Safety fence for belt conveyors

Abstract

This safety fence for a belt conveyor is attached to the side of the belt conveyor to prevent workers from getting caught in it while the belt conveyor is in operation. As shown in the reference oblique view, this safety fence is secured by fastening the ends of the rail members on the left and right sides of the wire mesh section with barrel bolts attached to the upper and lower frames, respectively, and by engaging a pair of hook locks attached to the upper center of the wire mesh section and the upper frame. During inspection or repair after the belt conveyor has stopped, the hook locks alone can be removed to slide the wire mesh section downward along the rail members, as shown in the reference oblique view with the mesh section moved downward. Alternatively, the barrel bolts at the four corners can also be removed to remove the wire mesh section from the upper and lower frames, as shown in the reference oblique view with the mesh section removed.
