Methods for treating Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

Abstract

A human neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonist for use in a method of treating Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP). The FcRn antagonist can comprise a variant Fc region comprising amino acids, Y252, T254, E256, K433 and F434. The Fc region can also comprise Y436. The FcRn antagonist can be Efgartigimod. The FcRn antagonist can be administered at a dose of 800 mg to about 1200 mg. The FcRn antagonist can be administered subcutaneously. The FcRn antagonist can be administered once weekly. The FcRn antagonist can be administered for at least 12 weeks. The subject to be treated can be diagnosed with CIDP according to EFNS / PNS 2010 diagnostic criteria, can have an adjusted INCAT score of 2 or more, or can have an I-RODS centile metric score of 10 or more. The subject can be treatment naïve. The subject can have previously received steroid treatment. The subject can have previously received IVIg or SCIg treatment.
