Abstract
Description
This invention is an all-in-one multi-functional early learning educational toy for early learners learning their alphabet (both upper case and lower-case letters), phonics, reading, spelling, numbers, and mathematics which can be used for many years. Children who are learning their alphabet, phonics, reading, spelling, and mathematics will usually have an early learning toy to assist them in each of these categories. With the alphabet customers usually must choose to buy an ABC board with just upper-case letters or lower-case letters, then another board to learn their numbers. As children get older the task of reading, spelling and mathematics must change too, and so another early learning toy will be purchased. To overcome the problem of having to purchase multiple different early learning toys I have created the all-in-one multi-functional ABC Math Box that can assist children in their learning of the alphabet for both upper case and lower-case letters, phonics, spelling, reading, numbers and mathematics, due to the design, and the ability to be able to store multiple different thin cuboid learning blocks for each of the early learning categories outlined. Lastly one of the unique and key features of the ABC Math Box is that it is designed to let children learn through matching using segments, thus allowing each child to move at their own pace. The invention will now be described solely by the way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1: Shows the ABC Math Box sitting on its left side (please refer to Figure 5 to see left side of ABC Math Box). Looking at Figure 1 staring at the far left, you can see five cuboid spaces going down which is equally divided. Here in each part, the early learners will be able to store multiple thin cuboid learning blocks in them after completing their task. Please note that the five-cuboid storage areas are not hollow and there is a floor space to hold the blocks. Next to the five cuboid storage spaces are the five slanted rectangular areas. Next to this are the five flat faced rectangular areas. It is on the slanted and flat faced rectangular areas where children can perfectly place thin cuboid blocks to assist in their early learning of the alphabet for both uppercase and lower-case letters, phonics, spelling, reading, numbers and mathematics Figure 2: Shows the underneath part of the ABC Math Box. This is how it should naturally sit. From this angle you can see the draw storage compartment which will contain all the thin cuboid learning blocks for the alphabet, both upper case and lower-case letters, phonics, spelling, reading, numbers, and mathematics. The semi-circle on the draw will be used as a handle for pulling and pushing the draw in and out. Figure 7: Shows the overall outlook and function of the ABC Math Box. Here you can see the five cuboid storage compartments for the thin learning blocks which was mentioned in Figure 1. The slanted rectangle area which is divided into 5 is where the young learners can perfectly fit, slide and place the thin cuboid learning blocks. There are also five flat faced rectangular areas where the thin cuboid learning blocks can also be placed. All the thin cuboid learning blocks can be stored in the draw. The semi-circle on the draw is where young learners will be able to pull out the draw and push it back in. I will give an example to illustrate Figure 7, and how the ABC Math Box works for learning the alphabet in segments, by being able to match and recognise uppercase and lower-case letters. First children can open the draw and place the capital |A|B|C|D|E| blocks on the slanted rectangular area. Children can then match the lower-case letters to the corresponding uppercase letters by placing the | a | b | c | d | e | letter blocks on the flat faced rectangular area. The blocks can then be collected and placed back into the draw or placed in the cuboid storage areas behind the slanted rectangular area. In this example we worked using all the segments. The same process can also be done one by one allowing young learners to take more time and work in a different way. For example, starting with the upper case |A| on the slanted rectangular area then matching the lower case | a | on the flat face area. Then moving onto | B | | b |, | C| | c |, | D | |d |and | E | |e |. Children work at different speeds and in different ways. The ABC Math box has been created to let children work at their own speed and in their own way. Because the ABC Math Box has a large draw and capacity for storing the thin cuboid blocks, there will be a variety of learning blocks which can be used for the alphabet, phonics, spelling, reading, numbersand mathematical learning.
Claims
1. The ABC Math Box is an all-in-one multi-functional early learning educational toy. It will focus on utilising the five slanted rectangular and five flat rectangular areas, to allow children to work in segments matching thin cuboid blocks for learning their alphabet (uppers case and lower-case letters), phonics, spelling, reading, numbers, and mathematics.
2. The ABC Math Box is an all-in-one multi-functional early learning educational toy according to claim 1, in which the nature of a box design allows there to be a draw that can store a variety of thin cuboid learning blocks for different levels of early learning education. There are also multiple cuboid storage sections which can store the thin cuboid letter blocks.
3. Utilising the five slanted rectangular and five flat rectangular areas, to allow children to work in segments matching thin cuboid blocks for learning their alphabet (uppers case and lower-case letters), according to claim 1, by which thin upper-case letter blocks stored in the draw can be placed on the slanted rectangular area of the boxe.g., letters |A|B|C|D|E|. The lower-case letters |a|b|c|d|e| also stored in the draw can be placed on the flat rectangular area of the box. Therefore, matching and learning of the alphabet (upper case and lower case) takes place in segments.
4. Utilising the five slanted rectangular and five fiat rectangular areas, to allow children to work in segments matching thin cuboid blocks for learning their phonics according to claim 1, by which thin cuboid blocks with pictures and spelling will be stored in the draw. For example, a picture of an ant with the spelling 'Ant'. Phonics practice example, Letter | A | (short vowel sound -- se) is placed on the flat rectangular area, and the thin cuboid picture block of an ant with the spelling |Ant| is placed on the slanted rectangular area. 'A' (short vowel sound - S3). Ant. Thus, matching of the letter phonics to a picture and word takes place in segments.
5. Utilising the five slanted rectangular and five fiat rectangular areas, to allow children to work in segments matching thin cuboid blocks for learning their spelling, reading, according to claim 1, by which thin cuboid blocks with pictures and spelling will be stored in the draw. For example, a picture of a bed with the spelling of 'Bed'. Spelling and reading example: Place the thin cuboid picture block of a bed with the spelling of | Bed | on the slanted rectangular area. Directly under on the flat rectangular area you can place the upper case | B | followed by the lower case | e | and | d | to spell the word 'Bed' and read the word 'Bed'. Therefore, matching and learning how to spell and read takes place in segments.
6. Utilising the five slanted rectangular and five flat rectangular areas, to allow children to work in segments matching thin cuboid blocks for learning their reading, numbers, according to claim 1, in which thin cuboid blocks with the spelling of the numbers and numbers will be stored in the draw. Numbers 11121314151can be placed on theslanted rectangular area and spelling of the numbers | one | two | three | four | five | canbe placed underneath on the flat rectangular area. Thus matching, reading, and learning numbers takes place in segments.

For example, a thin cuboid picture block of |2 x 3 =| can be placed on the slanted rectangular area. Because there are five segments on the box you can match the numbers and symbols 12 |x| 31 = | 6| or the word number blocks | two | times | three | equals | six | directly under on the flat rectangular area. Once again matching, reading and mathematics is taking place in segments.
