Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present disclosure in general relates to information systems in vehicle. More particularly, it relates to system(s) and method(s) for obstruction detection in parking of the vehicle. BACKGROUND Irregular and bad parking practices have become a pervasive issue in urban environments, particularly within parking facilities. These problematic parking behaviours include vehicles being parked outside of designated spaces, obstructing exits, and blocking access to other vehicles. Such actions lead to a cascade of inconveniences and safety hazards, affecting not only the efficiency of the parking facilities but also an overall user experience and safety. The problematic parking may also cause time delays in exiting the vehicles from the parking facilities, which adversely affect the users of the vehicle and overall traffic in a particular region. Current techniques to address the problematic parking issues typically involve manual monitoring by parking attendants or use of fixed surveillance cameras. While these existing methods provide some level of oversight, they are often inadequate for several reasons. Manual monitoring is resource-intensive and may be inconsistent, while fixed cameras have limited coverage and might miss on critical incidents. Moreover, the existing techniques do not provide real-time solutions, and the problems are only solved when they cause significant disruptions. Advances in technology have introduced more sophisticated parking management systems. However, these parking management systems do not integrate seamlessly with each other, resulting in fragmented data and inefficiencies in managing parking behaviours comprehensively. Existing parking management system lack the flexibility needed to handle the dynamic nature of parking facilities. Thus, there is a need for an improved solution that is capable of solving the aforementioned problems of conventional parking management systems. SUMMARY Though parking management systems are widely known for managing parking of vehicles in a parking facility. However, the existing solutions are not efficient in enabling drivers to smooth exit of the vehicles. Also, the existing solutions are not efficient in providing a communication channel among various other vehicles and their drivers that facilitate efficient management of parking space or facility. Therefore, there is a need for an improved system for managing parking facility that establishes a communication channel among various vehicles and their drivers that further facilitate better and smooth management of vehicles in the parking facility. Optionally, the one or more sensing units comprises at least one of: a camera, a position sensor, a RADAR, LIDAR and an ultrasonic sensor. In an example, in FIG. 2A, illustrated is the parked first vehicle 100, wherein the one or more sensing units 102, herein ultrasonic sensor, are arranged to sense the obstacles 106 around the parked first vehicle at 360 degree angles. The obstacles 106 comprises walls / curbs for which parking clearance device 104a may not take any action as the obstacles are at fixed location and are not equipped with any parking clearance device. The obstacles 106 may be sensed in different directions around the first vehicle 100. For example, in (a), the obstacle is sensed in the front direction, in (b), the obstacle is sensed in the back direction, in (c), the obstacle is sensed in both the front and the back direction and in (d), no obstacle is sensed and there is the space for the exit of the first vehicle 100. In an example, FIG. 2B shows an exemplary scenario wherein the second vehicle 200 is parked in a wrong parking 108 thus obstructing an exit way / path of the first vehicle 100. The first vehicle 100 is parked properly in the parking slot while the second vehicle 200 parked in front of the first vehicle 100 which may block / obstruct the user / driver of the first vehicle 100 from taking the first vehicle 100 out of the parking slot. Only after the detection of the wrong parking of the second vehicle 200, the parking clearance device 104a of the first vehicle 100 will become active and will start establishing the communication with the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle 200. In an example, FIG. 3A and 3B shows an exemplary scenario of detecting the obstruction by the system 100 at an angle of 90 degrees, i.e. in front direction / side and the back direction / side of the first vehicle 100 respectively. The first vehicle 100 is parked in the parking slot and the right and left side shown as occupied with other vehicles parked in other parking slots. Since the other vehicles are parked in proper parking slots and are not blocking the exit of the first vehicle 100, there is no obstacle detection in left or the right side of the first vehicle 100 and the parking clearance device 104a will not be activated. The second vehicle 200 is detected at a distance of 4m in front side of the first vehicle 100 (in FIG. 3A) and the back side of the first vehicle 100 (in FIG. 3B) and therefore may be considered as blocking the exit of the first vehicle 100. The second vehicle 200 is therefore identified as the obstructing vehicle by the processing circuitry 20a of the parking clearance device 104a. In an example, FIG. 4A and 4B shows an exemplary scenario of transmitting / sharing the parking recommendation alert 600b as the at least one notification upon detection of the second vehicle 200 as the obstructing vehicle. The obstructing vehicle is detected by the system 1000 at an angle of 90 degrees, in the front side (FIG. 4A) and the back side (FIG. 4B) of the first vehicle 100 respectively. In FIG. 4A and FIG. 4B, the first vehicle 100 is parked in the parking slot and the left side is occupied with other vehicle parked in other parking slot. Since the sensing unit 102 may sense the available parking slot 400a, 400b in the right side of the first vehicle 100, the parking clearance device 104a may share the notification to the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle 200 to park in the available parking slot 400a in the right side of the first vehicle 100. The recommended parking slots for the second vehicle 200 is 400a when the second vehicle 200 is blocking from the front side and 400b when the second vehicle 200 is blocking from the back side. In FIG. 4B, the first vehicle 100 is parked in the parking slot and the left side is occupied with other vehicle parked in other parking slot. Since the sensing unit 102 may sense the available parking slot 400a in the right side of the first vehicle 100, the parking clearance device 104a may share the notification to the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle 200 to park in the available parking slot 400a in the right side of the first vehicle 100. In an example, in an example, FIG. 5A and 5B shows an exemplary scenario of presence of the second vehicle 200 as in the space zone around the parking slot of the first vehicle 100. The obstructing vehicle is detected by the system 1000, when the second vehicle 200 is parked parallel to the first vehicle 100. The at least one sensing unit 102 senses or identifies the presence of the second vehicle 200 in the predefined space comprising distance below 1.5m from the first vehicle 100. Here, the sensing unit 102 comprises a side mirror ultrasonic sensor. The sensing unit 102 also identifies the blockage due to occupancy of other parking slots in front and back side of the first vehicle 100. The parking clearance device 104a of the first vehicle 100 then transmits the notification to the second vehicle 200 to move in front or back direction of the first vehicle 100 so that the first vehicle 100 may exit from the parking slot. Further, in FIG. 5B, the sensing unit 102 identifies or detects the presence of the second vehicle 200 in right side of the first vehicle 100. However, the sensing unit 102 also detects space 500a (this may also be recommended as the available parking space) in front side of the first vehicle 100, therefore the second vehicle 200 is not identified as the obstructing vehicle. Therefore, the parking clearance device 104a of the first device 100 will not transmit any notification to the second device 200 as the first vehicle may take a smooth exit via the space 500a. In an example, FIG. 6A shows broadcast of the parking occupancy message 600a and the parking recommendation alert 600b broadcasted through the first vehicle 100 and displayed over the dashboard 600 of the at least one second vehicle 200. The dashboard 600 may be communicatively coupled to the parking clearance device 104b of the at least one second vehicle 200. FIG. 6B illustrates additional details of the broadcast of the parking occupancy message 600a and the parking recommendation alert 600b displayed over the dashboard 600. In another implementation, FIG. 7A illustrates a parking clearance system 7000 for 15 establishing a communication between at least two vehicles 100, 200 from a plurality of vehicles to facilitate clearance of an obstruction detected in the space around the parking slot of at least one first vehicle 100 from the plurality of first vehicles 100, 200. The parking clearance system 7000 comprises the one or more sensing units 102 disposed at different positions on the least one first vehicle 100 of the plurality of first vehicles parked in the parking slot. The least one sensing unit 102 is arranged to generate the position information of at least one second vehicle 200 from the plurality of second vehicles parked in the predefined space around the parking slot of the at least one first vehicle 100. Details of the at least one sensing unit 102 are discussed above and hence are not repeated for the sake of brevity. The parking clearance system 7000 comprises the parking clearance device 104a for the at least one first vehicle 100. The parking clearance device 104a comprises of the User Interface 10a arranged to receive parking inputs for the at least one first vehicle 100. The processing circuitry 20a coupled to the user interface 10a is arranged to receive the parking inputs, and to receive the position information from the at least one sensing unit 102. The processing circuitry 20a is further arranged to process the position information and the parking inputs to identify the at least one second vehicle 200 as the obstructing vehicle obstructing the predefined space around the parking slot of the at least one first vehicle 100. The processing circuitry 20a is further arranged to generate the at least one notification in response to the identification of the at least one second vehicle 200 as the obstructing vehicle and establish the communication with the obstructing vehicle to transmit the generated at least one notification to the obstructing vehicle. Details of the parking clearance device 104a for the at least one first vehicle 100 are discussed above and hence are not repeated for the sake of brevity. Referring to FIG. 7B, the parking clearance system 7000 further comprises the parking clearance device 104b for the at least one second vehicle 200. The parking clearance device 104b comprises of a user interface 10b arranged to receive the parking occupancy message 600A, 600B broadcasted by the at least one first vehicle 100. The parking clearance device 104b comprises a processing circuitry 20b coupled to the user interface 10b and is arranged to establish the communication of the at least one second vehicle 200 with the at least one first vehicle 100 and receive the at least one notification from the at least one first vehicle 100. The at least one notification is received in response to the identification of the at least one second vehicle 200 as the obstructing vehicle obstructing the predefined space around the parking slot of the at least one first vehicle 100. FIG. 7B illustrates the established communication between the parking clearance device 104b of at the at least one second vehicle 200 and the parking clearance device 104a of the at least one first vehicle 200. The communication may also be established between the user A of the at least one first vehicle 100 and the user B of the at least one second vehicle 100 after receiving the request for establishing the communication from the user A for which the user B provides the consent. In an example, the parking occupancy message 600a comprises of the alert to vacate the predefined space and / or the parking recommendation alert (600b) with the preset exit time of the first vehicle (100) from the parking slot. Optionally, the processing circuitry 20b is arranged to: receive a request from the at least one first vehicle 100 to establish the communication between the second vehicle 200 and the at least one first vehicle 100; identify a user A of the at least one first vehicle 100 as a registered user in a list of users of the plurality of first vehicles, wherein the identification is of use to establish the communication between the at least one first vehicle 100 and the second vehicle 200; wherein the communication between the at least one first vehicle 100 and the second vehicle 200 is established by using a preselected communication Protocol. In an example, the communication is established between at least one of: the parking clearance device 104a of the at least one first vehicle 100 and the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle 200; and / or a user equipment of the user A of the at least one first vehicle 100 and a user equipment of a user B of the obstructing vehicle via the parking clearance device 104a of the at least one first vehicle 100 and the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle 200. In an example, the processing circuitry 20b is arranged to: receive the alert to vacate the predefined space around the parking slot of the at least one first vehicle 100, as the least one notification over at least one of a dashboard 600 of the second device 200 and / or a user equipment of the user B of the second vehicle 200; and / or receive a parking recommendation alert 600b as the least one notification, wherein the parking recommendation alert 600b is of use to facilitate parking of the second vehicle 200 in an available parking slot 400a,400b,500a. in an example, the processing circuitry 20b is arranged to: transmit, a parking vacation notification to the at least one first vehicle 100 upon receipt of the at least one notification, wherein the parking vacation notification is of use to confirm vacation of the predefined space around the parking slot of the at least first vehicle 100, by the second vehicle 200. In an example, detailed working of the parking clearance system 7000 will now be explained in FIG. 8A, 8B and 8C. FIG. 8A illustrates case 1 800a, where the parking clearance system 7000 establishes the communication between the first vehicle 100 and the at least second vehicle 200 (herein Car A and Car B). An engine of the at least second vehicle 200 is on and the user B is inside the at least second vehicle 200. At 802, the entry time of the first vehicle recorded by the parking clearance device 104a is 10am and the exit time set by the user A is at 5pm, step 812. The Car A enters in the space around the parking slot of the first vehicle at 11:00 am and exits at 2pm (step 804).Since the entry and the exit time of the car A are out of the threshold time window, the parking clearance device 104a will not be activated. The threshold time window may be customized by the user A as 60 minutes before the exit time or may be set as default by the parking clearance device 104a, i.e., at 4pm, therefore, first vehicle 100 will not communicate with the second vehicle 200. At step 806, an algorithm of transmitting the broadcast message 600a, 600b, through the parking clearance device 104a will start at 4pm (step 806). As also shown in FIG. 8A, another car B enters at 4:15 pm, the parking clearance device 104a will then establish the communication with the car B via preselected communication protocol logic, for example, BLE logic (step 808). The parking clearance device 104a will then send an auto alert (the notification) to the car B which is displayed to an owner of car B at the dashboard, to unblock an exit path of the first vehicle 100. Upon receipt of the alert, car B makes an exit at 4:30 pm (step 810). The car B may share a response notification of exit to the first vehicle 100. The first vehicle 100 now has a clear / unblocked exit path to exit the parking slot as per the set exit time. FIG. 8B illustrates case 2 800b, when the engine of the at least second vehicle 200 is off and the user B is away from the at least second vehicle 200. Entry, exit time and the threshold time window of the first vehicle 100 are recorded and set (steps 814, 818 and 824 similar to steps 802, 806 and 812 as discussed above in FIG. 8A). Car A enters and exits without receiving any notification as discussed in FIG. 8A (step 816). Now another car B enters at 3pm (again step 816). Similar to step 808 of FIG. 8A, the first communication device 100 establishes the communication with the car B, and since the engine is off and the user B is away, the first clearance device 104a will send the notification to the user B over the mobile phone (step 820). The user B may then remove the car B upon receipt of the notification (step 822). FIG. 8C illustrates case 3 800c, when the engine of the at least second vehicle 200 is off and the user B is away from the at least second vehicle 200. Steps 826 and 832 are similar to steps 814, 818 and 824 of FIG. 8B as discussed above. In case 3, the user A comes back at 5:10 pm (10 minutes later to the exit time, step 832). Car A enters at 3pm (step 828) and is parked in the predefined space around the parking slot of the first vehicle 100 and remains there till 4pm. At step 830, the first communication device 100 establishes the communication with the car B, as discussed in step 820 of FIG. 8B. Since the car B is not removed and is present in the predefined space till 5pm, the user A establishes an end-to-end communication (step 834) through his mobile device with the user B of the car B. The end-to-end communication is established in following steps: - User A connects to the parking clearance device 104a via vehicle to user communication protocol. - The parking clearance device 104a is connected via the preselected communication protocol, for example, BLE to the parking clearance device 104b of the second vehicle (car A) or the obstructing / target vehicle. - The parking clearance device 104a establishes the connection to the user B of car A via vehicle to user communication protocol. - Now the end-to-end communication is established between the user A and the user B over respective mobile devices. User A and the user B may have the communication via this channel of mobile to mobile to have to unblock each other from the exit path. The parking clearance system 7000 maintains a privacy of the details of the user A / User B, but user A / user B may be provided with an option to share personal information over the mobile to mobile communication channel established through the parking clearance system 7000. In another implementation, FIG. 9 shows a method 9000 for the system 1000 of the first vehicle 100 for detecting the obstruction in the space around the parking slot of the first vehicle 100. Characterized in that: generating at step 9002, by the at least one sensing unit 102, the position information of the at least one second vehicle 200 from a plurality of second vehicles parked in a predefined space around the parking slot of the first vehicle 100.
