pierced with a hole 11,12,11', 12' perpendicular to the longitudinal axis Z,Z', the holes 11,12 and 11', 12' of the two walls 9,10 and 9', 10' being aligned.
[0051] The kit also includes four rods 7,7',8,8', suitable for being inserted respectively into the holes tl,tl',t2,t2' of the legs al,a'l,bl,b'l of the spacer 3, into those 5,5' of the fingers 4,4' of the first pieces 1,1' and into those 11,12,11',12' of the walls 9,10,9', 10' of the recesses 6,6' of the second pieces 2,2'.
[0052] The length of the spacer 3 along the X axis is substantially equal to that of the first parts 1,1'
[0053] The second pieces 2,2' have at their other longitudinal end a second recess 13,13' generally identical to the recess 6,6', with longitudinal walls 14,15,14,15' also with transverse holes 16,17,16',17'.
[0054] The first pieces 1,1' have at their other longitudinal end a second finger 18,18' generally identical to finger 4,4'. Kit according to a second embodiment
[0055] Figures 3 and 4 show a kit according to a second embodiment of the invention.
[0056] Like the kit of the first embodiment, this kit first of all comprises a spacer 20 of elongated shape along a longitudinal axis XI and having four legs cl, dl, c' l, d' 1 arranged in a rectangle and each having a hole perpendicular t3, t4, t'3, t'4 to the longitudinal axis XL
[0057] This spacer 20 has the function of keeping apart from each other, on the one hand, a first piece 21 and a first piece 21', and, on the other hand, a second piece 22 and a second piece 22'.
[0058] However, as will be seen later, the spacer of another kit also contributes to maintaining the first parts 21,21' in a separated state.
[0059] The first parts 21 and 21' are generally identical, elongated in shape along a longitudinal axis Y1,Y1' and each has at one longitudinal end a finger 23,23' having a hole 24,24' perpendicular to their respective longitudinal axis Y1,Y1'.
[0060] As can be seen in [Fig.3], the fingers 23 and 23' are not equally distributed on either side of their respective axis Y1,Y1', they are offset on one side with respect to this axis Y1,Y1'.
[0061] The second pieces 22 and 22' are generally identical, elongated along a longitudinal axis Z1,Z1' and each has at one longitudinal end a recess 25,25' suitable for receiving both a spacer tab cl,cl' and, as will be seen later, a finger of the first piece from another kit according to this second embodiment.
[0062] The two longitudinal walls 26,27,26',27' of each recess 25,25' face each other and are each pierced with a hole 28,29,28',29' perpendicular to the longitudinal axis Z1,Z1', the holes 28,29 and 28',29' of the two walls 26,27 and 26',27' being aligned.
[0063] The kit also includes four rods 30, 30', 31, 31', suitable for being inserted respectively into the holes t3, t'3, t4, t4' of the tabs cl, c'l, dl, d'l of the spacer 20, into the holes 35, 36, 35', 36' of the walls 33, 34, 33', 34' of the recesses 32, 32' of the first parts, into the holes 28, 29, 28', 29' of the walls 26, 27', 26', 27' of the hollows 25,25' of the second pieces 22,22' and in those 24,24' of the fingers 23,23' of the first pieces 21,21'.
[0064] According to this embodiment, the length of the spacer 20 is substantially equal to that of the second pieces 22,22'.
[0065] According to this embodiment, the first parts are generally identical to the second parts.
[0066] This means that the first pieces 21,21' also have at the end opposite to that which has the fingers 23,23', recesses 32,32' generally identical to those 25,25' of the second pieces 22,22', that is to say having two walls 33,34,33',34' crossed perpendicularly to the respective axes Y1 and Y' 1 by holes 35,36,35',36'.
[0067] As for the second pieces 22,22', they have fingers 37,37' offset from their respective axis Y1,Y' 1 and crossed by holes 38, 38' perpendicular to these axes.
[0068] The tabs cl,c' 1 of the spacer 30 located on one longitudinal side have the same shape as the tabs dl,dl' located on the other longitudinal side, or, in other words, the tabs cl,c' 1 form U shapes turned in the same longitudinal direction. Link according to a first embodiment
[0069] This link can be obtained by assembling the parts of the kit according to the first embodiment of the invention.
[0070] Specifically, two first pieces 1,1' are arranged with their axes Y and Y' parallel, being rotated so that the fingers 4,4' are on opposite sides of each other, that is to say that each finger 4,4' is offset with respect to the longitudinal axis Y, Y' in the position which takes it furthest away from the other finger 4,4'.
[0071] A spacer 3 is then placed between the first pieces 1,1' with its X axis parallel to the Y and Y' axes. Then two second pieces are arranged by aligning the Z axis with the Y axis and the Z' axis with Y'.
[0072] Each finger 4,4' of first piece 1,1' is inserted into a recess 6,6' of second piece 2,2' leaving on the side of the X axis space so that the part parallel to the X axis of a strut leg al,a' 1 can also fit into the recess 6,6'.
[0073] Each rod 7,7' is then inserted into the hole 11,12' of the recess wall 9,10' of the second piece 2,2' furthest from the axis Z,Z', then into the hole 5,5' of the finger 4,4' of the first piece 1,1', into the hole tl,t' 1 of the spacer leg al, a' 1 and finally into the hole 12,11' of the recess wall 10,9' closest to the axis X.
[0074] In this way, the spacer 3 is partially rotationally fixed to the first parts 1,1'. These can rotate with the spacer around the axis 7.7' rods. Spacer 3 will be fully secured in motion when a second link is connected. Link according to a second embodiment
[0075] This link can be obtained by assembling the parts of the kit according to the second embodiment of the invention.
[0076] Specifically, two second pieces 22,22' are arranged with their axes ZI and Z' 1 parallel, being rotated so that the fingers 37,37' are on opposite sides of each other, that is to say that each finger 37,37' is offset with respect to the longitudinal axis Y, Y' in the position which takes it furthest away from the other finger 37,37'.
[0077] A spacer 20 is then placed between them with its axis XI parallel to the axes ZI and ZI', the parts of the legs cl,c' 1 which are parallel to the axis XI being inserted into the recesses 25,25'. Then two first pieces 21,21' are arranged by aligning the axis Y1 with the axis ZI and the axis Y'1 with the axis Zl'.
[0078] Each finger 37,37' of second piece 22,22' is inserted into a recess 32,32' of first piece 21,21' leaving on the side of axis XI space for a spacer leg dl,d'l to also fit into the recess 32,32'.
[0079] Each rod 31,31' is then inserted into the hole 35,36' of the recess wall 33,34' of the first part 21,21' furthest from the axis Y1,Y1', then into the hole 38,38' of the finger 37,37' of the second part 22,22', into the hole t4,t'4 of the spacer lug dl, d' 1 and finally into the hole 36,35' of the recess wall 34,33' closest to the axis XL
[0080] In this way, the spacer 20 is secured in motion to the second pieces 22,22'. These can rotate with the spacer around the axis of the rods 31,31'.
[0081] The spacer 20 will be fully secured in motion when a second link is connected. Leave according to the invention
[0082] Assembling a plurality of links in any embodiment results in obtaining a leash according to the invention.
[0083] Each link is therefore connected at one longitudinal end to another link by the rods penetrating each time into the recess walls, the fingers and the spacer tabs.
[0084] With the first embodiment, we obtain the leash shown in [Fig.5].
[0085] With the second embodiment, we obtain the leash shown in [Fig.6].
[0086] It goes without saying that it is not possible to combine the first embodiment with the second embodiment.
[0087] Two types of leashes are thus obtained, but these leashes have few differences between them.
[0088] Although the axial lengths of the first and second parts are generally identical, they can be designed to be different.
[0089] In the same type of leash, links of different axial lengths may also be present. It goes without saying that the spacer must have an axial length corresponding to the first piece (first embodiment) or second piece (second embodiment) next to which it is located.
[0090] In addition, the axial lengths of the first pieces 1,21 must be equal to the axial lengths 1',21' and those of the second pieces 2,22 to those of the second pieces 2',22'.
[0091] Notes concerning all embodiments
[0092] The third wall of the recesses, the bottom wall, is preferably perpendicular to the axes Z,Z',Z1,Z' 1,Y1,Y' 1.
[0093] The clearance between the end of a first or second piece and the third wall of a recess must be sufficient to allow free rotation of the first or second piece. The corners of the ends of the first or second pieces are preferably rounded as well to facilitate such free rotation.
[0094] As can be seen by comparing figures 2 and 4 with figures 1 and 2, the first pieces, the second pieces and the spacers are thin and are substantially in the shape of a plate.
[0095] The rods are, for example, pins that form a tight fit in the holes in the longitudinal walls of the recesses and a loose fit in the holes in the spacer tabs and the fingers. They are therefore generally inserted using a hammer and removed using a pin punch. The part of the pin intended to be in a recess is preferably smooth.
[0096] The rods can also be screws. In this case, they shall have a preferably smooth section intended to be inside a recess and a threaded end intended to cooperate with a tapped hole in the wall of the recess.
[0097] In the second embodiment, screws are preferred to facilitate the assembly or disassembly of a link.
[0098] The dimensions of the recesses, the first pieces, the second pieces and the spacers must allow free rotation of a first piece relative to a second piece.
[0099] In addition, the dimensioning of the rods, the recess walls, the first and second parts must confer a high tensile strength along the longitudinal axes Y,Y',Yl,Y'l and Z,Z',Zl,Z'l.
[0100] At each recess, one of the longitudinal walls is shorter than the other in order to allow passage of the part of a leg perpendicular to the X, XI axis of the spacer concerned and to allow free rotation of the accompanying spacer of a first piece (1st embodiment) or a second piece (2nd embodiment), compared to a second piece (1st embodiment) or a first piece (2nd embodiment). The shorter wall is obviously the one located on the spacer side when the link is assembled, as shown in Figures 1 to 6.
[0101] The transverse edges (perpendicular to the longitudinal axes) of the legs of the spacers and of the first and second pieces are preferably rounded or beveled so as not to hinder the aforementioned rotation.
[0102] The spacer is made of an electrically insulating and rigid material (hard plastic material, wood, etc.)
[0103] The first and second parts as well as the rods are made of electrically conductive materials, for example metals or metal alloys (stainless steel...).
[0104] The first and second parts may be partially coated with an insulating layer, for example, non-electrically conductive paint. Of course, care must be taken to ensure that the walls of the holes in the first and second parts, as well as the rods, are not coated with any insulating layer.
[0105] The current flows from link to link in one direction on one half of the leash and in the other direction on the other half of the leash.
[0106] In a leash, the longitudinal axes X or XI of all the spacers are aligned.
[0107] Similarly, the longitudinal axes Y of the first pieces are all aligned,
[0108] the longitudinal axes Y' of the first pieces are all aligned, the longitudinal axes Y1 of the first pieces are all aligned, the longitudinal axes Y'1 of the first pieces are all aligned, the longitudinal axes Z of the second pieces are aligned, the longitudinal axes Z' of the second pieces are aligned, the longitudinal axes ZI of the second pieces are aligned, the longitudinal axes Z'1 of the second pieces are aligned.
[0109] The axes Y,Y',Y1,Y' 1 and Z,Z',Z1,Z' 1 and X,X1 are normally all parallel.
[0110] The leash therefore has longitudinal symmetry with respect to the X or XI axis of the spacers.
[0111] The first link of the leash 1,2;1',2' is connected to a source of electrical power and the last link to the device requiring electrical power, for example, the locking / unlocking means. The connections are normally made by means of the fingers and the walls of the recesses, advantageously using their transverse holes. Attaching a leash
[0112] The leash according to the invention can be connected by one of its longitudinal ends to a leash handle such as that of the aforementioned international application No. WO2024100508 and / or by the other end to locking means of a pet collar or harness such as those of the same international application.
[0113] The breakage of a spacer is not serious because the other spacers still allow the two half-links to be sufficiently far apart from each other so as not to touch and cause a short circuit.
[0114] However, to reduce the twisting of a leash according to the invention and thus reduce the risk of breakage of a spacer, the connection of the leash is preferably made by allowing a rotation of the leash around its longitudinal axis relative to the handle and / or a rotation of the leash relative to the collar or harness of the pet.
[0115] This can be achieved by means of an R fitting such as that shown in figures 7 and 8.
[0116] This fitting R has a substantially cylindrical shape elongating along an axis A.
[0117] It includes at a longitudinal end a disc-shaped part 40 intended to bear against the housing 41 of a handle.
[0118] Two recesses 42,42' were made symmetrically on either side of the axis A to receive each, if it is a leash according to the first embodiment of the invention, a finger 18,18' of first part 1,1' as well as the part parallel to the axis X of a leg bl,b' 1 of spacer 3 or, if it is a leash according to the second embodiment of the invention, only the finger 23,23' of a first part 21,21'.
[0119] In the first case, the radial dimension of the 42,42' grooves is logically more important.
[0120] The fingers 18,18',23,23' and where applicable, the spacer tabs bl,b' 1, can be fixed to the fitting by means of screws 43,43' passing through their holes 19,19',24,24' and where applicable through the holes t2,t'2.
[0121] The fitting R has a first groove 44 located near the discoid part 40 and this first groove 40 has a first radial hole 45, allowing the finger 18,23 of a first part 1,21 to be exposed.
[0122] Similarly, a second groove 46 is provided at an axial distance from the first groove 44 and it has a second radial hole 47, allowing the finger 18', 23' of the other first piece 1',21' symmetrical to the first piece 1,21 housed in the hole 42 and held by the screw 43 to be exposed.
[0123] Electrically conductive elastic blades 48, 49 visible in the figures 9 and 10, generally made of metal, circular in shape and each having at least one end 50,51 folded towards the center, are intended to be deformed while being placed in the grooves 44,46 by introducing their folded ends 50,51 into the radial holes 45,47 so that these establish electrical contact with the fingers 18,23,18',23' of the first pieces 1,21,1',21'.
[0124] Returning to figures 7 and 8, we see that in the center of the discoidal part 40 of the fitting R there is an axial hole 52 provided to house a screw 53. A recess 54 can also be provided in the center of the discoidal part 40 to receive the head 55 of the screw 53.
[0125] The screw 53 has a smooth cylindrical section 56 intended to pass through the fitting R and allow the latter to rotate freely around it.
[0126] At the end of the screw 53 opposite its head 55, a threaded section 57 is provided for fixing into a fixing stud 58 of the housing 41 to hold the fitting R on the housing 41.
[0127] Electrical supply contacts are provided, in particular in the form of electrically conductive elastic strips 59, 60, visible in figures 9 and 10 and curved to be applied against the blades 48, 49 in order to transmit to them electrical current from the + and - terminals of the leash handle and which must travel along the leash, even in the event of rotation of the leash relative to the housing 41.
[0128] It is possible to provide an R connection at the level of the housing of a leash handle and / or another at the level of a pet collar or harness.
[0129] In the latter case, the blades 48,49 are connected to the locking / unlocking means of this collar or harness.
[0130] Thus, when using the leash, great flexibility is obtained thanks to the links constituting the leash and the freedom of rotation of the leash relative to the leash handle and / or the collar or harness of a pet.
