Description

Electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor and detection method Technical Field

[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of pipeline pigging devices, and in particular to an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor and a detection method. Background Art

[0002] The prerequisite for pipeline operation is to achieve safe and stable transportation. Therefore, pipelines must be inspected regularly to detect problems in a timely manner and take measures to reduce risks and prevent serious accidents such as pipeline leaks and explosions.

[0003] Pipeline inspection methods include magnetic flux leakage testing, eddy current testing, and ultrasonic testing. While magnetic flux leakage testing is the most widely used and mature, it suffers from poor anti-interference capabilities and low spatial resolution. Eddy current testing can only detect surface defects due to the skin effect. Ultrasonic testing is divided into electromagnetic ultrasonic testing and piezoelectric ultrasonic testing. Piezoelectric ultrasonic testing requires a coupling medium, and while electromagnetic ultrasonic testing has strong spatial detection capabilities, it has poor surface detection capabilities. Therefore, sensors cannot simultaneously detect internal and external wall defects while detecting changes in wall thickness.

[0004] Summary of the Invention

[0005] The present application provides an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor and a detection method to solve the problem that the sensor cannot detect defects on the inner and outer walls while detecting changes in wall thickness.

[0006] A first aspect of the present application provides an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor, comprising: a first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, a second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, an electromagnetic ultrasonic coil, an eddy current coil, and an inductor coil.

[0007] The two electromagnetic ultrasonic coils are respectively connected to the bottom of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the eddy current coil is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the inductance coil includes a first inductance coil and a second inductance coil, the first inductance coil is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the eddy current coil; the first inductance coil is connected to the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the second inductance coil is located between the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the eddy current coil; the second inductance coil is connected to the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the first inductance coil is electrically connected to the second inductance coil.

[0008] The first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet are used to place the object under test in a stable magnetic field strength, reduce the impact of changes in the magnetic permeability of the object under test, and make the signal detected by the eddy current coil more stable. The eddy current coil is used to detect surface defects of the object under test. The electromagnetic ultrasonic coil is used to detect changes in the wall thickness of the object under test. The inductor coil is used to increase the detection capability of large defects. The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor adopts a combination of electromagnetic ultrasonic detection and eddy current detection to enhance the detection capability of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor. It can detect changes in the wall thickness of the object under test and the location where the wall thickness changes occur, thereby distinguishing between inner and outer wall defects and solving the problem that the sensor cannot detect inner and outer wall defects while detecting changes in wall thickness. At the same time, the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet are used to apply a stable magnetic field to the object under test, making the eddy current signal output more stable.

[0009] Optionally, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil includes any one or more combinations of a folded coil, a spiral coil, a racetrack coil, and a butterfly coil.

[0010] The return coil, the spiral coil, the racetrack coil, and the butterfly coil all have the function of reducing volume and increasing current per unit area.

[0011] Optionally, the inductor coil also includes a third inductor coil and a fourth inductor coil; the third inductor coil is arranged on the side of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet away from the first inductor coil; the fourth inductor coil is arranged on the side of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet away from the second inductor coil; the first inductor coil is electrically connected to the third inductor coil; and the second inductor coil is electrically connected to the fourth inductor coil.

[0012] When the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor is lifted off, the third inductor coil and the fourth inductor coil are combined with the first inductor coil and the second inductor coil as differential output to reduce the lift-off effect of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor.

[0013] Optionally, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil and the eddy current coil are both transceiver integrated coils.

[0014] The transceiver integrated coil can reduce signal blind areas and relatively increase signal strength.

[0015] Optionally, the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor further includes a shell; the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil, the eddy current coil and the inductor coil are all arranged inside the shell.

[0016] The shell is used to reduce the damage of external water, oil, dust, debris, etc. to the internal components of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor, thereby extending the service life.

[0017] Optionally, the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is a cylindrical structure; the end of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is connected to the inductor coil; the upper surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is an N pole; and the lower surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is an S pole.

[0018] The first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is a cylindrical structure, which not only facilitates the placement of the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil at the bottom of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, but also increases the range of magnetic field uniformity, making the magnetic field more uniform.

[0019] Optionally, the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is a cylindrical structure; the end of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is connected to the inductor coil; the upper surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is an S pole; and the lower surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is an N pole.

[0020] The second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet is a cylindrical structure, which not only facilitates the placement of the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil at the bottom of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, but also increases the range of magnetic field uniformity, making the magnetic field more uniform.

[0021] A second aspect of the present application provides an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor detection method, characterized in that it is applied to the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor described in the first aspect, and the method includes:

[0022] Place the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor close to the inner surface of the object to be measured;

[0023] driving the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil and the eddy current coil to generate electromagnetic ultrasonic signals and eddy current signals;

[0024] Acquiring an electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal, wherein the electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal is a signal induced by the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil after the electromagnetic ultrasonic signal interacts with the measured object;

[0025] determining the thickness of the object to be measured according to the electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal;

[0026] When the thickness of the object to be measured is less than a preset thickness, an eddy current induction signal is obtained, where the eddy current induction signal is a signal induced by the eddy current coil after the eddy current signal interacts with the inner surface of the object to be measured; if the amplitude of the eddy current induction signal is the same as that of the eddy current signal, the defective portion is marked on the outer surface of the object to be measured; if the amplitude of the eddy current induction signal is different from that of the eddy current signal, the defective portion is marked on the inner surface of the object to be measured.

[0027] The above method adopts a combination of electromagnetic ultrasonic detection and eddy current detection to enhance the detection capability of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor. It can detect the wall thickness change of the object being measured and the location where the wall thickness change occurs, thereby distinguishing between inner and outer wall defects and solving the problem that the sensor cannot detect inner and outer wall defects while detecting wall thickness changes.

[0028] Optionally, if the amplitudes of the eddy current induction signal and the eddy current signal are different, the method further includes:

[0029] Acquire an inductance signal induced by the inductor coil;

[0030] When the amplitude of the inductance signal is greater than a preset signal amplitude, it is marked that a large defect exists on the inner surface of the object under test;

[0031] When the amplitude of the inductance signal is less than or equal to the preset signal amplitude, it is marked that there is no large defect on the inner surface of the object under test.

[0032] The above method is based on the fact that when the inductor coil passes through a large defect, part of the magnetic flux lines will enter the air through the large defect, causing the magnetic flux in the inductor coil to change, causing the induced electromotive force to change and then output a signal greater than the preset signal amplitude, thereby judging the existence of a large defect and realizing the detection of large defects.

[0033] As can be seen from the above technical solution, the present application provides an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor and detection method. The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor includes: a first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, a second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, an electromagnetic ultrasonic coil, an eddy current coil, and an inductor coil; two electromagnetic ultrasonic coils are connected to the bottoms of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet, respectively; the eddy current coil is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the inductor coil includes a first inductor coil and a second inductor coil, the first inductor coil is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the eddy current coil; the first inductor coil is connected to the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; the second inductor coil is located between the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and the eddy current coil; the second inductor coil is connected to the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet; and the first inductor coil and the second inductor coil are electrically connected. The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor uses a combination of electromagnetic ultrasonic detection and eddy current detection to enhance the detection capability of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor. It can detect both changes in the wall thickness of the object being measured and the location of the wall thickness change, thereby distinguishing between inner and outer wall defects and solving the problem that the sensor cannot detect inner and outer wall defects simultaneously with wall thickness changes. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0039] Safe and stable pipeline transportation is a prerequisite for pipeline operation. Therefore, regular pipeline inspections are necessary. In-pipeline inspection methods include magnetic flux leakage testing (MFL), eddy current testing (EDT), and ultrasonic testing. However, MFL testing has poor interference immunity and low spatial resolution. Eddy current testing can only detect surface defects due to the skin effect. Ultrasonic testing is divided into electromagnetic ultrasonic testing and piezoelectric ultrasonic testing. Piezoelectric ultrasonic testing requires a coupling medium. While electromagnetic ultrasonic testing has strong spatial detection capabilities, it has poor surface detection capabilities. Therefore, sensors cannot simultaneously detect internal and external wall defects while detecting changes in wall thickness.

[0040] To solve the problem that the sensor cannot detect defects on the inner and outer walls while detecting changes in wall thickness, refer to Figures 1-2. Figure 1 is a structural schematic diagram of an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor; Figure 2 is a flow chart of a detection method of an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor.

[0041] Some embodiments of the present application provide an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor, comprising: a first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1, a second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2, an electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3, an eddy current coil 4 and an inductor coil.

[0042] The two electromagnetic ultrasonic coils 3 are respectively connected to the bottom of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the eddy current coil 4 is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the inductance coil includes a first inductance coil 5 and a second inductance coil 6, the first inductance coil 5 is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the eddy current coil 4; the first inductance coil 5 is connected to the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1; the second inductance coil 6 is located between the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 and the eddy current coil 4; the second inductance coil 6 is connected to the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the first inductance coil 5 and the second inductance coil 6 are electrically connected.

[0043] As shown in Figure 1, the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 are two magnets with opposite poles, and the magnets can be permanent magnets or electromagnets. The first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 magnetize the object to be measured to a saturated or near-saturated state, thereby placing the object to be measured in a stable magnetic field strength, reducing the influence of changes in the magnetic permeability of the object to be measured, and making the signal detected by the eddy current coil 4 more stable. The eddy current coil 4 is used to detect surface defects of the object to be measured. The electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 is used to detect changes in the wall thickness of the object to be measured. The inductance coil is used to increase the detection capability of large defects.

[0044] It should be understood that both the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 and the eddy current coil 4 are provided with leads for connecting to external connectors for providing excitation signals. The electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 and the eddy current coil 4 can be excited simultaneously, enabling the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor to detect both internal and external wall defects while simultaneously detecting changes in wall thickness.

[0045] The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor combines electromagnetic ultrasonic testing with eddy current testing, enhancing its detection capabilities. It can detect both changes in the wall thickness of the object being measured and the location of the change, enabling the distinction between internal and external wall defects and resolving the issue of the sensor being unable to simultaneously detect internal and external wall defects while simultaneously detecting changes in wall thickness. Simultaneously, the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 apply a stable magnetic field to the object being measured, further stabilizing the eddy current signal output.

[0046] In some embodiments, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 includes any one or more combinations of a folded coil, a spiral coil, a racetrack coil, and a butterfly coil.

[0047] The return coil, the spiral coil, the racetrack coil, and the butterfly coil all have the function of reducing volume and increasing current per unit area.

[0048] In some embodiments, the inductor coil also includes a third inductor coil 7 and a fourth inductor coil 8; the third inductor coil 7 is arranged on the side of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 away from the first inductor coil 5; the fourth inductor coil 8 is arranged on the side of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 away from the second inductor coil 6; the first inductor coil 5 is electrically connected to the third inductor coil 7; the second inductor coil 6 is electrically connected to the fourth inductor coil 8.

[0049] It should be understood that the first inductor 5, the second inductor 6, the third inductor 7 and the fourth inductor 8 all include a positive terminal of the inductor and a negative terminal of the inductor; the electrical connection method is that the positive terminals of the inductor are electrically connected to each other; and the negative terminals of the inductor are electrically connected to each other.

[0050] When the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor is lifted off, the third inductor coil 7 and the fourth inductor coil 8 are combined with the first inductor coil 5 and the second inductor coil 6 to serve as differential output to reduce the lift-off effect of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor.

[0051] In some embodiments, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 and the eddy current coil 4 are both transceiver integrated coils.

[0052] It should be understood that the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 includes an electromagnetic ultrasonic transmitting coil and an electromagnetic ultrasonic receiving coil, and the number of each of the electromagnetic ultrasonic transmitting coil and the electromagnetic ultrasonic receiving coil is greater than one; the eddy current coil 4 includes an eddy current transmitting coil and an eddy current receiving coil, and the number of each of the eddy current transmitting coil and the eddy current receiving coil is greater than one. The integrated transmitting and receiving coil can reduce signal blind spots and relatively increase signal strength.

[0053] In some embodiments, the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor further includes a shell; the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1, the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2, the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3, the eddy current coil 4 and the inductor coil are all arranged inside the shell.

[0054] The housing is used to reduce damage to the internal components of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor from external water, oil, dust, debris, etc., thereby extending its service life. In some embodiments, the housing is made of a metal material. The metal housing has impact resistance and anti-interference properties, thereby reducing the impact of external electromagnetic interference on the measurement during the detection process.

[0055] In some embodiments, an interface is provided on the housing, and the interface is electrically connected to the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 and the eddy current coil 4 .

[0056] In some embodiments, the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is a cylindrical structure; the end of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is connected to the inductor coil; the upper surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is an N pole; and the lower surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is an S pole.

[0057] The first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is a cylindrical structure, which not only facilitates the placement of the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 at the bottom of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 , but also increases the range of magnetic field uniformity, making the magnetic field more uniform.

[0058] In some embodiments, the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is a cylindrical structure; the end of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is connected to the inductor coil; the upper surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is an S pole; and the lower surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is an N pole.

[0059] The second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is a cylindrical structure, which not only facilitates the placement of the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 at the bottom of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 but also increases the range of magnetic field uniformity, making the magnetic field more uniform.

[0060] In some other embodiments, the upper surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is an S pole; the lower surface of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 is an N pole, and correspondingly, the upper surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is an N pole; the lower surface of the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 is an S pole.

[0061] Some embodiments of the present application further provide an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor detection method, characterized in that it is applied to the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor described in the above embodiment, as shown in FIG2 , and the method includes:

[0062] S100: placing the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor close to the inner surface of the object to be measured;

[0063] S200: driving the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 and the eddy current coil 4 to generate an electromagnetic ultrasonic signal and an eddy current signal;

[0064] S300: Acquire an electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal, where the electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal is a signal induced by the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 after the electromagnetic ultrasonic signal interacts with the measured object;

[0065] S400: Determine the thickness of the object to be measured according to the electromagnetic ultrasonic induction signal;

[0066] S500: When the thickness of the measured object is less than a preset thickness, an eddy current induction signal is obtained, where the eddy current induction signal is a signal induced by the eddy current coil 4 after the eddy current signal interacts with the inner surface of the measured object;

[0067] S510: If the amplitude of the eddy current induction signal is the same as the amplitude of the eddy current signal, marking the defect location on the outer surface of the object under test;

[0068] S520: If the amplitudes of the eddy current induction signal and the eddy current signal are different, marking the defect location on the inner surface of the object to be measured.

[0069] The above method adopts a combination of electromagnetic ultrasonic detection and eddy current detection to enhance the detection capability of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor. It can detect the wall thickness change of the object being measured and the location where the wall thickness change occurs, thereby distinguishing between inner and outer wall defects and solving the problem that the sensor cannot detect inner and outer wall defects while detecting wall thickness changes.

[0070] It should be understood that the object to be measured can be a pipeline, and the pipe wall can be used as part of the magnetic circuit of the electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet and be saturated magnetized. After magnetization, the relative magnetic permeability of the pipe wall is reduced to below 100 to eliminate the magnetic permeability changes caused by the pipe material itself. A current is passed through the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3 to excite ultrasound near the surface of the pipe wall to measure the thickness of the pipe wall. The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor can be mounted on a carrier and placed in the pipeline. Due to the front and rear pressure difference, the equipment moves forward to perform pipeline inspection. When the eddy current coil 4 passes over the inner wall defect, the eddy current induction signal changes. When the eddy current coil 4 passes over the outer wall defect or does not pass through the defect, the eddy current induction signal does not change. Combined with the electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3, the detection of thinning of the inner and outer walls and large defects can be achieved.

[0071] In some embodiments, if the amplitude of the eddy current induction signal is different from the amplitude of the eddy current signal, as shown in FIG2 , the method further includes:

[0072] S521: Acquire an inductance signal induced by the inductor coil;

[0073] S522: When the amplitude of the inductance signal is greater than a preset signal amplitude, marking that a large defect exists on the inner surface of the object under test;

[0074] S523: When the amplitude of the inductance signal is less than or equal to the preset signal amplitude, mark that there is no large defect on the inner surface of the object under test.

[0075] It should be understood that the large defect includes a through hole. The above method is based on the fact that when the inductor coil passes through a large defect, some magnetic flux lines will enter the air through the large defect, causing the magnetic flux in the inductor coil to change, causing the induced electromotive force to change, and then outputting a signal greater than a preset signal amplitude. This determines the presence of a large defect and achieves detection of the large defect.

[0076] It can be seen from the above technical solution that the embodiment of the present application provides an electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor and a detection method, wherein the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor includes: a first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1, a second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2, an electromagnetic ultrasonic coil 3, an eddy current coil 4 and an inductor coil; the two electromagnetic ultrasonic coils 3 are respectively connected to the bottom of the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the eddy current coil 4 is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the inductor coil includes a first inductor coil 5 and a second inductor coil 6, the first inductor coil 5 is located between the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1 and the eddy current coil 4; the first inductor coil 5 is connected to the first electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 1; the second inductor coil 6 is located between the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2 and the eddy current coil 4; the second inductor coil 6 is connected to the second electromagnetic ultrasonic magnet 2; the first inductor coil 5 is electrically connected to the second inductor coil 6. The electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor adopts a combination of electromagnetic ultrasonic detection and eddy current detection to enhance the detection capability of the electromagnetic ultrasonic eddy current composite sensor. It can detect both the change in wall thickness of the object being measured and the location where the wall thickness change occurs, thereby distinguishing between inner and outer wall defects and solving the problem that the sensor cannot detect inner and outer wall defects while detecting wall thickness changes.
