AI Technical Summary
Traditional signage systems are fixed in location and lack the ability to provide targeted visual displays based on real-time environmental data or external inputs, limiting their adaptability and functionality.
A display projector mounted on a robot that projects visuals in coordination with the robot's activities, triggered by environmental data or external sources, allowing projections on various surfaces and enabling multiple robots to collaborate.
Enables dynamic, adaptive visual displays that enhance the robot's functionality and complement its operations by utilizing real-time environmental data or external inputs.
Abstract
Description
This invention relates to a display projector fixed to a robot (or other automated vehicle (‘the robot’) activated by the robot from the environment in which it is operating. Background Traditionally signage (electronic display boards and billboards) are fixed at location. The robot visualises or projects the display through software programming of the robot. This invention brings specific targeted display visualisation through programming of the robot from data gathered by its sensors. Statement of Invention A display projector is mounted to the robot. The display projection is initiated in coordination with the robot activities. The projection displayed can be continuous or intermittent, silent or with words or sounds and is triggered by the robot from data gathered by the robot itself from the environment in which it operates (Figure 1) or through transmission of data from an external source to the robot (Figure 2). The display projection from the robot can be directed upon any surface such as the ground, wall, water, ceiling, moving object or can appear as a hologram. Any number of robots can also combine to display the projection. The invention can be used to complement or augment the function of the robot itself. 12 08 25
Claims
1. (Independent apparatus claim)A robotic display system comprising:(a) a mobile robot configured to operate in an environment;(b) one or more sensors mounted on the robot and configured to collect data from the environment;(c) a display projector mounted on the robot; and(d) a control system operatively coupled to the sensors and the display projector, wherein the control system is configured to activate the display projector to project a visual display based on:(i) data gathered by the sensors from the environment; or(ii) data received from an external source.
2. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein the visual display is projected onto a surface selected from the group consisting of: a floor, a wall, a ceiling, a body of water, a moving object, or open space as a hologram.
3. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein the display projector is configured to project text, images, video, or symbolic content.
4. (Dependent)12 08 25The system of claim 1, wherein the visual display includes an auditory component comprising sound or speech.
5. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein the activation of the display projector is coordinated with a specific activity or motion of the robot.
6. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein the display projector is configured to operate intermittently or continuously.
7. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein a plurality of robots operate in coordination to produce a combined visual display.
8. (Dependent)The system of claim 1, wherein the display is configured to augment or complement the robot’s functional tasks.A
