Abstract
This invention concerns an Internet of Things (IoT)-based portable compressor system that integrates adaptive control and energy management to improve operational efficiency, particularly in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This system was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional portable compressors that still use pressure switch-based control, thus not being able to optimize energy consumption, perform real-time condition monitoring, or adjust operating patterns to changes in air demand. The system consists of a portable compressor unit, a microcontroller, an Internet of Things (IoT) communication module, air pressure sensors, current sensors, voltage sensors, temperature sensors, actuator control modules, data storage media, and a mobile application-based user interface or web-based dashboard.Data from all sensors is processed using an adaptive control algorithm to determine the compressor's operating pattern based on tank pressure, energy consumption, operating time, and air demand characteristics. The system then automatically regulates compressor operation and transmits operational data in real time via the internet. In addition to control functions, the system also implements energy management by monitoring power consumption, recording operational data, notifying abnormal conditions, and providing performance information as a basis for maintenance and energy efficiency evaluation.
