Description

This invention relates to a security system especially, although not exclusively, to the use on installations, such as perimeter guards, like fencing, used in the building and construction industry. In the building and construction industry, it is common practice to provide temporary fence panels around the perimeter of an area under construction for health and safety, and to assist in avoiding criminal activity, such as theft. Currently, closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras may be installed on poles attached to the fencing panels. Such cameras have single lenses and point in a single direction. The cameras are usually hard-wired with a network and for power, making them susceptible to their wires being cut, thus disabling the system. Furthermore, the current systems require an on-site video recording device and other hardware to view the images. The present invention seeks to provide a security system which may be connected to a fence encompassing an area of concern in which the foregoing problems are at least mitigated. According to this invention there is provided a security system arranged to be connected to a perimeter guard encompassing an area of concern, said system including a casing which houses a first forward-facing camera, a second sideways-facing camera and a third sideways-facing camera viewing in substantially the opposite direction to said second camera, each of said first, second and third cameras being associated with a respective passive infrared (PIR) detector and at least one illumination means, a transmitter arranged to transmit at least video signals to a remote receiver, and an integral power source arranged to power the aforesaid electrical components. In a preferred embodiment, said illumination means comprises six infrared (IR) lights. Advantageously, the power source is formed by at least one of a battery and a solar cell. Preferably, the system includes artificial intelligence (AI) motion detection capable of triggering an alert for transmission by the transmitter to the receiver. Conveniently, said alert is transmitted via SMS and / or email. Advantageously, said alert is in the form of a video and / or audio signal transmitted to the receiver over a 4G network. Conveniently, the receiver is a Cloud database. Preferably, the casing includes fixing means for attaching the system to a fence. Conveniently, the fixing means is at least one clamp arranged to be attached to a pole of the fence. The invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which, Figure 1 shows a top view of a security system in accordance with this invention, Figure 2 shows a front view of the system in accordance with this invention, Figure 3 shows a rear view of the system of this invention, Figure 4 shows an underside view of the system of this invention, Figure 5 shows one end view of the system in accordance with this invention, the other opposite end being similar, and Figure 6 shows, in schematic form, electrical connections of the system. In the Figures, like reference numerals denote like parts. The system shown in Figures 1-5 has a casing 1 for the housing components of the system, the casing may be made from metal, plastics or fibreglass. Mounted on top of the casing 1 is at least one solar panel 2. Referring in particular to Figure 2, the front has a sub-assembly in a camera holder 4 carrying a passive infrared (PIR) detector 5, which may include artificial intelligence (AI) motion detection, a 4-K camera 6, and, on each side and below the camera are pairs of infrared (IR) lights 7. The camera holder 4 incorporates a printed circuit main processing board 29 (shown in Figure 6) interconnecting the PIR 5, IR lights 7 and camera 6. Secured beneath the casing 1 is an aerial 9 and the casing is provided with a pair of clamps 8 for attachment to a fencing pole. As shown in Figure 3, a rear surface of the casing 1 is provided with a further solar panel 10. On the underside of the case 1, as shown in Figure 4 is mounted a power switch 14, a SIM card slot 15 for accepting a SIM card and a secure SD card slot 16 for internal video / audio signal storage of signals received from the cameras. Referring to Figure 5, each opposing end of the casing 1 is provided with a case holder 4, PIR 5, 4-K camera 6 and three pairs of six IR lights 7. Referring now to Figure 6, the solar panels 2 and 10 are connected to a power generating circuit 27 via the power witch 14 which also, preferably, receives power from an integrally located, preferably inside the housing, NiCad or lithium, or similar, battery 28. The power board 27 is connected to a main processing printed circuit board 29 which includes the SIM card slot 15 and SD card slot 16, and a transmitting device to transmit video and / or audio signals via the aerial 9 to a Cloud database 30. Each of the three cameras 6 are connected to the main processing board 29. Thus, in the present invention, the system incorporates PIRs, IR lights, 4-K cameras and integrally located power systems which may transmit signals to a Cloud network database so that visibility is provided along a fence to the left, right and outwards whereby the entire perimeter is covered, and which may incorporate AI motion detection with SMS and email alerts.
