A computer-implemented method of storing data, wherein the method is performed by a storage provider 302 and comprises: receiving a request, from a first user 304a, to store a data item; submitting a commitment transaction to a blockchain network 106, wherein the commitment transaction comprises a commitment of the data item; storing and / or publishing the data item and / or the commitment of the data item; and providing, to the first user 304a, a storage proof proving that the data item and / or the commitment of the data item has been accepted by the storage provider 302 for storage.
