Abstract

There is disclosed a cover (100) for a bracket (900) for installing a solar panel on a slate roof, the cover (100) comprising: a planar base (102); and a hood portion (104) extending away from a top surface (106) of the planar base (102), wherein the hood portion (104) comprises: a first side wall (108) extending away from the top surface (106), and a second side wall (110) extending away from the top surface (106); a gap (112) between the first side wall (108) and the second side wall (110), the gap (112) configured to provide access to a given region positioned underneath the cover (100) from a direction perpendicular to, or close to perpendicular to, the planar base (102); and a lid (114) configured to be removably affixed to the first side wall (108) and the second side wall (110) to cover the gap (112) such that ingress of water through the gap (112) is inhibited.
