Abstract

This item is a component of a position detection device for stopping a crane traveling on a rail at a predetermined position. It can detect the stopping position of the crane by contacting a conductive member attached to the rail. It is composed of a base and an arm equipped with a roller that senses the conductive member. The roller's contact pressure can be adjusted in response to the movement of the arm, and a spring on the shaft attached inside the arm can generate a repulsive force corresponding to the amount of rotation of the arm. Specifically, the magnitude of the spring's repulsive force can be adjusted by tightening a nut onto the threads on the shaft, and the repulsive force generated by the spring is transmitted to the roller via the arm, allowing the roller to contact the conductive member. The roller is made of a conductive material (e.g., a carbon material) and moves while rolling in conjunction with the movement of the crane. One example of how this article can be used is to place a non-conductive member with a conductive member at the position where the crane should be stopped along the direction of crane movement, electrically connect this conductive member and the roller bearings to the same power source, and move the crane while keeping the roller of this article in constant contact with the non-conductive member. When the roller reaches the conductive member, a position detection circuit closes, and by detecting this closure, it is possible to stop the crane at that position.
