Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Rigid rear shelf for a motor vehicle, featuring a through opening. Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to a rigid rear shelf for a motor vehicle, the rigid rear shelf having at least one cutout or through-hole. The invention particularly relates to such a rigid rear shelf having at least one through-hole adapted to allow passage for an elongated object—for example, a fishing rod—and / or requiring it to be held in a vertical or inclined position in the luggage compartment(s) of the motor vehicle. The invention therefore relates to a rigid rear shelf having a through-hole or cutout for storing elongated object(s) in a vertical or inclined position in the luggage compartment(s) of the motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle equipped with such a rigid rear shelf. Previous technique
[0002] In certain motor vehicles, particularly sedans, a rear compartment extending behind the rear seats is intended for transporting goods, such as luggage. This rear compartment defines a luggage compartment or "trunk" of the motor vehicle and is bounded at the top by a rigid rear shelf. In these motor vehicles, the rigid rear shelf extends in a substantially horizontal plane and forms a partition between the passenger compartment and the luggage compartment(s) when the tailgate is closed.
[0003] Such a rigid rear partition separating the luggage compartment from the passenger compartment contributes to the acoustic insulation of the vehicle's passenger compartment against noise emanating from the luggage compartment of the moving vehicle, particularly due to the proximity of the luggage compartment to the underlying running gear and the vehicle's exhaust. The rigid rear partition thus contributes to optimal acoustic transparency within the vehicle.
[0004] Such a rigid rear shelf is generally made of an opaque material that conceals or masks the contents of the luggage compartment(s) from view by the public passing near the motor vehicle. This reduces the risk of theft. occasional disturbances caused by the sight of an object placed in the luggage compartment(s) are reduced.
[0005] However, such a rigid rear shelf, horizontally limiting the volume of the luggage compartment(s), does not allow the transport of a solid object of elongated shape and larger than the largest dimension of the luggage compartment(s) limited upwards by the rigid rear shelf. Nor does it allow the transport of a solid object of elongated shape and larger than the height – along the Z-axis of a direct orthonormal coordinate system – of the luggage compartment(s) limited upwards by the rigid rear shelf, as the solid object of elongated shape must be maintained, during its transport in the luggage compartment(s), in a vertical or oblique position.
[0006] The invention aims to overcome this drawback.
[0007] The invention therefore aims to provide a rigid rear shelf for a motor vehicle allowing the transport of a bulky and elongated solid object in the luggage compartment(s) of a motor vehicle.
[0008] The invention also aims to provide a rigid rear shelf for a motor vehicle allowing the transport of a bulky and elongated solid object in the luggage compartment(s) of a motor vehicle, the elongated solid object needing to be held, during its transport in the luggage compartment(s), in a vertical or oblique position.
[0009] But the invention also aims to provide such a rigid rear shelf for a motor vehicle, allowing the transport of such a bulky, elongated solid object or one that needs to be held in a vertical or oblique position, while also contributing to acoustic transparency in the motor vehicle. Description of the invention
[0010] To this end, the invention relates to a rigid rear shelf of a motor vehicle, the rigid rear shelf comprising a tray forming the rigid rear shelf and having a through opening.
[0011] Throughout the text: The terms "rigid rear shelf" and "rigid rear parcel shelf" are equivalent. They refer to a rigid device which, when the rear hatch of a motor vehicle—particularly a sedan—is closed, extends in a substantially horizontal plane above a luggage compartment, also called a "trunk," and allows the contents of said luggage compartment(s) to be concealed from public view. The two main faces of a rigid rear shelf are alternately accessible to an individual, notably by tilting. of all or part of the rigid rear shelf along a tilting axis parallel to the Y-axis of the motor vehicle, - The term "pavilion" commonly refers, in the automotive field, to the bodywork element that covers the passenger compartment of the vehicle. In everyday language, the pavilion is often equated with the "roof" of the vehicle. - the terms "front", "rear", "right", "left", "up", "down", "above" and "below" are to be considered in relation to a motor vehicle in a normal driving position, - the term "substantially" and the expression "at least substantially" usually indicate that a structural or functional characteristic should not be taken as marking an abrupt discontinuity, which would have no physical meaning, but covers not only that structure or function, but also slight variations of that structure or function which produce, in the technical context considered, an effect of the same nature, if not of the same degree, - The XYZ coordinate system refers to a standard XYZ orthonormal coordinate system commonly used in automotive design, in which the X-axis represents the front-to-rear longitudinal direction of the vehicle, oriented towards the rear; the Y-axis represents the transverse direction and is oriented to the right of the vehicle; and the Z-axis represents the vertical direction and is oriented upwards. Such a standard XYZ orthonormal coordinate system, as shown in [Fig. 9], conforms to standard no. 0100112.
[0012] According to the invention, the through-opening is a through-opening that connects to both main faces of the platform. The rigid rear shelf according to the invention allows for the transport, in the luggage compartment(s) of the motor vehicle comprising the rigid rear shelf according to the invention, of a bulky, elongated solid object, that is to say, a solid object that is not very deformable or not deformable at all and whose greatest dimension—in particular, its length—is greater than the greatest dimension of the luggage compartment(s) limited at the top by the rigid rear shelf. It also allows for the transport, in the luggage compartment(s) of the motor vehicle comprising the rigid rear shelf according to the invention, of a bulky, elongated solid object that needs to be held in a vertical or oblique position during its transport in the luggage compartment(s).
[0013] According to certain embodiments, when the rigid rear shelf is positioned in the motor vehicle - in particular in the normal operating position in which the rigid rear shelf is substantially horizontal and the rear tailgate is in the position of closing the passenger compartment and / or the luggage compartment(s) - the opening The through-wall is arranged so that it is crossed by a vertical axis passing through a greater height separating a bottom of the luggage compartment(s) and an internal face of the roof delimiting the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle.
[0014] In certain embodiments, the through-opening has an opening edge that closes upon itself and delimits said through-opening. In these advantageous embodiments, the rigidity of the rigid shelf is not significantly affected. In certain embodiments, the opening edge extends in a plane.
[0015] According to certain advantageous embodiments, the platform is equipped with a shutter that can be moved between at least two positions, including a first position in which the through-opening is covered by the shutter and a second position in which the through-opening is not covered. The acoustic insulation of the passenger compartment is at least partially, or even totally, preserved, particularly with regard to noise emanating from the luggage compartment(s) of the moving vehicle, due to the proximity of the luggage compartment(s) to the underlying running gear and the vehicle's exhaust. According to these advantageous embodiments, the rigid rear shelf contributes to optimizing acoustic transparency in the vehicle.
[0016] According to certain embodiments, the shutter extends within a half-space limited by the plane of the platform and extending from this plane opposite the upper principal face of the rear rigid shelf. The upper principal face of the rear rigid shelf is the principal face of the rear rigid shelf extending opposite the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle when the rear rigid shelf is in its normal operating position in the motor vehicle, with the tailgate in the luggage compartment closed position. In particular, the upper principal face of the rear rigid shelf is the principal face of the rear rigid shelf that is visible to a person outside the motor vehicle when the rear rigid shelf is folded substantially horizontally to obstruct the luggage compartment.
[0017] According to certain embodiments, the rear rigid shelf platform comprises an upper face (in the normal operating position of the rear rigid shelf) having a surface finish, and the shutter member comprises, in the first position of the shutter member, an upper face having the same surface finish as the upper face of the platform. The aesthetics of the rear rigid shelf are preserved, and the perceived quality for the motor vehicle user is satisfactorily ensured. According to these embodiments, the surface finish of the face upper part of the shuttering mechanism in the first position and the surface finish of the upper face of the tray are polymer, textile or carpet type finishes.
[0018] In some embodiments, the opening edge of the through-hole is circular, ovoid, or polygonal, in particular quadrangular, rhombic, rectangular, or square. In some embodiments, the opening edge is rectangular with a length between 15 cm and 25 cm, in particular approximately 20 cm, and a width between 5 cm and 15 cm, in particular approximately 10 cm. Any other suitable dimension is possible. In some embodiments, the through-hole has a larger dimension extending along the Y-axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system. However, nothing prevents the through-hole from having a larger dimension extending along the X-axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system or along an oblique axis in a horizontal plane parallel to the X and Y axes of the direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system. In some embodiments, the through opening extends laterally in the middle part of the motor vehicle.
[0019] In some embodiments, the shutter element is a shutter element pivotally mounted about a pivot axis of the pivoting shutter element, parallel to a principal plane of the tray, in particular belonging to the principal plane of the tray. In some embodiments, the pivot axis is external to the opening edge. In these embodiments, the shutter element extends, in each of the at least two positions of the shutter element, entirely within the half-space limited by the plane of the tray and extending from this plane opposite the upper principal face of the rigid rear shelf. However, nothing prevents the pivot axis from being intersecting the opening edge in some other embodiments. In these embodiments, at least in the second position of the shutter element, a portion of the shutter element extends into the upper half-space bounded by the plane of the tray and extending from this plane opposite the upper principal face of the rear rigid shelf, the other complementary portion of the shutter element extending into the lower half-space bounded by the plane of the tray and extending from this plane opposite the lower principal face of the rear rigid shelf.
[0020] According to certain embodiments in which the pivot axis is external to the opening edge, the rigid rear shelf includes a hinge for securing the shutter mechanism and the tray. According to some embodiments, the hinge is fixed to the tray and the pivoting shutter mechanism by rivets.
[0021] According to certain embodiments, the rigid rear plate includes reversible locking means for the pivoting shutter member in the first position of the shutter member in which the through opening is covered by the member pivoting shutter. The reversible locking means can be of any suitable type. These may be reversible locking means consisting of two complementary elements, for example, of the hook and loop type (Velcro®), one of the two complementary elements being fixed to a part of the opening edge opposite the other complementary element fixed to the pivoting shutter. Magnetic locking means may also be used. However, nothing prevents the rigid rear panel from being designed without specific reversible locking means, as the pivoting shutter will remain in its initial position covering the through opening due to gravity and the mass of the shutter.
[0022] According to some embodiments, the pivoting shutter member is provided with a reversible retaining hook for the pivoting shutter member in the first position of the pivoting shutter member, by clipping (by elastic deformation) the retaining hook onto the plate.
[0023] According to certain embodiments, the shutter element is a shutter element mounted to slide relative to the plate between the first and second positions of the sliding shutter element. In these advantageous embodiments, the area of the through opening can be adapted to a dimension—in particular, the diameter in cross-section—of the bulky, elongated solid object. According to these advantageous embodiments, the rigid rear shelf allows for the optimization of acoustic transparency in the motor vehicle, and the perceived quality performance is met.
[0024] According to some of these embodiments, it comprises two guide rails for the sliding shutter member. The guide rails are parallel to each other and mounted parallel and rigidly attached to the plate.
[0025] According to some of these embodiments, each guide rail is a guide groove for an edge of the sliding shutter member, the guide groove being formed of a base and two extensions extending substantially parallel to each other from the base, a first extension, called the fixing extension, being rigidly fixed to the plate and a second extension, called the free extension, extending opposite said fixing extension and having a width less than the width of said fixing extension. In these embodiments, said free extension has a free edge extending recessed relative to the free edge of said fixing extension. In these embodiments, said fixing extension has holes for receiving rivets for fixing the guide rail to the plate. In these embodiments, access for a riveting tool is facilitated by the recess of said free extension. This makes attaching the guide rail to the platform easier.
[0026] According to certain embodiments, the rigid rear shelf includes at least one stop rail for the sliding shutter member against the stop rail in the second position of the shutter member. Guidance of the sliding shutter member is ensured along the entire length of its stroke, and acoustic insulation is optimized due to the use of the guide and stop rails.
[0027] According to certain embodiments, the platform is formed in two parts articulated with respect to each other, including a front part (along the -X direction of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame) and a rear part (along the +X direction of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame), the rear part pivoting with respect to the front part along a pivot axis parallel to a larger dimension of each of the front and rear parts of the platform, in particular along a pivot axis parallel to the Y axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame, and in that the front part has said through opening. In these embodiments, the through opening of the platform extends in the front part (along the -X direction of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame) of the platform in such a way as to be traversed by a vertical axis passing through a larger height separating a lower part of the luggage compartment(s) and an inner face of the roof delimiting the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The transport of bulky and elongated solid object(s) in the luggage compartment(s) of a motor vehicle and / or the transport of bulky and elongated solid object(s) requiring that they be held in a vertical or oblique position is made possible.
[0028] According to certain embodiments, the tray has a base and at least one reinforcement—in particular a peripheral reinforcement—extending in relief from the base, the through-opening being an opening that passes through the base of the tray. In these embodiments, the rigidity of the rear rigid shelf conferred by the peripheral reinforcements in relief from the base of the tray is not substantially affected by the through-opening.
[0029] The invention extends to a motor vehicle comprising a rigid rear shelf according to the invention. Thus, the invention facilitates the transport, in the luggage compartment(s) of the motor vehicle, of bulky and elongated solid object(s) and / or bulky and elongated solid object(s) requiring to be held in a vertical or oblique position. The invention facilitates such transport while respecting the acoustic performance and perceived quality of the motor vehicle. Brief description of the drawings

[0039] [Fig.9] The [Fig.9] is an illustration of a direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system classically used in automotive design. Description of the implementation methods
[0040] A rigid rear shelf 1 of a motor vehicle 30 according to the invention, in a rear-view perspective shown in [Fig. 1], has a platform 2 extending in a principal plane 10 that is substantially horizontal at the rear of the motor vehicle 30. The platform 2 comprises a rear portion 6 (along the X-axis of a direct orthonormal coordinate system XYZ) as shown in [Fig. 9]) extending near the rear tailgate of the vehicle 30. The rear part 6 is pivotally mounted about a pivoting axis 7 of the rear part 6, parallel to the Y-axis of the direct orthonormal coordinate system XYZ, particularly when the rear tailgate of the vehicle 30 is opened or closed. The platform 2 includes a front part 5 (along the X-axis of a direct orthonormal coordinate system XYZ as shown in [Fig. 9]) interposed between the rear part 6 and the backrest of the rear seat of the vehicle 30. The front and rear parts 5 and 6 of the platform 2 may be thermoformed parts 5, 6. They may be made of any rigid material, in particular any thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer material. They may have a surface finish, in particular a smooth, rough, or felt-covered top surface. In the embodiment shown, the front portion 5 of the platform 2 is fixed in place when the tailgate is opened and closed. Of course, nothing prevents the front portion 5 and the rear portion 6 from being removable, either independently or together, i.e., extractable from the motor vehicle and / or the luggage compartment(s). The front portion 5 of the platform 2 has a substantially flat base 20 and a peripheral reinforcement 21 extending around the flat base 20 and raised relative to the base 20. Advantageously, the base 20 and the peripheral reinforcement 21 are formed as a single piece by hot forming. The peripheral reinforcement 21 is shaped to give the platform 2 the rigidity required so that the platform 2 and the rigid rear shelf 1 can support a moderate load, for example a mass load of less than 10 Kg, in particular at most in the order of 7 to 8 Kg.The front portion 5 of the platform 2 has an opening 3 that passes through the base 20 of the front portion 5 of the platform 2 and opens onto the two main faces (upper and lower) of the base 20. The opening 3 has an edge 4 that closes upon itself, so that the through opening 3 is entirely bordered by the base 20. The through opening 3 allows for the passage of at least one elongated object with a length greater than the longest dimension of the luggage compartment 24 covered by the rigid rear shelf 1. The edge 4 of the through opening 3 can be of any shape and size chosen to preserve the mechanical strength properties of the rigid rear shelf 1. For example, the edge 4 can be circular, ovoid, or polygonal. In some embodiments, the through opening 3 has a longer dimension extending along the Y-axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system. The edge can be rectangular in shape, with a length between 15 cm and 25 cm, in particular around 20 cm, and a width between 5 cm and 15 cm, in particular around 10 cm.
[0041] Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4 represent a first embodiment of a tablet 1 rear according to the invention in which the front part 5 of the platform 2 comprises a A shutter 8 is adapted to cover / uncover the through-opening 3 by pivoting between a closed position 22 and an open position 23 of the shutter 8. In the embodiment shown in [Fig. 1], the through-opening 3 is rectangular, and the shutter 8 is also rectangular and slightly larger than the dimensions of the through-opening 3. The shutter 8 can be made of any rigid material, in particular at least one polymer material such as a thermoplastic and / or a thermosetting material, for example, polypropylene. In the embodiment shown, the shutter 8 is a pivoting shutter 11 between the aforementioned closed and open positions 22 and 23, such that the shutter 11 completely covers the through-opening 3 in the closed position 22.The front portion 5 of the plate 2 is provided with a hinge 12 for securing the pivoting shutter element 11 to the base 20, and allowing the pivoting shutter element 11 to pivot relative to the base 20 about an axis 9 parallel to the plane of the base 20. Advantageously, the hinge 12 is fixed to the base 20 by means of rivets 13. Any other means of securing the pivoting shutter element 11 to the base 20 is possible, provided that it allows the pivoting shutter element 11 to pivot relative to the base 20 about the axis 9 parallel to the plane of the base 20. The pivoting shutter element 11 is provided with a hook 14 rigidly mounted to the pivoting shutter element 11 and extending over an edge, referred to as the hook edge 27, of the shutter element 11. pivoting, opposite longitudinally to an edge, called hinge edge 28, supporting the joining hinge 12.The hook 14 is arranged to engage with a hole 26 formed in the base 20 by clipping, and to reversibly hold and / or lock the pivoting shutter 11 in the closed position 22. Any other reversible locking method for the pivoting shutter in the closed position 22 is possible. This could be a reversible locking method consisting of two complementary elements, for example, of the hook and loop type (Velcro®). It could also be a magnetic locking method. However, there is nothing to prevent the rigid rear shelf from being designed without specific reversible locking methods, as the pivoting shutter will remain in the closed position due to gravity and the mass of the pivoting shutter 11.
[0042] In the embodiment shown in [Fig. 2], the pivoting shutter element 11 is in the closed position 22. In this position, acoustic transparency is optimal. In the closed position 22 of the pivoting shutter element 11, the hook 14 extends partially into the luggage compartment 24 and is elastically returned to a position that retains the pivoting shutter element 11 in the closed position 22. The portion of the hook 14 extending into the compartment 24 The baggage compartment(s) can be moved into an unlocked position by personnel accessing the baggage compartment 24. However, there is nothing to prevent the hook 14 from being unclipped and extracted from the hole 26 formed in the base 20 by simply pulling upwards on the hook 14.
[0043] In the detail of the rigid rear shelf 1 shown in [Fig. 3], the pivoting shutter element 11 is in the closed position 22, in which the pivoting shutter element 11 covers the opening edge 4 of the through opening 3. The shutter element 11 is pivotally fixed about the pivot axis 9 on the base 20 by means of a hinge 12 rigidly mounted to the hinge edge 28 of the pivoting shutter element 8,11 by three rivets 13 and rigidly mounted to the base 20 by three rivets 13. The hook 14 is rigidly mounted to the hook edge 27 of the pivoting shutter element 8,11 by two rivets 13. The rivets 13 may be made of any material, for example, at least one polymer material.
[0044] A cross-sectional view along a plane orthogonal to the plane of the base 20 and passing through the axis AA of [Fig. 3] is schematically represented in Figures 4a and 4b. The pivoting obstructing element 11 is in the closed position 22 in Figure 4a and in the open position 23 in Figure 4b. In the open position 23 of the pivoting obstructing element 8, 11, the through opening can receive an elongated object placed in the luggage compartment 24 without requiring the removal of the rigid rear shelf 1 or the front part 5 of the rigid rear shelf 1.
[0045] A second embodiment of a rigid rear shelf 1 is shown in Figures 5, 6, 7, and 8, in which the front portion 5 of the shelf 2 includes a shutter 8 adapted to cover / uncover the through-opening 3 by sliding relative to the base 20 between a closed position 22 and an open position 23 of the sliding shutter 8, 15. In the embodiment shown, the through-opening 3 is rectangular, and the sliding shutter 8, 15 is rectangular and slightly larger than the through-opening 3, so that the sliding shutter 8, 15 completely covers the through-opening 3 in the closed position 22. In [Fig.5], the sliding shutter 8.15 organ is in the open position 23 and in [Fig.6], the sliding shutter 8.15 organ is in the closed position 22.The front portion 5 of the plate 2 is provided with at least two guide rails 16 for the sliding shutter element 11, which is substantially parallel to the base 20. The guide rails 16 may be made of any suitable material. In some embodiments, the guide rails 16 are made of at least one polymer, thermoplastic, or thermosetting material. Advantageously, each rail 16 is fixed to the base 20 by means of rivets 13. Any other means of securing the sliding shutter element 11 to the base 20 is possible. The sliding shutter element 11 is equipped with a gripping pin 31 adapted to allow an individual to move the sliding shutter element 11 relative to the base 20, the movement of the sliding shutter element 11 being guided by the rails 16. The guide rails 16 shown are friction guide rails of the sliding shutter element 11 on the rails 16. However, nothing prevents the guidance of the sliding shutter element 11 from being assisted by bearings.
[0046] A detail of an embodiment of a rigid rear shelf 1 with a through opening 3 and a sliding shutter 8, 15 is illustrated in Figures 7, 8a and 8b. The base 20 of the front part 5 is provided with two parallel guide rails 16 for the sliding shutter 11 and a stop rail 29 orthogonal to the guide rails 16. Each guide rail 16 consists of a flat base 19 and two extensions 17, 18 extending parallel to each other from the flat base 19, orthogonal to this flat base 19 and spaced apart to provide a receiving space for the sliding shutter 8, 15. One of the extensions, called fixing extension 17, extends into contact with the base 20 and is held together with the base 20 by a plurality of rivets 13. The other extension, called free extension 18, is held at a distance from said fixing extension 17 by the flat bottom 19.The said fixing extension 17 has, according to a plurality of straight transverse sections of the guide rail 16 which includes it - in particular according to any straight transverse section of the guide rail 16 which includes it - a width greater than the width of the said free extension 18. According to these embodiments, access for a riveting tool of the rail 16 on the base 20 during the mounting of the guide rails 16 on the rigid rear shelf 1 is therefore facilitated.
[0047] In the second embodiment shown in Figures 5, 6, 7, 8a and 8b, the position of the sliding shutter 11 between a fully closed position 22 and a fully open position can be precisely adjusted to the dimensions (width or thickness) of the elongated object to be placed in the luggage compartment 24. In this embodiment, the acoustic transparency of the vehicle 30 is optimized.
[0048] A cross-sectional view along a plane orthogonal to the principal plane of the base 20 and passing through the axis BB of [Fig. 7] is schematically shown in Figures 8a and a cross-sectional view along the axis CC of [Fig. 7] is schematically shown in Figures 8b, the sliding obstructing element 11 being in the closed position 22 in Figure 4a and in the open position 23 in Figure 4b. In the open position 23 of the pivoting shutter element 8,11, the through opening can receive an elongated object placed in the luggage compartment 24 without requiring the removal of the rigid rear shelf 1 or the front part 5 of the rigid rear shelf 1.
[0049] Fig. 9 is an illustration of a direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system classically used in automotive design (according to standard no. 0100112), in which the X axis designates the front-to-back longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle, oriented towards the rear of the motor vehicle, the Y axis designates the transverse direction and is oriented towards the right of the motor vehicle, the Z axis designates the vertical direction, and is oriented upwards towards the motor vehicle, the wheels of the motor vehicle being oriented downwards.
