Abstract
150 mg / mL omalizumab formulation for use in a method of treating a patient with of one or more of: allergic asthma; chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps; chronic spontaneous urticaria; nasal polyps; food allergy; moderate to severe persistent asthma in patients with a positive skin test or in vitro reactivity to a perennial aeroallergen and symptoms inadequately controlled with inhaled 5 corticosteroids, wherein the omalizumab is administered subcutaneously by a syringe. Omalizumab formulation is prefilled as 0.5, 1 and a new 2 mL volume in a new prefilled syringe (Fig.6), said syringe having improved properties over the prior art syringe, such as: a higher gauge, increased inner diameter and reduced break loose force. Overall, the new prefilled syringes offer improved patient convenience and experience: fewer injections may be necessary to meet a dose requirement (Fig.17), also meaning a lower chance of an injection site reaction; expelling times are reduced (Fig.16); and injection pain is reduced.
