Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a monitoring device (20) for a kinematic chain (CH1) of a motorized system (SY1), this chain comprising first and second rotating shafts (2, 4) coupled by a transmission unit (6). The device comprises: a second transmission unit with a first rotating member; a second rotating member fixed to the second shaft (4), the rotating members being mounted opposite each other, the first shaft (2) driving the first member in rotation by a ratio K2 such that the first and second members operate a synchronous rotational movement as long as the kinematic chain (CH1) is functional; a proximity sensor (22) arranged on the first or second rotating member; and a reference element (24) arranged on the other of the rotating members; said sensor generating an output signal (SG1) depending on whether the reference element is detected or not.
