Abstract

The formulation of health supplement capsules adds nutritional value with an oil composition containing Haruan fish oil (Channa striata), soybean oil (Glycine max semen), and olive oil (Olea europaea fructus). The composition per capsule (total 500 mg) consists of: Haruan fish oil 350 mg (70%), soybean oil 100 mg (20%), and olive oil 50 mg (10%), with a ratio of 7:2:1. Haruan fish oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). Soybean oil contributes omega-6 fatty acids and natural lecithin as an emulsifier to increase omega-3 absorption. Olive oil contains phenolic antioxidants (hydroxytyrosol) and monounsaturated fatty acids that protect fish oil from oxidation, resulting in a synergistic effect of stability, bioavailability, and health benefits. The manufacturing method by mixing the three oils at room temperature (25-30°C) with stirring at 200-300 rpm for 10-15 minutes until homogeneous, then filled into capsules of 500 mg per capsule, dried and packaged airtight, so that it is useful to overcome the limitations of Haruan fish oil yield, increase oxidative stability and bioavailability of omega-3, and produce health supplements. The method of extraction and purification of fish oil, especially from Haruan fish (Channa striata), is environmentally friendly and efficient. The conventional wet rendering process aims to increase the yield and quality of the oil produced.
